Marina view from the out door seating

Came to the Oceanside Broiler to celebrate my friend's bday. What a lovely afternoon. Service was top notch, food was great. They have an all day type happy hour menu. We tried the following, ahi nachos, fried zucchini, coconut shrimp, mini cheese burger, tuna avocado sandwich, clam chowder, the wedge salad and oysters. Everything was delicious. We ate everything. The service was stellar. Location lovely, outside seating over looks the Marina. Give them a try!

Still a good place for afternoon cocktails and people watching if, weather permitting, you can sit outside. CritDicks

We went here today. Looking for something decent and quick. . It has nice view of the water. We sat in outside patio area. The food was sustainable. I enjoyed my chicken lettuce wraps. Fish combo has a generous size. They have a long happy hour 11-6 , and til 8:30pm. Our services was hospitable. Parking near by.

What an incredible experience! A stunning waterfront restaurant with amazing seafood, a fun coastal vibe, and an absolutely outstanding staff. Angie and her team went above and beyond, bringing out all their favorites -- the snapper, fish and chips, and a fantastic spread of appetizers that had everyone at the table raving. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We were celebrating Lucciano's graduation from the Marines, and this was the perfect place to do it. From the service to the food to the setting, everything exceeded our expectations. Can't recommend this spot enough for celebrations, family gatherings, or just a great meal by the water!

Happy Hour starting at 11am? Oh, yeah! We sat on the patio and had a beautiful view of the harbor. Our server, I think her name was Katie, was friendly, helpful and attentive. To drink, we ordered a glass of chardonnay and a bloody mary. My bloody mary was spicy and had a good kick! To eat, we tried the calamari, fried zucchini, the wedge salad and the ahi poke nachos. The calamari were big, plump strips of calamari battered and deep fried. They were fresh and tasty. The zucchini was fresh and had a panko-ish breading and also deep fried. The wedge salad was just the right size for a small entree (after having fried food) and the poke was delicious as well. My only complaint was the pickled ginger on the poke, not a fan. We will definitely be going back to try more of the happy hour options...there were a lot! 10/10

This is an old school establishment in the harbor with pretty views and seating inside and out. When you walk in, you can tell it's frequented by locals. People swear by the happy hour. I have been here a few times. Once pre covid for a breakfast buffet and the other times for happy hours. I have always enjoyed what I ordered. They have specials by the day and they send email specials if you subscribe. 3 of us came for dinner on this occasion. They had a $10 off salmon coupon and I just ordered happy hour specials. We all had a drink, a hh margarita, beer & a virgin mango drink. The server was beyond nice and accommodating. My friends each ordered coconut crusted salmon which looked pretty and tasted good. They both enjoyed every bite. I had a Caesar salad which was good but had a touch too much dressing and steamed clams. The clams were cooked well and a generous portion but there were a few that were unopened. The server continued to check on us frequently and kept our water filled. I will definitely come back sunset happy hour here is really nice!

This was my second visit with my last being two years ago. I had a blueberry vodka lemonade. It had a good amount of liquor. We ordered spinach dip but since we didn't specify, it came with our food. I had the shrimp quesadilla. It was very good. I like that the shrimp were chopped. My husband ordered the linguini with clam sauce. He wasn't really happy with his choice. The pasta was overcooked. A number of clams were empty. However the taste of the dish was good. Sitting on the patio with views is amazing. We will go back and try more options. The server did apologize for the miscommunication.

Great happy hour and right on the harbor. Nice to grab a little appetizer and drink before walking along the harbor. Great service and staff. They have HH daily til 6pm.

Happy hour: Calamari Tempura, Sauteed Chilean Mussels, Ahi Nachos (sauce on the side, extra charge for avocado)

Classic Oside spot. A bit grungy, harbor views, and standard American fare. Definitely worth checking out if you're in Oside. Parking is plentiful in the lot or on the street. Walk down the street after to see the Oceanside sign. They boast a happy hour every day from 11 AM to 6 PM. It feels gimmicky, kind of like those sushi places that are perpetually 50% off. Food was decent for what it is.

Picked this place randomly while visiting the area. No reservation needed. Sat outside next to the water, beautiful setting. The lemon cream sauce on the red snapper was the cherry on the cake! So delicious! Pilaf was done perfectly. Only complaint, my veggies were on the hard side. Daily special was a tad fishy but you'll get that with Sea Bass. Service was exceptionally fast and on point! Will definitely return if in the area.

Nice happy hour, As soon as I sat down at the bar, the bartender greeted me and I ordered a glass of wine. The happy hour Pinot Gratio was pretty good, better than some of the other happy hour wines I've had. I also ordered a crab cake, it didn't have as much crab as I thought it should have for $11 each, but the flavors were good and I enjoyed the salsa on top. The clam chowder was good, well, seasoned and creamy all the things you like in the clam chowder. It was pretty good for happy hour, and I was satisfied when I left. The bartender was attentive and served everything with a smile.

Oceanside Broiler's happy hour kicks off at 11am (bless) with plenty of $6-$12 plates and drinks. We had Baja fried fish tacos, oysters, and some chowder... food was decent, nothing mind-blowing, but it came out fast. The real star? That gorgeous harbor view and sunny outdoor seating. Yes, the wood inside is a little sticky, but that's part of the old-harbor charm. Bonus points for the dog-friendly front patio. I'll keep coming back for cheap drinks and harbor view!

Food is good specially the calamari. We had the swordfish and it also taste good. The service we received from Jorge is splendid. I would rate our weekend lunch experience with 4.3

Is the Sunday brunch a buffet? There's no info about it on their website. What are the brunch times, and how much per adult?

