Took my brother here for his birthday. It was my first time here but I have always wanted to try it. There was plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall. We were seated right away. The menu had good breakfast options. I opted for the Seoul-wich with an Arnold Palmer to drink. My bro had the Bro's breakfast with a Bro'kin coffee blend to drink. Both dishes looked great. The Seol-wich was really tasty and a good size. My bro said he enjoyed his meal. Our server Rachel was friendly and attentive. All staff were great. I definitely will come back and try other menu items. read more

I had higher hopes reading other reviews and the photos posted. This was not a win for us. Service was okay, food came out very slow (no they weren't busy). But the flavors and preparation just were not a winning combo for us. It looked prettier than it tasted. The potato hash had zero flavor. Neither of our dishes were particularly hot. The food and overall experience matched what you would get at First Watch, which is what I expect from a chain restaurant but not a local place. read more

The Bro'Kin Yolk - Looks better than it tasted. A long time coming out especially since most of this dish was already prepped and just needed assembly. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Calgary, Alberta

I ordered a late breakfast through Uber and it took them an hour and a half just to get to the restaurant, which meant my food clearly sat there the entire time. By the time it arrived, everything was stone cold. The cheese was literally hard from melting and then going cold, the potatoes were undercooked and raw, and the entire meal was completely inedible. Spending $35 on food that went straight in the garbage is beyond frustrating, it's infuriating. And the $5 "seasonal fruit bowl" looked like someone's picked-over leftovers. A couple random pieces tossed in a container and sent out like that's acceptable? It's honestly disgusting and shows a complete lack of quality control. At this point, I would've been better off ordering McDonald's for a third of the price, because at least it would've shown up hot and edible. This is careless, overpriced, and completely unacceptable. 1STAR. Complete fail. read more

First impressions: clean, big windows, well lit. Everyone here is very nice and polite. Server Alexis was super attentive. Saw that my side of bacon has only 2 instead of 3 and corrected it right away. The Noms: *Chicken poutine: I'm not a big poutine but my brother loves it. The gravy was really good. *Chicken and waffles: the chicken was good. Loved the crust on it. The waffle was OK... it needed more than a small side of maple syrup. *Lemon berry French toast: hands down, one of the best French toasts I've never had. The lemon cream curd cut the sweetness of the berry compost perfectly... There was some kind of brown sugar crumble on the side... it added good texture. The side of bacon added a little bit of saltines that was perfect. In conclusion: the perfect spot for breakfast. If we weren't on a tight schedule and flying out this afternoon, we could take a little time here. All in all, not a disappointing last meal in Canada. Will definitely be back and would definitely recommend read more

Food didn't have much flavor or seasoning. I had the loco moco and the short rib. The short rib was very dry and tasted almost like it had just been boiled, with very little flavor. The waffle tasted mostly like plain flour. Cleanliness was also a concern. Water was served at room temperature instead of cold. My mimosa had visible particles in it, almost like pepper, which made me wonder if the glass was dirty. The top of the soda can was dirty as well. In the washroom, the garbage cans were overflowing, and one of the ketchup packets at the table was sticky. On a positive note, the host and server were very polite and provided good service. However, due to the food quality and cleanliness issues, I would not recommend eating here. read more

Stopped in Calgary on my way to Saskatoon and had to try out this fantastic little place. Received a complimentary quarter waffle and condensed milk with my coffee and we were off to a great start. Decided to go with a healthier fare with the Spanish Chorizo Bowl. It came with two fantastically poached eggs done to perfection and house made guacamole. Service was excellent and even though they get quite busy, you are never felt rushed out the door. Coffee was on point. I can't wait to come back again when I'm in town. read more

This place has it down! As a rule, we do not visit the same place twice on any trip, but we had to return for another super solid breakfast. The food was delicious, well presented, and delivered in a timely manner. The staff worked very well together in an organized way and were polite and friendly. For us the real treat was that we were seated at the counter in front of the cooks. For most people, that's not so fun, but for us it was a great field trip to watch the pros make countless breakfasts go out very smoothly and so chilled. What professionals! Whoever is running this place has put together a dream team in the kitchen. Chill, so chill and so busy, and the food is soo good. Thanks for the great time, worth every penny. read more

Excellent. We stopped here for brunch after getting into Calgary, and we liked it so much we stopped here 2x more before we left. The atmosphere is great, service was excellent, and of course the food was to die for. We enjoyed everything we tried but my favorite was the cinnamon and apple waffles. read more

