The Good: To start there is no business signage on the front or any type of indication that this is " Uncovered LA" literally just an all black storefront, with blacked out windows and a black iron gate door. Once you walk in though, it is very nice and looks neat and clean. Max who usually does my waxing, is pleasant. She does small talk to catch up and tries give breaks to relieve you through the waxing process which can be painful. The bad: she doesn't use any type of protective barriers on the waxing table which i find very unhygienic. I remember she stopped investing in the paper roll that you use to cover the table similar to what they use in a doctor's office before you sit on the examination table. She started reusing towels instead which i still think is pretty unsanitary. She also use reuses wash cloths to wipe your sensitive areas down and that just freaks me out every time. I've never had someone reuse wash cloths always a fresh warmed wipe. I even thought about bringing my own supplies like I do at the nails salon to not get a fungal infection, but I shouldn't have to do all that. The Ugly: my last visit I unfortunately received a bad bacterial infection after getting a wax from Max. I remember her looking for a towel to put down on the table and couldn't find one and i was in a super rush to catch a flight later that day so i just had her wipe down the black waxing table with a sanitizer wipe and i got it done. She used this same white wash cloths as per usual to wipe me down afterwards. Later that day I started to feel uncomfortable "down there" and had discharge that hasn't stoped since I go back from my trip. When I got checked, I was told it was a bacterial infection and I wont go into to much details, but I find myself having to wear a pantie liner EVERYDAY which is something I've NEVER had to worry about before. I waited a long time to post this review because I didn't want to negatively impact her business, but this experience has really changed my life and the money that I have to constantly spend on liners was definitely not worth a $60 Brazilian wax. Needless to say, I was naïve and really should have voice my concerns, but what an expensive lesson to lean. Ladies please take care of your health and always speak up if something doesn't feel right to you especially when paying for a service.

The lady who did my eyebrows did an excellent job cleaning up my eyebrows and not making them too thin because i like the shape i have already. Unfortunately, she was extremely rough with threading my brows and i left the salon with the area around my eyebrows feeling numb. When i was taking off my makeup, it stung sooooo badly due to the open cuts between my eyes and eyebrows. Its been two days and the scabbing has gotten more prominent and hasnt improved in terms of the pain/stinging and i just dont understand why she had to use that much force. Ive never had an eyebrow threading experience where i felt like layers of skin were being ripped off and needed to lather my eyebrows with neosporin after. Needless to say i probably wont be back here, but two stars rather than one because of how she listened to my instructions on not changing my brow shape. read more

Typically I have no issue getting my legs waxed but today when it was my turn lady a who did my legs the first time I got them done said another lady (lady c) would be coming at 10am and she could do them so I waited. Lady C came but she did eyebrows and a lady that was already there (lady b) would do my legs. Lady B instead took an additional client and said she would help me after (even though the lady c haven't even gotten a client yet and could have taken that over that specific client). After lady b was done with her eyebrow client she told me she was going to get the room ready. She then went to her car while on the phone then went onto the employee room and closed the door by this time I had been waiting thirty minutes and got passed over twice so I just cut my losses and left. I love this place! I've never been more relaxed when getting my eyebrows done. The atmosphere is so relaxing and they are so gentle yet through. I literally almost fell asleep while getting my eyebrows done..that's never happened before because I'm usually In pain. However the way they do it here I swear you don't even feel it.
