Tasty grits

This place is located within the Watermark Hotel. They have a decent breakfast menu and also have sime grab and go items. Only a few tables inside but they were a bit too close for me to feel comfortable dining inside...u know..with the covid and all. I ordered a breakfast platter to go. Coffee is free if you are staying at the hotel so that was a nice perk. The breakfast looked pretty small at first glance but it was quite a bit of food. Grits and bacon were cooked nicely. Eggs were overcooked which made them a bit dry. I enjoyed the grilled biscuit as well. Overall a good experience.

Walking around my hotel early on a holiday weekend looking for a place to get breakfast and stumbled upon this spot. Due to Hurricane Ida they had a limited menu. I got the oatmeal platter to take to my hotel. It came with fresh fruit and toast and sausage for $10. Expectations were low and I ended up enjoying my breakfast!

The coffee was good, but I think I was charged for a flavor that I didn't receive which is no bueno. Also, I got the salmon bagel and something was missing. I can't tell you what, but it was just okay and I feel like it should have been better. It has Boursin cheese, spinach, everything bagel and smoked salmon so it should have been bomb, but it was just okay. Part of it could have been the missing ambience. I mean, you order at a counter, like in a cafeteria. There was little of no service, and then you sit at one of five tables. One man had to move because of the table situation.

The hospitality here is so refreshing for a girl from "up north." I stayed in the watermark so I came here for some breakfast eats. The two women I encountered behind the counter were both nice and really helpful. I got the breakfast platter (I think that's the name) with eggs, sausage, grits and a biscuit. The woman even asked if I wanted salt and pepper on my eggs and to hand her a couple of packets. Usually you just have to add the salt and pepper on after the fact which isn't as good as being cooked into the eggs. That's what I call going a step above. I even witnessed another woman go out of her way to grab decaf coffee from the other restaurant since they had already stopped making coffee for the day. My biscuit was delicious, nice and buttery how I like. The grits were nice and creamy, I just wish I had asked for cheese in them. The entire meal was yummy, I was sad I couldn't finish it all. I'll definitely be back whenever I stay at the watermark.

This place was so good. The service was great and food was rarely priced. Food came out quick and was so amazing. Such a hidden gem in downtown Baton Rouge everyone should try this place.

Hot ham and cheese

It is suppose to be on sourdough bread, they put it on cheap white bunny bread so the bread was soggy. Bad customer service as well, 2/10 will not be back.

Best Chocolate Muffins in BR..

This is better place to eat at Marriott's WaterMark Autograph Hotel. Their coffee is outstanding and chocolate muffins are deliciously moist. They offer breakfast, sandwiches, salads and lunch items. I love their deli sliced Turkey w/ Swiss Cheese. Can eat in restaurant, but I get my offerings to go.

We had high hopes for this place, after reading some of the reviews and talking to some friends that have been here. The place is very small. Only eight tables on the inside and two out. They offer counter service and a grab and go refrigerator. We went for breakfast on a Sunday. Breakfast options are limited. Bagels, bagels sandwiches, one wrap and a couple breakfast plates. They also offer fresh baked pastry, which was sold out before we got there. The only gluten free options are the two breakfast plates (one was oatmeal the other eggs) and parfaits. I ordered the Salt and smoke which is a salmon breakfast sandwich on a bagel. I was surprised when I was not asked what kind of bagel I wanted. I also ordered a cappuccino. Hubby got an everything bagel with salmon added, water and a wakey bakey. (We had a 225 deal to use). We sat down and waited for our food. Our food was delivered after a ten minute wait. Kind of long considering there was only one other table ahead of us. And it came without my cappuccino. The server went back and made my cappuccino and brought it out. Our take on the food. The salt and smoke was not what I expected. There was plenty of salmon. The onion bagel fresh. A small smear of onion cream cheese and spinach. I think it needed tomato, onion and capers to give it some flavor. The croissant and bacon was overdone on the wakey bakey. The egg patty seemed to be premade based on the texture and appearance. Skinny on the place. Service is slow. I only got my cappuccino after asking for it when our food arrived. The prices are high. $3 for bottled water. $9 for smoked salmon bagel sandwich. (Hint. Order a bagel with smear and add salmon and you'll pay $6. Unless you think having spinach is worth an additional $3). The wakey bakey is not a bad deal for $6.

