Went there to get my front tire balanced. Hadn't been there in over 20 years. Somehow the owner hasn't aged a day - Very odd ! Excellent service and unparalleled in terms of knowledge of motorcycles. read more

I've been coming to this shop for years and I can honestly say it's one of the few places I fully trust with my bikes. The owner is always friendly, professional, and takes the time to explain what's going on instead of just throwing parts at the problem. Every time I bring a bike in, he treats it like it's his own. The work is always solid, the turnaround time is fair, and the prices are reasonable. It's hard to find a mechanic who is both skilled and genuinely cares about his customers, but this shop definitely does. If you're looking for a reliable motorcycle mechanic who knows what he's doing and stands behind his work, I highly recommend this place. I've trusted him with multiple bikes over the years and will keep coming back. read more

Good place to go.. Have fixed everything I've needed . Good people work here and take pride in there work . Thank you

Minor crash wrecked throttle/switch cluster. Tyler found a salvage unit and installed it promptly. He found corrosion on the wiring harness plug (female side) and cleaned, packed with dielectric grease to prevent future corrosion. To the point and prompt, one more example of excellent service and very fair pricing, and why I am still a customer after 12 years. read more

the owner is so helpful and kind hearted. I am a new rider(less than 1 year), I accidentally left my lights on overnight and led battery depelted. I have jumped the bike, and reving for 10 mins ( which is not the right thing to do), my coolant overheat expanded and backflow out of the cap, and I was panicking. I brought my bike to the ownder, and he lectured and reassured me on what to do, and assured me nothing is borken. He kindly top off the coolant for me, and did not even charge me anything. The value was great.I am very thankful for him, and he is the type of the figure that keep biker community alive and flourishing. read more

Relatively new rider (4yrs) and got my new Honda Rebel 500 in here for its first break in service. Tyler was great and friendly. Gave me some good pointers about maintaining my Rebel and things I need to do. The break in service and oil change was done the same day and for a great price. Definitely will be coming back here in the future for all motorcycle maintenance. read more

Tyler is a solid mechanic and veteran rider, he's a no BS, straight to the point type guy, don't expect to be coddled, why would you anyway? I don't understand any of the bad reviews, some people are too fragile or need to wait a minute before they fire off some knee-jerk reactionary review just because they were sour about their interaction with him. His work was always solid, fairly priced, and done quickly. read more

Hey, Been going to Tyler for many years. 20 maybe 25? He is the best ,forget the rest. I always ride out with a smile. Job well done. Again.I still have my original Honda '76 750 K6 that I bought brand new. Check him out. CD read more

Fast turnaround time! I took my R6 to Tyler to get some new tires installed. I dropped my bike off around 1pm and Tyler said he would get to my bike after lunch time. He called me back around 3pm to let me know the work was already completed. Tyler also went ahead and bled my brake fluids and adjusted my chain tension. Extremely satisfied and will come back here again! read more

I grew up riding and fixing my motorbikes in Asia and can tell between deep passion, love, and something you just do well and enjoy, here about these wonderful two-wheeled machines. Tyler, the founder of Hayasa, is definitely all of the above. Just 5 minutes into our interaction, Tyler lite up the hope that a pre-owned, stalled-in-traffic, craigslist-bought, outdated motorcycle just needs some TLC (from someone like him) to revive. He promptly ordered the parts and showed me the est. (very decent) cost and time, one surprise after another, and he did not even need any deposit. For me, this magic would shine through and I am very convinced all his reviews here have stood the test of time, so has the name Hayasa! Bring your bike here and be humbled by this motorcycle guru. read more

My bike was left for 5 months and not running. I got tow to Hayasa Motorbike. I called and my bike is ready for me to pick it up. I got to the shop I got shocked when I hear the charge for the repair..... I will never hear it from any other shop. It was too low.... trust me I got to get this fixed every summer. I know how expensive other shop charges. I'll never go elsewhere.... The owner taught me about the bike that I didn't know when I bought it. It was awesome to have someone who cares about your bike not just a business. read more

This guy helped me out big time when I was in a pinch. I got a flat tire and when I called him up, he said he would stay late to take my bike in. Very unexpected He gave me a really fair quote on a new set of front a back tires and got the job done well. All the while he communicated very clearly and honestly. Definitely coming back. read more

As the daughter of a mechanic and motorcyclist, I was conditioned from an early age in the world of gruff, eccentric guys in shops with poor people skills. I expect nothing different when I go to a motorcycle shop than to be treated like I am doing something wrong or asking too much - it's just the way it is in that environment, right? In the past year or so, I have had pretty good experiences with getting repairs done at Hayasa. Tyler is really good about cutting to the chase and providing his opinion on motorcycles, repairs and the like. In fact, if it weren't for his eye-rolling and disgusted sigh, impelling him to the keyboard to find an option to a used KLR, I wouldn't be on my DR650 now. Tyler had mentioned in the past that he could get better deals on some items - and I called to ask him about a helmet that I was interested in. When I went to pick it up - it did not fit at all - it was a 58-59 - and I needed the 59-60. He said "Well, I don't do returns so you'll have to sell it on Craigslist." Six weeks later - no bites. I asked him about it by phone - all he has to do is phone the distributor to authorize the return and I would ship it back - and he was very hostile and borderline verbally abusive on the topic. Now it is past 30 days and there's no chance of returning it to the distributor and all I can offer for this update to my original review is: TYLER DOES NOT DO RETURNS. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT MIGHT NEED TO BE RETURNED. Save him the stress and save yourself the hassle. Just go get repairs - do your own tire changes, head to Road Riders in San Jose or go online to Procycle.us for your gear - just don't stress the man out with your customer service oriented requests. One additional caveat: If you pay with Visa, the merchant contract requires that the merchant display their returns policy clearly or print it on the receipt (ie, "no returns/refunds/exchanges") while Master Card does not. Fast forward to several years later -- a friend was borrowing my DR650 for a trip. He asked that we meet at Tyler's shop where he wanted to change out tires and do a few other things, and we would trade bikes. My friend already ran this plan by Tyler -- when I arrived without my friend, Tyler took one look at me and said "How DARE you show up here! Leave before I call the police." I said, "Tyler, if there is something you want to talk about, I'm happy to listen." He muttered some obscenities and went back into his shop (mind you - I wasn't even on his property). I don't think that anything I wrote in in this review is bad enough to merit that kind of abuse. My friend and I went to another shop where he spent over $300 -- and Tyler has since "fired" my friend as a customer. read more

