My 800th Yelp review goes to the Oakland Harley-Davidson branch! They're conveniently located right by the Oakland airport, and they're very easy to spot on the road. I came here to explore my options when shopping for my first motorcycle. I was eyeing an Iron 883, and they were so kind to also let me test-ride the demo Iron 883 bike that they have in front of the store. The staff was all very attentive and kind with me, from the sales people, the parts people, the mechanics, and the gals working the retail clothing store section of the store. While I ultimately did not choose a Harley for my first motorcycle due to the fact that it feels too overwhelming for my current skill level, should I choose to own a Harley in the future, I would definitely want to come back to the Oakland branch!

Best experience I ever had. Great service and attention to the details of what I was looking for. Danny was awesome during the entire process, answering all my questions promptly. If you are looking for an honest shop with great people, than this is the place to shop. they even took care of me after the sale and addressed my concerns after getting the bike home.

I want to the thank Kenneth, Seth and Gina for being super cool. I'm happy to have purchased my first bike at OAKLAND HARLEY DAVIDSON. Kenneth was really helpful and dealt with all my paperwork. He took me on a tour and showed me around the entire dealership. He made this first time experience feel like I was a kid again at Disneyland (no kidding). I hope to see y'all in less than a year for my new Road Glide! Thank you!

My partner and I LOVE coming to this Harley store! Every time we've been here, we received the best customer service! Today we came to shop for a couple presents. One of the ladies (I think her name was Lisel) greeted us and was so welcoming. After a while she even checked in with us to make sure we were doing okay. When checking out, she went out of her way and basically packaged my presents in their own little gift bags (with tissues and even a ribbon!). She even went as far as whiting out the prices on the tags for me. There was also another lady (I didn't catch her name sorry!) who was so friendly and was chatting with us during our check out. All the employees here are so kind and helpful! We've been here couple times and always had a great experience!

Ask the Community - Oakland Harley-Davidson

Are you open Sunday?

Yes!

Does your dealership sell T-shirt's?

All day long! We even have a few styles available on our website: https://oaklandh-d.stores.dealerspike.com/category.aspx?zcid=51321

Which Harley dealership provides the best, reliable and trusted services? I've been with Lane Spitter and I have serious doubts when it comes to these areas...Great folks but their business practices are shady

I got perfect (and I don't use that term lightly) service from Oakland Harley-Davidson when I rented a new Harley for a ride to Idaho and back in May. That is my only experience with them. When you read Yelp for service ratings of motorcycle…

UPDATE: As stated in previous review, one of the primary…read morereasons Cycle Gear is my go to shop is the service. Cycle Gear support and service has always been excellent and a notch above the rest. I recieved a follow-up from Customer Service regarding the issue with this helmet and was issued a replacement RMA. Given I liked the ease of putting on the helmet without having to fumble and remove my glasses, the helmet fit well and was comfortable, has a nice wide field of vision and a surprising light weight for a Modular helmet, I ordered the same model. Original Review: Purchased a Nolan N100-5 Plus Helmet based on the reviews and features and purchased from Cycle Gear due to the price, but more importantly, the great service I have received over the years. Picked up the helmet at the store and at first glance what an awesome helmet at a great price. Comfortable fit, great look and solid build with nice features. Took the helmet out for a 20 mile ride and discovered that the right side of the helmet has an absurd amount of wind noise while the left side is great. I do expect some wind noise as this typical of Modular helmets, I own two other manufactures and they do experience some noise, but this is so bad that my right ear was hurting like crazy before the end of the ride. Note I was also wearing ear plugs which do a great job of reducing the noise matter of fact, the left ear was almost too quiet. There is an obvious problem with this specific helmet so I contacted Cycle Gear and was informed that they could not exchange or take the helmet back because I wore it and they recommended that I sell it on Facebook market place to try and get my money back. Over the years I have always been impressed with Cycle Gears customer service. They have always stood behind the products they sell and services offered. I now have an awesome looking helmet that is taking up space in the garage because I am unable to wear due to what I would call a defect in the helmet

