    Crème brûlée
    Clèm B.

Nice and authentic French restaurant. It was so nice to find a place which could offer home cooking and comfy food. As a starter, we shared a " pate de campagne " it was good and well paired with baguette I had the "poulet façon Georges" and it was amazing : creamy mushroom sauce, green beans, carrots and potatoes, it was amazing ! I really felt home. Last but not least : the crème brûlée ! Perfect The service was good, a bit long but we did not mind to take time to enjoy our bottle of wine. I recommend this place if you're looking for a real French experience

Gorgeous minimalistic restaurant but with a cozy feel. Typical french food - french onion soup, escargot, meats and cheeses- kind of pricey but definitely good quality. French onion soup was just ok, not mind blowing, I ordered a side salad which was actually delicious and generous portion - I scarfed it down. My first time having escargot, the sauce was excellent! Our waiter was nice, helpful and a little flirty and forward with one of my friends at the end of the meal.

Our holiday party was catered by Ocabanon! They were delightful to work with and so responsive. They helped me develop the menu for a Parisian Gala theme. Staff said it was the best food we have ever had at one of our parties. Ooo la la--especially the mushroom chicken and mashed potatoes! They also delivered on time which was huge. Highly recommend them!

Lunch at OCabonon was one of my birthday restaurant outings. Laura & I had a grand time eating excellent French cuisine. The menu is quite limited in their offerings. We both had escargots sopping up the juices with pieces of bread. Laura chose the wild boar daube with mashed potatoes. I had the skate served also with mashed potatoes and sautéed multicolored. beans. We drank glasses of rose champagne. Crème brûlée was a dessert that we shared. Service here was pleasant. This restaurant means a shed in French and it looked liked one. On one side is also a boutique with everything from books, table linen, yogurts and tins of chocolate all from France. On the other side is a large room with rows of assorted wines. The unisex restroom has an old fashioned weighing machine more for decoration.

The vibe is definitely different than I expected. It has more of a modern vibe, with high metal tables, instead of a more homey-French look. It was pretty empty on a Saturday night, so I wouldn't worry about having a reservation. Staff are very attentive. Escargot ($17) - probably about 6 pieces, already de-shelled. Tasted fantastic and a lot of butter. They gave us two baskets of fresh bread, still piping hot, which was a nice touch. Foie Gras ($25) - tasted good, with a decent amount of foie gras. Served with a small salad. Risotto ($28) - mushroom risotto with truffle oil, carrots, leeks, and Parmesan. This was overall pretty disappointing given the price point. Didn't taste much truffle and the leeks were a tad hard to chew. They were quite overwhelming. The huge chips of Parmesan on top were great though. Definitely on the pricier side, but the food tasted authentic. The menu is pretty small, so definitely make sure you know what you're going to get. Seems like they have daily specials that aren't on the menu as well.

4.75 stars for great food but only a few shortcomings; will round up either way. Came on a weeknight without much expectations. There was plenty of seating but the restaurant did fill up. The service was a bit on the slower side but very friendly. We did not have a late reservation but they did run out of one of the night specials - Chilean Sea Bass. Only one of us at the table could order it. 1. Escargot - Delicious buttery pesto sauce. The escargot came out smoking hot just as it should. The bread at this restaurant is 5 stars! 2. French onion soup - Average. I'd rate 3.75/5. Nothing too special here. 3. Chilean sea bass - Tender, juicy, flavorful! Not overly fishy or salty at all. Came on a mushroom risotto which was cheesy just the way I like it. 4. Complimentary macarons - Blueberry. Not too sweet. Perfect crunch and texture! Overall, a pricy but enjoyable night with slow steady service. We were happy we were not rushed out! They do run out of food items so come early. I would come here again.

    Great French products next door.

Tres French and tres magnifique. Chelsea is blessed with an authentic French wine bar l/ restaurant and shop. It's been rough without tourist traffic, but this place ensures and offers an experience that feels authenticity French. We went Friday and ordered: Fab Franc Mendoc/ Bordeaux Cheese plate The wines were top notch and since I liked my friends wine so much, he bought me a bottle next door at the shop. The cheese plate was superb. There was one from Lyon and one from America that were exceptional paired with a warm baguette- French heaven in Chelsea.

Nothing but positive things to say about this place! The food was fantastic, fresh and hearty. Their onion soup was superb and as authentic as it gets. Their salad was also surprisingly filling, and I tasted a bit of their chicken with the mushroom sauce and thought it was phenomenal. Very pleasantly surprised with this place, and am eager to come back. Great wine selection and playlist/music, by the way!

I have never really been able to experience a lot of French food especially in New York but was excited to try out OCabanon when my friends suggested it. We arrived on a Sunday night around 7:30 or 8 PM. The restaurant wasn't too busy and we had a nice amount of space to ourselves as a group of six. We ordered at few appetizer platters to share and wow they were so impressive. Great flavor, choices and presentation. For dinner I ordered the risotto and the flavor was wonderfully nice, moist and creamy. It just got a bit too heavy for me towards the end of the meal. One of my friends got their roasted chicken and I believe that is definitely a must order item - lots of well seasoned and juicy chicken meat to chow down on. Since I checked in on yelp I was able to receive a cup of cappuccino and it was just a great way to end the meal. All in all, even though I don't have much experience with French restaurants I found it to be a wonderful dinning experience. My French friend who we went as well complimented the restaurant highly and stated how it just served delicious, non pretentious food.

Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. It's a small area with the tables pretty close together. We were given a table in the far corner, which was perfect for comfort and looking out at the restaurant. Two of us each ordered a glass of house wine, which were "ok." We opted for the Boqueria Experience, which is $65 per person and includes a variety of chef-selected tapas, a paella and an order of the restaurant's special JAMÓN IBÉRICO DE BELLOTA, which is described on the charcuterie menu as aged 48 months, with deep marbling, rich and nutty flavor. We enjoyed most of the tapas, including the potatoes, the beef/lamb balls, the salad and bruschetta. The croquettes were "ok" with the heavy aeoli masking some of the flavor. The seafood paella was good and was different from ones I've had in the past, with the caramelized layer on the bottom. Yum. Honestly, none of us was a big fan of the Jamon Iberico de Bellota. I'm sure it's special and luxurious, but we found it not to have much flavor. Frankly, it was a big disappointment for us. The service was beyond excellent. We were very pleased with the timing of the presentation of the meal, the superb water service and the general enthusiasm and pleasantness of the Staff. We will come back and try different items on the ala carte menu. I thought there would be more seafood and meat tapas offerings in the "Experience". Instead, it was a lot of cheese, vegetables, dates and bread. Although $65 per person likely was a good value for what we got, I think the tapas items were heavy on the lower cost tapas and that it wasn't a true top-of-the-line "Experience". A seafood dish or even a chicken dish (chicken wings) instead of one of the two croquette offerings would have helped.

The server was inattentive and took a while to take our orders. We had to ask her for water three times, searching for her across the room in an attempt to catch her attention. She was a bit absent during the two-ish hours we were there. On the bright side, the drinks were fairly good. I ordered this strawberry vodka cocktail topped with whole mint. I'm wary of vodka for its harsh, unpleasant taste, but I found this drink to actually be very pleasant, tasing like a fruit smoothie you'd get from a local juicer. There was also a burgundy drink served on a wine glass that tasted like the holidays. I liked that one quite a bit. Overall, Oscar Wilde was an okay experience.
