Good place for a light snack at a cheap price. I had the small lychee milk tea. This is the only place I know who does small sizes and it's so cheap $3.25! I also had my first bubble waffle. I really like the texture! I got the popcorn chicken with it and it was a great combo. The non-spicy version is spiced well, and the coating is tacky like breadcrumbs. It was supposed to come with maple sugar but didn't. I was here on a Friday night in October and it was quite busy. There are a few tables set up and they have signs during COVID limiting the number of people at a table. Have a small bite, have a drink, chat with friends, or just have a roof over your head. While quite a few other restaurants are still open, most of the time at that hour, all I want is a small bite. That's what makes Oasis perfect. With a line extending to the door, clearly I am not the only one with that opinion. Let's be clear though, it's not the food or the drink that one goes there. Admittedly, their food is quite reasonable and plentiful for the price. That's a 3.5 stars rating. Popcorn chicken and fries seem to be most popular. I tried the less common popcorn shrimp and takoyaki, quite reasonable, especially for the shrimp that is not all batter, American style. I have found the drinks to be inconsistent, tasteless to spot-on. I keep to the predictable milk teas to avoid disappointment. Drinks are 3 stars. Have heard this was one of the OG boba places in Seattle so I had to check it out when I was in town. I came here back in 11/2020. The place inside was really dark and overall a bit run-down looking. It was really quiet when we went on a weekday at around 7pm. We got a green milk tea with pudding and black milk tea with boba . Both drinks were just alright. I always ordered large avocado smoothie with boba and recently available Crystal boba at least every other weekend. This weekend I couldn't go to the ID so my husband got one for me and one for my son. I got to drink it probably 45 minutes after purchasing. However, the color of it didn't look like avocado's. It looked black (see attached picture). I thought my husband had ordered something related to black sesame but he said he ordered avocado. I bought one of their gift cards online during a promotion and last week I went to go use it and the guy cashier with the blonde hair didn't know how to redeem it and he didn't even ask for help, instead he just made us pay with a card. Then the second time I came to try to redeem it, it was the same cashier and he tried entering the code and said it didn't work and I made him ask a coworker for help cause I've used their gift card often. So someone helped and it worked. Then we waited 10-15 mins for the food and asked for an update and they said oh it never got sent to the back. So we had to wait another 15 mins. After a 30 min wait, half of the order was missing. He didn't even try fix the situation so I left. I literally only come to oasis for the popcorn chicken, waffle fries, and royal milk tea but it's not worth it anymore after this experience. this place has a rat and mice infestation. they also prepare raw chicken in a cardboard box ON TOP of a trash can and it's left out for hours. the kitchen is filthy, the management is horrible, and the food they serve legitimately makes people physically ill. I rarely give one star reviews but it seems the customer service and of this business has really gone downhill. I have used the online ordering system three times in the last couple of weeks and each time my order was never made in time. They usually start making the drinks a few mins after you have checked in with the cashier. On average I wait 45-55 minutes from the time I placed the order online to when I actually get the drink. The business states online that their preferred online ordering system is through toasttab which I use and it gives the estimate of about 10-15 minutes during non peak times which is when I order. The orders are never ready on time or even near the time it states it will be ready. I understand if a business is short handed or if they are simply running behind but the trend at this business seems to be that their staff is simply not trained in customer service and could care less about the service or product they are providing. They never acknowledge if an experience falls short. It saddens me because like many seattle lites this bubble tea shop has been around for some time and has lots of nostalgia but it just seems to be going downhill fast. An oasis for popcorn chicken fans! My friends and I came here after work for some popcorn fried chicken and waffle fries, which was a solid combination! Once you order at the counter they give you a number to pick up your food. For the chicken and waffles fries combination, you're only provided two sauces without an additional fee. Food was good! Yeah I get it, it's the general consensus that Oasis boba milk tea is mediocre and quite inconsistent. BUT, you cannot deny their snacks are great for social pit stops and cravings. Rude service and Covid violations. A woman walked into the store in line not wearing a mask. When i asked her to put on a mask she went off yelling at and threatening me. She then cut the line and went up to the cashier and got her drink and left. When I spoke to the cashier after ordering I was told she didn't have to wear a mask because she was eating in line (not at a table). She also told me she used to work at Oasis and didn't have to follow the rules "like everyone else." When I mentioned wearing a mask is the law she said that "no one follows all the laws". The rest of the people working backed her up and asked "what's my problem" while pulling her mask down to tell me this. I ordered bubble tea through UberEats and when I received the drinks two of my drinks tasted watered down (no flavor and the other one didn't taste like strawberry crunch). Mind you the music they play in there is always loud and on full blast - my husband was making sure they could hear him through all of the noise. My husband said "if that's the case then why did you guys throw away my drinks?" One of the managers came back from his break and one of the employees who were helping me went and told him that my husband was being rude and giving them an attitude. In the midst of all of this the manager spoke to my husband and explained the situation to him and he said "sorry for the inconvenience and of course we can make you new drinks". None of the employees who were being rude apologized to my husband. When one of the drinks was done being made, my son went to go and grab it and the cashier rudely said to my son that the drink wasn't his - then someone had to correct him and tell him it was. Overall this situation could've been dealt with more professionally, I'm not coming here again if this is the service they're going to be providing. There's no need to throw an attitude - bad day or not. They should listen fully to what's being said before deciding to be rude. Decent drinks, terrible boba. I was hoping Oasis would be a decent boba spot in Chinatown. It's a spacious location and the interior has plenty of seating. It feels very open with the high ceiling and arcade games on the side. I can see how this place can be a hangout spot at night. As far as the drinks go, I was pretty disappointed with the boba. I got a taro milk tea with boba. I thought the taro milk tea was alright but the boba was WAY too soft. It was lacking the firmness that usually accompanies good boba. I have two kids, who are no stranger to bubble teas. So when we recently visited Seattle, we made sure to check out some bubble tea shops. While in the International District, we looked up what was nearby, and made a visit to Oasis Tea Zone. This bubble tea place is different to ones that we have been to before, in that it has a pretty big menu. Normally we get a list of flavors to choose from, and that's it - but this has hot and cold bubble tea, "bubbles" (tapioca pearls) in both large and mini, jelly bits, and "snow" (slush). Not only is the menu selection pretty big, but there were flavors on there that I had not seen before at other (small) places, like lavender and sesame (think red bean cakes). I couldn't resist the lavender tea, and I chose small bubbles, which I highly recommend over the regular bubbles. My daughter got a mango tea with mango jelly pieces, which was also delicious. The service was good, despite quite a crowd, and we enjoyed our teas while seated at the front of the cafe. There are plenty of seats to accommodate quite the crowd that they seem to get. I've never been to a boba establishment in Washington that treats people with such a lack of human dignity. One of the staff, Brian, rudely yelled at a patron to leave the store in front of everyone. A few costumers and myself watched the whole scene unfold, and feel that Brian's harsh reaction and anger towards the patron was completely uncalled for. No human being should be treated how this patron was, and for that reason I'll never support this boba establishment again.
