Wow, what an experience. We had the opportunity to go to nut estate as part of a larger group trip. In my recent travels, we have checked out different luaus and other events on the island. This was the most intimate and thoughtful experience that we have attended. The staff was genuine and extremely nice. The facilities were easy to navigate and didn't seem overly fabricated to create a fake experience. The view was outstanding, jaw, dropping, amazing. We were treated to several demonstrations on how the people lived on the island. My group got to watch an authentic dance and performance. And we end the night with entertainment while enjoying a island buffet. From Kahlúa pork to sticky rice to traditional foods our group got the try so many cultural aspects of the island. One of the best parts of this experience is, they are situated in a state park, so there is no light pollution, noise, pollution, or any other random traffic that can interrupt your experience. Went for the luau and had a blast. Crew was very energetic and a lot of fun. Kept us very entertainened and we learned a lot of local culture. Food was awesome and varied. We just went here for my birthday last night and it was the best time. The staff all had high energy and the welcome feeling and the anticipation to have a great time but also embrace and teach us more of the Hawaiian culture is always so breathtaking and inspiring. I've come here for years.. countless luaus and I just have to say this experience topped it. It's intimate which I loved!!! They're so fun, talented, and just so genuine! The food was amazing.. My daughter ate from the food that was served but I had food restrictions and they were able to accommodate me. The salmon was delicious and my daughter ate til she was about to pop! Thank you for the most amazing time and another one for the books!! Hopefully one day I won't have to call it a vacation and have it my home but until then we always come back for more!! As a scenic venue, its beautiful but when you walk anywhere on the property it's all grassy or gravel trails. Very tough to walk around. Make sure you have flats or boots. Parking is ridiculous, it's very limited and it's mostly street parking. There is no street lights in the evening so use your phone's flashlight. The wedding went really well but that's on the wedding planner. The drive is on Round Top drive which in itself is a spooky place, narrow road very little safety signs , warning signs and lacks street lights. The venue has no BATHROOMS, it's portable potty's and has drop lights inside. The place didn't turns the ground lights that also includes the Potty's until later that evening. There were people struggling to the toilets. If I get invited to the place again? PASS!! Nut ridge please invest in some plumbing. read more

Hands down the luau experience! Nutridge is a beautiful property overlooking Honolulu. The luau here is much smaller and more intimate than many of the other luaus. We were able to have "front row" feel with the shows and dinner. The cousins took great care of us and we were honored to hear about their history and the culture of Hawaii. We went to experience nutridge luau last night and it was amazing. It was not your typical tourist luau. It was very intimate only about 60 people and farm to table. The luau is on David's property in the mountains and the staff spend the time walking you around the property to see the amazing views and learn the history of Hawaii..cousin Kai and all the staff are friendly and so welcoming. I attended a wedding at Nutridge Estate not knowing that this place ever existed!! They are located in a private driveway and once you pull in there are only a handful of stalls right in front of the property. Therefore, for the wedding there was valet service. They had to park the cars all up and along the private driveway. More than enough parking for everyone and there was over 150 people at the wedding. It is only a few steps into the property. To the right there is a small cottage overlooking the city. In front of the cottage there is a cemented area with a beautiful white tent. The property slopes downward and there are so many different trees. I was told that there are macadamia nut trees! To the left they set up a giant tent for the reception and there are restrooms. The property is really large and seems never ending. It was rainy that day so the ground was extra muddy. Expected with Hawaii! The views in general were the dealbreaker! They even have a super cute bench swing on a giant tree overlooking the city!! So beautiful!!! They do not only offer venue rental they also offer tours of their property. Like I said they have macadamia nut trees that were originally there from back in the day! Definitely check it out!! read more

We had the bestest time and absolutely loved the venue, service and everything about our wedding at the Nutridge Estate. Last July 2020, my fiancé and I booked Nutridge Estate with the hopes of starting a new chapter in our lives there. Our wedding was set for May 2021. Since July, we have had no communications and updates from the venue. This January we emailed the venue and our contact, Jeannie to update them on our new COVID-19 ceremony/reception plans. We received no response after multiple follow up emails and left voicemails. My fiancé got in contact with David, the owner and was told to send an email to his personal email. We got no response there. We were forced to send a friend of ours to Nutridge Estate to possibly meet with someone to ask about our situation. She coincidentally met with Jeannie as she was setting up for a luau. Jeannie said she would give us a call "when she got home." We received no call. What got us a response from someone was us sending an email of termination of contract. It took less than 3 hours to get a call. If you were thinking of working with Nutridge Estate and Millwood Ohana Productions, I would greatly reconsider. read more

