This is a review for Moto Exchange (new name for Rockridge Two Wheels). These folks are fantastic. I had bought a used BV350 and discovered the oil filter door screws had been completely stripped. I had inquired at another shop and was told it was too risky to fix with the state of the screws. That it was likely once the door was removed it would not reattach and this would require replacing the whole engine casing and once you take into account parts/labor cost etc etc it would cost more than what the bike is worth. I was in the mindset that I was now riding this bike until it inevitably dies. Flashforward to now, and I take it into Moto Exchange for what Im thinking is its last oil change before the end. And I'm telling Alex about the stripped screws, I ask if he can take look on the faint hope that maybe they think something can be done. But I am not optimistic. Luckily for me the mechanics at Moto Exchange are top notch and were able to put in inserts so the oil filter door could safely reattach. After a full service and repairs of some other discovered leaks, my BV is running like new. ------- Very friendly and accessible vibes in the shop. Everything was clearly explained and I found communication to be excellent over the week or so it took to fully repair my bike. They called anytime there was a potential change or update to the repair job, explained clearly, and asked for explicit sign off. 10/10 experience. read more

I walked in just wanting to take a look and see what bikes they had. My family loves motorcycles and dirt bikes, brothers a pro dirt biker. But as I walked around no one even acknowledged me. Not one person even said hi. Very unwelcoming and gives a bad feeling when your in these parts and your brown skinned. They've been in business for quite a while and every time I go in I'm treated pretty well. And I have not heard anything bad about them from others. They have a pretty good location and setup. He was super knowledgeable and helped to answer all my questions (and even the dumb ones with no judgement). Not only did these guys have me in and out in 1.5 hours but they charged almost half of what Elk Grove quoted me! This is the best place to get your scooter repaired, hands down! When my Liberty 150 was vandalized, I took it to this shop for repair. Alex and the service techs were experts in working on my scooter. Alex kept me informed and explained the repairs and costs thoroughly. I purchased a brand new Vespa from these guys which is supposed to come with black mirrors. For some reason mine had chrome. My only guess is that they took them off to please another buyer with black mirrors and swapped them out. I talked to Brian before buying the bike about it and he said he would get me black mirrors and would talk to the rep. I call and text and either get the run around and hear crickets from them. These guys are the best. I thought it'd be smart idea to change my own tire, but halfway through, I got stuck, realizing my tools weren't so great and I became worried about messing up my rim. Potential customers, please read my small novella before embarking on an inevitably crappy journey down a long, stupid road. I literally signed up for yelp just to write about this experience: I went to RTW because it was nearby, it has 4 stars, they sell and service cool bikes, sign me up! Unfortunately, I did not dig into the many 1-star reviews further down the page until after my trashfire experience with them, and woe is me, I regret it. (Potential RTW customers: DNA Motorlab is worth the hike, and I wish I had gone there instead. Please give them your business, they are wonderful.) I called and talked to Bob about installing an aftermarket clutch lever on my motorcycle (Ducati Scrambler). This is a ridiculously easy task, but a stripped nut required drilling/cutting that I didn't have the tools to do on my own, so I went to them for help. The first warning sign I ignored was that they failed to mention the replacement bolt that would need to be ordered (specific to my bike) since the old one would be wrecked in the disassembly. I had to point it out to them, and they told me I had to buy it myself. Ok. Sure. Whatever. Warning sign 2: Blatant sexism on full display. When I called to ask a follow-up question, Bob asked me "why isn't your boyfriend helping you with this?" Well Bob, hate to break it to you, but I don't need a man's help finding a bolt, nor do I need your rude and misogynistic jokes attempting to undermine my intelligence or my ability to complete a simple task despite my tragic lack of a Y chromosome. Thanks for solidifying the stereotype of motorcycling being a macho hobby/sport that women can't be party to or have any knowledge of, though. Very contemporary view! 2020! Ignoring the red flags, I finally take the bike to get the lever installed. I pick it up later that day. I thought the story was over. Think again! The next day I go to start the bike, it won't start in gear. I realize that the extremely knowledgeable and capable mechanic(s) didn't install the kill tab, and that the bike had been in neutral when I had--blissfully ignorant--fired it up and ridden away from RTW with my new lever. Little did they know (dun dun dunnnn!), I had read through the assembly instructions and knew all the directions/parts required for the install prior to taking it to RTW. Despite being a woman, I know how to read! I call them (2-3 times, because they didn't return my phone calls) and they claim the kill tab wasn't in the box when they did the install. I literally have an email from RevZilla guaranteeing that all the parts--including that one--were in the box after a previous issue with this. RevZilla and ASV and I must all be lying. That's the only answer here, according to the fully realized humans at RTW. I attempt a protest ("I'm 1000% sure it was in the box and I have documentation to prove it"), but it's my word against theirs, and who am I? A dumb woman! Then, in a remarkable turn of events, they tell me during a second phone call that the mechanic *definitely* installed it, because they no longer had it in their possession. Wait a minute. Let's get this straight, you didn't install it because it wasn't in the box, but you definitely installed it because it was no longer in the box. That makes sense. There are a few possible scenarios here. It could be ASV--probably the most respected manufacturer of this particular part--manufactured the kill tab SO poorly, it just fell off as soon as I rode away. Or could it maybe, just maybe! be your mechanic, who installed it incorrectly, and that caused it to fall off? Or was he just so absentminded in his "work" (sigh) that he just forgot to put it on altogether and the tiny little piece made its way onto the floor and into the trash? Or could it just be your entire lousy business sucks top to bottom, and you're too shitty to admit a simple mistake and be held accountable for it? Occam's Razor strikes again! For RTW, it seems the only viable scenario was that I didn't ask my boyfriend for help, so I must have removed that essential part from the box in a fit of female hysteria. Sorry Bob, I'm not the dumb woman you thought I was. TL;DR: don't go to this place--unless you want to deal with sexist nincompoops who have absolutely no idea what they're doing and refuse to be held accountable for blatant and sloppy errors. Great spot with genuine people. IN BOB WE TRUST!! Came to test ride the new Royal enfield line up. The 650 twin as well as the Himalayan. Called in and Bob said to come through no problem. We got to talking about bikes and rides, Bob is the real deal. He rode through India, on an Enfield. He's a kind and genuine and relaxed guy. I took 2 bikes out for a test and after the ride he did not pressure me at all. I felt like I was talking to a friend more than a guy who sells bikes. I thanked him and returned him as I like to sit on big decisions. Next day I called and he prepped me a new Himalayan, with the side racks and hard boxes and battery tender. These guys are asleep at the wheel and fail at providing even the most basic customer service. They list bikes for sale that will not be there when you come visit and will look at you confused and mumble how they don't know where the bike is. You can make an appointment to come in to test ride a bike and instead of giving you a call to let you know it has been sold, they'll just wait for you to waste your time and come in so they can look confused (again) and tell you "I don't what the deal is....I guess it sold...". I was wondering why I've never heard of these guys and now I get it. Don't waste your time giving your hard earned dollars to people who seriously don't give a $hit about their customers. read more
