Family owned Korean/ Japanese food with a Noodle Bar in Austin, TX with a first ever stir-fry machine?! By weight Noodle bar: (A) Pick from soup base - lamb or beef - Meat combo - veggies - Pork - Seafood - Seafood + meat * choose your base (tonkatsu, miso, curry, mala, kimchi or mushroom * Choose the noodles (udon, flour, vermicelli, ramen or rice) (B) Stir-fry (choose level of spice) We also tried Jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce w/ pork and onions cooked for a long time to make the sauce a thick consistency) over noodles - A MUST!!! So good! Sushi: sashimi combo and Honey Morning * free miso soup and ice cream for every meal!
This place is so delicious. I've only ordered take out but the curry katsu is BOMB 10/10, best I've ever had. Highly recommend. A bit pricey but totally worth it.
I love the variety of Korean food & sushi options to choose from. All the food my family ordered were all very yummy! I highly recommend the chicken katsu curry & the Korean seafood pancake
my new go to spot for affordable yet high quality sushi! interesting spot that does korean, japanese, and some chinese dishes too they have free miso soup and banchan, as well as ice cream cones at the end i've never been one to be full after one roll, but this place managed to leave me feeling stuffed! the rolls are HUGE with big pieces of fresh fish the salmon maki is hands down the best!! the ahi tower had salmon on the inside and tuna on top??? just madness overall wow the oohlala was flavorful and yummy too. i will bring all of my friends here
Came here a few times before the restaurant overhaul and I'm glad I came back. This place offers a more casual approach where you order at the counter and seat yourself. There's a self-serve noodle bar and a pretty decent menu of rolls and entrees. I wasn't too impressed with the flavor of the rolls, although I will commend them on their large size. I was a big fan of the jjangmyeon. It was saucy, creamy, balanced in flavor, and had generous pieces of meat. If I had to compare it against the handful of other places in Austin that serve it, this one is by far the best. There is also a self-serve sauce station, miso soup, kimchi, and ice cream you can help yourself to.
The food an service is amazing. You are able to customize your own stir fry's and soup with unlimited veggies, which is awesome for a veggie forward person like myself. They also have a free sauce and kimchi bar. Each item was server hot and fresh it was overall such a wonderful food experience!
After loving our dinner and lunch take-out experiences from Odaku (a family-run Korean Japanese fusion place at Parmer & Mopac) for the past year, I finally got the chance to experience dine-in this month and I am still a big fan. My special friend & I celebrated our first date night of 2025 here and everything was great! - Getting a table at 6p on Saturday night was no problem. I could *not* believe there was no wait. This just tells me that too few people know how wonderful the quality of food & service is at Odaku. - Table service was friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and unobtrusive, exactly what I'm looking for on a date night or really any time. - Food was sooo good! Beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients, tasty, well-executed. We had sushi this night, ordering 2 huge rolls (9 pieces each!) and a chef's choice nigiri dinner (9 thick pieces). I typically stick with sashimi, as I am not a fan of overly sauced, mostly rice rolls drowning in mayo, but Odaku kept every component in balance. - Price was reasonable for the high quality of the products, especially compared to our other excellent but overbooked alternative spot across the highway. We had such a great meal and conversation over a shared bottle of junmai. Now that we know Saturday night isn't a hassle (at least at our preferred early dinner hour), we will definitely be back here for future date nights. I'm looking forward to more exploration of the Korean side of the menu, too. I also noticed that the back north section of the restaurant has several traditional floor-seated tables with cooktops for 8 or so people. This looks like a fun option for a large group who want to do Korean BBQ or hot pot.
This unassuming Korean/Japanese spot tucked in the corner of a plaza surprised me with how much they improved the set up and how much bang for your buck you get! I had only been once before awhile back, so I was shocked to see how much the place had changed when I walked in. The space was visibly more open and a more lively brighter atmosphere than before. They also have you order at the counter where I was informed that they have complimentary miso soup, kimchi, and soft serve ice cream! Against my better judgment, I filled myself a bit with the soup and kimchi, then filled myself even more with their kimchi pancake which came with dipping sauce and had the classic chew with slight crispy char. The miso soup was nicely salty, but the kimchi was a little bland and not sour at all, with barely any spice. I was definitely starting to feel full when my main dish arrived, the jjajangmyeon which was accompanied with yellow pickled radish and a small bowl of rice. The jjajangmyeon was a decent portion and already looked and smelled promising, not watery or small like what I typically see in Austin. When I took my first bite, it tasted different from what I'm used to, but not in a bad way! The more I ate, the more I enjoyed. It had a good amount of veggies with the classic julienned cucumbers and some pork. Despite feeling very full, I stomached the courage to walk over to their soft serve machine which offered vanilla, chocolate, and mix swirls. I opted for the vanilla and enjoyed it on one of the provided cake cones. Service was friendly throughout and made sure to bus my plates and bowls fairly quickly, and ensuring I had a to-go box for my leftover kimchi pancake. Parking is usually plentiful since it's in a plaza but can get busy with all the surrounding businesses like restaurants and boba. It's also a stone's throw away from an HEB.
A great spot for sushi and Korean food in Austin, this place offers quick and friendly service. It is clean and well organized, and the food tastes amazing. Highly recommend for the locals and visitors.
The service is great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. You pile what you want into two metal bowls (meat, seafood and veggies) and they stir fry it for you. There's free miso soup and kimchi. Free soft serve ice cream for afterwards. The portions are generous. I'm taking at least half of mine home as is my wife. We might have finished if we had skipped the miso and kimchi.
Order the dack chi don here! You won't be disappointed. It comes with spicy chicken, katsu and mozzarella. The cheese blended with the spicy chicken and katsu was phenomenal! Katsu was so crispy, you can hear the crunch when you bit into it. Very good flavor profile. Also a huge portion! You can share with 2-3 people. Wish I didn't order the beef donburi, although it was good but there were so many other dishes to try. The beef donburi was definitely on the sweeter end. It reminded me of a Japanese hibachi dish. Good service, food came out fairly quick. Inside looked very cute. There were tables lower to the ground where you would have to take your shoes off to dine. You have to make reservation in advance to sit there though.
First time coming after the revamp. The spot feels less intimate/traditional and more trendy. Prices seemed to go up on my favorite lunch bento box while at the same time they removed the tempura from it. They have some sort of noodle bar as their main attraction now. It looked interesting so I might try it next time. While I wasn't rushed, it didn't feel as comfortable as it had been in the past. Also the place was very empty, normally it's packed but I was the only person when I arrived for lunch and only 2 other customers came in during my meal. Service was a little cold, they also forgot a side that I asked for.
We had an amazing lunch experience at Odaku. This is our second visit since they changed the format a few months ago, we chose seafood and meat stir fry option. They are still doing a great job offering a wide variety of fresh vegetables, good quality seafood and meat that you can choose along with 4 types of noodles and 3 sauces. When the stir fry comes out of the kitchen, it is steamy, perfectly cooked and flavorful. You get sumptuous and healthy meal at a good price; great value. We love the new ambience, everything is clean and well organized. Well lit menu is easy to read. Great changes Odaku...congratulations! Service is extremely courteous and efficient. They are happy to explain if you have any questions. Please give it a try to this family run establishment

