Plenty of flat area for large events!

Spectacular! The views, the accommodations and setting are literally picture perfect. The wedding we attended on a Saturday afternoon provided us great weather with partial clouds. When the sun came out, a huge beautiful banyan tree replete with a solid swing provided an immense amount of shade. The landscape is filled with so many beautiful local plants, trees and flowers that it's hard not to take too many pictures! Multi levels, with a huge flat area for event tents with a dance floor, if needed. The views of Olomana are exquisite, and the sunset was perfect as it was nestled in this beautiful Waimanalo Valley, tucked up against the backdrop of the cool, green majestic Ko'olau Mountains. Add in plenty of space for service up by the main house, water and electric available everywhere needed and small structures providing opportunities to rest (and restroom!). All in all, a venue worthy of any major event!

Unfortunately, the conditions of the cottages weren't accurately depicted in the website photos. Neglected upkeep, noticeably inadequate cleaning, insects crawling on the floors, and unprofessional interactions with the management team. There aren't many options on this side of Oahu, but I don't recommend staying here. We were expecting rustic, but this property fell short on the following for us. 1. Grungy bathroom with only a retrofit micro shower. 2. Smoke detector missing from one of the bedroom ceilings. 3. Greasy substance on kitchen counter and cabinet doors. 4. Debris on top of the backrest of the well-worn couch. 5. Dirty windows and worn out screens. 6. Gross trash on the sidewalk at the stairs up to cottage 11. 7. Lots of rust and dry rot that require exterior repairs. 8. Flock of about 150 pigeons roosting and defecating on the roofs and power lines at the property entrance and parking area. 9. Worn out bedding blanket. 10. Window blinds in disrepair. We tolerated all of this without complaint. However, we did ask the person at the onsite office, Jennifer, to ask the guests staying in the unit above ours to please respect the stated quiet hours, especially when their young children would wake up and loudly begin their day before 6:00 AM. She said she'd have Tommy address this with them that afternoon. No change that night, and we checked the onsite office multiple times the next day but it was always locked. After another two nights of disrupted sleep for all four of us without follow up from management, we decided to cut our losses and leave a day early. Since the office was still unstaffed, we called the offsite management office. At that point, things went from bad to worse when they were extremely rude to us. They kept saying that we did not give them an opportunity to address the issues when we had done exactly that in person a few days before. But in their minds, since we had not called the emergency phone number, our other efforts did not count. Carolyn Rose's apology to us consisted of, "I'm sorry you were confused about how to contact us about the situation."

Plenty of space to spread out for the 12 of us, while the upstairs, front unit (11?) was big enough for us all to eat and hangout together. The "courtyard" also worked well for gatherings and Carolyn pulled out some folding tables for us. Each unit has kitchen and living areas for privacy, but we felt all together in a mansion. The area and shops etc was fine, we felt like locals. The beach is incredible, and the walk down in literally 2 min. You take your coffee cup down there, and there might have been 2 people and 6 miles of beach. Water safe and warm and clean and amazing. Local park right next to us was pleasant and not a disturbance. We where there new years on 2024, and had the time of our lives

However, I just decided to see what they had for lunch. There's a bar and a meal place in the back of turtle Cove. Turtle Cove is where you check in for the lodging, and then they also have shops and that type of thing. I wanted to see if the bar could make me a virgin Mai Tai, but they didn't open for another two hours. She said that they open at 3 PM. I'm not sure if that's every day of the week.... So instead, I went over to the snack bar, and I ordered a spam musubi, and an açai bowl. What a combination, eh? The spam musubi was very large, and it was delicious! The rice was tender, and the SPAM was done just right. It took a little bit longer to get my açai bowl, as they are made to order! When I did, I took it out back so I could eat overlooking the ocean. What a beautiful view, just so absolutely peaceful. This is just such an amazing place. The açai bowl was amazing. They were very generous with the toppings, the granola underneath the fruit was very good, and the açai itself was very slightly frozen, it melted perfectly as I went through the meal. Just a total home run. Bellows is a wonderful place for military recreation, let's hope it stays that way. Thank you for being there.

This one in particular is on 41-038 Ehukai Street, Waimanalo. The pictures provided on the website did not match even remotely with the room that we booked. We must say that the floors in the rental were clean but the beds looked very tired and old, and above all very dirty. The beds were so old that they were concave in the middle and the comforters were old and very dirty. We could see the dirt and grimy sweat spots on the comforters, which was disconcerting enough to prevent us from further inspecting the beds for bed bugs. We cannot confirm yes or no if the beds do have bed bugs but based on the filthy state they are in, chances are likely they do. Let's move to the bathroom. There were two hand towels provided. One looked like it had been recently used to clean up a greasy mess. The other was a very old towel that would look dirty no matter how many times it was washed. We found three hairs inside of the very old hand towel (eeeww). Let's move on to the kitchen. The kitchen is not in the rental unit but is shared with all other guests in the house (5 rooms to the best of our knowlege). The kitchen looked clean enough but did not look anything like what is portrayed in the picture on the website. Renters beware before renting any rooms here without asking for recent photos of the beds, comforters, bathrooms, towels, and the kitchen. Maybe even go the extra mile and have them confirm that there are no bed bugs or at least get treated and provide documentation. Call us picky but who wants to spend a percentage of their time planning a Hawaii vacation trying to get confirmation from the property manager that there are no bed bugs?

We did not get to talk, or communicate with the hostess at all. which is not a bad or a good thing. five star for location one star for the condition of the room. There was towels, enough napkins no waters or filter and the kitchen tool was so outdated like 50 years old, also carpets, beds etc. I honestly did not want to leave a review on yelp.cuz i did on Airbnb, but Yelp keep bringing up this place to review, and I did not appreciate the response on rbnb . I am not shaming the hostess, because she took care of every detail, except of the cleaning which is very important to me
