This is a great experience and highly recommend for people traveling to Lexington for summer events. Candied Bacon is a must, can be brought back home and turned into a wonderful BLT. Donut's are a must for first time visitors as well. Maybe after three visits you can settle down to exploring your favorite breakfast items. Specialty drinks are also a must for first timers. Okay the bill becomes higher than a normal stop but what an adventure. read more

I literally couldnt wait to write this review.. as we drive back home with our bellies satisfactorily stuffed, let me give you 3 reasons why this is a MUST-VISIT: 1. The drinks! The craft drink menu was creatively named with drinks that tip their hats off to wrestler culture - "The Mean Gene" and "The Rock" and "Mr. McMahon" which were all very delicious! Everything was fresh and not syrupy! 2. The service. I couldnt thank our servers enough- from the host Justin to the exceptionally talented bartender Iverson, to our sweet server Ferris and the manager Chris who made sure we were enjoying our dinner- they were all helpful, swift, and observant and you can tell they genuinely wanted to make peoples experience one of a kind! 3. The food!! If you allow me I will run on and on but me and the fiance were sooooo happy we came! We ordered the watermelon and burrata salad and the bacon in a glass to start- YES I SAID BOURBON BRUSHED BACON IN A GLASS WITH A PEANUT BUTTER DIP! We had the chicken & biscuits and steak & frites for our main courses and If I wasnt impressed before, this did it! And forget what I said about not being a dessert girl, the follow up jump shot to our delicious meal were the donut balls with raspberry, chocolate, and caramel dip! I am going to make it my mission to revisit this place- the interior is beautiful and theres a wide array of things to choose from- I promise you will not be disappointed! 5 STARS!! read more

OBC Kitchen - Delicious af - Salad Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

Came in today and was served by Elizabet (according my to my check). She has a cast on her arm with some dope artwork. I'm alone and just wanted some good food. I started with the "Into The wild" cocktail, I'll give it 4/5! Definitely something to try if you're into tequila drinks. I got the salmon potato skins (3.5/5) and short rib tacos (5/5) from the appetizer list. The tacos are amazingggg, so tender and great entree if you're dining alone. The potato skins were good, creative and tasty, but just something I wouldn't order again. I asked elizabet for suggestions on food and she recommended those dishes and gave me lots of useful information to make my choice. I'll def be coming back for brunch sometime this summer read more

They have some of the best drinks in town. We tried the caramelized bacon with peanut butter and were amazing by how great it was .

We have never been to OBC before and it was a great experience. Quality food, great environment, and great service. Would highly recommend. Prices are reasonable. read more

The service was great went on my daughter birthday 24th. Brunch was excellent highly recommend

This is my favorite restaurant in Lexington. The drinks and food are top notch! I went there twice this week! The potato skins are so delicious. I also had the Salmon which also gets 5 stars. The staff is friendly and service is great! Can't wait for next visit to Lexington! read more

The candied bacon is amazing! It's a must have! Entrees are awesome and give you more than enough to eat. The general manager is awesome and if you have an issue, he will take care of it - we had a minor issue with our experience, and he made sure to address it and resolve it. They have a full bourbon bar along with mixed drinks and other libations. Well worth the money and time! We will return! read more

Everything we ordered was fantastic! Started with the crab dip and strongly suggest it. The 4 of us had all different entrees including: Hot Brown Gorgonzola burger Warm roasted vegetable salad w shrimp & French dip If you're in the area this is a don't miss. read more

We were headed to a different restaurant but saw OBC and decided to check it out. It did not disappoint. There were four of us. We shared the smoked salmon potato skins, bacon in a glass and heirloom tomatoes, burrata & watermelon salad appetizers. All we're excellent. If you have to choose just one the bacon in a glass would be hands down for sure. For our entree we had steak and cake, also extremely excellent, and the donuts for dessert which also didn't disappoint. The cocktails were excellent as well. Excellent service made this experience even better. If we ever roll through Lexington again we'll definitely stop here. read more

One of my favorite dinner spots in Lexington. The wall of bourbon is a sight to behold. I get the Steak and Crabcake each time and my wife loves the Short Rib Tacos. You wouldn't think of this as a taco place but they are some of the best in town read more

Went here after running a half marathon and got the classic bacon cheeseburger. This burger was anything but classic - it was by far the best burger I have ever had in my life! Highly recommend getting this if you go. Their bourbon menu is great but I got a beer this time and those selection were also great. Highly recommend eating here read more

Been to Malone's but never noticed this was next door! When with 2 girlfriends and one of their toddlers. The waiter was AWESOME! Was very patient when we were waiting for the whole party to arrive yet came back every so often to see if we wanted drinks or refills while we were waiting. Never felt rushed but then again it wasn't super packed. Sweet potato brulee - really good, not too sweet. really creative idea. Cola short ribs - sounded better than it was. Grits were awesome but short ribs were super chewy. Mac and cheese - it was okay Bacon in a glass - recommended! Overall the experience was wonderful and the waiter was very accommodating when helping us with sharing plates and getting some smaller "kid menu" type items for the toddler at our table. read more

