I have always been the top fan of oc dessert for their tofu custard but over time its just decreased in portions which im understanding of but its getting outta hand. Their lemon yakult too. It gets smaller in cup every time we order. Recently I ordered my usual taro ball sago tofu custard But i did not want taro balls, they added $2 to NOT have taro balls in my order..? Have been wanting to stop in and try some warm desserts. Ordered the black sesame tofu pudding and wow was it expensive $9 and change. It really wasn't good. The tofu pudding was a nice enough texture. But the black sesame was very watery and unappetizing. I've ordered the strawberry foam drink and it tasted watered down and lack of strawberries. The boba was too soft in the bubble milk tea. The taro ball tofu dessert was decent. The best thing was the tiramisu crepe cake was flavorful, not too sweet and creamy, now that was worth getting. Dessert shop conveniently close to 8th Avenue. It looks small when you first enter, but it's interior is extended so there's a lot of seating. There was only one server when I visited after dinner, but each table has a large button with smaller buttons around it that have options saying order, check, etc to make your visit more convenient. When you first walk in they have a menu on a screen in Chinese, but at the desk they have English menus as well. If your eating in they menus they give you will have English. The prices are the average prices of dessert places around the area. The food was also pretty much like kulus, which is also by 8th ave. However, this place has a couple more options. My biggest issue with this place is, I am willing to pay more for real juice, not the powder teas. For $5.25 a cup, I got the grapefruit juice, they put syrup in the drink and it tasted so artificial ! For another $5.25, my friend had the cucumber juice, which is the least expensive product to make juice out of, yet they added so much water to it, it tasted very watery, my other friend had grass jelly with bubble tea, average. My friend and I came here to try the desserts. I got the tiramisu mille crepe and the rose milk tea, and my friend got the durian mille crepe and durian smoothie. The food was delicious, and everything had just the right amount of sweetness. The packaging was very cute, and I found it difficult to stab the straw into the face of the pig. The fried chicken wings were also very well seasoned. The service was good, and the contactless payment was amazing since both of us were introverts. The only problem is, many of the desserts that we wanted to try were out of stock, such as the black sesame mille crepe and the rose mille crepe. The quality of the forks also weren't as good as I expected, since they had plastic forks that closely resembled those in the school cafeteria. This place is located in the basement in the 8th ave area. Love the back space interior with sofa chairs. Very cozy and quiet if not that many people talking so loud at once. There are books and candles to set the afternoon tea scenario. I ordered the mix fruit part of the menu of Papaya Pudding with a mango base with a scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream($5.25) , Green Tea thousand layer cake ($8.50) and Mango Fresh Juice ($5.50). The green tea or Matcha flavored thousand layer was really good and the texture and taste was very thick, however, a slice for $8.50 is a tad expensive in this area. I think this is the perfect place for afternoon tea. The fresh mango juice was a bit sour but then again, mangoes aren't in season nowadays. The papaya (again not in season) did not have any taste but the mango pudding base made the dish worth tasting. This is nice for a treat once in a while but not a daily go-to place. Definitely not the best dessert place but it satisfied my cravings. I ordered a snowy shaved ice with mixed fruit. The fruit was nice and juicy but the shaved ice fell short. It was literally just some shaved ice with some condensed milk. Texture was too icy for my taste and it was pretty overpriced at almost 7 dollars. I also ordered my favorite, mango pomelo and that was delicious. Hard to go wrong with such a classic dessert. Overall average quality but the decor of the place was rather nice. We were seated in a semi private booth with comfy seats. They have a call button which is convenient but it also means that there's not much service. As a disclaimer, I am only rating my experience getting a take-out slice of their Passion Fruit milles crepes cake right before closing. My partner and I had just finished a delicious round of pho and were slowly meandering our way home to help along the digestion and to combat the food coma that was clouding our brains. I decided before going in that we'd only take a look since we had already gluttoned out, but upon spotting the cakes they had on display, I knew we'd regret it if we left empty-handed. While waiting for the cashier to package our sweet, we delighted in the decor of the place - very intimate and warm, like an after-hours version of Prince Tea House with more brown upholstered furniture and moody lights. To that effect, a bad decision and $7.50 later, we had our slice of their Passion Fruit milles sitting on our dining room table waiting for our stomachs to