Probably one of the best sushi places I've been to. Love this place! All the food is delicious

Beautifully decorated sushi and Asian fusion restaurant located in a strip mall shared with Silver Dollar Casino. We came here for lunch the day after 4th of July. Service was very warm and attentive. She brought out forks for the kids and chopsticks for the adults without asking or waiting for us to ask. We all agreed their miso soup, accented with mushrooms, was the best we've ever had. The agadashi tofu was just ok. Probably wouldn't order again. My youngest ordered a simple bowl of white rice and it came out shaped as a tower with finely chopped green onion garnish. Smiles all around. The dragon balls were a very pleasant surprise. I have never liked stuffed jalapeños but my husband enjoys them so he was eager to try. I reluctantly tried one and wow...yes it is spicy but the tempura complimented the jalapeño nicely and the crab and sriracha topping were really good. We ordered 5 rolls, all with soy wrap, which arrived beautifully plated on a wooden boat. The attention to detail and creative garnishments are one of the many reasons sushi restaurants are one of our favorites to visit as a family. Oceano definitely understands that you eat with your eyes first. The Tokyo roll and Johnny roll were absolutely delicious and I would definitely order again. Unfortunately this restaurant does not use chunk tuna so I found the texture of the spicy tuna roll unappealing. We appreciated the smaller size of the spider roll as it was easier to eat. Often times at other restaurants, any roll with soft shell crab will not be manageable in one bite and end up being very difficult to eat. Oceano negates this by wrapping them smaller. Yay! All things considered, we will definitely come back and enjoy more fancifully presented sushi and delicious miso soup. read more

This place is OK but not great. We started off with hamachi kama which is deep fried instead of broiled. It was pretty good although a tad light on the meat. Then we ordered a selection of different sushi rolls including one of their deluxe rolls call Ixtapa that had cilantro and red snapper. I had never had cilantro in a roll before and it was a good flavor combination. However, the other rolls were rather bland and about what you can get at QFC's sushi bar. They put way too much rice, and the rice was cold, semi-dry (I call it bb-shot), and barely flavored. The service was friendly but the food took forever, and they gave us the bill before the dessert came to our table which is a major no-no to me. Maybe I'll go back to try more of the hot dishes since this is supposed to be an Asian-fusion restaurant, but I can't recommend the sushi. read more

This is by far the best sushi restaurant I've eaten at. I actually can't eat sushi anywhere else. The menu is creative and delightful. The owner really cares about his customers experience. I will say it can get very busy and the wait can be very long because it's so good! Food can take a while to come out if your seated during rush hour. The price of the food is pricey which is the only reason i'd give it four stars. If it was just a little more affordable, i'd eat there a lot more. The price comes from the presentation. The environment of the restaurant is very calming. Also all sushi is served on a sushi boat which is the biggest surprise. Also I know they also have a secret menu! New Go to sushi spot for our friends who live in Bothell. This place really is fresh and delicious. Enjoyed the lava roll, pink lady roll, hamachi, and much more! Highly recommend the lava roll as it was my favorite. Ordered sashimi and that was also very fresh. Ordered nigiri and those were very thickly sliced and very well portioned. The ambiance is a little dark. But nothing is taken away from the food and flavors. Rating this a 4 star location because my water glass went empty twice and I had to wave down the waitress after waiting for her to come by. The table had no soy sauce. The restaurant has no kimchee sauce. No full bar. Miso soup is on the saltier side for my liking. Presentation was exceptional. We will be going back if we visit the area again. read more

I ordered takeout: spicy California, the pink lady and the macho macho with crunchy flakes. The macho macho was pretty good! My only issue has to do with pricing. I didn't get my total when I called in the order but when I checked my receipt in the bag, the total (unitemized) was much higher than I expected. I called them to compare the prices on the menu shared on Yelp - all of the prices listed on the menu are outdated, so if you rely on the menu pictured be ready for a sticker shock. Also their website doesn't work so you are out of luck trying that route. They were already aware of the issue and dismissive of it which was disappointing. read more

