It's been awhile since I've had my eyebrows threaded. Many years ago, I had a horrible experience with a well known business and went back to waxing. Today I was in desperate need of cleaning up my brows and figured I'd give this place a shot since it's near my fav Jamaican food restaurant. I gotta say I have fallen in love with this place! Angela greeted me and had me seated within 5 minutes of arrival. I was impressed with their cleanliness and brow work! I can really tell that Angela takes great pride in her work. She worked her magic on my eyebrows. I was very appreciative of her showing me how 1 eyebrow looked before moving on to the next. She knew I was a new customer and wanted me to see she knows what she's doing to make me feel more at ease. I'm so happy I found this place! Peace out wax! Well...I was there yesterday with my mom for the first time...I was looking for a place to get my eyebrows done and I found this location on yelp which I decided to go because of the ratings and how nice and clean it looked...but damn what a bad experience the both ladies didn't do their job right never go again my eyebrows and my moms were very uneven...Usually I have my own location where I go and I've been going to the same place for years but because of the virus they were closed so that's why I decided to go to this place...so ladies be careful I decided to do the review because I was very upset about it and I wouldn't want someone else going through the same thing. It was my first time at ocean eyebrow threading and my second time getting threading done as I've decided to switch from waxing to threading. I was very apprehensive of trying a new spot because as we all know some brow technicians can be hit or miss. Luckily I found ocean eyebrow and it was a huge hit! The place is spacious and clean. I came in on a Monday around 3pm and didn't have to wait at all. I got paired up with Laxmi and she was excellent. I showed her a photo of what I wanted and my brows came out flawless. She works quick and SUPER GENTLE. Painless threading for brows however my upper lip was more sensitive and I had to breathe through that but over all GREAT experience & very affordable service. Now that I've been coming here for over a year and had my eyebrows done by almost everyone that works there let me give an updated review. I don't want to misspell anyone's names so I will go ahead and just tell you the chair numbers starting with chair one closest to the door. She is my go to eyebrow lady. She's very patient. Super nice. Attentive, listens to what you want and does it. Chair 2 is also great. If my go to is not available or if it's packed I will sit in either of their chairs. Second to last chair is someone I will never go to again. The last time I was there I was in a hurry so I did not write a preference next to my name and she attended me. Well, she ripped out a chunk of my eyebrow and didn't even bother to tell me. I wear brow make up and she brushed my hairs to the side so I didn't even notice until the next day. I was pretty peeved off. It's been almost two months and that chunk of hair STILL has not grown in. The white lady with the colored eyes used to be super rough. She would always leave scabs around my eyebrows because of how bad she would burn my skin when threading. I tried her out again recently and she actually did a decent job, with no scabs showing up the next day. All in all, it's a decent place to go to and I will stick to the first two chairs. read more

Went to go get my eyebrows here and the lady doing my eyebrows was very aggressive and rushed. When she was finished with my eyebrows i noticed they hadn't even looked like I got them done so I asked her to fix it. Even after she fixed it she left plenty of noticeable hairs and they still looked un done and un even, I had to visit another eyebrow threading place after to fix my eyebrows since they were very poorly done. read more

I used to love this shop, but after today I will never return!! Any time before which ever lady did my eyebrows I would get asked what I wanted & they would just clean my eyebrows up. Not today! Today this lady was also on the phone so I didn't want to be rude, but now I'm realizing I should have just interrupted since she didn't even greet me. I went in with full thick eyebrows and came out with this, and before I could even mention anything the lady was already taking the mirror out of my hands. Also since I went so early it was only one lady in 09/15 so I wasn't able to pick who I wanted to go. My eyebrows don't look the same AT ALL!! And it's honestly devastating after not having them done in so long!!! To get in the car & see this made me not even want to go back in to ask for them to be fixed out of fear that she would just mess them up more!!! I've been going to Shapes Brow bar in the Fox Hills Mall since like the beginning of time lol 8+ years, once a month and not only can none of the members recognize me by name all I've seen is an increase in price, unprofessional customer service, and mediocre eyebrow threading. I always went out of convenience, close to my home, work etc. a lot of business weren't into the thread trend yet but still just using wax, this was something that was effective for me and I didn't have breakouts afterward since my skin was so sensitive. Enough is enough but it's time I moved on to bigger and better things, I logged on yelp and right at the bottom it had a picture that said eyebrow threading, it read my mind, I clicked on it and this place popped up, good ratings/reviews and verified! That's not something you see often, I send a message to schedule an appointment they let me know right away it slow, walk ins are available. I drove over and the parking lot is big but everyone is holiday shopping so finding one took awhile, I get inside there were a few ladies waiting so I write my name down and wait, people were going in and out they all seemed pleased even some had their regulars or were waiting on someone specific. Now the waiting list is a hassle they kept calling the same names or didn't know who was in order and then some people were being served before others leaving the area tense, they finally got it back in order and I was up next. I showed her 3 pictures of how I typically like my brows because I can't afford any mistakes, they are naturally thick and I liked them slightly arched and medium not thin. I asked for my forehead to be threaded as well which is an extra $5. She states how my brows aren't even or something other and I just let her know I've been letting them grow out for weeks so it is what it is, you just don't mess them up. She started on my right and then showed me, I liked it so she started on the left and my forehead, the pain was usual not unbearable, the only thing was she kept threading my edges along with my forehead and I don't need bald spots near my temples. Monday's and Tuesday's they have a $5 special for your brow service so all together it was $10 plus tip $12. She was quick and efficient, I left pleased and refreshed she offered lotion but I'm hesitant to Public use of certain things, so I declined. It's the following day my skin is soft, smooth, the hair hasn't came back in yet, no breakouts or scars, I will return and hopefully this can be my new brow home. read more