Low quality pics, high quality meal! We headed to OBC for Lexington Restaurant Week and were so impressed with the selections offered! It looked like everything was also offered on the main menu, except the Key Lime Tart, which is great since everything was delicious and we will definitely be back to enjoy! Highly recommend starting your meal with the Stack Salad and the Brussels Sprouts from the Sides section of the menu. The Shrimp and Grits was incredible, with the creamiest grits and the right amount of spice from the sausage. I do wish I had selected the Banana Pudding Cheesecake as my dessert selection, as the serving size seemed larger based on other tables and the crust on the Key Lime Tart didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. Overall the meal was excellent and the Restaurant Week Deal was a steal! (The portion sizes are only a *touch* smaller; 3 oysters instead of 4 in the appetizer.) Not to mention the service was outstanding! read more

Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the land of Bourbon. Naturally chosen because Yelpers highly recommended it. If you are a Bourbon lover you must come here. An amazing list of the finest Bourbons, even the very rare Pappy Van Winkle. Very creative craft cocktails and straight one or two ounce pours. All at reasonable prices. The back lighting for the hundreds of bottles behind the bar is so beautiful and helps to set the mood. Our server Akeem was born and raised in Lexington. Quite frankly one of the best servers I have ever encountered. The servers are all intensely trained. Akeem knew the spirits list and menu items backward and forward. He was able to answer all of our questions with without hesitation. All servers spend a lot of time in the kitchen learning about the preparation of the menu items. They also go out to the local distilleries to sample the offerings. Our menu items were as impressive as the spirits and cocktails. Terrific fried oyster appetizer. Since I was on BBQ overload decided to go with the potato and horseradish encrusted salmon. Amazing, as was the wedge salad. Rave reviews about the pork tenderloin and the fried chicken. All menu items reasonably priced, presented beautifully and worthy of the five stars Yelpers give this establishment, Finally, the manager. Also on top of his game. Not just the usual "is everything ok?" but a genuine concern about our experience. Like Akeem, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. When asked if there is a local affordable hidden gem we should seek out, he smiled and told us to walk down to the Rite Aid after dinner and look on the bottom shelf of the whisky isle. There we would find a six year old Heaven Hill Bourbon that was a steal. Sure enough we found and purchased two large bottles that we squeezed into a suitcase. : ) read more

Had a ribeye- it was awesome! 600 bourbons in house but I'm not a Bourbon guy, I drank a true German import beer. Steak was great! My wife had a filet and crab cake. The crab cake was one of the best I've ever tried! A ton of crab meat!!! I'd definitely recommend this place! read more

Love love OBC! Great restaurant for special occasions. The bacon appetizer is the bomb! Food is great, servers are friendly snd provide excellent service. Good bourbon selection. read more

This was our first time at OBC Kitchen, we loved the ambience. It would be great for a date night. There were so many things on the menu we wanted to try so we ended up splitting the gnocchi entree, which the kitchen brought out on two plates. It was cooked to perfection with just the right about of spice in the sauce. The bacon in a glass was so yummy. We tried a few bites of the smoked mac and cheese, it had a good flavor but the sauce was very thin and didn't stick to the noodles, I expected better. The wine was delicious, we had the Cashmere Black Magic. All in all, we had a great experience there and would go back to try more of what they have to offer. read more

I have frequented this restaurant for the past year and unfortunately it continues to decline. I came for Sunday brunch, sat at the bar. Bartender was incredibly slow, but yet lots of bar backs standing around. Get my food, $20 burrito is cold. Sent it back, even though I hate to do that but it wasn't very edible. By the way had to grab a waitress walking by to send it back, no acknowledgement from bartender. Get a new burrito, potatoes inside are still cold. Not one person checked back in on the food. Completely ignored - had to ask for my tab. For the price of the food the service and food are severely lacking Will not be going back and do not recommend read more

We had dinner there last night after a long day of driving from CT. The atmosphere is great, the food was delicious & our bartender, Akeem, was on point!! He is a wonderful front lines person for your business!! Other staff was great as well!! We will definitely be back!! read more

OBC Kitchen was the perfect ending to a long drive. We had the pork tenderloin and New York strip. The New York strip was AMAZING! The tenderloin was good. The watchman smoked bourbon drink was perfect! We had the rock and the back home also. They were both great. The atmosphere was casual and happy. We will be back again if we are in Lexington. read more

I haven't reviewed OBC?! I guess I was holding out, hoping it wouldn't get too crowded... no such luck, even without my review. Be prepared to wait in line for a table, or sit at the bar. The bartenders are some of the best in Lexington anyways, so it's not a bad last resort. It's a Bluegrass Hospitality Group restaurant. You know? The geniuses of Harry's, Malones, Aqua Sushi, and Drakes. What does OBC stand for? Old Bourbon County... and it's literally one of the best bourbon spots in Lexington. I wouldn't really categorize it as a bourbon bar because the ambiance and food are A-Mazin. Not your usual bourbon bar, for sure. The cocktail menu changes from season to season, it seems. Quirky names and such. Fun garnishment alongside the drinks. Or you can have a good ole' fashion, it was the first time that I'd ever witnessed one muddled with real sugar cubes. The food... I've had several of appetizer like options and they were a nothing short of amazing. Thick slabs and I do mean slabs of bacon, short rib tacos... and warm donuts. Tons of variety and nothing at all to complain about. GO HERE! read more

