girls, if you're getting a chicken Caesar wrap, go to the Perkins location. Please. I've had a super good one from the one on Perkins, and I thought this would be the same. Instead, the lettuce was literally COOKED like steaming hot and there was melty mozzarella cheese inside, which is odd because Caesar salads don't typically include mozzarella - just Parmesan. The tortilla didn't taste fresh, and i think they just took the whole wrap and pressed it flat in a panini press. The heat made the lettuce completely wilted, and this was the most disappointing chicken Caesar wrap I've ever experienced. There was also not enough chicken or fillings inside like overall it was a very small wrap for the price. The quality of their shredded chicken is great, but everything else was extremely subpar. After receiving mine with the mozzarella (lactose intolerant), I even decided to bite the bullet and order a second one (so I paid for two) and this time specified no cheese at all, and extra chicken. The second one STILL had cheese, and the same amount of chicken. The sweet potato fries were fine, and the build your own sandwich my boyfriend got was good. just don't do the wrap from here yall. The last three times I've used their deli for sandwiches and chicken tenders, has been very disappointing.. It's frustrating because I was accustomed to good service, and was willing to compromise on the amount of time it took to produce a good sandwich. Unfortunately, those days are gone as their employees are unresponsive, and take an incredibly long time to even recognize you're at the counter. Once your order is placed, you have no further communication with their staff behind the counter because the seldom reappear. Instead the aee hiding behind the wall ignoring people who are at the counter. You can't even get an update as to why your order is taking 20+ mins. When you do finally get someone to help with getting your food, they act as if you've bothered them. We won't be going back and I'll share my view with my friends, family, and neighbors. It's sad that they've let some 16 year olds that are not managed well trash their reputation. read more

Does not enforce wearing mask by staff nor customers plus they are rude ! Double won't be back which is unfortunate as I've been a Maxwell's customer for many years. However I've been disappointed lately with rude or more often indifferent staff at checkout. It's either hit or miss with the staff being friendly or sitting on the counter barely making eye contact with the attitude that you're interrupting their day. I'm giving this establishment 2 stars not based upon their food but the customer service I received from some old white lady this morning! I've been to this establishment several times but this time wasn't pleasant at all! I don't like prejudice people and she is just that! I called in my order, she explained to me more than one time that it was the Corporate Blvd location. I'm well aware of the location I called. I got there and told her I had an order for a club sandwich. She seemed clueless and was like there is no order. The lady in the kitchen said it's already made; it's on the counter. We proceeded to the counter. I gave her my card. She gave me my receipt and card back then was like wait! First off, you couldn't have given me an approved receipt if something was wrong. He demeanor and attitude was that of the one who doesn't deal with African American people well! She should check her attitude! Next time, I won't be nice! If you are looking for a mom and pop kind of feel with a high end kick to it then Maxwells just might be your place. Maxwells has always set themselves apart from other small meat market delicatessens by providing good quality food products. Their meat department specializes in the highest grade choice cuts of meats and the highest grade prime cuts of meat. Same for pork and chicken. The prepared food section is of good quality, however sometimes some of the choices look a little "aged". For the most part everything is made as fresh as possible. I have had all the stuffed chicken breast choices as well as beef, chicken, and shrimp kabob choices. Every person has different tastes and will comment on what they like, but the quality of the food is high. The salads are eye catching and very appealing. Again taste is in the palette of the beholder, but most of the prepared salads are quite tasty. The deli area is were my concerns are. I have recently gone on two occasions to get sliced meat and cheese. The first I waited for a few minutes then finally someone came to serve me. The second time, several workers passed me by making eye contact but not one stopped to ask if I needed anything and it was not busy in the store at all. I ended up walking away without getting anything; disappointing. Usually service is good but not this day. Some prices of food and grocery can be a little on the pricey side. And sometimes service is lacking. However, Maxwell's has good products and a great selection. Do go there, you will be pleased. read more

It's a bit hit or miss. Generally it's ok, but every now and then there'll be teens working the kitchen (or whomever their B team is) and they'll screw something rudimentary up. I went in there for a bacon cheeseburger once, and not only did it take 20 mins to make, but they forgot the bacon and used what tasted like week old meat. Other times it's been ok, although a tad bit overpriced for what you're getting. The Perkins location seems to be better run for some reason. read more