I dropped off my wheels on Tuesday for mounting and balancing and was told they'd be ready the next…read moreday. I even took a PTO day to put the motorcycle back together based on that timeline. On Wednesday at 1:30pm, I had to call myself and was told they weren't doing them due to "inventory issues"--something that was never communicated when I dropped them off. I finally got a call Thursday saying they were ready, but due to the commute without a motorcycle I couldn't make it before closing. When I picked them up Saturday, only the front tire had been balanced. When I asked why, I was told to speak to the manager, who claimed the rear "didn't need weights"--even though the old weights (covered in brake dust) were still on the wheel. After pushing back, they rechecked it and suddenly the wheel needed new weights. That alone is concerning, but it didn't stop there. When I got home, neither tire was set anywhere near the correct PSI. Overall, this was a frustrating experience: poor communication, incomplete work, and questionable quality control. I've bought multiple tires from this shop over the years and ride about 19,000 miles annually, but the service and quality have clearly gone downhill. I wouldn't recommend them based on this experience.

Coliseum Industrial, East Oakland

First off, they moved. They're now at: 6601 San Leandro St…read more(94621) It's a better location because it's walkable from Coliseum BART. In the 2.5 years that I've been going there, the shop has changed hands twice, I think. Each time, it gets a little worse. Used to be, they were friendly, professional, and pretty quick. I got a bit of the "Dumb chick doesn't even know where her regulator/rectifier is" attitude, but I think that's to be expected. Anyway, as much as I feel some affinity for the place, and I think they're doing what they can, adjusting to a transition, etc., I feel compelled to share my most recent (and last!) experience there: 6/9/07: Take bike in for crash estimate. Damage appears to be minor, but need to be sure so I can get properly compensated by the woman who hit me. 6/15: They finally call me back to say the estimate's done (this is, mind you, half an hour of easy work). I go in the same day to look at the list of what's wrong, narrow it down to the things I actually want to have repaired, get an estimate for those repairs, and authorize the work to be done. This all went pretty smoothly. They said they had about an hour of work to do on it. 7/24: After numerous calls and various excuses (parts are on backorder, then received, but lost - gimme a break, it's a pair of bar ends!) I finally say I'm coming to pick the thing up on Friday, done or not. The mechanic I've been dealing with says he'll throw on some used bar ends for free and it'll all be ready to go (why he didn't offer this six weeks ago, I dunno) 7/27: The big day comes. I call in the late morning to ask them to hook it up to the battery tender for a few hours since it's been sitting for so long and I need it to start so I can ride home. I get passed around through a couple people and heckled because I can't get there earlier (they close at 6; I get off work in barely enough time to make it there). I get a call back 30 minutes later from an irate woman who wants to know why the heck my bike has been sitting there for so long (?!?) I explain that it's been ME waiting for THEM, then she flips out over the free (used, useless, for a long-time customer) bar ends. Tells me my mechanic is "no longer working there" Apparently they fired him the same day we had last spoke. Now, the guy may have been a bit disorganized, but he was a good mechanic, and these new folks are discourteous and clueless. Bottom line: I'm blaming them. Finally I go get the bike and they've managed to russle up some new bar ends for the thing ("we won't charge you for the (three minutes') labor to put them on" Oowie!) I pay for it all and scurry out as quickly as possible. Get it home and find: the mirror they replaced doesn't match the existing one and there's somehow a nut missing from the headlight (?!?). As a result, the bike's unridable until I can get the nut and whoever buys the thing is gonna find a way to take issue with the stupid mismatched mirrors. Sigh. Really, much of my frustration is that they robbed me of my last month to ride before I had to sell my bike, and forced me to sell it at a lower price because it's now late in the season for unseasoned riders. There's no compensation for that. Strong words to the would-be-wise: going to/from the City may be a pain in the patootie, but it's worth it to deal with O'Hanlon instead!
