Dig the chilled sake presentation here
    Tom B.

In short Gorgeous inside, service is very charming and attentive, and they make the most of every detail with the food. In long Deceptively bland location just north of Thrasher's Corner. Kind of a heap of strip malls for a couple blocks in every direction (and the same thing happens again a mile north, with even more shopping). Inside, though, you settle into a quiet, welcoming, immaculate setting. The hostess today was wonderfully friendly and focused; she was pulling double duty as a busser and server between lunch and dinner rushes. She sat me right away. The floors are polished concrete, which can be a bit slick with wet shoes, but looks nice and is perfectly clean. Nice dark wood walls and furniture, with black curtains hanging here and there to separate spaces, absorb noise, and settle the vibe. There are a few cooked options, including teriyaki and roasted/grilled finfish. Lots of nice options for the kids. The drinks list spends more time on beer and wine than it does on sake, but the sake I got was lovely. They put in a small decanter with room for ice cubes, nicely separated from the sake so it gets cold without getting watered down. Dig it! It's like a tiny bong your grandma would have thought was pretty. Seaweed salad Gorgeous presentation with extra lettuce building up the plate so it's ready for prime time. Cheap and easy way to make a very-common appetizer seem like it has some panache to it. Miso soup A bit more tart than I'm used to, possibly from the wide-leaf seaweed they added. I gobbled up every drop for sure. Sashimi I got the 12-piece and they really timed it to when I was done with soup and salad. Beautifully presented with cukes, shredded daikon, little cucumber cups for ginger and wasabi, and other vegetable flourishes around the plate. Just spectacular visually. The fish itself was wonderfully soft and buttery. Next time I think I'll say no superwhite; that's one of the very few things I avoid at sushi places, but it was tasty this one time and it's certainly something lots of people love, so it makes sense to include it if you don't say anything. Overall there's not a single other thing I'd change about this place, except maybe to move it closer to my house.

Sushi boat - pure heaven! This is the Queen Anne roll, Dragon roll and Vela... (spell?!) roll

From start to finish this sushi restaurant is AMAZING! The atmosphere is romantic, fun, beautiful and the music is perfect! The service was top notch! Staff was kind, friendly, engaging, and checking on us just the right amount. The sushi was absolutely mouth watering delicious! I absolutely reccomend this wonderful place!

Fun presentation! Yummy sushi but rolls did not stand out. Calamari was also just okay. Friendly service. Large restaurant with decent amount of seating. Casual/ dim ambiance :)

I would probably not come back. The service was great but sushi was just ok/ not super fresh (they do have great presentation though) and the shrimp tempura udon was too salty and 'gingery' (too much ginger) :(

Lava roll. 1/5 spice level. So delicious

What a gem! Stopped by for a quick bite after a long day and was pleasantly greeted with friendly servers, a comfortable atmosphere and delicious food. The chicken udon soup was so full of veggies and the broth was delicious. Next time I'll omit the udon noodles and enjoy a chicken veggie soup

I can't see the menu is there a sushi buffet or AYCE?

Do you offer dine-in at the moment for 6 people party?

Yes. They have dine-in, but cannot eat at sushi bar.

    Do they serve liquor?

    Yes

    Is there AYCE here?

No one should eat AYCE "all you can eat", but if you do, this is not the place to go as they do not.

The cuisine has excellent seasoning. I chose two appetizers, Takoyaki and Hamachi Karma, and found both to be delicious. The Takoyaki had a well-balanced flavor. Yummy. The Hamachi Karma displayed both the fish and dipping sauce with wonderful flavors. The drizzle sauce and spinach on the plate seem to be intentionally included. They complement the dish altogether. I think both the recipe maker and the chef demonstrated great skill in their execution. I should experience different dishes next time. The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff were friendly, polite, and attentive to their customers. My green tea never ran out. I rarely ate at a restaurant without asking for more water or tea. It may seem like a little thing, but I valued their attention. This restaurant may become one of my go-to places to eat.

Both nights, I enjoyed great food and excellent service. The first night, I thoroughly enjoyed ikura (salmon roe) with quail egg, ami ebi (sweet shrimp) -- love me fried shrimp heads, and a specialty roll -- black lava spider roll. The second night I ordered miso soup, yellowtail scallion roll, saba (mackere) nigiri, eel avocado roll and tobiko nigiri. On both evenings, I opted for green tea instead of an alcohol alcoholic beverage. Another reviewer commented that there is a brisk takeout app service, which was noticeable both nights I was there. I am talking these experiences up as a win. I will be back in the area, and it is nice to know there is a restaurant I can count on for great food and service.

