Just spent $70 on 3 of the most bland rolls I have ever eaten. The restaurant is clean and nice looking. Service was not the best, seen at the beginning and end but never during. Our waters were never refilled and we had to flag a different server down at the end to pay. Now the reason I am 1-starring this place is mostly the food. For $70 you should get pretty darn good sushi, but not here. The wasabi seemed like it was weeks old (discolored and hard) and the sushi was soooo bland. One roll seemed just off, not sure if it was bad fish or not but didn't taste fresh at all. The second roll was a fried roll that tastes like stale cereal. And this was not because the place was full but because there was just no server around in the dining area or at the counter. Then after getting the table we waited another 15 mins before someone came to ask whether we would like water! And then another 10 mins later there was no water or no server. It was alright. I'm not blown away by the food. The atmosphere and the presentation were amazing but the food fell short. We ordered the Noah's ark of sashimi and roll and they didn't give much of a variety when it came to the sashimi. Instead of 2 pieces of six different items we got 3 pieces of four different items and we were a party of two.... I mean cmawn bro the chef could clearly see us? I made reservations for dinner here based on a friend's recommendation. They have ample parking, clean interior, cute decor and good ambiance. The hostess and wait staff were also very friendly. We had 5:30p reservations on Saturday night. I thought the place would be jammed but they were only three other tables occupied. We browsed through the menu and we were disappointed. It seemed the vast majority of their rolls had tuna and salmon combined. Perhaps I am just picky but I wanted pure tuna rolls, not tuna and salmon. We also noticed all the "crab" rolls were krab. We assumed this meant imitation crab. We asked our server and she verified "We do not serve real crab here." Which then lead me to wonder if the salmon was farmed or wild. My assumption would be the salmon served is farmed salmon if the crab is imitation. We finished our sake, paid our tab and left. We did not eat here. I will say - they do have delicious house sake and a pineapple sake. While we did not eat here, I am giving Oceano 2 stars for: parking, decor, ambiance, friendliness of wait staff, and their sake. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Absolutely delightful menu, with enough choices for everyone! We ordered Dragon Balls(deep fried jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and krab, drizzled with sriracha and teriyaki sauce)for an appetizer, and we decided to order three more things because we had never been here: Seattle Roll(cream cheese, crystal shrimp, salmon, avocado, lemon slices, green onion, krab salad on top). This was our favorite of the two deluxe maki. So many flavors layered perfectly! We also ordered Blossom Roll(baked) which is cream cheese, tempura shrimp, and mayonnaise inside, salmon and avocado on top. The last thing we ordered was Paradise Coconut Shrimp which is prawns cooked to a light brown covered in a coconut sweet sauce with walnuts and honey and served with steamed rice. I've visited this sushi place few times, always liked the food and presentation, the only minor problem was I could never understand why they would tell people that the wait was 20 minutes when the restaurant was half empty; it happened more than once, and I've seen people walking out the door because they didn't want to wait that long in the small waiting area. Today was the first time I placed a to go order. I ordered by phone using their online menu, asked my son to pick up the order and was shocked when I saw how much they charged for the order. Went back online, double checked the prices and the numbers didn't add up (20% difference). The place looks very unassuming from the outside, but inside its got a really trendy, cool atmosphere that I like a lot. Despite being a sushi place, neither of us ordered sushi. I had the chicken udon and my wife had the grilled salmon. Not only was everything delicious, I've got to say that the way they plate and present their food it stop notch. I've never eat food so pretty. The service was good despite it being during the lunch rush and there only being on server on duty at the time. If you're looking for cool presentation and friendly staff, this place may be for you, but if you're really into sushi and know your stuff I would advise you to look elsewhere. Here's a summary: Service 4/5 Selection 3/5 Quality 2/5 Ambiance 1/5 Service: The staff was friendly and the service was prompt. Not much else to say. Selection: Decent selection of non-sushi items that may satisfy someone who wasn't interested in sushi. Nigiri selection was fairly small though; I've been to small izakayas and even teriyaki spots with better roll selections. Not a terrible but it wasn't impressive either. Quality: The deluxe roll we got (Pink Lady) was really, really bland. It sounded so much better on paper than it did actually eating it. We had a couple pieces and didn't touch it the rest of it. We also got nigiri of their tuna, scallop, snapper, and mackerel. Out of those the only one I would consider passable was the snapper and maybe the tuna. Snapper was decent, tuna was fairly bland, but the other two were definitely not good. While the scallop was a very generous portion it was DRENCHED in sauce as was the mackerel. Texture was good, but you almost couldn't even taste the fish - definitely not what someone who is ordering nigiri wants. The sunomono we got was probably the best thing, but that was only an appetizer. Ambiance: Seating was cool, but the first thing I noticed inside was how loud it was. I thought it was busy at first but it was barely a third full when we first got in there. A group seated a few tables away didn't seem like they were talking exceptionally loud, but they sounded like they were right next to us. This started becoming more and more apparent as it got busier. Maybe we got put in a poor spot, who knows? The lighting was also really dark in there to the point where it was almost difficult to read the menu. I'm all for "mood lighting" but when it makes it tough to read the menu, especially when I'm ordering raw fish, I'm a little put off. The boats that the sushi comes out on, while cool, made me feel more like they were compensating for quality with visuals. With most of the menu at a mid-price range and their upper tier items at the really inconsistent quality we experienced them at, I don't think I can recommend it. If you're conscious of your sushi quality I would give this a pass. read more

Amazing fresh sushi served up in a classy modern strip mall sushi restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly. The food is even better than it looks, which is amazing, as the food presentation here is on another level. It was like sushi art. The sushi melted in my mouth. I had the unagi and pink lady roll. The pink lady had a nice spicy kick to it. Following my meal I received a complimentary orange palate cleanser which was a lovely end to a yummy lunch.
