I got the ham and cheese, fully dressed. It was absolutely delicious. The bread was toasted and the cheese was perfect melted. The sandwich also came with Zapps chips (I purchased Ruffles). I was serviced as soon as I walked in the door. It was about a 7 minute wait from the time I ordered to the time I sat down to eat the sandwich. Great place with nice picnic tables to sit outside. This place sells a bunch of fraud inventory . I used to like the sandwiches but now it's scatchy to me also . I brought a vape pen from there and when I opened it , it wasn't working. When I took it back they literally said they don't care and not taking it back . They have the worst customer service I've ever seen.We also brought liquor from there but I believe It's watered down. Cajun Turkey POBOY SON!!!!! Inside a mini-market, the folks that work here are awesome. After 2 or 3 trips, they remember your name. The poboys are huge and come packed with a lot of condiments and dressing. It takes about 5-10 minutes for the sandwiches to be made, but they are amazing. American Market is pretty popular with students around LSU. It's easy to see why. You get a lot of food for a little bit of money. The Cajun turkey, the pastrami, and hot sausage are really good. It comes with chips and a drink and it's ludicrously cheap. The people that work here are very nice and they load you up with candy along with your food. I get why people like it. I mean it's good, but I don't think I'll ever understand the amount of zeal people have for this place. Then again, people really love cheap decent food. If you get AM mart as people like to call it, I highly suggest you call it in as they can get backed up and you will get your sandwich must faster. Also people are forgetting to mention that this is also a store and not just a sandwich shop. They have a large selection of liquor, wine, and beer here. I've been a patron of AM Mart since 1999. The ownership may have changed a few times, but the sandwiches have stayed the same. I ordered two sandwiches and when I got to work realized the sandwiches were incorrect and the name on my order was incorrect. I called the store and shared with them that the order was incorrect and that the order did not have my name (someone else's name was on the wrapping) and they told me to return the order. When I arrived at the store the female clerk at the register chatted with a person whom I assumed was the owner/manager and showed him the document where she wrote down the order. She stated this is what she ordered---I stated I did not order a sandwich with peppers because I do not eat peppers. I stated I ordered pickles and not peppers. They refunded me my money and I then I requested to order 2 more sandwiches of which the young lady stated she could not take my order. I asked her are ya'll out of cajun turkey and she responded yes. I waited a couple of minutes and noticed other customers ordering cajun turkey. I asked the young lady again and she replied "We not sell you sandwiches we gave you your money back". I said, thank you for refunding me my money, however, I would like to order two more sandwiches. The young lady responded again, "We will not sell you sandwiches". I walked over to the deli counter and spoke with the manager and he stated, "we have a right to refuse service to anyone, please leave my store". I asked, what is your reason for refusing service to me?" He stated, you ordered sandwiches and returned them....I stated, so you are telling me that you are refusing me service because I returned 2 sandwiches of which your clerk wrote down the incorrect information . when I placed the order. I responded to the manager/owner and said, "Sir, I've been coming to this store for many, many years and I've never experienced a problem. I share with friends, co-workers and family all of the time that the sandwiches are good and encourage them to patronize this business. I have been a part of the LSU community for over 25 years. He again, requested that I leave the store. At this point I began responding in a highly agitated manner----I requested that they call the police. He stated he would not call the police. I stated, I know you will not because if what you were doing was right, you would have no problem calling the police, however, you know what you are doing is wrong, therefore, you will not. I stated, I would never enter this store again. The fact that the clerk took my order incorrectly and then blamed her error on the customer is both insulting and appalling to me as a consumer. This store is in no way "Customer Service Concerned or Friendly". They are only concerned with the money and not providing customer service. I will never visit this store again....my many years of patronizing has ended. read more
