So it's annoying that I've been coming here probably since they've opened. Although the food is good the staff always seems to be a hit or miss, but mainly a miss. It's annoying that you still need to stand in this long ass line that wraps around the display case even when you're not ordering any pastries. O'side Bakery has failed to disappoint our brood of specific eaters. Whether we've called-in, dined-in, or ordered from a delivery service, the food has been impeccable. Service has always been exceptional as well. Today, two of my three kiddos and I dined-in for breakfast. We ordered a veggie scramble with hash browns, the egg plate with fruit, a sausage breakfast burrito, a delicious honey lavender latte, and three croissants (to go). Everything arrived at the right temperature and brimming with flavor and freshness. The amount of fruit was generous and enjoyed by everyone. The baguette that came with two of our meals were delicious slathered in salted butter goodness, or as-is, if that's how you roll. Heh. Roll.... The excitement over this neighborhood spot has yet to slow down and is a favorite for many Oceanside residents. The music streaming over the speakers support the laid-back vibe the bakery has. Can't believe someone did 2 stars because prices weren't posted in window. Food here is delicious. Omelets are thin egg wraps stuffed with goodies. The hash brown have that crisp outside and creamy interior. The French toast is decadent and loaded with strawberries. The bakery items are perfection. Delicious almond croissants. Having been in the restaurant business most my life, I almost never send food back and I've never left a bad review. However today's experience was so bad that I would feel bad not to. We ordered breakfast and coffees. Coffee order got screwed up . No biggie. My companions omelet was wrong 3 times before we finally said to just refund us so we can go somewhere else. The service and attitude of the employees was horrible. Never had I had such rude behavior in the service industry. They weren't even busy. I will never go there again. Food was overcooked. Fruit was underripe. The butter was literally frozen. Spent $50 to be treated like this . They wouldn't refund and you pay before you are served. My friend was wearing his sheriff's jacket and a couple officers told us after that they hate cops and they are located right next to the police station. read more

The desserts are always delicious! It's our go to breakfast place. I always order to go over the phone or app and never experienced any delays. The food is always made fresh and quick. And when I have had the pleasure of dining in, my experience has been great as well. I think you could love this place if you really want the text book bakery. They seemed to have good baked goods and our food was good. They don't offer anything Gluten Free and they offer no breakfast meat that is not pork. Both these things make it a miss for me. In addition the organization is a little off with the ordering at the counter set up. Always a bit of a headache getting more coffee or something in this setup. Again if you want some traditional bake goods and breakfast you'll probably be happy. For me a miss and standard fare that you can get at any such place. read more

Went in for the first time in February, picked up some French pastries for a surprise birthday we planned for my boyfriend. They were a hit! The pastries look small(regular) online, but once you actually go inside their lovely smell good bakery/restaurant they are bigger than you expected, which is great! Lately this has been my go-to spot for quick breakfast and lunch with friends. The staff are all pretty friendly and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed and low key. They have WiFi and good coffee, so I could see this being a good place to study or get some work done. You order up front and seat yourself at one of the tables in the casual seating area which is decorated by artwork from local artists. The desserts in the display case all look so tasty and colorful- so half the time, I end up caving in and getting a dessert too.
