This place has a great happy hour and during the covid diaries we have come to know and love their outdoor patio. Solid beer selection. Ahi nachos are LEGIT. Like I could easily eat two of them and keep wanting more. They are delicious! High quality fish and beautiful presentation. Classic chowder is great. Fish taco is great. Truffle fries are great. If you're in the mood for a more intimate setting, move to the front and try their dinner menu. The Ceasars salad , short rib, herb crusted pacific snapper and wine list are all wonderful. read more

I have gone to King's Seafood Restaurant and The Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Restaurants. Wanted a little "change of pace" but still have seafood....So I took my friend from Minneapolis, Minnesota to the Oceanside Broiler at the Oceanside Marina. He is an avid fisherman so wanted to make sure that it met his "high standards" for fresh fish....I ordered the Mixed Combo of Coconut Shrimp and Fish and Chips. He ordered the Fish & Chips. I also tried the 3 Eastern Oyster on Half Shell for an appetizer. I thought that since we live on the West Coast they would have the Pacific Oyster...but sadly no ...While the Eastern Oysters were fresh they were extremely over priced for an Oyster barely the size of a teaspoon!! Not really that good either. But the Combo Plate of Coconut Shrimp and Fish & Chips definitely hit it out of the park!! Wow..huge portions of everything and absolutely delicious!! My friend's order of Fish & Chips was delicious...and this was from someone who knows fish!! We both had sweet Ice Tea and it was perfect for the meal. I picked up the tab and tip and felt that considering the portions and the fresh taste and incredible good service it was a winner...the only exception were the Oysters. The overall atmosphere was somewhat "marred" by a non- service dog that was barking most of the time....but when I mentioned something about it to our waiter it was taken care of...and quiet. Very disappointed in our time here. Our waitress Andrea was rude. She rushed us every time when we would try to order or ask for straws. She would talk to us as she was walking away. My husband and I decided to try a new place and were sadly disappointed. It started right from the beginning with his Mai Tai being really watered down. Crab cake was ok nothing special and was served on a big bed of lettuce just to fill up the plate. I got a bowl of the new England clam chowder which was watery, full of vegetables, potatoes, bacon and very little clams. On to dinner, husband got the swordfish which was way over cooked and no flavor at all. I got the half and half with the "famous", "must have" coconut shrimp, it was also over cooked, had little to no coconut taste. The cod was mushy and the breading was bland, not even salt and pepper. The fries were over cooked and even the coleslaw had no flavor. We got creme Brule for dessert, with this, it was good except they put to much sugar on top and over torched it. We will never be back. I don't know why this place had such high reviews. Save your money and eat elsewhere. read more

