This place is pretty legit for fast food chicken. Of course it's new and only doing drive thru due to Covid so you will wait but it is worth it in my opinion. I would suggest looking at the menu on the website while you wait as it's pretty much the same thing on their menu board. We were promptly greeted when we pulled up to the speaker after a good 30 min wait or so and they got our food to us fast and fresh. Me and my husband both had the chicken strip meals and they were great. My husband had the spicy tenders which is just spicy coating on top of the fried tenders and the zing sauce and he really liked it. The rolls are excellent! I don't think I've ever had that good of a roll from a fast food restaurant in my life. Get you a couple of extra added on. We will do so next time. This was my third time trying golden chick. They just opened so I waited in the drive thru line about 35 minutes. I tried it a few times in Texas and loved it. I'm so excited we have one in Louisiana now. The macaroni and cheese is creamy and delicious. Always hot and fresh. These rolls are to die for. They smell like heaven. They have a bit of a sweet taste to them. I could truly eat a million. You can choose either white gravy or a dipping sauce for your tenders. I always choose the white gravy. One of the dipping sauces is sweet baby ray's so enough said there. They also have honey mustard. I always get the spicy tenders which have a spicy powder on them which are pretty spicy and I love spicy food. I guess it depends on how much powder is on your chicken. The roll was very soft and it was sweet which is something im not to fond of. The shrimp reminded me of captain D's seafood shrimp, but they were also very sweet also something i don't like. The mac and cheese was ok, tasted generic kind of like out of a box and required salt. The catfish was ok as well not like the catfish you would find here in town. I finally decided to try Golden Chick after seeing the long line of vehicles every time I passed the restaurant. I can say that the customer service was excellent, and there are a variety of items to choose from off the menu. My family and I being connoisseurs of chicken decided to try the wings, fried chicken, spicy chicken tenders, and the fish. The fries, okra, and yeast rolls were really good. The raspberry lemonade was not that great. The chicken was really bland, and the tenders had no spice. Also, the fish was not memorable. In my opinion, I do not think the fried chicken can compete with the chicken restaurants around town, but I am willing to try Golden Chick out one more time.
