So delicious, fresh ingredients, great coffee. There's something for everyone here. I highly recommend!

The food was absolutely delicious. The portions are large It's my 2nd time there. I live in St. John's NL. I was visiting my daughter and her husband. I surprised them by meeting them and my daughter's in-laws who were visiting from California for breakfast. Can't wait for the next visit and it will be back to OEB for breakfast Linda Spurrell read more

OEB Breakfast - Downtown - Smoked salmon eggs benedict! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

A very cool place for breakfast. It's one of my favourite places in Calgary now. The decoration is pretty good and I liked the atmosphere. The food was very good quality and the staff were polite and very helpful. Parking may be an issue, so plan ahead before going there. Also go on waiting list and check the waiting time would be helpful. One thing that happened to us was the wrong wait time. Apparently every time you check, you need to make sure you kill the app and start it over otherwise it doesn't refresh and won't show the right information. I had the "threesome" with waffles and chicken sausage. I also enjoyed my fresh squeezed orange juice. I definitely recommend this place. You will enjoy your experience! read more

Breakfast and brunch spot in downtown Calgary. The restaurant is located on the first floor in an office building. Use the wait app to hold your place in line before you arrive. The decor is unique and eclectic. Ask to sit in the giant egg. We came for brunch on a Sunday. It was busy but we only waited a few minutes. The menu had a lot of choices and a variety of poutine bowls. I had the meatball poutine bowl and it was delicious. As for mimosas there is no bottomless mimosas in Canada because of alcohol laws. Mimosas were $5 each. read more

Being from Montreal where all the restaurants are shut down due to the pandemic i was delighted to be able to eat in at a restaurant. I yelped restaurants in the area that offer GF breakfast and fell upon this gem. I had the crab Benedicts and it was absolutely delicious...lots of mouthwatering dishes on the menu, will definitely be back again when in Calgary!!! read more

Fantastic food with lots of variety and choices! The quality is amazing! If you can, order a flat of eggs to take home -the yolks are a rich yellow, well worth the extra! I've been to all locations in Calgary and one in Vancouver, all excellent!! read more

Great food. The apple juice was very good. Freshly made. Great choices for vegetarians! Great service. Very friendly. Amazing ambience

Whoa. This place is amazing. The food. The staff. I was looking for a breakfast place for my last day in Calgary to grab a quick bite - I didn't have high expectations. It's eggs and bacon and hash browns, so how hard can that be. What I found was OEB and it's a shining star of breakfast deliciousness. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu - so many Bennys; so many poutines. My server recommended the Hog & Scallops - I was a little scared - poutine has always been a side dish for me and scallops for breakfast? Crazy. Since they were Digby scallops and my mum was born in Digby, I knew it was a sign and went for it. WOW! The scallops were cooked to perfection, the hollandaise was the right amount of creamy and tangy and the eggs were perfectly soft - it was the most unctuous bowl of yum ever. My server also suggested a reduced portion of potatoes and substituted with a bed of arugula with just the right amount of pepper flavor. Frankly, I think a full bowl of potatoes would have been too much, so I was really happy with the switch. I can't wait to try OEB on my next trip. read more

Awesome variety on menu. I like the Florentine Benny, the veggie breakfast crêpe and the Scrambled egg burrito. Benny comes with potatoes. Order the veggie potatoes if you don't want them fried in beef tallow. Fruit garnish is additional and worth the price. Large selection of mimosas and speciality coffees. Very friendly and helpful staff. read more

This is the restaurant that reassured my wife and I that we COULD make a home in Calgary after emigrating from Cape Town, South Africa. We love brunch if and OEB is a gastronomer's delight. Exquisitely prepared food with equal detail spent on presentation and a menu filled with exceptional variety that leaves something for everyone. OEB also presents its own characteristic and unique signature to every food option. The restaurant has an energetic and lively heartbeat and the staff really make a concerted effort to enrich your dining experience. OEB brunches have become a religion for our family over the last 6 years. I cannot recommend this place enough. read more

