20 years living in a large home and facing 2 moves one locally and the other out of state: completely overwhelming and daunting. This move was mentally, emotionally and physically challenging. Thank goodness Oakley Relocation was to the rescue, literally. This moving team took care of every nut and bolt: from determining our needs with a walk through, to coordinating packing including hiring outside help to build personalized crates for our bronzes and artwork. Relocation consultant Traci was so professional and knowledgeable. She sent Stefan, who like most of the Oakley team has been with the company many years and a pro, and with a walk through he expertly assessed our needs. Traci took us step by step what to expect and gave us a timetable. She questioned what we desired on the front side and what she could provide on the backside day of delivery Including maid service to assist in unpacking and putting items away, which was so welcomed. The day prior to the truck arriving, the packing team arrived and completely took over, like a well oiled machine they were polished and professional. Every member of the team had their assignment and after laying down protective flooring and a ramp over the threshold they were on task. Efficient and careful with our treasures, they wrapped and boxed ready for the next day loading. Arriving on time again on move day, the team loaded and packed in record time. We thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with both teams: Tyler and his team packed us for both moves and transported the local move, David and his team handled the out of state move and it was a welcome sight seeing David pull up in his shiny rig at our new home out of state with a local team he handpicked to unload our things there. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish with Oakley Relocation and North American Van Lines. John Najera conducted a visual assessment in our home and promptly provided a binding quote. Jerilyn Lieser provided professional customer service throughout the document signing and booking process. On the day of the move, Sean and his guys showed up exactly when expected and busted their behinds loading our belongings into the truck.... they had to hustle our boxes up our 75 foot driveway with a steep incline by foot because our driveway was too steep for the truck. They did it all without complaining, and while joking and giving each other a playful hard time: "That's all you got? Goooo!!" Haha! I felt so badly but they assured me it was no worry and "Part of the job, ma'am!" We received phone updates from Sean along his way from San Diego to South Carolina (a call from Texas and a call from Virginia Beach) until our truck arrived within the originally proposed delivery time frame. On delivery day the crew arrived bright and early and unloaded every box, asking us where we wanted each item. Our destination residence has a flight of stairs at the entrance and a flight of stairs inside to a basement level and another set of stairs to the second floor. These men are absolute beasts. Hector Ortiz and his crew Chris, Angel, Enrique, Geraldo arrived before 8am! Our timeline was 8-10am. We were thrilled with their work. They had our 3200sq fr home loaded in the truck By 12pm! They used carpet plastic sheets and covering for the hard flooring. They also had sticky pads at the door and bottom of the stairs to collect any dirt from their shoes. Everyone was friendly and personable. They were a well oiled machine!! There was supposed to be someone come and crate our glass patio table. They never showed up. We used Oakley through North American Van Lines to provide moving services as we're moving from CA to TX, and they really have been great to work with. Trevor and Traci have super responsive as we went through the estimate and pricing process, and made the preparation process really easy. Tyler, Ernie, and Joey packed the few things we needed packed, and loaded the goods from our 2400 sq ft house quickly onto the truck--it only took them ~5 hours! Nick, the estimator for the move, OVER estimated us by 3,800 lbs--that is HUGE. I kept telling him that it was too high. He said, not to worry we would be refunded...yes, but the BIG detail not discussed nor highlighted was we only get 40 cents back on the dollar. He gets a higher commission. So deceptive. Over promise, under deliver. The company drags out the refund to the 10th day, only to miscalculate it. You have to watch dog everything. The manager, Linda in charge has little to none in customer service skills. Didn't even try to be fair with the huge overage quote. All my communications are in writing. They don't care. They have your money. The manager's back up is "well we got your things picked up and delivered...didn't we". Well, yes that is what I paid you to do. The delivery time was told up front 3-6 days with a range... ends up end of the range... 6 days because they delay to get extra loads. The packers and unpackers and driver were very good...sales estimator, operations and management--go some where else. read more

I have moved no less than 15 times in the past decade and have a lot of experience with movers. I must say, Oakley Relocation made this move the easiest one I've ever done. Papa Joe, Tyler, Ernie, and Lewis were fantastic. They were very nice and communicated clearly, and made sure I was at ease through the whole process. I just have to say that Hector and his crew, Chris, Angel, and Enrique did an amazing job with our move. I have been in the Navy for 10 years and have moved 5 times and have never had such a positive household goods delivery experienced. Let me just start out my review by saying I have never moved out of state before my entire life. We hired this company because from the start when I first made the appt. with Trevor Smith his professionalism and personality pulled me right in. The day we had to pack up what I thought was my forever home the team in California that packed us was Hector, Enrique and Angel and let me tell you can those guys pack. If I ever wanted to change professions and decided to work for a moving company as a packer/mover I would hire Hector and his team to teach me to wrap, pack and move they were so fast and absolutely nothing broke or was damaged thanks to their amazing packing. The team that loaded the truck was Felix, Mauricio, Dustin and Louie and wow they were just as fast as the team that packed up the stuff. They loaded that truck in one day and we had a lot stuff. They were all so very professional and super fun to work with. As for our truck driver Robert...what a great guy and a huge help in the process of our move too. That guy can definitely drive a truck and our stuff arrived in record time for us to move into our home in Las Vegas. He kept in contact with me the whole time to let me know what his schedule was and where he was at. He is a super cool guy to work with. When we got to Vegas Robert had a whole new team to unload our stuff and that team of guys were Steve, Rod and Brenen. They were so fantastic and such a