My first time having Dave's hot chicken. I love how new the plaza and building is. I was surprised to see a long wait, with about seven or so parties ahead of me. I would say it took about 30 minutes until I got to the cashier. Once I placed my order, it took about 15 minutes or so to get my food. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing, much better than any other fast food spot that I know of. We came here for our son's birthday weekend and it's definitely an experience. We ordered and waited about 30-40 minutes for the food (4 meals). The food does come out super fresh and it's pretty high quality chicken. We all got the medium which has a great flavor. It's heavy on the chili/paprika flavor, this is a West Coast chain so it's not the Louisiana spicy chicken we're used to, still really good just different. They do a great job frying because the crunch was top tier and the way the flavor seems like it's in the batter is amazing. It was $65 for 4 meals so pretty steep pricing. The reasons we wouldn't be back is because of the wait, there's nowhere to sit, it's really hot in the building and it's pretty expensive. I hope they get some fans for the cooks in the back too. They're back there frying chicken which I know from experience makes it hot and they're sweating their butts off back there to get it out fast due to the volume. The line was out the door when we left at 3pm so I can only imagine how hot they must be for a lunch rush. I understand that this place just opened so there's some grace with having to wait. However my food was not hot so I don't understand what the long wait was for. I got the mild chicken as I didn't want too much spicy, despite not being hot there was a crunch to it and the chicken tenders were a nice size. The sauce didn't have much flavor to it, and the fries were cold which was another disappointment. It was a nice amount of food for the price. The inside was clean and the decor was really nice and there was music playing, it wasn't too loud where you couldn't hear another person talking to you. read more

I ordered the Chicken Slider combo in a medium and hot spice level with extra Dave's sauce and honey (a must). I also ordered a plain vanilla shake which made me think of the ice cream in a cup served at school so tasted nostalgic to me. I ordered fries with my combo and a side of Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was ok, very little seasoning or salt, lots of cheesy sauce, so definitely not dry. The chicken sliders were delicious, and a part of me wanted more slaw to taste on it. Pouring the honey on the chicken hit all of my taste buds, savory, spicy, salty, and sweet, I wish I had the sourness from the slaw but the pickles helped to tie it all together. Those pickles are delicious! The wait was about 45-55min to get inside and order then it took an additional 15-20 minutes to get the food so I appreciate the food being fresh and hot, except my fries had lukewarm cheese sauce. It was worth the wait for me and they had more things on the menu than what I showed. I can't wait to come back and get the tenders again. The medium for me was like a mild and the hot was a perfect spice level for me, gave me just the right tingles. Tasty! We had the #1 combo (tenders) with kale slaw and the #2 combo with fries. One was "mild spice" (one up from the bottom) and one was "hot" (about in the middle). Tip: "hot" is plenty unless you're just into spice for spice's sake. The only thing preventing five stars is the wait times (both to get in and to get your food after ordering), but hopefully that will settle down in the near future. read more

Gave Dave's a try today and was not disappointed. The chicken came out extremely fresh, juicy, and tasty. I tried the Medium and it was plenty of spice (just warm, not hot) with great flavor. I often judge chicken places on the slaw, and the kale slaw did not disappoint. Fries were mediocre, but then again, I really did not go there to fill up on potatoes. Wait time is still a little on the long side, and there were some concerns with table and floor bussing, but hopefully time to build a more experienced staff will help address that. The tender-sliders are huge and very good. I got them "hot" and I also got one tender, reaper level, just to try it. Both are very good, but I liked the hot better. We ordered around 2:20 and received the food almost at 3. This location seems busy/steady stream of customers. The food came out hot, flavor was ok to me. I felt the crust on the chicken trapped oil from being fried...it looked greasy. The chicken was juicy and the bun on the slider was very good. The Dave's sauce is a similar sauce to other competitors and was ok. I did not enjoy the seasoning on the fries, some were over coated and some had hardly any, but it was the flavor of the seasoning that I did not like. The chicken crust had an odd seasoning taste, almost like too much salt but I could not figure out if it was salt or another spice mixed with salt. It took forever to even get my order, and when it finally came out, it was cold. The staff didn't make it any better. I went to Dave's Hot Chicken because my 11 yr old godson wanted to go. The interior is brightly colored and the restaurant is very clean. However, I thought the chicken was mediocre at best. I got the # 4 - the single slider w fries. My godson got the 2 slider combo. The chicken was dry and not well seasoned on mine. He ate both of his sandwiches so I thought he liked them. Customer service was very friendly and made sure to check in. Quick to get food out, and I enjoy the vibration system to help notify when food is ready. Only thing I'd say is to bring their chicken over the top, they should SEASON it before frying!! And even throw some seasoning on top after lol. It's cooked well, it just lacks flavor. That's dine out prices and for the portion size that's insane. Tender on bun, tender by itself, 1/4 cup of fries, and a sauce container of coleslaw. Absolutely insane price to pay. Chicken was hot, but the flavor wasn't there at all. Fries were fries with a little Cajun seasoning. I hate coleslaw so I didn't eat it so I can't speak on that. Waited 10-15mins for that btw.