We went to O'daku for dinner tonight, and our overall experience was: Food 3.5/5, Service: 4/5, Ambiance: 4/5. The location is good and there is a huge parking lot right in front of the store. We ordered spicy tofu soup, galbi tang, and a sushi roll tonight. Galbi tang was pretty good but my favorite was the sushi roll - the Incredible Roll is super yummy , and my lease favorite one was the spicy tofu soup. The broth was quite plain and the soup was not particularly impressive. Next time I'd like to try their pork katsu and big pots. And order some special rolls. It's quite impressive that they have over 30+ different rolls. read more
I went here for dinner after hearing raving reviews about the food. When I went in, I felt as if I was taken into a different part of the world. The interior decor reminded me of what I would see in Asia and I enjoyed the ambiance. My wife ordered a bento box and I opted for ramen with chicken. They brought out my order fairly quickly as it's just noodles, chicken and vegetables. I was wanting chicken with a pork broth, but it turned out to be noodles with a chicken broth. I can't fault them for that as it makes sense... It was good but it felt like glorified chicken noodle soup. My wife's bento box turned out to be a better deal. She ordered katsu over rice, which came with nigiri, vegetable tempura, and miso soup. Portion size was great, as is usually expected of bento boxes. I thought the taste of the food was good. They also brought out small Korean side dishes. Their menu does include both Japanese and Korean entrees so it was nice to see the options available. We ended up paying around $30 for 2 meals + tip. For what we got, I thought it was a great value. We'll likely go back to sample some of their Korean dishes next time. read more
We didn't have a reservation and came around 7pm ish. It was packed, but we got seated within 10 minutes. The ladies serving that day were amazing. I love their energy. I got the tofu jeongol and the sashimi salad. The tofu jeongol is definitely the healthy broth type. It has a mild flavor and perfect for a cold day. Their sashimi was on top of a salad. The fish were fresh and good! Definitely coming back to try new items too. read more
Great food and so much variety! I tried their yukgaejang and it was so hearty and flavorful. Their katsu was also delicious, the breading was crispy and had a tangy savory sauce that cut through the meat well. I tried the Double Alaska roll as well. It was very fresh, I loved the salmon on top. read more