OEB is an experience. An experience you need to have if you come to Calgary! Walking up to this downtown location you'll spot the bright colors of the dining room through the large windows that face the street. Lively and upbeat music is playing, crisp white and egg yolk yellow colored booths in the shape of waffles and eggs stand tall and whimsical, a bustling kitchen with cooks who look like they could burst into song at any moment, and a service team with some of the most inordinately large smiles I've seen dance around the dining room. Imagine a scene out of a movie made in partnership between Disney and the makers of Pee Wee's Playhouse, and you'll catch my drift. What stood out to me right off the bat though, was the LARGE menu featuring a ton of locally sourced goodies including pork from Alberta used to make house-cured bacon and sausages, duck sourced from a nearby province, and more! Looking at the photos, their Boxes (or bowls if enjoyed at the restaurant) are all the rage. Think breakfast poutines made with a base of herby potatotes twice fried in duck fat topped with perfectly poached eggs, brown butter hollandaise, and other assorted condiments like house-cured bacon lardons, duck confit, and pork belly! Pro-Tip: All the boxes come with the potatoes even if it's not listed as an ingredient. I went with the "Gold Digga" which had roasted pork belly and black truffle in addition to the eggs and potatoes. It arrived in all its glory with two perfectly poached eggs on top under a blanket of creamy hollandaise. The pork belly was a real nice upgrade cut into thick cubes that were nicely rendered. Fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a real herbaceous seasoning and that was a bit overwhelming. That said the fry on em really let them stand up to the holandaise. The dish was so hot that the cheese curds had mostly melted upon arrival. Sadly I did not get to taste the squeak my Canadian friends rave about. All that said, I think I ordered the wrong dish for me. The menu is clearly chef-driven (there's rabbit mortadella on the menu and sous vide confit!), and I think while these boxes are surely inspired, if you were to go with one of the more culinarily inspired choices like the duck confit box, wild boar spalla, or duck & egg, I bet you'd have a home run. OEB is a real experience and it's a lot of fun. There was so much goodness on the menu I was sad that I dined solo! The service by Jillian was awesome though, and I really had a nice time sitting in the window and people watching the downtown streets of Calgary. read more

Love the breakfast choices here. Used to always order the Yukon gold. Other interesting options now as well.

Absolutely worth the hype, and I am by no means an egg guy. Saturday brunch was as busy as Saturday brunch gets. My partner and I were willing to walk around 124 St. for 25 minutes or so. Although the hostess estimated a 45 minute wait, no bother they send you a text when some spots open up. I had no problems sitting smack dab in the middle of a crowded bar top. It was loud crowded etc. but the staff held steady. Especially when an unruly guest was getting a little too friendly with the staff, as much as I wanted to throw him through that beautiful gaping window that allows the bright blue Alberta morning sky. He was gently shooed away with courtesy and compassion. I would almost be remiss if that story overtook the quality of eggs. But nah, eggs were hella dope. Shoutout: Breakfast Poutine read more

Good and service were excellent. Ambiance not so much as we were seated at a table in the mall. Still would recommend. I'm

Not only could we sit and talk, but the food and service were also excellent! I made reservations for us. When I arrived early, the table was ready In five minutes. While I waited for the rest of the team, I was offered coffee. We were seated before the entire party arrived. Once the whole team had arrived, we ordered, and our food arrived quickly. It also came quietly as we were talking. The food was beautiful and in good quantity. While we are, our coffee cups never run dry. read more

Was a bit hesitant about going for brunch in the downtown core, but we brought my partner's parents to this OEB location for brunch and it was honestly a perfect outing! We got to sit in the booth thats in the egg, which was so fun and also perfect for a foursome to talk. I had what I always get at OEB - the meatless breakfast poutine (with half of the fries subbed out for greens) - and it was as yummy as ever, and the service was great as well. Will be back! read more

Stopped in for breakfast and I have to say it was FANTASTIC! I ordered the "Threesome"...eggs any style, choice of meat (I had the chicken blueberry bangers) and choice of carb..(I had the waffle). Crispy duck fat potato wedges arrive on the side. Everything was delivered piping hot and crispy! The waiter kept my coffee mug full and the service was pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere is quiet and has pleasant mood music in the background. Perfect for a "business " meeting/meal or leisurely breakfast. read more

Was in Calgary for the weekend and came here twice for brunch! I had to try it out in the original city! The Yelp app made it so easy to add ourselves to the waitlist. We added ourselves when we woke up in the morning and by the time we got ready and walked over (we were staying downtown), we were next in line! The waitlist line was about an hour. Not bad at all! Especially compared to the 3hour+ line in Vancouver! On Saturday I went for the waterfowl (duck) benny. OMG serving it on a croissant instead of english muffin is GENIUS! It was tasty. The duckfat potatos were just as amazing as the OEB in Vancouver. My fiance had the farmer's omelette which was giant. He loved it. Both came with a side of fruit. On Sunday I ordered the golddigger bowl with half argula (I was smarter this time and didnt full potatoes. It's always just too much and I feel gross hahahaha) -- this was what I ordered my first time in Vancouver and I COULD NOT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT! My fiance got the simple french toast with whip syrup and fresh strawberries. We shared both. It was perfect. read more

Great place. Fantastic food, staff, and ambiance. Everyone loved their food. Highly recommend!

