While I didn't see the best ratings for Milford's I decided to give it a try anyways. It's conveniently located and because I was staying in the hotel, I had a voucher for a free glass of champagne. The champagne was really good, cold and crisp, exactly what I needed after a long day of work. One morning, I was pressed for time and wanted something for breakfast so I go the salmon bagel and a cup of coffee (which was also free because I was staying in the hotel). The bagel itself was good but VERY salty, it came on a everything bagel with boursin cream cheese, spinach and capers. I usually ask for a plain bagel whenever I get a bagel with smoked salmon but wanted to try something different. I have a feeling that this would have made a difference. I ended up deconstructing and only eating the salmon, cream cheese, spinach and capers on one half of the bagel, this made it a tad bit less saltier. The coffee was also good considering I got to make it myself so no complaints there. Do note, that if you stay at the Watermark you do get a lot of perks at the Milford (free glass of champagne and free coffee any time throughout the day). read more

Dont be fooled by the esthetics of this place... they are serving sub-par, half-assed, overpriced food. Breakfast Sandwiches are expensive and the quality doesn't justify the price. Our bill for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 1 OJ, came to $22. Whatever they are trying to pass as eggs here, is not cutting it. Just take a look at the pictures I took of our food... Breakfast sandwiches aren't typically made with "fluffy" eggs, because it doesn't fit well on a sandwich, and is too large to bite into! The eggs here are like 4 inches tall, mushy and almost unrecognizable as an egg. My boyfriend took one bite of his food, got up from the table and spit it into the trashcan. The texture was revolting. (He ordered the Turkey Scrambler). I am speechless... and still hungry. Go to McDonalds down the street. You'll eat better and spend alot less money. read more

This place is located within the Watermark Hotel. They have a decent breakfast menu and also have sime grab and go items. Only a few tables inside but they were a bit too close for me to feel comfortable dining inside...u know..with the covid and all. I ordered a breakfast platter to go. Coffee is free if you are staying at the hotel so that was a nice perk. The breakfast looked pretty small at first glance but it was quite a bit of food. Grits and bacon were cooked nicely. Eggs were overcooked which made them a bit dry. I enjoyed the grilled biscuit as well. Overall a good experience. read more

In what world is this a "New York deli?" It's not even a bodega. Staying at the Watermark. I'm told this is a great breakfast spot. One of Baton Rouge's best. There is no way. A bacon, egg and cheese on a Costco croissant does not personify greatness. Just because a small coffee shop sells a bagel, doesn't make it a NY deli. Panera sells bagels and there is nothing more opposite to a NY bagel than a white bread, steam, convection oven baked bagel. This is a coffee stand, no different than a Starbucks. Any bagel they serve has come in from a food supplier. There is no kitchen or kettle to boil the bagels. They put lox on a bagel. Okay - so does Einstein Bros. That's not a NY deli or a great bagel. There was nothing wrong with the food. Service was adequate. Price was in line with anyone else. It was open at 6 am, compared to the hotel breakfast that was open at 6:30 am. This is not a "great" breakfast. Coffee from an urn and other reviews say they have great coffee. This is the same stuff you get at a gas station. Even the espresso was from an automated machine, Franke or some derivative thereof. There was no Marzocco present. If there is something amazing here, go forth and find it. I didn't. read more

The coffee was good, but I think I was charged for a flavor that I didn't receive which is no bueno. Also, I got the salmon bagel and something was missing. I can't tell you what, but it was just okay and I feel like it should have been better. It has Boursin cheese, spinach, everything bagel and smoked salmon so it should have been bomb, but it was just okay. Part of it could have been the missing ambience. The hospitality here is so refreshing for a girl from "up north." I stayed in the watermark so I came here for some breakfast eats. The two women I encountered behind the counter were both nice and really helpful. I got the breakfast platter (I think that's the name) with eggs, sausage, grits and a biscuit. The woman even asked if I wanted salt and pepper on my eggs and to hand her a couple of packets. Usually you just have to add the salt and pepper on after the fact which isn't as good as being cooked into the eggs. That's what I call going a step above. I even witnessed another woman go out of her way to grab decaf coffee from the other restaurant since they had already stopped making coffee for the day. My biscuit was delicious, nice and buttery how I like. The grits were nice and creamy, I just wish I had asked for cheese in them. The entire meal was yummy, I was sad I couldn't finish it all. The staff were nice and the flavor was pretty good but the eggs looked like they were sliced out of a loaf pan and the two thin pieces of toast weren't strong enough to hold up the sand which. After being released from jury duty, I figured I would swing by a downtown establishment and grab something to go (I wish more people would!).I've heard pretty okay things about Milford's, and the special looked pretty good. I ordered the turkey sandwich, and it was overpacked with turkey on multigrain sandwich with bacon, swiss, and avocado spread. While it was nothing to really write home about, it was inexpensive and tasty. No, it's no NYC deli, but we are thousands of miles from NYC, so that's expected. They try though. Also, as a bonus for the service, it was the polar opposite of several delis I visited in NYC - friendly and quick. I intend to go back and try some other things next time. read more