I've been here a couple of times for lunch with and am impressed by the quantity of food given. The first time I ordered the Chicken Katsu and was given enough for two whole meals. The second time I came I ordered the shrimp tempura bento off of their lunch section. Unlike the chicken katsu, the breading was really thick and way too fried for my taste. Their Korean dishes are also excellent, so I would recommend stopping by if you are craving Korean food. But, if you are a vegetarian there aren't many options available. They have a small section of around 5 vegetarian rolls. As for COVID, all of the staff are wearing masks and we were seated in a socially distanced manner. All of their water comes bottled, which I understand is better for sanitation but is disappointing from an environmental standpoint. In addition I think the water is automatically added to your bill. read more
I can't believe this restaurant has been hiding so close to my home. The online menu does not even have a fourth of the options at this restaurant. The sushi rolls were innovative, fresh, and aesthetically appealing. All the flavors in each roll were paired so well and I can't wait to try every roll on their list. read more
THE BEST korean spot in town. This place is a 10/10 for their service but the food is absolutely amazing. The sushi here is really good but the cold noodle is one of my favorite. Absolute burst of flavor and texture, its a must try. The chicken batter is also amazing and although its covered in sauce its not overpowering. The crunchiness is there and the side dishes including the radish go perfect with it. I would 100% recommend this spot!! read more

I ordered takeout for my family of 6, and everyone was impressed with the quality, quantity, and beauty of the dishes. Rolls: We had the typical cucumber, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spider, oolala, and dragon dance. My favorite rolls were the oolala and dragon dance rolls because they had a mixture of veggies and various seafoods. I'm all about giant portions. Their seafood pancake leans on the thicker side. It could be crispier, the way I prefer it. Make sure to ask for their seafood pancake sauce, because it's very important! The tonkastu portions were HUGE and crisped to perfection! The brown sauce went well with it. I loved the rice they gave us because it was the right kind of mushy and had a hint of rice vinegar in it. Excellent with their fried egg. It comes with cabbage salad. The amount of sides they gave us convinced me that I need to do another takeout for 6 again! read more

I've been to this place more than a handful of times for lunch and dinner. For a quick lunch, I grab the Bento Box because it had everything you need. In my opinion it's slightly better than the average bento box because you get Korean Galbi or Bulgogi if you wish and it comes with soup and salad and tempera. Not sure it I've been going to the wrong places but nowadays at least one of those buggers would be missing from a Bento lunch. For dinner, the options are crazy. A lot of people get the Korean Hot Pot for sharing and for those that are young and digestion tract still youthful, there's the Chicken Katsu with marinated chicken, sweet potato fries, Kim Chi, covered in pulling cheese on a hot plate. Definitely made for sharing at least for three people because this thing is massive and we entirely pictured it much smaller. This is your warning because they didn't warn us that we ordered way too much food for two people - Seafood Pancake, Chicken Katsu Cheese Behemoth and Spicy Tofu Soup. The Spicy Tofu, although underrated in all this was the best thing. Fresh Tofu that melts in your mouth. Btw you get all the side dishes and for some reason with all our dishes we only had one small rice bowl. read more

Lunch Review - (3.5) FIRST TAKE - don't you walk in your seated by and hostess fairly quickly as this place isn't extremely busy. Be sure to get here before 2pm because they do close for a restart in order to get dinner ready. They just upgraded the dining area with new tables and chairs which I can definitely appreciate, and every seat in the house is well lit. FEASTING - Overall the food here is on par with most sushi restaurants in Austin. The good thing about this place is the overwhelming selections of sushi rolls and Bento box choices. The food is very fresh, and as you can see in the picture the servings are more than enough. I had the chicken Bulgogi for the first time which in my opinion could've been cooked a little longer, but everything else was just fine. FINAL WORDS - Not a bad place for a quick lunch or dinner, especially if you're in a group of 2 to 3 folks. Pro Tip - if you order a Bento box, be sure to get the dynamite roll to pair with it, it's phenomenal! read more