How's the clam chowder?

Clamp chowder is very full of clams,, and quite good

How is the calamari?

It's actually very good and fresh. Not rubbery like some places. My party loved it

Do they take reservations? Thanks to the crew here on Yelp - yes they do. The only caveat is that they only take reservations for larger parties. Table for 4 is just a walk in.

Yes, they do take reservations although I haven't needed a reservation for lunch but dinner can sometimes be very busy.

What time and days is happy hour?

I know there is happy hour every day, but I think the times changed

Does this have outdoor seating and beach views?

Yes, they have a nice patio area. In the front of the restaurant and a large side patio area. They are pet friendly. We had a fabulous lunch and the service outstanding. The view of the boats was a beautiful scene and relaxing

We arrived early for our reservation, so we walked the pier while we waited, and I appreciated that they texted us once our table was ready. One thing to note is they close on the earlier side at 9 p.m. The ambiance was really nice too -- definitely on the fancier side, but not so fancy that it felt stuffy or uncomfortable. We started with the hot sourdough bread and maple spice butter, which was addicting. I also ordered the wedge salad and liked that the blue cheese wasn't overly pungent. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly and very tender, though I do wish it came out hotter since it was basically room temperature when served. The whipped potatoes were buttery and creamy, and the short rib was rich, flavorful, and fall-apart tender. The creamed spinach could've used more salt in my opinion. They were definitely heavy-handed on the spices as the spicy kick at the end caught me off guard. We ended the night with the flourless chocolate cake and wow... definitely worth the calories. Service was also great. Leo was attentive throughout the meal, and his team always made sure our waters stayed full. Solid spot for a girls' night or date night in Oceanside.

I asked for fresh coffee because the coffee I was originally served was cold. Not only was the issue never corrected promptly, but I was completely forgotten about again while waiting for a new cup. Our order had already been taken, yet after 35 minutes we still had not received a salad, fresh coffee, or even a simple update from our server. To make matters worse, I was moved downstairs again to another small table directly beside the service station, which made the experience feel even more uncomfortable and unwelcoming. After being moved, I was then asked if I had brought my silverware with me. At that point, after already being ignored and waiting excessively, that comment was the last straw. I spoke with the manager on duty and was told the server was new and management was "trying to push him." While I understand new employees need training, placing an inexperienced server on a busy Saturday night without proper support is poor management. Instead of helping the server succeed, it pushed customers away. What was most shocking was that after all of this, I was actually asked why I was leaving. Seriously? After cold coffee, forgotten service, a 35-minute wait with no food, being moved to an undesirable table by the service station, and being asked about my silverware, the reason should have been obvious. Customers should not be made to feel ignored, inconvenienced, or like an afterthought. This experience was unacceptable, and I hope management takes this complaint seriously and reevaluates both customer service standards and how staff are supported during busy hours.

He guided us through the menu and recommended ordering a variety of dishes to share from each category, which turned out to be a great suggestion. We started with the tomato appetizer, cornbread, and the standout dish of the night--the incredible head of broccoli. For our mains, our son and daughter-in-law shared the roasted chicken, while my husband and I shared the pork chop. Every dish was exceptional, but the broccoli truly stole the show--even my husband, who rarely eats vegetables, loved it. Walk-ins usually end up sitting at the communal high top tables. It isn't too bad but a tiny bit uncomfortable for people on the shorter side (like me). The ambiance is fine glamping style so you do want to be just a teeny bit dressed up. Dressing as if you were camping won't quite work in this restaurant. The servers are nice enough but the place is quite loud so you really have to yell to hear each other. My friend and I ordered a bunch of things to share. We got the tomato, the carrot, the broccoli, and the pork belly. I ordered one of their newer ciders but it tasted more like beer than a cider. Among the shareables, the broccoli (which is the most popular) was actually our least favorite. My friend's top choice was the tomato and mine was a very very close tie between the carrot and the pork belly. Those three dishes were unique, absolutely delicious, very different from each other and had a medley of different flavors. The broccoli unfortunately was too oily and felt heavy and single flavor dominant. It wasn't bad but I can't quite see why people aren't about the other clearly superior dishes. We didn't get dessert here because it didn't speak to us. Pricing wise, it is on the pricier side. I guess that is expected for Carlsbad and given who owns this restaurant. Parking is in the public parking lot behind the restaurant.

We settled on Oceanside in hopes of finding good food, as our weekend (end of Feb) had been full of a poor results. This place came up as very well rated on Yelp, as my friend and I searched for places to eat. It was a Saturday night with great weather. The red flag I should have read into was that the lone guy working that night was a one man show. He was doing it all in the front of the house. I tried to get us a table to sit outdoors but he just couldn't get to the table to clean it. After about 20 minutes he finally came and just moved all the bowls to the empty table next to it and wiped it down. When my friends finally arrived we all sat down to sticky menus that had NO descriptions. What you see on the website is exactly what they have on the menu. We had to wait to ask the server/host what each menu item meant. It took a while to get our food from when we ordered. Thank goodness for good company, I didn't clock it. The food options were limited and keep in mind for those who have children, most of the options come with a spicy kick, you'll have to explicitly tell them "no spicy"! There was a party who had been sitting for a while before we got there and a kiddo took a bite of pizza and was crying, screaming from it being so spicy. With my ramen the portions are tiny for what you pay, with 1 piece of meat, not enough noodles. Flavor wise it was spicy and bland. We ordered a couple appetizers which were not very good. The edamame was overly salty and soaked in soy sauce and the karaage was probably the only good thing and that was a little overfried. No one in our party finished our food or took any of the leftovers home. Save yourself the trip, not worth trying the "unique foods".
