We called Tim late last week and he was gracious and accommodating on the phone. Set up the appointment for today (Sunday) and he gave us a window between 8-10am. Hector and Rich called us at 7:40am and said they were on their way. They got to the storage facility about 8:30am and the whole move was completed before 10am. Hector and Rich were very kind, courteous and extremely strong. We have a smaller sized fridge but one of them lifted it like it was made of air. Needed last minute movers, and they came through for me. Had several heavy (quality) furniture pieces needing moved. Hector and Bryan showed up on time and ready to work. They wrapped furniture to protect it and quickly started moving it to the truck. I found them to go out of their way to be overly efficient, while also being very careful to ensure nothing would be damaged. They were overly helpful, and made sure I was getting the service I wanted the entire time. This is the way to go, especially when your needs are less than 3 hours. Out of the 5 or so movers I called, only 2 were able to give me a quote, and out of those 2, only OC Mini Movers were able to give a realistic quote. The other guys kept forgetting that we were moving from a decent sized 3 bedroom and not a 2 bedroom that they wanted go cram into a pickup?!? For a 130 mile move? Just to avoid the weigh stations(s)? Tim of OC Mini Movers was able to give me a realistic quote over the phone by asking numerous questions about our stuff. I was a bit worried when he told me that they were bringing a 26' truck to pack our 2100 sq ft house?!? Then on the day of our move, I find out that only two guys were going to show up (the third guy was in a serious accident ). Well, I really had no reason to worry. Tim and Brad showed up on time and managed to efficiently load our stuff with room to spare and in 5 hours! Two guys did that! The next day they showed up on time with a third guy, Tyler. Our daughter was moving from Chapman University in Orange, to The NY Film Academy in Burbank. Our delightful son, who lives in Venice, CA, assured us he would make all the arrangements for her move through TaskRabbit( we live in Virginia!). Said moving day arrives and a guy with a small flatbed truck turns up to move a full bedroom set, complete with queen bed and box spring. Used them to move 2 refrigerators to 2 different locations this past Monday. I did a "request a quote" through Yelp 4 days before the move date. I got a response really quickly - about an hour after I submitted for a request. Thumbs up! I had to move a refrigerator from Fullerton to Orange. And then the 2nd refrigerator had to be moved from Orange (upstairs) to Norwalk. They charged by $95/hour, $75 for the 1st refrigerator and $25 for the 2nd. In the end, it took about 2 hours. Some other companies have a 3 hour minimum so I'm glad OC Mini Movers charges by the hour. The 1st refrigerator that needed to go into the Orange location was a bit too big to go through the front door. They had to take off the front door. Refrigerators were wrapped with plastic and blankets and everything went smoothly. The two guys that came (can't remember their names) were nice and polite. I hear horror stories of movers who are on their phones, track mud into the home, etc. These guys were pretty cool. Overall, my husband and I were happy with the service. read more

They kept me going and were lighthearted about all the work they had to do with me including helping me to corral my dogs back in the garage when they escaped Marcos isn't a big talker but he's a great help!! Last week I contacted OC Mini Movers to get a quote for an internal move - swapping a refrigerator out of my daughter's kitchen into her garage and moving a new refrigerator from the garage into her kitchen on shirt notice. I appreciated that he went out of his way to make things right and the moving he and Tyler did do was extremely helpful. Original post: I was so bummed that this service didn't work out. They had great reviews and we just needed some help to move a few huge pieces of furniture. Tim was very communicative when I was asking for a quote, he confirmed the date, and we even got a text message the day before. Tim said the timing would be between 1-5, most likely showing up by 2:30. On the day of, it was 4 and I hadn't heard anything so I texted the number. Didn't hear back so I called and all they said was they were sorry and the previous job took a lot longer than expected. Which would have been fine if they let me know instead of having us wait around. We ended up canceling the order since he couldn't give me any more info on whether they could still come or when they would be coming. It looks like their services are great but if you use them, I guess be sure to constantly check in with them since communication seems to be lacking. read more

I am an Interior Designer and I had a custom sleeper sofa and love seat that needed to be delivered from my office to the clients house. In the past I have done deliveries on my own, but this customer lives in a 3 story townhome and there is no way I could get it up the stairs. I called James in the morning and he was able to have 2 guys (Ryan and Mark) come out the same day to deliver it for me. I was so impressed with their service and STRENGTH! I had mini movers out today for what turned out to be much more than anticipated. I had a POD & 1/4 of a garage to load into a u-pack trailer. What was quoted as a 3 hour job turned into 7. I communicated clearly, but didnt realize our POD was filled with 500 little boxes. The job took so long not because the guys were slow or inefficient, but because they took the time to pack hight & tight (as requested). They had a great attitude about it & even seemed to be extra motivated by the challenge to save us space. Mike & James were personable & respectful. They seemed to really take pride in their work. I'm laughing now that I considered trying to do what they did myself. Hire them & treat them well (water, maybe some lunch, and a tip for a good days work)...you'll be glad you did! read more