Can't ask for a more perfect restaurant it's one of the best in the area and I recommend to anybody visiting and or have not been here yet. Brunch is phenomenal last time I was there I had the Turkey Avocado Everything Bagel and as a person from New York this bagel was excellent and everything on it just blended so well. Dinner here is one of the best experiences you can have for a starter I had Bacon in a Glass which is bacon glazed and it comes with peanut butter for a dip and I never thought it would work but this bacon with peanut butter was amazing, My main meal was the Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger and they cooked it medium rare just the way I like my burgers. You can also sit either outside or inside both are great especially the inside it's so cozy and you can always sit at the bar which is one of the nicest kept bars I've been to in a while so please if y'all have not been here yet please try once and you won't regret it. read more

Nice atmosphere. Friendly and service oriented bartenders. Good music. Bacon & cornbread apps hit the spot. Bourbon for miles. Good wine and beer selection too. Lots of double magnums on display with decent prices in case you really want to overdo it. Wish this was in my neighborhood! read more

OBC Kitchen - Thick cut sugar cured lean (?) bacon - nice - Salad Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

My husband loves the bourbon selection! I love the food especially the bacon appetizer and their Hamburger!

Awesome everything! We love sitting at the bar and sharing delicious appetizers! Services is consistently great!

I have not tried the food at this place yet but I wanted to give them a review based on my customer experience thus far. It is #Lexburgerweek and I called to reserve a table for eight people; I am sure they are very busy during this eventful week and OBC Kitchen still took the time to call us back and let us know that they had ran out of their burger week burger. That is a great customer experience already. I will update this review once I've had a chance to try the food. Can't wait. read more

My daughter booked reservations for Friday night about two days prior. She had visited once previously and was excited about the new menu items. The ambience is nice, definitely upper scale, alit nicer than I was expecting from the name; however, Old Bourbon County Kitchen suits it adorably. The bar is absolutely beautiful with a huge selection. We had been fasting all day so we were famished. We ordered a slew of appetizers plus their warm/salty house bread so we filled up early. We started with Fried oysters (my favorite), the Turf and Surf- loved the beef carpaccio!, the crab dip- came in hot and very rich but yummy, and finally the salmon potato skins which were also delicious. For entrees we had the seared halibut (flavor was good but it was a little over cooked/dry), and the cola braised short ribs which were scrumptious! Overall this plays deserves 4-5 stars for sure. The service was a little slow. Our server was very nice and attentive but he did tend to run away too soon each time he visited the table making it difficult to get his attention for other needed items. We will absolutely come back to enjoy more. We've heard great things about brunch so we will be hitting that up next! Try it out!! read more

It's been a while since I've visited, but I have been there quite a few times, and I never leave disappointed. They have the best bourbon selection in town, the bartenders are nice and knowledgeable, and are also the ones who develop and invent the house cocktails, and having the vast BHG food menus to order from is icing on an already amazing cake! read more

Great food, great service. We live in Michigan and are always tempted to make the trip to Lexington just to eat here.

For a new bourbon lover, OBC might just be my new shrine to worship caramel colored, liquid joy. With over 400 bourbons to choose from, OBC feeds my new found love/hobby. Sitting at the bar, looking forward to enjoy a flight of bourbon, Clint made me feel like a regular. Despite having multiple flight options from cheap to ridiculous, I settled on the Sweet Wheat flight with W.L. Wellers 12-year, Larceny, and Maker's Mark private Stock. I knew I was in for a treat that wouldn't break the bank. After sipping my way through a maple forward bourbon with peach nites and wa hint of pepper (WELLER), vanilla and oaky highlights (Larceny), and caramel with vanilla and oak (Makers Private) I was ready for some food. The crispy oysters were just the fix and the hot from the oven rolls the perfect compliment. Awesome service, a great menu, and an even better ambience - I can't wait to come back for dinner or bourbon! read more

Okay, if anyone tells you this place is overhyped, or priced, don't listen. The atmosphere is perfect for a bourbon bar and kitchen. The bar is STACKED with every kind of bourbon you could want, they of course have other alcohol but come on, you're here for bourbon. The interactive menu on the iPad is the perfect experience. You can see price, picture, and even wine pairings of each menu item. We had a few samples of bourbon, the Zoltar, and the 411. For dinner we chose the pork tenderloin and the chicken biscuits. WOW. We split the meals between us and every bite was perfection. Justin behind the bar served us and knew the answer to every question, he also boldly guided us to some great bourbon selections. I highly recommend a reservation, but they do take walk ins. It's a small space so you're best trying to reserve. read more
