I ordered a late breakfast through Uber and it took them an hour and a half just to get to the restaurant, which meant my food clearly sat there the entire time. By the time it arrived, everything was stone cold. The cheese was literally hard from melting and then going cold, the potatoes were undercooked and raw, and the entire meal was completely inedible. Spending $35 on food that went straight in the garbage is beyond frustrating, it's infuriating. And the $5 "seasonal fruit bowl" looked like someone's picked-over leftovers. A couple random pieces tossed in a container and sent out like that's acceptable? It's honestly disgusting and shows a complete lack of quality control. At this point, I would've been better off ordering McDonald's for a third of the price, because at least it would've shown up hot and edible. Took my brother here for his birthday. It was my first time here but I have always wanted to try it. There was plenty of parking as it's in a strip mall. We were seated right away. The menu had good breakfast options. I opted for the Seoul-wich with an Arnold Palmer to drink. My bro had the Bro's breakfast with a Bro'kin coffee blend to drink. Both dishes looked great. The Seol-wich was really tasty and a good size. My bro said he enjoyed his meal. Our server Rachel was friendly and attentive. All staff were great. Food didn't have much flavor or seasoning. I had the loco moco and the short rib. The short rib was very dry and tasted almost like it had just been boiled, with very little flavor. The waffle tasted mostly like plain flour. Cleanliness was also a concern. Water was served at room temperature instead of cold. My mimosa had visible particles in it, almost like pepper, which made me wonder if the glass was dirty. The top of the soda can was dirty as well. In the washroom, the garbage cans were overflowing, and one of the ketchup packets at the table was sticky. On a positive note, the host and server were very polite and provided good service. Stopped in Calgary on my way to Saskatoon and had to try out this fantastic little place. Received a complimentary quarter waffle and condensed milk with my coffee and we were off to a great start. Decided to go with a healthier fare with the Spanish Chorizo Bowl. It came with two fantastically poached eggs done to perfection and house made guacamole. This place has it down! As a rule, we do not visit the same place twice on any trip, but we had to return for another super solid breakfast. The food was delicious, well presented, and delivered in a timely manner. The staff worked very well together in an organized way and were polite and friendly. For us the real treat was that we were seated at the counter in front of the cooks. For most people, that's not so fun, but for us it was a great field trip to watch the pros make countless breakfasts go out very smoothly and so chilled. What professionals! It got to the point where you could not have a conversation with those across the table from you without screaming. This is the main reason why I give it four stars instead of five. The food itself was phenomenal. I had the short rib hash, and my family had the chorizo Benny. Each dish exploded with flavor. It was a pleasure to eat. However, the coffee was burnt, which to most people isn't a big deal, but for those of us that enjoy a solid cup of coffee, burnt coffee is never fun. Service was OK at best. Nothing to write home about, but they did come around consistently offering more coffee and more water and took our dishes at the right time when we finished eating. I was in Calgary this year for my birthday and had asked a few people for some recommendations for breakfast, multiple people suggested the Bro'kin Yok. To reserve a table you need to call about an hour or so before and they will call you about 10 - 15 mins before your table to confirm that you are still coming so you don't loose your spot. Where can I start?? We had to wait a bit to get into this restaurant, but it was more then worth it. It's very busy, and their covid-19 protocols are in heavy effect; however it doesn't degrade the service offered at all! We were seated after 20-25 mins, got our orders in and the rest is history as they say! Went to this location for the first time today and I can assure you there will be many more visits if this keeps up. Cute modern decor, very busy but seems well organized. The service from Krista was fantastic. Our coffee cups were never empty or neglected which is a big plus for me, plus she offered us a last cup or coffee to go upon paying our bill!!! This never happens! Usually once you pay your bill, you cant visit over a cup of coffee because once you have paid you are invisible. Not here! The food had great options available. Lots of GF and vegan options on the menu as well. Prices average. We had the farmers breakfast and very berry french toast and both were fantastic. The waitress was great at explaining options to us and explained that their bacon is not your average.. but more of a filipino style... and it was AMAZING. Not what you could expect... totally different - but worth a try and delicious. I will be back for more. We couldnt stop talking about what a great experience it was. The store was quite busy and the very friendly server advised that they were a little backed up and would need an extra 30 minutes. Our group of 4 had brunch at Bro'kin Yolk Signal Hill last weekend and all of us highly recommend it. I ordered the Upstream (smoked salmon) Benny and loved it - the salmon was firm and well smoked, the sauce smooth and the eggs were pouched perfectly. Two of us ordered the Bacon Benny and the fourth ordered the Oscar Benny and each enjoyed theirs as much as I did. The restaurant was full for our visit however the numerous staff were able to provide prompt and efficient service. Signal Hill and Westhills are my normal shopping neighbourhood for sure and I had noticed the Bro'Kin Yolk shortly after it opened. Never took the time to visit until yesterday. Was greeted at the door and immediately seated. The menu was varied and featured a few brekkie combo I hadn't seen before. After a tough decision between the french toast sweet treat options and savour delights like a chorizo hash, I finally settled on a smoked salmon bennie. The bennies are served on a in-house prepared waffle. The meal came quickly and was a delightful taste treat combining the smoked salmon with 2 poached eggs red onion, spinach and hollandaise sauce. Walked in to a nice cozy place on a cold winter morning the staff immediately greeted me and my father was very different from a typical restaurant as you could see them preparing food. The waffles and everything looked fresh and tasted fresh.