A lot of the draw to this particular Luau is the location and the beautiful view it affords of the city, the sunset, and the beautiful grounds. So, when it rained, the sunset was not visible, the city barely so, and it was challenging to walk around and appreciate the grounds. It would have been understandable if they cancelled and refunded everyone, but they chose to hold it anyway, which I did appreciate, but I think with poor weather there should be a significant discount, because the experience is significantly less amazing. Furthermore, it kind of felt like, at ~7:30 we were being rushed out of the tent and off the property. They present the luau as being part of a 'family' but being rushed out in that way did not feel like 'ohana' at all. It would have been nice, after the activities, to have 15-30 min to continue to sip drinks, ask questions, enjoy company, before having to leave. All that said, is definitely a more intimate experience than you'll get at other locations, isn't commercialized or a production in the same way. While that's nice, there also can be something impressive about high production value Luau's with larger, more impressive shows. You just have to decide what you're looking for. read more

Oh my goodness. They are amazing here. Rino, David, and all the staff are wonderful and personal. If you want a less commercialized, personal luau this is the place to go. We got to cook our own potatoes in a traditional emmu oven in a traditional Hawaiian way. They taught us about the culture, history, and the people. So many laughs. It felt like they were really Family. We had a traditional Hawaiian meal, and at the end they taught those who wanted to learn how to hula. Rino as well was great. He was on a very personal level and helped me and my boyfriend out. I would come back here again. It was maybe 60 people tops there and it's up in the mountains. This was my first Laulau so I don't have any comparison but this was a great experience. The property is beautiful, set up high in the mountains with a beautiful view of Honolulu and the ocean. All of the staff were very friendly and knew how to loosen up the group. The evening included a total or 43 people, a very personal experience. We learned about the culture, watched hula, fire dancing and played games before dinner. The food was great and plenty to go around for seconds. Would highly recommended. read more

Best lu'au we've ever been too ... it was so unique and so personal in this breathtaking Round Top Drive home estate overlooking Honolulu and Pearl Harbor. Our daughter had a morning wedding followed by an evening reception. We had a wonderful experience. The only word to describe the venue is stunning. The event manager, Chelsea, was easy to work with. She responded to questions quickly, facilitated site visits and was on site to see that things were going smoothly. The other staff were efficient and polite. The tree-lined drive to the estate takes you back in the past and builds anticipation. The grounds are lush and secluded, with an expansive westward view that catches the summer sunset. We wanted a location that was elegant, allowed for casual interaction and had memorable views and Nutridge met the brief perfectly. The biggest advantage was that it is just a few minutes from the Waikiki hotels where guests were staying. read more

Don't be fooled, they might seem nice at first but right when they lock you in with a deposit it's all downhill from there! Half the photos are from my wedding. These people are anything but professional.. Chelsea could barely meet me to take the deposit because she was too hung over! I had to go on a wild goose chase her around round top drive just to find out she was back in mccully..smh Apparently the staff has elaborate parties there during off times. It almost felt like they went out of their way to make things difficult.. doesn't show up to half of our scheduled meetings. Not letting us use the fridge because it's already preoccupied with Nutridge staff alcohol. They literally cut off power to the wedding an hour before hand and blamed it on "technical issues". They penalized us fo going to different vendors not associated with their preferred vendors list, (because they were already booked), so we had to pay an extra $1000 because we needed time to set up. Giving hell from from the caterers to to aggressively pushing their preferred people.. in the end our $500 deposit was forfeited because of a string left tied to a pole?!? Complete crooks Don't be robbed!!! Not worth the stress of these people are out to take ur money and give you a hard time!! read more

This is an amazing place for all your elegant events. The views are stunning and the location high above the busy city makes for a wonderfully calm and peaceful place to be. The history of the house and grounds make you feel like your standing on royal ground. They have certainly done a wonderful job and preserving the iconic treasure.