First of all, Love love love this restaurant. The food is good, and the staff are so nice and friendly, and the price is totally reasonable! You can't go wrong here either Japanese food or Korean food! We always go there, either when we want good food, for a special occasion, or just because! We recently went there for our Anniversary and the staff surprised us with complimentary mochi ice cream with candles, they are so sweet!! Recommend menu:: 1. Shrimp tempura. I know it's basic but it's hard to find a good restaurant that can make a perfect tempura batter and O'daku does it and does it well! Their shrimp tempura is not oily but it's flaky, crispy and the shrimp is fresh! The only thing I would want is to add finely ground daikon in the sauce! 2. Dack chi ton (spicy chicken and katsu with cheese) is bomb!! Bring friends or just your appetite since it's huge. It's cheesy, and spicy! Their katsu is crispy and tender goodness! 3. Their Korean food tastes like homemade food with quality ingredients ; bulgogi, seafood tofu soup, etc. Also, their Kimchi Mandoo Jeongol is so delicious!!! Love all of the banchan or side dishes-everything is so fresh and delicious! 4. Their sashimi:: we always get their sashimi deluxe, the fish quality is good and suitable for the price. It also comes with white fish topped with fried garlic which is one of my favorites!! 5. Sushi boat:: we ordered their biggest boat to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disappoint!! If you haven't checked this place out, you're missing out!!! read more

The food is great - I usually get Korean food here, though. The Korean entrees come with the Korean sides and are fairly authentic. The sushi is mediocre and the service is the same. Half of the employees are super nice and great at their jobs and the other half just kind of stand around not doing much. Pricing is decent and my favorite dish is the curry katsu - ask for the curry separately. Portion is really big and it comes with Korean sides. Although they are located in a plaza, the parking is minimal and the lighting at night is very sketchy. read more

I have had their bento boxes to go for lunch in the past but this was my first time sitting down and ordering a meal here. We were overwhelmingly pleased. My friend got the Agedashi Tofu and Miso Soup. Both were fantastic! She also gushed about the iced tea, which is high praise indeed, coming from her. I ordered the Fiesta Roll, which was as delicious as it was beautiful. I've had the Dak Kang Jung before and it was exactly as I remembered it. I also ordered a Beef Donburi so I would have plenty of food to take home with me. Their portions are large, so I am still eating leftovers a day and a half later. No complaints here about that. The service was gracious and prompt and friendly and I would absolutely eat here again and recommend it to anyone. read more
I'm giving odaku a solid 4 stars. They excel in korean cuisine yet fall short in japanese. I came here to try their hot pot and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the spicy squid udon hot pot, assorted nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. Food: taste was good. You can tell a lot of the seafood in the hot pot wasn't exactly fresh, there was a lingering frozen taste to the shrimp in the broth. The noodles and actually broth was delicious tho. I would order it again. It came with a ton of ban chan which were all delicious. The sushi however was lack luster and pretty poor quality. Overall: excellent korean food, and okay sushi. read more
I've always had a pleasant experience coming to this place. The ambiance gives it a very traditional and intimate feel to it that brings out the authenticity of the restaurant. Overall, the food and the flavor is great. However, I think this is definitely one of those places where you either GO BIG or go home because the more expensive dishes is worth more for your dollar tbh. The cheaper priced items which is still kind of pricey are okay dishes. They're good but pretty standardized across most places. Service and everything is great! The servers were super sweet and extremely attentive. I tried Japanese Soba for the very first time here! Very enjoyable but kind of more on the plain side. My friends got the Spicy Tofu Soup, Japchae, and Beef Bulgogi. We all really enjoyed the dishes. The side dishes were also plentiful and flavorful. read more

Just tried one of their build your own poke bowls, delivered. At first I was pleased you could choose 3 kinds of fish, and happily surprised yellowtail was an option! Delivery was quick, but this aint about door dash, lady. The poke bowl was adequate, I think the price is fair, and there are quite a few free add-ons (cucumber, onions, edamame, and seaweed salad was only $1 extra). My main beefs are that the rice had become soggy, drowning in the sauce, and there were only 3 small pieces of yellowtail to be found. So sad :( What started out promising became a soggy cereal of sickly sweet rice and fish. read more

Had a group of 20 come in for lunch on a Saturday. To any waiter/waitress that would probably make them 1) mad or 2) annoyed. The waitress sat our party at the back traditional style area, made sure we had enough pillows, and room - honestly she was super cute and sweet and polite. The food here was good and priced reasonably and portions big. Usually you only get the banchan with a Korean dish but since we had a big group and everyone ordered Korean or Japanese food she gave us all banchan and refilled them liberally. I got a sushi combo with nigiri and spicy tuna roll which came with salad and soup. I enjoyed my first time here and my friends who recommended it love the stews. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Austin. read more