I lived in Bocage for 2.5 years and this was my evening stop for take out dinner. Even now, whenever I travel to BRLA on business I make it a point to have lunch here. Their crab cakes are simply delicious! They have a little kick to them but the seasoning is just right. The New Orleans shrimp salad is just right since it doesn't have too much mayo and an ample quantity of shrimp. As for sandwiches, the Cuban is great. It has ham, turkey, salami, roast pork and monterrey jack cheese on french bread. The meatball poboy is really good too with the in house made meatballs and marinara sauce. The tenderloin caesar gets an honorable mention too since the beef tenderloin has a succulent marinade. In the meat section do yourself a favor and pick up a pound or two of the italian sausage, spiced perfectly and sizzles great on the grill. Don't forget to order a side of fries, which is actually big enough for two and are never greasy. For dessert, try the daily selection of pie or cheesecake, you can't go wrong! read more

Love this place. I don't know why I don't come here more often. Their deli section is great. The New Orleans potato salad is super delicious!! I got some fresh Atlantic salmon portions. The man behind the counter cut me 5 oz portions, as requested. He also took the skin off for me. The employers were friendly. They have a selection of condiments you don't normally find in an Albertsons. I bought some great marinade and seasoning. I can't wait to go back in there and try some more stuff out! Looking for a meat market or butcher, I stumbled upon this place. It's basically a meat counter with a deli and small grocery items. They offer free draft beer while you shop, although it was bud light, I found it a great and welcoming idea. I got some house made Italian sausage and some Tasso stuffed chicken breasts. Salads, sandwiches, and other options to choose from for daily specials. If I'm looking for a good sandwich, I know where to go. On top of that, the market is pretty nice too! You can potentially order your lunch and then shop around for what you will cook for dinner. There's also a nice selection of desserts to choose from which include homemade cookies, cake slices, scones, etc. the atmosphere is good although there isn't too, too much seating so I would advise against coming with a large party. Each time I have ordered from the deli/grill, I've had bad experiences each time. While the market is good and they have good products, if you order from the grill you may be disappointed. They have all of the best ingredients because of the market but the cooks who prepare the food cannot cook. Being from out of town, I owed it to myself to try some Louisiana cuisine. I was told that Maxwell's Market made a mean Oyster Po Boy, so I went for it. Quick service, delicious food, lovely spot. 3 rather than 4 stars because I find the place a bit of an enigma. Sometimes I will visit and be treated like an old friend whom they are eager to please. Other times, it will seem as if better "old friends" need all the attention and might I get on with it, or maybe just as well I move on and shop elsewhere. Food is usually as advertised, whether ordered to eat or bought there to take home, but .. for example there seems to be no extra effort made to make the produce the best and freshest it can be .. or the store labeled dips etc, there seems to be no real store identity to those items as much as just contract produced with the Maxwell's label affixed to the packaging. But there's a loyal clientele and you know this place is going to be there with quality meats, cheeses, and similar products. read more

The cashiers are very snooty and arrogant. They basically ignore you until it's time to pay for your food. Even then, they don't ask may I help you - at all. You stand there at the counter waiting for them to stop socializing with one another, then they look at you like you are a peasant, then they talk to you. However, this location and the Perkins rd location, I have observed them go out of their way to be courteous to the older male customers who seem as if they are wealthy. The prices are inconsistent between the Perkins rd location and the Corporate location as well. read more

For lunch I typically get the chicken salad sandwich, though you really can't go wrong with their burger! Sweet potato fries are good, but I'll typically get a bag of zapps instead. Call ahead at least 20 minutes before going during lunch, I've had food take a bit of time (but they're really busy, so the wait is totally understandable). I remember hearing about a band that called themselved "Free Beer" and that they got crazy numbers at their shows because people thought the flier was an offer for the beverage not a proper noun. Well Maxwell's doesn't overtly advertise this but they ACTUALLY do have free beer! You ask for a cup when you go in and you are allowd to enjoy a frosty one while you shop. GENIUS. I have personally made bad and expensive shopping decisions whilst on my way home from brunch before (oh this one pair of shoes...I can't even tell you how hideous...and pricey...it's still upsetting) and while Maxwell's is pricey it is worth shopping there to support a locally owned and operated shop and I promise you won't regret a single purchase here no matter how many cold ones you indulge in. Their steaks are out of this world and incredibly fresh and I look forward to trying their seafood selections. It is a great lunch destination in the dismal corporate chain wasteland that is located LITERALLY on Corporate Blvd. It never fails to amaze me how amazing and diverse the people of La. are but there is an all too eager consumption and consumer support of evil corporate empires. I've long been a fan of Maxwell's for their deli, especially their delicious and decadent meat pies. Recently, though, on a recommendation from a friend, I decided to try one of their steaks instead of supermarket steaks. I smoked and grilled a sirloin that was between 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick. I smoked it for 20 minutes on indirect heat with hickory chunks and charcoal, then finished it off with a reverse sear directly over the coals. This huge steak, enough for me and my 24-year old son, plus ample leftovers, was the best steak either of us has ever tasted! I'm done with cheap, thin supermarket steaks.