Very nice quaint place. Cozy and friendly environment. The Sushi is very good. They have all you can eat on Tues and Weds. It is 29.95 PER PERSON, just an FYI. My sister and I thought it was a fair share, one price, anyone can join an eat but nope the bill surprised us. Not going to make that mistake again. My wife and I found this little gem on a whim. Wow, it is delicious!! It's Sushi/Japanese fusion. We always try something new along with our favorites and nothing has disappointed. What stands out about Oceano is the customer service. Yesterday I placed an order to go, and one of the items were sold out. Even thou he was swamped with orders the owner and chef offered to make them from scratch if I didn't mind waiting an extra 20 min and of course they were tasty. His wife is one of the servers there and she is equally nice. My wife loves their flower tea and wanted to take the rest home on our first visit. I'm struggling with this review because I don't like to bring negativity to businesses - Their service is great and the atmosphere is nice, but that's pretty much where the good notes end. The food while we did not expect it to be authentic, was subpar and grossly overpriced. We're talking $14 for an 8-piece negihama (yellowtail and green onion) roll. While a deep fried roll cooks the fish inside, it really shouldn't taste like tuna from a can. Amazing food, awesome service. And SOOOO clean! We couldn't have been happier with our experience at Oceano. We are from out of town & asked a local for a sushi suggestion. She didn't even hesitate before she recommended Oceano & now we know why! The edamame was done perfectly, the cucumber salad (can't remember the actual name of it) was divine. The rolls we got were just perfect, and they even threw in a freebie! All this and the man who took our order was genuinely kind & friendly & the place was so clean you could have eaten off the floor. Not only is all of their sushi AMAZING, but the service is really outstanding as well. We came here on a double date with some friends and had some of the best sushi we've ever had. I had the flowering tea which was beautiful to watch and delicious to drink! The dragon ball appetizer was really spicy and delicious. I chose this spot because the reviews looked decent and it was closer than the drive into Seattle. Located in Bothell, tucked away on a strip mall.. looks seemingly plain on the outside, though the interior was surprisingly thoughtful. Some spots were worn out from wear but not too badly. I'm about to call them out on some embarrassing facts so here goes... the edamame was literally the pre made microwave packs you can buy at Costco. I know this because I have some at home. Awkward... they microwaved it too long. Had to send it back.... Not only is the edamame from Costco, the "garden salad" is as well. A ready made pack you can buy at your local Costco and serve with mooshy tomatoe if you'd like the same meal at home. Sometimes it's nice to have convenience, I get it, but if your business is to make food for others, there's no excuse for microwave ready. Try a new business. It's embarrassing for the business and the people inside. Please spare me from going into detail about the Luke warm nigiri. Ouch. Pretty sure they microwaved the hot sake too. I swear some of these places really believe that they can serve anything on a plate and it's okay. As far as atmosphere, we were the only ones there in the end and the restaurant had Spanish guitar competing with the kitchens rap. Would have rather just had the rap on at that point rather then listened to two genres. They started closing down shop around 8:25 while we were eating which make things kind of rushed. Came on a Friday night, wasn't too busy. Hostess told us the wait will be 5-10 mins. We walked in and half the restaurant was empty a little after 6pm, maybe they needed that time to set up our table. Our server greeted us right away, got our drink orders. The presentation of the food was nicely done, we tried the calamari, which was crispy and the sauce wasn't too spicy, just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The double rainbow roll is similar to regular rainbow other than having more fish within the sushi, blossom roll was a little disappointing for us, we didnt like the taste of the sauce. We had a few nigiri pieces and ordered some sashimi pieces, all which was quite fresh. We got one kids meal chicken noodles for my son, wasnt the best but wasnt bad, the sauce on the noodles was a little salty and we ask for less sauce already. Overall the meal was quite good and service was wonderful. For our family of 4, it would be around $100. read more

Who thought a strip mall restaurant would be that nice. The food was fresh and the art work of the sushi was appealing. They served all the rolls on a wooden boat. They dessert roll was delicious too. The service was good, everyone was happy and had plenty to take home. I went back there yesterday, only three of us this time. I appreciated the opportunity to order a short roll, only 5 pieces, and a side of gyozas to share but I think it would be a good idea to have a combo style lunch do you can have a variety of food and not just sushi rolls. Immediately upon entering I could tell why this place was so highly rated. The place was super clean even on a Friday night and the presentation of the whole place was well done. We ordered 3 rolls and a noodle dish for my daughter. One California Roll, a Seared Salmon roll that was a special order (using the Spider Roll as a base), and a Blossom Roll. Each were delicious and quite filling. The presentation blew me away. They came out on this boat platter that was so cool. The ginger and wasabi were in cucumber cups. It was a nice piece of art. I had never had such a presentation. The noodle dish was good as well but a tad too salty. My daughter loved it! And that's all that matters. They bring you out this really cool orange platter for desert that is shaped into a bear on the beach. They really played up the beach/ocean theme really well. I have a very close friend who only eats fish... So needless to say we have been to most of the sushi restaurants around Seattle and the east side.... When this place opened... I was initially skeptical, as it is located right next to a rather sketchy casino... And it is so ridiculously close to my house (like 2 miles), how could I be so lucky?!? In MILL CREEK of all places?!? Let me tell you, I've pretty much won the lottery with this place... Best sushi, beautiful presentation, service is fantastic (they are still new so when it's busy I give them some slack if it is a bit slow...) the price for the quality and presentation is almost a steal compared to Seattle sushi joints... A I've been here at least 9 times, in the last 3 weeks... Sometimes two days in a row... (And it's always the same 3 sushi gurus btw...) My faves: green monster, tiger, and mt rainier rolls, and the poke tuna salad... If you order enough... It comes in a BOAT! I love my boatloads of sushi! Oceano far exceeded my expectations. I mean this restaurant is located right in a strip mall of cheap restaurants next to a casino, so my expectations weren't very high. Mind blown. The sushi rolls and sashimi are extremely fresh and full of flavor. Not only that but everything was presented like artwork. Everything was absolutely beautiful. The ambiance and service was nice too. We ordered the Japanese Egg Rolls for our appetizer and the Mt Rainer, Happy and Ceviche Rolls for our entrees. As well as a 9 piece sashimi set. The Egg Rolls were delicious! Nice and crispy and full of shrimp and crab. All the rolls were amazing! Each one had its own unique flavors and textures. What sets these rolls apart from other rolls I've had is you can taste every single component in each roll. The flavor combinations were out of this world. My favorite one was the Mt Rainer Roll, the crunchy shrimp in contrast to the soft rice and crab salad amazing. You can actually customize your sashimi set here! Which is freaking awesome. You can pick and chose what you want from their fresh sashimi list. They don't have the biggest list in the world but what they do have is fresh and delicious. The sashimi pieces were supple and thick. The salmon was like butter! I am so happy more and more wonderful sushi places keep popping up in the north end. Oceano will definitely be part of my sushi rotation. I can't wait to go back and try other things!!! read more

The Salmon Sashimi was great and the the Tiger Role delicious. Presentation of food was outstanding. Of course I had warm Sake and green tea with my meal...both of it was good as well. The only thing what can be improved is the interior and not sure why such a good place is at such a location. Waitress was also very nice. All in all I would say this is one of my Top 10 Sushi restaurants I ever was and I visited more than 100. read more
