Management and pricing and cleanliness. I never write reviews but I wanted to be candid with my…read moreexperience for future brides and grooms to be! So our wedding was a 5/5 experience but management is definitely old school and could use a lot of work. There is no texting, only a landline, and an email to work with. Good luck reaching anyone via email. To have a 6 hour wedding with 50 people, it costs roughly 10k for the space (about average when you factor in lighting, furniture and seating at other venues) but you have to pay for you own prep time. Only an hour is complimentary, so if you want to add any personal touches at all you basically need to pay for that time. Considering you're paying 10k, the fact that one is not allowed to leave decor at the venue is super unreasonable. There was no event going on the day prior except for our own rehearsal. So we were to bring everything we could on our own day of, and beg our wedding planner to help. They claimed it was for "liability purpose" yet I was allowed to leave my dress grossing 2800 at the venue and not my $10 box of flowers... and the lightning that was already hanging cost $750 to allegedly rehang. Who knows why that needed $750. There were claims that there was not enough space to leave any belongings or purchase enough chairs for my guests, but from what I can see it's just badly organized. There's a massive stack of CDs in front of the bridal room coated with so much dust you can barely read the titles. There's all kinds of knick knacks everywhere by the piano. The dust in the bridal room is bore line scary when you look closely, the chandelier had dead flowers and cobwebs. The frames are coated with dust. Again, the wedding itself was beautiful but for 10k you'd think someone could be paid $200 to come in there to clean. I sincerely have no idea what my 10k went towards since the Morgage on the house is non existent according to Zillow. Emails were rarely answered in a timely manner, which is tough if you're a bride organizing almost everything. and their sweet sweet dog who was advertised as a ring bearer apparently only performed this service one time prior and got side tracked and pulled my flower girl into the bushes. I love that kind of silliness and don't blame the dog one bit. But it certainly feels like false advertising to say that this dog is willing to do the service but come day of my planner told me of all the weddings she'd aided there, she's never seen it happen once. We had a great wedding, but it's massively overpriced for how little effort is going in on the home owner's end. A beautiful scam. 3 stars for my guest's wonderful experience but not to my own chaotic one.

I have been here before for my friends wedding and a DLS company party way back when. I forget when though. lol. From the main highway I don't remember having to drive on a very long and winding to get there. But, it's worth it. Plenty parking. Food and dessert was good. Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance is really nice the views, dress up more than casual and very comfortable inside here. If someone else has something here in the future. I will definitely come here again. This place would be great for family parties, birthday parties, baby showers, recreational activities, and even private functions. Today's visit was because of the MAKAHIKI festival which my sons Cornwall and Hula Halal had performed for today. Aside of the activities for the MAKAHIKI festival, the performance was awesome. Being that they did a lot on their own by themselves for the first time they did well. HOWEVER, to hold an event & to utilize these facilities, you must have MILITARY CONNECTIONS. OF COURSE, Public access is available to civilians, but with LIMITED ACCESS to the beachfront & shores ONLY. Civilians are NOT ALLOWED to use or rent the facilities. I asked the CITY & COUNTY and they said this place IS NOT on their list & as far as for the STATE, they said they have no rental information on these facilities. So... that means... it's through MILITARY OFFICIALS ONLY! To be honest, I'm SURE military will say it's because this is "PEARL HARBOR", where their military is located, they have to take precautions to whom has access to the area. WHICH FOR ME, KINDA SUCKS because this place WAS once where my kupunas (older aunts & uncles) used swim & look for oyesters for food & pearls for jewelry/decorations, WAAY before the HARBOR was built for the military and now... a grandniece of theirs, a KANAKA, has LIMITED access to the area. As a civilian... we're FORBIDDEN from using "THEIR FACILITY". Doesn't really seem fair, doesn't it?! But that's the so called RULES. let's hope in due time there is a way to allow civilians the use of this area WITHOUT military connections. Anywho, if you have a chance to rent this spot, GO FOR IT!!!! And be sure to TAKE CARE OF THE PLACE TOO! Just because military has the say over this area, doesn't mean we should destroy or ruin the property itself. It is still OUR AINA! And Regardless if your ARE KANAKA OR NOT, just treat this place as if it was YOUR OWN HOME. And if you MISTREAT it and say that's how you'd treat your own home, then I can only imagine how embarrassed your parents must feel to have raised such a sloppy individual. POOR THING, YOU... SAD... SAD... SAD... BEING. Okie dokes... artichokes! Have a good one and thanks for reading.

This is a dear former colleague of mine where I saved the date. When I formally received the invitation I saw the venue and asked myself "Where is that?" Oahu Veterans Center (OVC) is a conveniently located venue in the Salt Lake area which has 2 large halls to host gatherings. They are adjacent to ample parking where it was super crowded that day but the grounds were marked to facilitate overflow of cars for those who arrived later. It was my first time here at OVC where I found the venue spacious, clean and the grounds well kept. I initially went to the wrong party as I didn't know there are several halls here. While standing in line I realized it was for a high school graduation party which clearly wasn't the event I was invited to. I made my way to the other hall where I saw a large banner with my friend's name. There's a kitchen that's adjoining to the hall. Food that evening was catered by Guieb Cafe. Our meal was buffet style where the kitchen sure came in handy with food being replenished periodically throughout the event. It was warm outside that day but the venue has decent air conditioning where we sat down in comfort throughout the event during dinner, slide show and hula performances. Overall, a great first time at OVC where I'd be game for a return visit. This is definitely a venue I'd consider if I wanted to host an event.

Foster Point Peninsula on Hickam AFB is the absolute worst place for a picnic lunch! Please don't…read morego there. It is so ugly! It is surrounded on three sides by pristine azure waters... YUCK! You can see the skyline of Honolulu and the silhouette of Diamond Head... so horrific! Nearby sail boats gently rock to small waves on the aforementioned pristine azure waters... you do not want to see this! There is no comfortable place to sit and eat. There are only maybe a dozen clean tables from which to choose: some in the shade, some in the sun, and some are under a pavilion to use in the unlikely event it rains during your picnic... Don't take the chance! Today during lunch (well, for the first few minutes) I had to share the peninsula with one other picnicker. Sure he was like 40 yards away, but you shouldn't have to put up with this! And the wind! Today it was so blustery that it threatened to blow my napkin off the table... not once, but TWICE! Oh and it is so noisy... did I mention the sail boats and the waves? Well, they're not silent, ya know! They make this monotonous "lap-lap-lap" sound that might drive you crazy! And you'd be dining only a couple miles from the airport. So as you watch the lumbering jets lift off gracefully into the sky, you can actually hear them. .. It's horrendous! It so far out of the way! It takes minutes and minutes (maybe as many as five) to drive out there from the base proper.... Don't waste your valuable time! So in short, take my advice: Do not put up with ugliness, then uncomfortable conditions, the noisiness, and the long long ride out to Foster Point Peninsula for a picnic lunch! It's just not worth it. But if you do, you'll likely see me there enjoying my picnic lunch; and if you do, feel free to wave. But try to keep your 40 yards separation! ;-)