great crew to work with too. My family has used Oakley Relocation for years when we were based in North County San Diego. My parents suggested I use them for my move from LA to Seattle since we've had good experiences with the company in the past and I am so glad we did! Kip and Jerilyn were responsive, timely and extremely helpful during the pre planning, quoting and very communicative with any change orders needed (additional permits had to be pulled in LA to move us out). Getting a quote was easy (using the video tool) and signing the contract was very straightforward. Kip was great at answering my many questions and I felt that he was available to speak with me at all times. On move out day (from LA), Justin and his crew (Travis and Norman) showed up on time and were fast and efficient. I'm not kidding, I was cleaning one of the rooms and I came out to the living room and everything was gone. I think these guys were in and out in under 3.5 hours and they packed up my entire kitchen and any breakables. On move in day (in Seattle), Bill and his partner were just as fast and efficient. With slightly complicated access to our building and an elevator, they were also in and out in under 3.5 hours and put together all of our furniture. Aaron Dietz was our van foreman and he was super responsive to all questions, requests, estimated times, and went above and beyond the call of duty. We signed a contract and we paid them in full to move us from Corona to Charlotte, North Carolina. Due to illness, we had to have them store it in their storage and they said all the items were kept in crates and ready to move. We paid the monthly storage fee and now that we are ready to move, they want to charge us the same amount which already was paid for packing and storing. There is no packing involved anymore and all packed items were supposed to be in the crates to be moved and when I asked them for the number of crates 10 days ago, they still have not answered my inquiry. I have a quote from another shipping company for $6,000.00 to move us but Trevor is asking for $20,900.00, not to mention that we have already paid them over $20,000.00. They are not trust worthy! Kip and Jerilyn handled our move from Rancho Bernardo to Omaha as professionally as we could have asked for. When it came time to pick a mover, I didn't take the task lightly. I feel like I'm a professional mover customer if that's a thing. By that, I mean my wife and I have moved 12+ times in our 15 years of living together. I stopped trying to do this kind of thing myself a long time ago. So, I guess I feel like a know a thing or two about hiring movers. I reached out to a half a dozen companies that I found in good old Yelp. Of the 6, only 4 got back to me the same day and Kip came out to give us a bid that night! This guy was hungry for the business and stayed in touch with me over the next few weeks as the quotes trickled in from the other companies. I love how tech savvy Oakley's team is. From quote to payment and all the steps in planning our move, we had an online portal AND several human points of contact. These people get it! Best of both worlds - technology and customer service! Pick up was flawless, the driver and crew busted their behinds getting us out on our desired date. A couple of days before our departure, Kip had Jerilyn check in with us to see how the packing was going. Well, it would have been a stretch to say we'd packed anything but rather than stress me out, Jerilyn offered to send a couple of professional packets over that afternoon to get everything knocked out. I thought we were better off "doing it ourselves" until I saw these guys get to work!!!! What had stressed me out and evaded me for weeks took them hours! For a few hundred extra bucks, my wife and I spent our final days in paradise with our boys, hanging out with friends, soaking in the sunshine. Forget packing!!! Even when I called in a bit frazzled the day before the load, Mariann (office manager I believe?) was so kind and patient, talking me through what to expect and how long everything should take. It was like calling into an office, thinking I had a problem, only to have my call answered by Dr. Mariann- The Move Doctor!! Don't use if you actually want to know where your things are or get them in one piece on the expected delivery date! Recently used them on a cross country move from Southern California. Everything sounded good on the phone and I was able to arrange for Ashley to come up and give me an in-person estimate, which inspired confidence. After that, it was all downhill. I got a call a week before the agreed move date saying that there was an earlier truck that they could get my things on which would likely get them to my destination by the following Friday. We rushed to get everything together in the far shorter time window and succeeded. The day of the move, they showed up almost three hours late. The people who were packing were not the ones driving, so the trailer went on to be re-loaded. Once I got to my destination, everything went wrong. The truck was not going to be there that Friday, but I was told it would definitely be there on Sunday. On Sunday after placing several calls to both Ashley and to the truck driver, the driver finally calls back to say that they have no idea where the trailer is. The truck finally made it to my place a full week after the company and driver told me it would be there, but several things were missing or damaged, including several items that the company packed themselves. Throughout the whole process communication with the company was next to impossible. After I finally got my things, I was given a delay compensation form to fill out, but guess what? My claim was rejected for still being within the window of delivery! Despite the fact that their agent gave me his word on the delivery date, the actual delivery was within their ten day delivery window and they don't feel I am owed anything for my time or suffering. I guess that's the difference between laws and morals. I'd pass on Oakley in favor of a business that cares about and actually keeps in touch with their customers. read more

Everybody hates to move, right? Well, I have the people who can make a drudge day into a fun day. I recently moved my folks from Carlsbad to Temecula (CA). There was another leg added to the move and that included going from Temecula to Murrieta with the remainder of their possessions. It was a long 9 hour day. The guys, Alfonso Medrano, JoJo M. and Javier, were awesome. They were extremely professional, patient, proactive, and would add a humorous comment here and there to break up the drudgery. There were zero dings, scratches, or breakage. And they were fast! The final bill came to slightly more than originally quoted, but I was happy to pay as we were a pretty taxing group that added to some delays that, obviously, cost extra. I will use them again and would highly recommend them. BTW, I had to change the move date at the last minute. Tracy, the sales person and contact, was extremely helpful and accommodating.