Tyler is very cool and knowledgeable. He will talk shop with you, and answer your questions easily, he's straight up and you will get a fair price for the work he performs, never a rip off in this shop. Today he even let me bring my bike in with just a call in the morning! Plus he showed me the best grease for my chain, and got the stubborn chain grease from my new chain off my rear wheel. A couple of weeks ago he showed me how to properly adjust my chain tension as well. He's great in my book, we need more shops with dudes like him. Thanks Tyler read more

Tyler is super helpful and reasonable. This place is a great neighborhood shop, not fancy.... And they're always playing good music

3 words to best describe Hayasa Motorbikes EXPERIENCED, AFFORDABLE, PASSIONATE!! needed some new tires and a quick oil change on the r6 and wow talk about great customer service!! Tyler takes the time to explain things and even show you hands on any motorcycle questions/concerns you might throw at them. they're motorcycle enthusiasts here not like at the local "stealerships" that wont even take a look at your bike without a appointment or fee of some sort. reasonable prices, good service, and great reliable work is what keeps me coming back. read more

The Good: I've been going to Tyler's shop for about ten years or so. He helped me choose my current VStrom bike and I love it. There is one thing about Tyler that you don't see too much and that is his fairness for his rates. He will inform customers of options in fixing the problems with their bikes, including suggesting getting it done by the stealership if the job is complicated. He is extremely kurt at times but never rude or condescending. I've had two bikes and lots of work done at this shop. There has rarely been a problem with the work and when there was, he was honest and fixed it right. The Bad: If he does not like your bike, he might let you know. He may not have his voice mail system set up so you cannot leave one. He's a one-man, sometimes two-man, shop so he has to get the phone and help the customers as they come in. It's amazing but you rarely have to wait too long and he answers the phone diligently. All that kurt behavior makes him very efficient. So don't take it the wrong way. The deal is that you have to call him when the shop is open and speak to him personally. After an oil change, ask him if he aired your tires. Most of the time he does. read more

I am a new rider and recently got my first bike. I was having difficulty finding a great shop I could take my bike to over time. After searching for a few days I came across the guys at Hayasa and I am so happy I did. Anton and Tyler are both two of the most honest mechanics I've ever met in my life. They truly seem to work with passion, as opposed to solely profits and figures. That's is something really rare. Their workmanship and service is a testament to that. I felt they took extra steps and care knowing that I was noobie rider. They gave me a lot of great advices and even inspected my bike. That really put me at ease. I actually ran out of gas pulling out of their shop. Anton lent me a gas can and even gave me a lift to the gas station. If that ain't five star service, I don't know what is. Thank you guys! Another happy customer! TL:DR Bring your bike here read more

Tyler always does excellent repair work, with quick turnaround time, a reasonable price, and lots of helpful explanation.

Tyler taught me how to tighten my chain and even let me borrow his tools. 10/10 would recommend this place!

Good Value. Quality Work. Timely Service. Admittedly, they can be a bit funny about working only on certain bikes... but in the end, a) I can't fault anyone for specializing, and b) when they agree to do something, they are experts at what they do, and respect the rider (and her wallet!) read more

I've had a lot of experiences with a lot of motorcycle mechanics, and this is the only one I'll trust to take care of my bike. The owner is friendly, down to earth, and honest. Yesterday, he fixed my bike in fifteen minutes while I waited and then refused to take my money. The same problem put me out a week of repairs and $700 later it was only a temporary fix at a different shop two years ago. My partner took their bike to a totally different shop, and that one took over a month to replace the chain, and then acted like jerks when they weren't available to pick it up the day it was done. I can't imagine this shop doing the same. Every time I get something done here, it is fast and affordable. Strongly recommend to anyone, he really knows his stuff and will explain it to you in a way that isn't condescending or elitist. read more

Tyler at Hayasa is THE PLACE to go if you have an old Honda. Especially to get the crappy front master break cylinder replaced with a modern one. I have a 76 Honda CB750 super sport. For a super fair and competitive price, he replaced my front brake master cylinder with one from a newer bike that matched. (I can't say what type, because he said it was one of his trade secrets.) And now the front break is just dreamy good. Perfectly responsive, yet smooth. I feel a lot safer on the bike. Added to all this he's super friendly, to the point, and will give you an honest answer whether something really needs to be repaired or not. I especially liked that he did the work to search for a used part on Ebay to save me money. If it's cleaned and remade by a professional like him, a used master cylinder is perfectly fine. I'm super happy with the work! read more
