Southern Classic became my favorite fast food chicken spot in college, so I was very excited to see one open in this area. Every time I visit this location, the service is fast and the employees are always polite. My food is always hot, fresh, and flavorful. It really hits the spot every time!

I was in town looking for a bite but didn't feel like dining in at a fancy establishment. I decided to give Southern Classic Chicken a chance. The first drive thru lane is very tight. Be cautious as not to curb your tires. Both employees i interacted with were pleasant. I was surprised with fresh, hot food so close to closing time (1115p.) The competition would've attempted selling me the remaining chicken already prepared. I'm not a fan of bread but I was starving so I ate the roll, lol. The red beans had to be the freshest I've tasted in forever. Overall, I greatly appreciated the homemade flavor and Southern Classic will definitely be my first choice when I think of fried chicken.

The chicken was juicy but lacked flavor. Unfortunately everything including the sides lacked flavor to me. I personally feel like there are better chicken options that I would visit first. The line was long when I went but moved at a pretty good pace.

Drive thru fried chicken. Not gonna lie, the skin was crispy and fried to perfection. In my opinion, price wise was on the cheaper side compared to Popeyes and Church's. 8pc dark was $15 and a large box of fries was another $7. I did notice that the menu sign had the sides for $6 but it was charged a different price on the receipt so I'll have to double check it the next time if I go. Took about 15-20 minutes to be in and out and we got there around 2:50/3:00pm and got out of the line with chicken in hand by 3:25pm or so. It started as one line but then split to two before you ordered. The first sign showed some popular items but the full menu had a lot more. Flavor wise Popeyes is more flavorful. The only thing I enjoyed was how well it was cooked. Not bad but not great. Glad I was able to try it!

This is my 1st time coming to the new establishment and I went through the drive thru. The food tastes good, the service was fast, the parking lot was clean and the employees were very polite. I would recommend this new establishment but the only thing that could be a little better is the gravy size for a large mashed potatoe but besides that I'm very satisfied.

Well tried Southern Classic Chicken today. The wife was by there and there were minimal people in line so we thought what the heck, let's give it a try ! All I can say is "meh" didn't see what all the hoopla was about! When she got home The order wasn't correct but hey it's chicken. The rolls were less than fresh , as if they had been open a while, and we had items missing. But we counted it as new business jitters. Hopefully they will get it together. So as for the taste , think Churches with more seasoning ! On a positive note the fries were really good! So all in all it wasn't bad but don't think we will be going back!

Great atmosphere but quickly turned. My menu was dirty and in fact half of it was illegible I mean bad. When waiter, Jon, finally came he agreed an out the menu and said he'd be right back with new one and trash the other which I said yep that shouldn't have gotten past the hostess. He never came back with another menu so I used my grandsons to figure out what I wanted. We ordered after waiting a good while for him to come back more than 15 minutes. And the place was not busy. I've waited tables, managed and trained waitstaff so I'm pretty aware of what is just neglect. This was. He was a bit older than other waitstaff and I would have figured more seasoned. So count this as 2 strikes. Food finally delivered by someone else which is fine and glad it go there because we were hungry. Pretty unremarkable although it looked good. I won't go into what we had but it was main dishes. And he recommended as well. Next my grandson was out of water and we kept looking for Jon so we could get more water. Strike 3. He never came by. Not even to see if our food was good or we needed anything. I did want to order a dozen order Traditional Oysters after going and getting another menu myself. When I did there were a stack of menus and no sh t the dirty unreadable menu I had was on top of all of them. So much for throwing it away. I had finished my meal at this point and I asked another waiter if he could get us some water and he said sure and disappeared. I water station was right behind our booth. He never returned. Frustrated I got up to go to the bar to get some water and a female waitress was right there and I asked her if she might get us some water. She immediately said no problem and got it right there. Thank you to her. Finally Jon came by and said hey another waiter said we needed water but saw we already had it. I told him my experience in restaurants and have eaten in many high end fine quality establishments and this was by far the worst experience I'd ever had and went Over in detail everything above. I would had asked for a manager but I wanted Jon to understand his shortcomings and disappointment in the experience we had. So no, I wouldn't say I'd never go back but it would be after I had tried lots of other places. Disappointed doesn't quite cover it and I sure wish I'd of been able to get the oysters as a fellow dinner said they were great.

They have been featured on Food Network's "Diners, Drive In's, and Dives" and have the pictures with Guy Fieri prominently displayed to prove it. The interior is eclectic, which is comforting. While BBQ is the main emphasis here, there are a number of other things on the menu. One of these that's really popular is the seafood stuffed potatoes. These are gigantic baked potatoes that come with shrimp or catfish, with our without crawfish étouffée. Seafood is a definite option here, and one can have it on Friday or any other day. But let's discuss the BBQ. They have smoked turkey that's never dry, and this is great in a sandwich or plate. The smoked wings are another favorite of mine. Then there is the smoked meatloaf, which is great in po-boy form. The ribs and brisket are also very worthy options. I think a two meat plate is a good way to enjoy the BBQ as it allows variety in tasting! Then one has to be pleased by the wide selection of sides. Variety is always great, especially when it includes uncommonly great options like fried green beans, red beans and rice, and Cajun Dirty Rice. One can always get coleslaw and beans if you are a fan of the classics. They even have desserts, if one has any room left for them. I rarely do...

They weren't that great, if I'm being honest, but I was hungry so they got the job done. The crawfish are clearly the star of the show here anyway.