We went last night at 5:40 and had a cocktail in the bar. Outside table was ready 20 minutes later with beautiful view of the boats in the water. Oysters were great and so were the coconut shrimps~ For dinner we had scallops and crusted salmon which was excellent! I honestly have NO idea why the brunch has ANY bad reviews. For $28 you get tons of delicious seafood, omelet station, carving station, salads, all the typical breakfast foods, Mexican foods, A CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN WITH TONS OF DIPPING AND DUNKING OPTIONS, and sooooo much more. A STEAL! Bottles of champagne were only $6. MIMOSAS! As foods ran out, they made sure to refill them immediately. The presentation was fine. For a $28 seafood brunch buffet, don't expect the presentation of a $60+ Vegas buffet. The clams and mussels were pretty spot on tasty. The French toast was moist and not dried out. Shrimp cocktail was perfect...not chewy. TIP: dont stand by the chocolate fountain dipping your desserts one by one. That's newb status. Grab one of the sauce containers and let the chocolate pour into it. That way you can grab all your fave desserts and do the dipping at your table. You can also use that chocolate container for your waffles/French toast/pancakes. That's right...this is not my first rodeo. Our server was amazing! She was super polite and made sure our needs were met. The view was great. The locals were great company. I left with my gut overly satisfied and counting down to my next trip down there. In my 30+ years of going to brunch buffets, this was by far the MOST worth it (see one of the "bad" brunch reviews. At least I gave specifics.) If I were to criticize anything, the mahi was dry but it's mahi...I've never ever had good mahi. The manager guy gave me attitude about having to-go bread, which our server got us because I asked where the bread was at the buffet. They had just ran out and were baking more. By the time they were done, so was I. I had NO room for bread. She felt bad so she packed up some fresh bread for us. That was super nice of her. We had our son and daughter in laws rehearsal luncheon this past week for about 40 people. I have to tell you, the manager Jesse in getting this setup and Warren for following up the day before to see if there was anything we needed were great. Our servers Jenifer and Carrie were awesome. But still...if you are going to charge $47 dollars for a dry piece of filet mignon and two tiny crab legs... please make it worth it. This place is great to enjoy happy hour on the patio! Lots of appetizer menu choices & drinks at reasonable prices! Went for dinner here a couple weeks ago and was relatively underwhelmed. The waitress claimed that 20 tables came in all at the same time and threw off the groove. Shouldn't that be expected at dinnertime? We had to wait forever for bread to come out of the oven. My excitement of seeing the freshly baked (and delicious) bread while walking to our table died when my stomach started yelling at me. You know when you're just kind of hungry but you see delicious food and then suddenly you haven't eaten in a week and you're about to die of starvation? Yeah, that was me. Get the calamari. Trust me. It's so good. I tasted the New England clam chowder and it was pretty good, not super salty. 2 of us ordered the fish & chips, great choice. One friend ordered the wedge salad, skip that one. Outback has a much better wedge than the one I saw across the table from me. Overall, I'd probably go here again to try out their happy hour food. The bread was delicious, it just took too long. I'm an Oceanside local but never make it to the broiler. Today my boyfriend and I decided to give it a go and it was such a nice experience. The bartender was attentive, hilarious and super polite. He recommend some happy hour food to try and I must say he did not disappoint. At all costs, get the chowder. I don't care that it's 90 degrees outside, YOU NEED IT. Its honestly pretty good and I've been a harbor fish and chips chowder girl all my life so I feel like that says something. We split three small plates and each had two drinks for $48 before tip which to me is a great deal. While my boyfriend did not love all the food we both agreed that the service would definitely have us coming back for more. The staff is great, it's mellow, and the view is excellent. I'm a fan of the happy hour- particularly the sweet but satisfying $4 Mai Tai - and was impressed by the wide selection of discounted snacks and drinks during dusk. Of the happy hour snack menu, I tried the calamari, the ceviche and the fish taco- none of which were remarkable. The deep fried calamari strips were the best of the three. Absolutely Excellent choice for a Sunday Buffet Brunch. Visiting the area and found this place by chance. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Food was nicely arranged and everything was tasty. I was impressed that there were plenty of fish and chicken choices since I don't eat pork. You get a bottle of champagne as opposed to waiting for someone to refill your glass. My husband and I came for a friends birthday on a Sunday! Their brunch was seriously to die for! They had everything from chicken and waffles to Chopin to blackened salmon and biscuits and gravy! Their food was delicious and at $26 it was well worth it. The restaurant itself was beautiful, clean and had outside patio seating where you got a gorgeous view of the harbor. Their bloody Mary's were average. Lacking on the flavor side. The service was fantastic! We had a great server named Bailey! She was so on top of it and was great. I used to be a server so I get picky with my servers reviews. She listened to our huge party of demands for drinks, spoons and whatever else and was quick and had a great smile! Ate here for the first time today with my wife. We were seated right away facing the ocean. Our server was Carly. She was nice and attentive. The drink and main menu are very limited. I could not find a beer I liked as it was mostly craft. I settled on a burger as there were no steak options. The burger was ok although they claimed they did not have Jack cheese(its on the chicken sandwich), the fries were good. My wife had a Cobb salad which was just ok. The staff was friendly and helpful, my folks liked the food and the coffee was good. Made reservations for 14 at 7:00 for a 50th Birthday Dinner tonight. Everything went well as far as the seating then it went downhill from there. We had a big hair in a salad, and the waitress said I just won't charge you for the salad. three of our group didn't get their salad until we complained. Then at least 20 minutes after ordering our meal, the waitress came and said they had no more mashed potatoes. Three of us had to make other choices while the rest of our party ate dry stiff mashed potatoes. Several members ordered filet mignon, but some were very rare while others were over cooked. Some had gravy poured over them but others didn't. The person who's birthday it was had steak and lobster but it steak was well done but he likes it rare. After complaining to the mgr. for the second time, he finally offered to help out. He gave us a free meal after our tab came in at a figure of over $400 + Don't think we will return soon. read more

The location can't be beat, right on the harbor it's beautiful but the food is not a must have. It's really say because the location is amazing and I used to go to the restaurant when it used to be Monterey Bay Canners but the food is not the same. The menu is too pricey for the quality. If you do go here, go during happy hour because you don't want to pay full price! We ordered the calamari which was horrible...it's not the good fried calamari with the hard cornmeal crust, it's tempura friend and when you take a bite the whole piece comes out and the outside is soggy. The French fries had way too much rosemary on them and the shredded Parmesan was not mixed in well. The chicken lettuce wraps were pretty good. The clam chowder I was mostly disappointed about! I remember Monterey Bay had the best clam chowder! I'm sure it's different owners and chefs but if your going to be a restaurant on the water and offer clam chowder it's got to be good!