Overall she spent about 3 minutes doing my brows and didn't do them properly, obviously. She rushed the entire thing and was too rough, leaving little knicks from the thread all along both of my brows. This should be a given but threading eyebrows should not take only 3 minutes. The appeal to this place is its cheap but shitty service wasn't even worth the $8 They did not clean/sanitize the station after the person before me. read more

I get my brows threaded by Pretty. She does not make my brows to thin. Just shaped really good. Only thing I do not like is having to hold my eyelid. I've never had to do that before and I really hate it ! It's good price and ample parking. read more

The lady who did my eyebrows was older with her hair tied in a bun. She was gentle and was meticulous when it came to shaping my eyebrows. Was a tiny bit bummed that their service here is a $1 more than my usual $5.99 but for the proximity to my office, I don't mind at all. I came in and ask the lady that was doing my eyebrows to please try to bring the arch down. She didn't listen and proceeded to do them as she pleased. It's not what I asked for and she even arch them more. It's extremely upsetting she didn't listen at all to what I asked. Won't be coming back I'll have to find a new place. My brows were medium thickness...i came in to get cleaned up but instead the lady threaded away my eyebrows. My eyebrows are soo thin. I went here one day to go and get my eyebrows done and also I saw the price for the eyelash extensions. I figured why not since I was in the area. I go to another lady for my eyelashes and its someone in Whittier. I decided to try this place out. Eyebrows, I'm telling you are BOMB. Ronny did them for me. She did thread a little more than what I had expected she'd do, but it's my fault for not telling her what I wanted. I just said eyebrow threading. She also did my eyelash extensions and I got them done on Friday, August 30th. It is currently 10:55pm on September 3rd, the first Tuesday of this month and it hasn't even been 4 days and the inner corner lash fell off. My eyes did water and she said I was sensitive to the lash extensions so that may be another reason why. She also gave me medium full due to the size of my Asian lids. I'm giving it a 3 star because I feel eh about it. Ronny was really friendly, patient, and really informative. For the price I paid, I shouldn't have had such high expectations. I just wished they lasted maybe a whole week or 2. I probably won't be driving all the way over there again because it is pretty far from where I live, but this place is definitely a recommend if it's your first time. read more

I was looking for a close location to get my eyebrows threaded and I noticed that this location only cost $7 to do so. What a steal! I wish places were this cheap in the Bay Area or in San Diego. When I entered the store I noticed that it was super spacious and clean. I signed in at the front clipboard with my name and the service requested. There were able three-four ladies working at the time. The lady who did my eyebrows make then super clean in a quick amount of time! For the price it was amazing! Went here for the first time and loved the results! The service is quick and I was seen in about 5 minutes of waiting. The technician was professional and the station was sanitized before use. I felt like the salon was cleaned and covid protocol is definitely in place. For an eye brow thread and lip it only came out to $13! The whole service took about 10 minutes and they even put aloe on your eye brow when done! I would definitely recommend checking out this place!! read more

My new go-to for eyebrows!!!! I came on a Wednesday morning (right at 10AM when they open) for their wednesday special on eyebrow threading $4.99 I was a little hesitant because at another location (will remain unamed) that offered a cheap eyebrow threading special didn't do to great of a job...NOT the case at Ocean!!!! Gita (sp?) was phenomenal!!! She was extremely meticulous and took her time to get my eyebrows cleaned up and even fixed the shaping of my left eyebrow (which has always been slightly different than my right...something a lot of us girls are familiar with...not having both eyebrows match perfectly). I can honestly say after my session with her...both eyebrows look pretty damn identical! Will definitely come back and recommend all my friends here. read more

This my second time going to Ocean Eyebrow and I love it! Each time I have gone to Tanha, she is amazing. She listens to my concerns as this was my first time getting my sideburns and lower part of my face threaded. She stopped where I asked her to stop and she made sure that everything looked even and natural. She always gives me tips and directions for after care. She is very nice and friendly. The prices are affordable and result of threading last way longer than waxing in my opinion. I will continue to go to Tanha!