Milford's is the deli associated with the Watermark Hotel on 3rd Street. It opens to both the street and hotel lobby. They have a number of grab-and-go selections for those in a hurry, but I think their signature sandwiches are where it is at. I'm a fan of the hot sandwiches, like their signature sandwich, The Milford! The Brisket Sandwich is also a hearty choice. Reuben's are also a tasty option. Sandwiches come with a pickle spear and a bag of chips of your choice. You can also get sides like slaw and potato salad. There is even a Matzo Ball soup option. I can't speak to the breakfast options from personal experience, but they do have them. Bagels and fixings are a tasty option I saw on their menu. The service is prompt and friendly. They seem to be a good choice for stopping in for a quick meal while downtown.

Brisket sandwich and potato salad

Went back today and tried the brisket sandwich. Brisket, cheddar, bbq sauce on a bun and grilled in a press. I also had the potato salad. This was a much better experience than earlier this week. The sandwich was quite tasty and all the ingredients worked well together. The bun was fresh! The potato salad was very mayo-ey and very onioney. It was quite spicy from the onion. I enjoyed it but could see it running people off (not just b/c of their onion breath...which will be brutal). Still 3 stars b/c that means "A-OK".

The Milfords Bowl! This is a breakfast bowl consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, cheese, and hash browns.

We had the Third Street sandwich. We loved it. We plan to return. We also appreciate them working hard with only two people on shift.

For catering, I was surprised at how many options there were! There was salads, sandwiches, vegetarian options and lots of sides and dessert options. Because I didn't know if the sandwiches would come with sauce on them, which I don't like, I opted for a Cesar salad with a brownie. During our meeting before lunch, Jason's Deli delivered our boxes and put our names on the boxes so you knew which one was yours. I really liked this inside of just categorizing by lunch type: sandwich, salad, soup. When I opened my box, my Cesar salad was there with a big cup of dressing on the side. There was also two slices of bread and my delicious brownie. The salad was delicious and so was the bread and brownie. If I'm ever needing to cater for something, I am definitely doing Jason's Deli!

The muffalata sandwich was average, you only get to choose from ham & salami or turkey. When ordering we got the quarter muffalata special, the guy made it sound like you had to choose between ham, salami or turkey. It tasted decent, but not the real deal. Currently they have French onion soup, delicious! It was full of onions. Would def get it again. The salad bar was constantly being refreshed with new food. $7.79 and you can get a "side salad". I was so filled from the salad I didn't even need the sandwich. For $20 you have 2 full meals. Can't beat that.

Our results were all similar; we all agreed that JM was the best of the bunch. My wife and I liked Inga's more than Cheba Hut, while I preferred Cheba. However, when the final scores were tallied, Inga's came in 2nd. I wouldn't say it's a bad sandwich by any means, but I wouldn't say it's great, either. The steak imo wasn't nearly as spectacular as I'd been led to believe. Personally I'd rate it 3 stars, but since my wife and son enjoyed it more than I did I'll give it 4.

I ordered one of my favorites, the grilled chicken breast on white bread (fully dressed) and it was just as amazing as I remember it. I will say, they went up on their prices but it's definitely worth the price. I always get the giant size because I'll either split it with someone or save the other half for lunch the next day. So it's pretty much two meals (unless you're super super hungry and want to eat the whole sandwich in one sitting like I did yesterday:)). They are always super quick too! I called in my order to pick it up and it only took 10 minutes. Also, the woman who is always working is super nice as well! I'll definitely continue to be a regular at this place, one of my favorite spots in Baton Rouge!
