    Poutine chicken
    Christine N.

First impressions: clean, big windows, well lit. Everyone here is very nice and polite. Server Alexis was super attentive. Saw that my side of bacon has only 2 instead of 3 and corrected it right away. The Noms: *Chicken poutine: I'm not a big poutine but my brother loves it. The gravy was really good. *Chicken and waffles: the chicken was good. Loved the crust on it. The waffle was OK... it needed more than a small side of maple syrup. *Lemon berry French toast: hands down, one of the best French toasts I've never had. The lemon cream curd cut the sweetness of the berry compost perfectly... There was some kind of brown sugar crumble on the side... it added good texture. The side of bacon added a little bit of saltines that was perfect. In conclusion: the perfect spot for breakfast. If we weren't on a tight schedule and flying out this afternoon, we could take a little time here. All in all, not a disappointing last meal in Canada. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend

Stopped in Calgary on my way to Saskatoon and had to try out this fantastic little place. Received a complimentary quarter waffle and condensed milk with my coffee and we were off to a great start. Decided to go with a healthier fare with the Spanish Chorizo Bowl. It came with two fantastically poached eggs done to perfection and house made guacamole. Service was excellent and even though they get quite busy, you are never felt rushed out the door. Coffee was on point. I can't wait to come back again when I'm in town.

Excellent. We stopped here for brunch after getting into Calgary, and we liked it so much we stopped here 2x more before we left. The atmosphere is great, service was excellent, and of course the food was to die for. We enjoyed everything we tried but my favorite was the cinnamon and apple waffles.

I was in Calgary this year for my birthday and had asked a few people for some recommendations for breakfast, multiple people suggested the Bro'kin Yok. To reserve a table you need to call about an hour or so before and they will call you about 10 - 15 mins before your table to confirm that you are still coming so you don't loose your spot. Great way to do it so there aren't to many people standing around. I am not sure if this is something new due to Covid-19 or if they had this before hand. Walking in you are greeted at the door and shown to your table. The decor is very clean, simple and bright. Everything looks like it is taken care of and in good working quality. There are multiple locations in Calgary, We went to the location at Signal Hill - 5691 Signal Hill Centre SW. The service was top notch both times we went during that trip. I ordered; UPSTREAM BENNY SMOKED SALMON, PICKLED RED ONION, WILTED SPINACH, BASIL HOLLANDAISE This dish was on a waffle instead of an english muffin, The waffle was very sweet, I would prefer the english muffin. My husband ordered this on both days; OPEN FACE AVOCADO SANDWICH AVOCADO, TOMATO, SUNNY-SIDE UP EGG, BALSAMIC REDUCTION ON 9 GRAIN TOAST TOPPED WITH BASIL ARUGULA PURÉE. my husband loved this dish which I actually ordered the next day and was very pleased with this choice and would recommend this all the time. I will now be trying to make sure I visit this restaurant when I am in town.

Where can I start?? We had to wait a bit to get into this restaurant, but it was more then worth it. It's very busy, and their covid-19 protocols are in heavy effect; however it doesn't degrade the service offered at all! We were seated after 20-25 mins, got our orders in and the rest is history as they say! The food was delicious and after perusing their menus it was hard to choose what to have and what to leave for our next visit. What I can say though, is we left well fed and ready for our busy day. And we plan to visit again, there's just too much to try!

I liked everything about this place other than the fact that it is insanely busy. We called ahead to make sure we were on the waitlist, arrived right when they told us to, and still had to wait an additional 20 minutes to sit down. Annoying, but not life-ending. After we sat I thought the service was really great! Our server was actually quite funny, and seemed attentive. It was a busy atmosphere at about 11 AM on a Sunday - to be expected for a breakfast/brunch place. I had the Salmon/Lox Toast and some tomato soup! Very good! Soup was a little bit salty, but I could deal. Toast was great! Coffee was good too! Everyone at my table seemed very pleased with their meal. There is wifi, lots of parking, and other shops in the area. I live in Westhills (well, I do whenever I'm in Cowtown) and it is very close for me, so I could see myself coming back here!

Been twice and both times their was hair in either my food or my friends food. The food wasn't bad but the waffles were soggy af and the bacon tasted funky. The place would also ran by literal CHILDREN. Anyway would probably still eat again cause I'm a hungry bitch.

Great service!! I found the food was fine....they forgot the salmon on one of the two Bennie eggs but they were still delicious.

Originally 4 stars but 5 stars given they professionally remedied the situation…read more I went here on a Tuesday morning for brunch and it was still fairly busy, but I was seated immediately. If you show up after 9am, be prepared to wait a bit or make reservations in advance on Toast to be safe. I tried their newer item, birria de res eggs benedict, which is served on cheese bannock, an indigenous Canadian bread, and opted to sub potatoes/salad for garlic fried rice for 3 CAD surcharge, which is well worth it. The beef was tender and the eggs are perfectly runny and the cheese bannock added heartiness and a more unique texture compared to English muffin. It is a combo of Mexican, indigenous Canadian, and Filipino influences all in 1 dish! To pair with the food, I had a pineapple mimosa which was of good portion. Originally, the dish had hair so I caught it and flagged the issue, so they immediately remade the whole dish for me, apologized, and comped my mimosa so despite losing 10 min of my time, I am okay with this remedy, so I rate this experience for the food and service outside of this incident. This is one of the more innovative and delicious brunch spots I have tried, so it is no surprise this place is fairly hyped up

This place serves very unique brunch menu items. I got the "My Breakfast in Tokyo" and thought it…read morewas alright. It came with thick cut smoked salmon on top of sushi seasoned rice with poached eggs, seaweed, and spinach on the side. The seaweed pieces tasted old and were hard to chew. The seasoned rice had too much vinegar in it. The poached egg and salmon tasted fine. It also came with miso soup but it tasted strange, not sure why there was oil in it... miso soup usually does not contain oil. My fiance got the Breakfast in Manila and thought it was alright as well. The rice was too salty and the sausage tasted like low quality meat. It seemed like they were short on waitresses and it took a while for them to take our order and for us to get the check. This place is also a plant store and it felt cozy. Overall had a decent experience.