I didn't end up using their moving services since the person who wanted the furniture changed their mind, but the owner, Tim, was extremely helpful and responsive. He put up with me changing the times and date, and was able to make time for me even though it was last minute (only a day before). Out of all the moving companies that I requested a quote from, he was the only one who responded with exactly what I needed to know (price, estimated time, no hidden fees) instead of just a cut and paste of their rates. Threatened to confiscate your furniture ! Worst Customer Service experience ever ! Don't get fooled by no minimums ! I hired OC mini movers to move from Craigslist our 1 bedroom apartment move in Irvine. My wife and I had standard furniture with some boxes, couch, dining table etc. We had completed all the packing before the movers arrived and had 5 of my close friends ready to take all the small boxes and help with the move. Here are some key characteristics 1. Slow & inefficient to make the most of their time 2. Extremely unprofessional (threatened to confiscate furniture) 3. Poor at wrapping furniture 4. Filthy ward robe boxes 5. Have lots of excuses 6. Damaged delicate furniture 7. Dumped everything in the truck 8. Poor Customer service One of the key differentiating factors of these guys were that they didn't have 3-4 hour minimums compared to other movers which was great. Soon, I realized the movers were extremely slow and inefficient taking their own sweet time to wrap furniture. We changed the location of the truck so it was less than a min walk from the elevator to speed up things. My friends were sincerely helping in moving boxes and other items but things didn't change. It got worse when we saw their ward robe boxes. They were filthy, old and not in any condition to be used. I've pictures of their condition. Absolutely disgusting ! They just dumped everything in the truck without strategically arranging things and did not do a good job with delicate items such as keyboard etc. We late found damages to our shelf & tv table. We had to move our clothes ourselves and re-arrange most of the stuff in truck to prevent damages. Their wrapping was also inconsistent where they focused for 15 mins to wrap a bar stool but didn't even wrap keyboard or a wall mirror at all. I was extremely disappointed as things were slow and would have taken more than 4 hours. Since, it was my money being burnt, my friends and I decided to save the day and moved 75% of the stuff. When I called the owner (Tim) he started arguing about our white furniture, distance from elevator, elevator being busy and number of unreasonable excuses etc. He was not even onsite and didn't have much of an idea but was blaming us for not knowing how movers work. Although, I never spoke about not paying, he threatened us to confiscate our furniture if we didn't pay which was very unprofessional. It doesn't end here, after the move was complete, they just dumped the stuff on the road and we had to take it inside. If we would have let them move in furniture it would have easily taken 5 hours. Leave assembling the bed, but they also took the nuts and bolts with them. At the beginning, they didn't even write down the start time and later spoke about starting 30 mins earlier. I had to prove their start time by tracing it back to their phone call 15 minutes before arrival. This was indeed the worst moving experience of my life ! I was really impressed by the 5 star yelp reviews at first, however, after this experience, I would definitely NOT recommend them to anyone. Stay away ! Had a great experience with Tom and Gary. They did a wonderful job of getting a +300 lb washer up the stairs because the people who brought the washer and dryer refused to move the washer up the stairs because they said it was too heavy. Greg and Tom got it done in less then 30 minutes and hooked it up. I couldn't be any happier that they were able to come out on such short notice and made it look so simple. Terrible moving experience!! Genuinely not happy. Took 3.5 hours to just move 1 couch, dining table, dismantling bed and moving precisely just 7 boxes. We assembled everything in our final home ourselves since they were extremely sluggish and inefficient. They also gave multiple excuses for being slow(elevator is slow, your furniture is white, we have to walk to elevator). Wardrobe boxes they got were really really dirty and also not sturdy. I couldn't keep anything in those. I also was devastated to see my piano and mattress being so roughly handled by them. They did not wrap it at all. Overall, the worst part of moving into our beautiful new construction home in Irvine, CA. This is my first experience of getting fooled by yelp reviews. I would avoid these movers at all costs. Two weeks before my move, I called to schedule a Saturday at 8am move. Two days before the move, I get a call asking if I can move it to Sunday. I say I cannot move it to Sunday but I can push it to noon on Saturday and I am told that that will work. On Saturday at 11:45 AM I called to confirm that they are still on their way and I'm told that they are but are running slightly behind. At 1 PM I get a call saying they are running a few hours behind and will be at my home by about 4 PM which does not work because I needed to be out of the home the next morning and still needed time to clean. I was left to scramble and find different movers at the last minute. I did not receive a call from the owner or any sort of apology and was simply told sorry we cannot be there before 4 PM. Update - the owner, person I made the reservation with and the mover all contacted me after posting the review. The mover contacted me to say they had finished the job earlier than expected and could head over to my place but I had already rented a truck and hired helpers and told them not to. The owner apologize and within half an hour was able to locate a backup crew but once again I had already rented the truck because it had been one hour since the call pushing me to 4 PM. All three were apologetic and were trying to find a solution but it was too late for me because I had already taken care of one myself. read more