We had high hopes for this place, after reading some of the reviews and talking to some friends that have been here. The place is very small. Only eight tables on the inside and two out. They offer counter service and a grab and go refrigerator. We went for breakfast on a Sunday. Breakfast options are limited. Bagels, bagels sandwiches, one wrap and a couple breakfast plates. They also offer fresh baked pastry, which was sold out before we got there. The only gluten free options are the two breakfast plates (one was oatmeal the other eggs) and parfaits. I ordered the Salt and smoke which is a salmon breakfast sandwich on a bagel. I was surprised when I was not asked what kind of bagel I wanted. I also ordered a cappuccino. Hubby got an everything bagel with salmon added, water and a wakey bakey. (We had a 225 deal to use). We sat down and waited for our food. Our food was delivered after a ten minute wait. Kind of long considering there was only one other table ahead of us. And it came without my cappuccino. The server went back and made my cappuccino and brought it out. Our take on the food. The salt and smoke was not what I expected. There was plenty of salmon. The onion bagel fresh. A small smear of onion cream cheese and spinach. I think it needed tomato, onion and capers to give it some flavor. The croissant and bacon was overdone on the wakey bakey. The egg patty seemed to be premade based on the texture and appearance. Skinny on the place. Service is slow. I only got my cappuccino after asking for it when our food arrived. The prices are high. $3 for bottled water. $9 for smoked salmon bagel sandwich. (Hint. Milford's is the deli associated with the Watermark Hotel on 3rd Street. It opens to both the street and hotel lobby. They have a number of grab-and-go selections for those in a hurry, but I think their signature sandwiches are where it is at. I'm a fan of the hot sandwiches, like their signature sandwich, The Milford! The Brisket Sandwich is also a hearty choice. Reuben's are also a tasty option. Sandwiches come with a pickle spear and a bag of chips of your choice. You can also get sides like slaw and potato salad. There is even a Matzo Ball soup option. I can't speak to the breakfast options from personal experience, but they do have them. Bagels and fixings are a tasty option I saw on their menu. The service is prompt and friendly. They seem to be a good choice for stopping in for a quick meal while downtown. read more

But the Marriott employee whose name was not visible needed to be assigned to a place with no guest interaction. Went back today and tried the brisket sandwich. Brisket, cheddar, bbq sauce on a bun and grilled in a press. I also had the potato salad. This was a much better experience than earlier this week. The sandwich was quite tasty and all the ingredients worked well together. The bun was fresh! The potato salad was very mayo-ey and very onioney. It was quite spicy from the onion. I'm surprised at the mediocre reviews of this place. It's more or less a deli tucked on the side of the Watermark hotel. The breakfast menu options are plentiful and there's a very sizeable selection of drinks available as well. I had the breakfast croissant with fried green tomatoes and thought it was incredible. The cooks work at a pretty quick clip so if you're ever in a rush and want a breakfast that's filling, I'd check this place out. read more

Located in the new Watermark building, Milford's on Third aspires to be a Jewish deli, but I think with a more modern take. I had the smoked salmon on an everything bagel with cream cheese and capers. It was also supposed to have onions and tomato on it, but those were left off accidentally. I also had a side of cole slaw, which tasted more like saurkraut, so they may want to update the menu to indicate that. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and look forward to coming back. They just opened literally yesterday, so they may still have a few kinks to iron out. However, I am so excited to have a new lunch option in the downtown area! Next time I come back, I want to try some of their hot-pressed sandwiches or some of the fresh salads. read more