Yet, it's disappointing to say that we've been sourly disappointed the last 2-3 times we came here. Not sure if it's management change or something happened, but Nakagawa lost its magic with us. 1. The service has been terribly slow and just not inviting anymore. After ordering, we waited easily 35-40 min for the food. I know it takes time to meticulously prep rolls, but after 30 min of just sitting and waiting, you can't help but start feeling hangry. And this isn't just a one-time occurrence - this happened multiple times for us. 2. The bento box quality. I LOVE bento boxes - it was such a treat to dine on so many different Japanese options, like a sampler box of goodness. Ranging from nigiri to sushi, from tempura to the soup, bento boxes have a special place in my heart. Yet, I feel like Nakagawa's bento boxes have sadly missed that mark. The protein (chicken teriyaki/katsu) tastes old and oddly mushy, and the portions are quite small, just leaving me wanting more. Don't get me wrong - the fish is still good. Solid place for seafood, paired with a lengthy wait. But Nakagawa just lost its touch with us, and driving that 30-35 min trek is not worth it for us anymore.

We split an udon dish ($12.95), ordered 5 sushi plates + 1 order of crab rangoon but the portions felt quite small for the price. The fish did not taste as fresh or high quality as I was hoping, and the overall meal was underwhelming. Service was also inconsistent during our visit. We waited about 25 minutes before anyone noticed our water glasses were empty. At one point, I tried to get a staff member's attention for a refill, and they told me to hold on while they grabbed a white to go bag for another table in front of us. Unfortunately, they never came back, and we ended up waiting even longer. My friend and I's total came to about $41 per person after tip, and I left feeling disappointed with the value for what I received. For a similar price point, I personally prefer BittyFish in Lynnwood, where I have found the portions, quality, and overall experience to be better. Sushi Zone was not terrible, but it was not memorable enough for me to return. The flavor was good, the place is pretty clean and stocked though for options. Just wish the prices were better priced for the portion or the portions were bigger to match the price. Felt a little scammed.

The restaurant's ambiance is such that it feels like you are dining alone, as the high-backed seating prevents visibility of other patrons, except for those seated next to you. Consequently, it is also impossible to see the staff. The restaurant utilizes technology to facilitate ordering and serving. Robot servers and automatic belt conveyers deliver orders to the table. Regrettably, it is challenging to request assistance from human servers. I dropped my napkin on the floor, and I was unable to request a replacement due to the absence of a call button, no option to order napkins on the tablet, and the invisibility of servers. This situation is unpleasant, particularly with soy sauce spilled on the table. I was quite frustrated. The constant overlap of loud radio music and zen music from the robot is not ideal. I would prefer it if the Japanese "Zen" music from the robot was played all the time, while the background radio station was turned off. The radio's energetic vibe does not fit with the restaurant's layout and atmosphere. Alternatively, using Zen music as background music and turning off the robot's music would be a better option. This is my opinion. I have mix uneasy feeling to dine here. I believe technology is most effective in a busy restaurant with adequate staff. The atmosphere, layout, music, staff, and food quality do not cohesively come together.

In long We've been meaning to try it forever and finally dragged our carcasses in here when we were coming back from an afternoon up north. Quiet Sunday night on Thanksgiving weekend, and we scored perfect parking and got a table instantly. So we're already in a great mood, right? It's a shoebox-shaped room with a few extra tables in one corner. Newish strip mall construction. You can come in from either end, which I would not have guessed. It's sparkling clean and well lit with some nice warmth to the lighting. Big flatscreens behind the sushi bar, probably tuned to the ballgame or the news or something. The menu feels comfortingly familiar. The usual apps, solid list of sashimi, lots of classic rolls and then a couple full pages of specialty rolls. Matcha for later. So far you don't feel like you're in crazy territory, though they do list hamachi collar as an all-the-time hot dish, which is cool. So many places run out of it right away and list it only as a special, but not here. The sake list is just enough--a couple of each type, some solid and reasonably-priced house options, a couple really nice picks. You get your sake right away and the miso doesn't take much longer. The takoyaki was delicious and beautiful. Lots of garnish, boiling hot, great flavor. Nice tako bits in there, lots of creamy filling. They garnish the seaweed salad with daikon and load it with cucumber. More places should do both of these things. The cucumber in particular enhanced the flavor a ton. Once the rolls showed up, things got better and better. The Love Hunter and the Amazing were both fantastic. Great combinations of flavors and textures, generously portioned and topped. We got some classic taki too, and that was a great contrast. I love it so much when places nail the classics and the modern. I got the deluxe sashimi dinner. For $36 this is such a value. The hamachi and the other tuna were both super buttery, the salmon had tons of flavor, and there were a couple other nice fish on the plate as well. It's great when you find a place you're super happy you tried, but this immediately goes into the rotation as an any-night sushi spot. Affordable enough you don't have to wait for a special occasion!