I was in Calgary this year for my birthday and had asked a few people for some recommendations for breakfast, multiple people suggested the Bro'kin Yok. To reserve a table you need to call about an hour or so before and they will call you about 10 - 15 mins before your table to confirm that you are still coming so you don't loose your spot. Great way to do it so there aren't to many people standing around. I am not sure if this is something new due to Covid-19 or if they had this before hand. Walking in you are greeted at the door and shown to your table. The decor is very clean, simple and bright. Everything looks like it is taken care of and in good working quality. There are multiple locations in Calgary, We went to the location at Signal Hill - 5691 Signal Hill Centre SW. The service was top notch both times we went during that trip. I ordered; UPSTREAM BENNY SMOKED SALMON, PICKLED RED ONION, WILTED SPINACH, BASIL HOLLANDAISE This dish was on a waffle instead of an english muffin, The waffle was very sweet, I would prefer the english muffin. My husband ordered this on both days; OPEN FACE AVOCADO SANDWICH AVOCADO, TOMATO, SUNNY-SIDE UP EGG, BALSAMIC REDUCTION ON 9 GRAIN TOAST TOPPED WITH BASIL ARUGULA PURÉE. my husband loved this dish which I actually ordered the next day and was very pleased with this choice and would recommend this all the time. I will now be trying to make sure I visit this restaurant when I am in town. read more

we came to the restaurant on a Saturday morning looking to try something new for breakfast, other than the usual spot. The first thing we noticed upon entering the restaurant, was the loud ambience. It got to the point where you could not have a conversation with those across the table from you without screaming. This is the main reason why I give it four stars instead of five. The food itself was phenomenal. I had the short rib hash, and my family had the chorizo Benny. Each dish exploded with flavor. It was a pleasure to eat. However, the coffee was burnt, which to most people isn't a big deal, but for those of us that enjoy a solid cup of coffee, burnt coffee is never fun. Service was OK at best. Nothing to write home about, but they did come around consistently offering more coffee and more water and took our dishes at the right time when we finished eating. Overall, I would say we would definitely come back here, but some suggestions for management would be to turn down the music as Service was OK at best. Nothing wrong with background music but I don't want to have to yell at my table in order to have a conversation. read more

Food was amazing and so was the service. Poached egg was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend this place!

Where can I start?? We had to wait a bit to get into this restaurant, but it was more then worth it. It's very busy, and their covid-19 protocols are in heavy effect; however it doesn't degrade the service offered at all! We were seated after 20-25 mins, got our orders in and the rest is history as they say! The food was delicious and after perusing their menus it was hard to choose what to have and what to leave for our next visit. What I can say though, is we left well fed and ready for our busy day. And we plan to visit again, there's just too much to try! read more

Dropped in for lunch before shopping at Superstore. Very busy at 11:30am. Clean restaurant, fast service and nice staff. Very pleasant. We ordered - HOLD THE CARBS PLEASE - TWO FARMED FRESH EGGS, AVOCADO, SPOLUMBO'S CHICKEN & APPLE SAUSAGE, CHOICE OF SALAD. The salad we chose was the Arugula and Beet Salad - Delicious - had apple pieces and goat cheese. Overall, the portions were small but tasty. Even the coffee cup was small. However, overall I enjoyed the whole experience. Apparently they have two other locations in Calgary. read more

I liked everything about this place other than the fact that it is insanely busy. We called ahead to make sure we were on the waitlist, arrived right when they told us to, and still had to wait an additional 20 minutes to sit down. Annoying, but not life-ending. After we sat I thought the service was really great! Our server was actually quite funny, and seemed attentive. It was a busy atmosphere at about 11 AM on a Sunday - to be expected for a breakfast/brunch place. I had the Salmon/Lox Toast and some tomato soup! Very good! Soup was a little bit salty, but I could deal. Toast was great! Coffee was good too! Everyone at my table seemed very pleased with their meal. There is wifi, lots of parking, and other shops in the area. I live in Westhills (well, I do whenever I'm in Cowtown) and it is very close for me, so I could see myself coming back here! read more

Great place for breakfast with quality food. Service is very attentive. Very nice ambiance.

Great service!! I found the food was fine....they forgot the salmon on one of the two Bennie eggs but they were still delicious.