I couldn't really see the place because of the construction. This was our first time. I had no problem getting a reservation 1hr prior for a party of 7. The combination of Korean and Sushi was a delight. So much to choose from and we chose a lot of food. Well technically I chose most the items because they were unfamiliar. My guests were very satisfied as well as I was. The atmosphere was clean and friendly. A must to try. No doubt that I'm picky what I consume because the key to my heart is through my stomach. read more

Ordered through Lunch Drop to have delivered for my work lunch. As many reviews have read - you cannot beat the lunch deals. I ordered the #5 Spicy Roll Combo which comes with Spicy Tuna Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll, salad and Miso soup. This is a $10.95 lunch. Considering it is Sushi, this price is pretty fair - and the freshness of the Sushi cannot be beat for that price. The rolls are not just 4 pieces each - there was 15 pieces of Sushi in my box - 15! Plus the side salad and the soup. Both the salmon and tuna were perfectly proportioned and as I mentioned earlier - its fresh and of high quality. The Miso soup - well, the flavor was good and the perfect amount of salt but it was just broth with a few pieces of tiny tofu. But for the price of the meal, Id rather have a smaller amount of soup and more of the awesome sushi. The side salad - meh....Just an iceberg mix with some shredded carrots. It came with a dressing that is a bit on the sweet side but not horrible. You can tell they focus on the sushi - which is fine with me. I would definitely order again from here and recommend to everyone for a great place to get some yummy lunch. All in all, I am happy with my order! read more
Awesome! Will definitely be coming back. The food was good, even for to-go. I enjoyed the gyoza and seaweed salad. I also got the Hulk roll... good, but honestly too hot I had to scrape the green sauce and jalapeño off the top since my tongue was on fire. I definitely would like to try this place for dine-in. read more

As far as good Korean restaurants go, Austin is lacking. However, Odaku is amazing. The food is always consistent and traditional in it's form. Hands down the best Korean restaurant all around as far as quality and variety of Korean food, service, ambience, and price. Of course, they have sushi and some other Japanese dishes, but let's be real, this is a Korean restaurant. Amazing dishes you'll find here are their Donkatsu, Galbi, Bulgogi, Yukgaejang (beef stew), Dolsot Bibimbap, Korean pancake, and of course so much more, including their very fresh sushi and many roll variations. Even the bonchon they provide is always fresh, plentiful, and delicious. If you're craving a very solid Korean dish and don't have any Korean friends in town, Odaku awaits you. read more
Love coming to this place! They serve awesome korean food on top of their sushi menu. Honestly, I come here more for the korean food than the sushi. Food: 5 The seasoned korean chicken is to die for. It's the chicken gangjung with the peanuts bits on top! It can be a little more spicy, but definitely satisfies your cravings for korean style chicken! The cheese katsu chicken is a really big and spicy dish that can feed up to 3 people. it's really spicy and has a ton of cheese. so basically very korean-style. I got this one beef broth/stew thing on the menu but something about it just tasted a little off.... but other than that, even the side dishes are dislicious! Service: 5 Very fast, friendly, and accurate. Just as it should be. There are korean workers but also non-korean workers who are very good at english as well. Ambiance: 5 lots of difference seating arrangements. You can be sitting at a regular table, or a larger table where you take off your shoes and sit (japanese style) and there are booths as well. It's not too big, but it's big enough that even though it's filled, you can still hear your party's conversations. read more

Come here for the Korean food (not sure about the sushi). The chicken curry katsu is out-of-this-world! Crisp chicken pieces, comforting curry poured over rice, and GENEROUS portions. Not cheap at $15, which is why I can't give it 5 stars. Perhaps it's a great meal to share? It's so yummy that you won't want to though! My friend's spicy tofu soup was really flavorful and pleasant. The side dishes were good too (most of them can be refilled). The menu has a lot of items to choose from for the picky eater. Thanks for a great meal, Odaku! read more

This Korean-japanese restaurant is good and consistent. The food is good quality for the decent prices, and service is great, with the exception of having to ask for everything (Korean style). Their banchan (side dish) selections are yummy also. The super odaku boat is plentiful with great selections of fish. Very generous fish portions with good quality taste! This place is frequented among the large group of Asians that live in the north area of Austin also, so it's usually crowded- even for a late lunch on a Saturday. A go-to for Asians, as it is well known and consistent! read more