stop bloating. About two hours later, we got spoons ready and were ready to dig in. My spoon sliced right through without resistance, surprisingly, as I nabbed my first bite. The cake tasted a bit spongey and had a slight hint of passion fruit - not too sweet or tangy, just right. However, I found myself unable to finish/want more because the sheer texture didn't appetize me. Just another typical Brooklyn Chinatown dessert place with a cozy interior! They got your average sago, waffles, ice cream, crepe cakes, and bubble tea. The only foods that differentiate them are the tofu pudding (with taro!) and the waffle burgers. I wanted to order a strawberry Mille crepe cake but sadly, that particular crepe cake can only be ordered ahead of time and as one whole cake form! (They should have noted this on the menu!) I ended up ordering a Passionfruit Mille crepe cake which wasn't even on the menu! Strange. The taste of the Passionfruit Mille crepe cake reminded me of Japanese sake but nonetheless, I really enjoyed the taste of the layers of the cake. The cake is pretty comparable to and taste just as good as Prince Tea House crepe cakes. I will even give props to them for having Passionfruit flavored crepe cakes too as I have never heard of that before. Something to note is that the waffles here are more on the mochi chewy side! So if you're into more crunchy textured waffles, I would not recommend getting these! Stopped by here to pick up my boyfriend's favorite dessert to cheer him up, but was initially a little disappointed to find that there weren't many options for customizing. However, I do have to say that they have a good variety of desserts including sago, dessert drinks, sweet soup, tofu pudding, and crepe cakes. I picked up a tofu pudding with taro and sweet potato balls and red bean topping to-go. At first I was surprised that it was only $6, but it's not that big of a serving. When we opened the container at home, it definitely looked very unappetizing due to the tofu breaking up, but it tasted good! Surprisingly, the tofu and taro glutinous balls were very soft and chewy! Love how there are LOTS And LOTS of choices for dessert and drinks! Not to mention real food! I order the jasmine milk tea and it's a game changer to all milks tea! It's goes down so smooth down your throat! I love this place more than prince tea house because honestly I'm sick and tired of the menu over there. Nothing chances and every time I go I only end up getting the same thing so coming here is a great change! There's so much more to try here and I just can't wait! They even have some intimate booths in the back that are dimly lit, but not sure what they're going for here. They have an extensive menu and most of the mango, strawberry, sago, ice cream, tapioca, durian, red bean, etc. combinations you can think of. Went for the simplicity of sago and a mango base (note this does not come with mango fruit!). You have to ask for mangoes to go with it. Another dish we ordered contained some delicious mangoes and ice cream. I think the best tasting Hong Kong dessert shop in NY thus far. Sweet potato fries & spiral fries were crispy, but it just your typical fries. Turkey Waffle Sandwich: Turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, and a thin waffle used as the bread. I'm typically not a sweets type of person, and this place has been opened for quite some time now. I haven't had the chance to really come here and try since I thought it was your typical Chinese owned dessert place, but I am glad I came and gave it a try. Environment: Decoration is really modern and very cozy. Looking from outside you'll think the interior is small, but stepping inside, surprisingly it's fairly spacious with a good amount of seating. Customer Service: I minus one star due to slow service. I haven't physically ate inside, but the last few times I ordered to go, my orders took way too long to make (approximately 15-20 minutes). Not sure if the things I ordered takes longer or they just slow when it comes to making their dessert.... Food: My boyfriend tried their mango pancake and something with herbal jelly, and he said it was not bad. My favorite so far from this place is their snow part of their menu. It's something different and not much dessert places around offers that, so that's a plus. It isn't overly sweet and it is well balanced. They have a good amount of things to choose from within their menu, such as cold and hot crepes, waffles, cakes, etc. I haven't tried any of these yet, and not sure if I will either. A cute, cozy cafe that is located downstairs in a populated town of Brooklyn. Inside, the tables and seats are separated from each other so you and your friends can have a quiet conversation amongst each other. I had the earl grey milk tea. It was tad sweet but delightful. However, the customer service was great despite the server speaking mandarin and limited English (I speak Cantonese). Stumbled across this place when walking around 8th ave. Not sure if this is a new place or not but definitely a hidden gem. They make their own crepe cakes very similar to the famous Lady M cakes! However, the taste is a bit different with theirs. They have tables in the front and a cozier booth section in the back. Definitely perfect for date nights!