Best breakfast I have had in a very long time. I ordered the chorizo breakfast bowl and it was outstanding. Lots of chorizo, eggs poached perfectly. YUM!! Service was great. I will definitely be back. read more

Went to this location for the first time today and I can assure you there will be many more visits if this keeps up. Cute modern decor, very busy but seems well organized. The service from Krista was fantastic. Our coffee cups were never empty or neglected which is a big plus for me, plus she offered us a last cup or coffee to go upon paying our bill!!! This never happens! Usually once you pay your bill, you cant visit over a cup of coffee because once you have paid you are invisible. Not here! The food had great options available. Lots of GF and vegan options on the menu as well. Prices average. We had the farmers breakfast and very berry french toast and both were fantastic. The waitress was great at explaining options to us and explained that their bacon is not your average.. but more of a filipino style... and it was AMAZING. Not what you could expect... totally different - but worth a try and delicious. I will be back for more. We couldnt stop talking about what a great experience it was. Glad these guys are in the neighborhood because theyre doing it oh so right! read more

Excellent food here and good/friendly service, I'd definitely recommend the sweet bacon it may be the best bacon I've ever had in a restaurant and the homemade sausage is very good. make sure to phone in a reservation as the restaurant is 4 months old and there is a 1 hour wait to get in... worth the wait! read more

We ordered the farmers breakfast and the lemon berry French toast with the idea to share everything between the 2 of us. I'm not much of a sweets person but I have to say the lemon curd stuff was so good. I could eat it with a spoon. The farmers breakfast, which we've had before was great. The apple sausage had a great snap and the bacon is thick cut. We ordered through Skip and even taking into account how food kind of looses something during the travel time, we would highly recommend trying this place read more

Went for brekkie and I have to say it was ok!! I had a breakfast bowl wth bacon, soft egg and extra hollandaise sauce! Service is great. Smiling accommodating staff that is always refilling coffee (excellent!). I had the fried spam breakfast and it was divine. They have this spicy ketchup sauce that comes with it and it's insanely good. They also have this candied fried bacon and candied fried sausage which is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Order that on the side-you will thank me later. read more

I was so excited On Mother's Day. Bought take out for my wife and I, received my confirmation and drove to pick it up. The store was quite busy and the very friendly server advised that they were a little backed up and would need an extra 30 minutes. She took the make of my car and said they would bring it out. 40 minutes later I received a call telling me my order would be another hour after already waiting at the restaurant. I cancelled my order and the person said that someone would call me back to properly apologize which never happened. Really disappointed from.a restaurant that has always had great service. read more

Awesome food. Excellent service. I bring my staff here for birthday breakfast. Always a big hit.

Excellent services, friendly staff and good selections for brunch. Location on the hilltop is very refreshing for an early morning start.

Our group of 4 had brunch at Bro'kin Yolk Signal Hill last weekend and all of us highly recommend it. I ordered the Upstream (smoked salmon) Benny and loved it - the salmon was firm and well smoked, the sauce smooth and the eggs were pouched perfectly. Two of us ordered the Bacon Benny and the fourth ordered the Oscar Benny and each enjoyed theirs as much as I did. The restaurant was full for our visit however the numerous staff were able to provide prompt and efficient service. The restaurant does not offer reservations however they provide a telephone wait list option that helps estimate wait time and places you on the list and confirms by text - further information on their website. read more

Signal Hill and Westhills are my normal shopping neighbourhood for sure and I had noticed the Bro'Kin Yolk shortly after it opened. Never took the time to visit until yesterday. Was greeted at the door and immediately seated. The menu was varied and featured a few brekkie combo I hadn't seen before. After a tough decision between the french toast sweet treat options and savour delights like a chorizo hash, I finally settled on a smoked salmon bennie. The bennies are served on a in-house prepared waffle. The meal came quickly and was a delightful taste treat combining the smoked salmon with 2 poached eggs red onion, spinach and hollandaise sauce. The service was attentive and the server was quick to make sure I had extra hot water and milk for my breakfast tea. I would certainly recommend Bro'Kin Yolk to friends. Jenn J read more

I'd have a more positive review had we not been turned away by the hostess at the front door. Her reasoning? They were out of product. I'm sorry. What?? How does a restaurant not have product? A sign on the door would have been a better plan, so we didn't feel the embarrassment of having other diners wonder what we had done wrong upon being turned away. I get that they might have been busy earlier in the day, and knowing that they just got the go ahead to reopen for in person dining, but were previously open for take out. So there still should be product. A frustrating first attempt to have a meal there. Not sure if a second go will be happening.. read more

Walked in to a nice cozy place on a cold winter morning the staff immediately greeted me and my father was very different from a typical restaurant as you could see them preparing food. The waffles and everything looked fresh and tasted fresh. The Hash-browns were the best as they are cooked in duck fat with a sprinkle of sugar on top for more flavour, staff was 10/10 very friendly and accommodating to me our waitress Krista gave us great service and even though its a bit pricey definitely worth the price will be coming back again! read more