Food was excellent and very busy during meal times. A few booths, small tables and a counter in the middle. Portions are generous.

Yelp takes us to the best places. Today it was Over Easy Breakfast. They serve their own eggs, free run. The menu is overwhelming. Everything sounds amazing. I went for a breakfast poutine, Hogs and Scallops. It was a work of art with lots of colour and perfect placement of every element just so. Better yet it tasted amazing. Our waitress was a great as the food. Friendly, quick and efficient. Decor is fun and enjoyable. You can sit at a table inside a sculptural egg. Colours are airy and cheerful. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes read more

Absolutely delicious breakfast at OEB. I'm normally a little indifferent about what to order at breakfast, and only interested in one or two things. Here, I couldn't decide and consulted my server lol. Ended up with the croque madame, which was wonderful! The hollandaise sauce here is great and you can tell it's homemade vs the instant stuff. It's seasoned a little differently too but I can't place it. The croque madame had TRUFFLE in it so you can stop there and take my money. My friend ordered the classic breakfast, which he loved too. The duck fat home fries are crispy and well-seasoned. Would recommend. Would come back! read more

Wow...where do I start!? Best breakfast I've had in a LONG TIME. I came with a group of 14 and we were seated together in about 15 minutes. Everyone was super pleased with their meals. All of the eggs, meat, veggies were SO fresh! I tried the Bloody Ceasar and fell in love! I hate Bloody Mary's but this drink was so light and savory I could have drank 3! I had a hard lemonade which was super tasty and my boyfriend had the mango martini which was also super tasty. I had the crab Benedict and seafood poutine. Oh my goodness- so rich, savory. The hollandaise was very creamy and the flavors of the seafood were perfect as well. I would love to come back here! read more

Consistently Good! OEB has been the OG spot for brunch in Calgary for years! Ive been going here for over 5 years and they are still good! When people ask me my favorite brunch in YYC, OEB is on that list! The reason why its so good is the quality of the food. All the food tastes so good and they do the "poutine" bowl the best here! I always get the meatless to say as I like the avocados and tomatos with my cheesy potatoes! The only thing I would say is that because of how popular it has become, wait times can be insane - even with 3 locations in YYC. I also noticed theyve increased their prices and their portions have gotten a bit smaller. Bit disappointing in that sense, but the quality of the food remains the same! read more

I heard lots of good things about this place from colleagues. So came here for their brunch on a working Thursday with a colleague. We both ordered the same thing. I got the water fowl (noble duck. Nobleford AB)... Smoked Peking duck breast. porcini mushroom-truffle ragu in egg benny style with potatoes wedge. WOW. It sounded so delicious and yes it was delicious. The duck breast meat was not placed on top of the egg benny. But it was placed on the side of the dish. The plate was huge and made the food look like not enough. But it was actually lots of food. Very filling. The décor was really interesting and nice. The entire restaurant revolved around the idea of egg. Pretty cool décor. Service was nice as well. I highly recommend this place. Its a thumbs up. Also remember to come early. The place fills up pretty quickly. read more

Our party of 6 came around 9:45am for breakfast. The lady has offered us a 'egg shaped' table but asked if we could finish eating by 10:30am because she had another party that had request the table. We were okay with that. Our party ordered: - crab eggs benny $21 - traditional breakfast $13 - traditional eggs benny $15 - lobster and shrimp crepe $18 - duck breakfast poutine $18 Our party enjoyed the food greatly. The crab eggs benny was delicious and every bite was full of crab. All the gag are farm fresh so the colour of the egg yolk was exquisite and bright orange. In the end the server said not to worry about rushing to eat and leave before 10:30. It was a little awkward when the server got one of the orders wrong and brought us bacon instead of sausage for the traditional breakfast. She told us to keep the bacon and will bring us the sausage. We began to eat the bacon and she came back with a plate and asked for it back. She then said -"the kitchen asked for it back" - she had to charge us for it on the bill but eventually took it off. It was a little weird but at least they did the right thing in the end. Otherwise it was a delightful place to have breakfast! read more
