This is the third time I've eaten at Oceanside Broiler. We sat outside and as usual, service was just ok and slow. My food was not hot, not delicious, and was very expensive. I ordered the macadamia crusted mahi mahi. The crust, when I could find it, was soggy, the loaded mashed potatoes were bland. They needed oomph, like parmesan cheese, spice, or something. The vegetables were ok, nothing spectacular. All that for $32, though the menu outside has a different price. I won't be going back. read more

Hubby made an online res for our 22nd Anniversary. He called once they were open to make sure we were confirmed and to ask for a nice location. "Yes sir, I have you by the window". Yeah not. However, the waterfront tables that used to be sheltered from the sun with umbrellas are now bare as the umbrellas are absent and or tattered. Come on folks, pick up your game and get some new umbrellas for your loyal customers. My family and I decided to skip Joe's Crab Shack for a local venue, expecting a higher quality experience. When we arrived at 6p.m. Sunday afternoon and the place had just a few guests, my instinct told me we should walk out. Instead we waited about 10 minutes to be seated (did I say the place was empty?) and glanced at the menu. Pricing is high and the options are very limited. I ordered salmon fish and chips with cole slaw and sweet potato fries. When it arrived the fries were visibly burnt and the slaw had no flavor and had no chill to it. My husband's swordfish was overcooked and my little girl didn't like one thing on her plate so I had to figure out an alternative meal for her on the way back to our room. This place is not a good option for young children. I do not recommend the Brolier. read more

We were so looking forward to having dinner at the harbor with friends. Sadly it was not a good experience. The place has no ambiance at all. The special advertised was Talapia prepared 2 different ways. My friend and myself ordered it only to have the waiter return saying they had run out of talapia. And we were there at 6pm. I then asked if I could have clams but over angel hair instead of linguine. He left and returned to say they had no angel hair. We had ordered a starter plate that was OK. My husband and his friend had fish and chips and they were OK. My other friend had salmon that she said was good. I had an order of asparagus and they were good. It would have been nice had the manager come over and apologize for not having the special that was still being advertised but no one came and nothing was offered. My girlfriends and I were staying nearby for a weekend getaway and were looking for a good Sunday Brunch spot. Luckily this place was within walking distance of where we were staying, and after checking out the other reviews and the restaurant website we decided to give it a chance. We were definitely NOT disappointed! First of all, the selection of food was amazing! There were so many incredible seafood choices, as well as a carving station, chilaquiles, fajitas, omelettes made to order, desserts, fruits, and salads. There were four of us in our party, one who isn't a seafood fan, and one with Celiac, and there were plenty of choices to accommodate both restrictions, we each had 3 plates of food and certainly got our moneys worth. For $28 this brunch can't be beat, and only $6 for a bottle of champagne! Our server, Cathy, was such a sweetheart and took great care of us, she even had fresh bread baked up for our table when one of my friends was wanting something to dip in her ciopinno. First time here and its Mother's Day. I wanted to take my wife somewhere special. After calling to make reservations 2 weeks prior and followed up yesterday to confirm reservations, they could not locate my name on the list when we arrived this morning. I was very annoyed, especially when the host didn't acknowledge the oversight on their part. We were still given a table but next to the door that lead to their outside seating area...not the best table. The food was ok, but definitely not worth the $77 price tag for the two of us. Our server was nice. I will come back to try their happy hour but will never come back for their brunch. Another 5 minutes before she came back to get our drink order & bringing us the regular menu. Another 10 minutes, she comes back to take our order but we pay for our drinks to go eat inside, because we are already here & eager to eat. We get seated inside and it takes the waitress 5 minutes to come and give us the main menu & get our water order. A second server came to ask if we've been helped & we tell her yes but we're ready to order because we're starving. We also notice that they served bread to the table across from us but we weren't offered bread? Their grilled mahimahi & shrimp/ cod fish chip combo were okay. You're definitely paying for the view. My wife and I have been going here for years, we love this place, the food has always been good, and the service has been exceptional Except this last time! It started when I almost swallowed 3 bugs that were served to me in a drink. The bugs were in my mouth, I thought it was a glass chip from the glass, I spit it out to find 3 flys (these were in my mouth) The manager brought me a new drink and told me that this never happens here. No apology, no offer of a free drink, just a confrontational attitude! OK Then I ordered swordfish which arrived raw in the center, totally raw! I sent it back and the next piece of fish came and was still a little raw in the center and very smelly fishy. My wife ordered the shrimp skewer and was picking out the poop shoots. When the waitress approached she was very nice and said "let me get the manager" The manager told me that the shrimp had not been properly de-veined and they always cook their swordfish medium rare. I explained that it was totally raw, he said "in our perspective that fish was perfect" I asked if the customers perspective meant anything to him and that is when he got confrontational and aggressive.
