If you are a diner affeciando, this is the place to NOT to GO. Recently went with some friends for breakfast. Managers or owners very unfriendly. Inside decor is pretty much what a NJ diner is. Our waitress was nice and accomodating, the only reason for 2 stars. Food however left A LOT to be desired. How difficult is it to make eggs, pancakes etc? None of the foods we ordered were cooked properly. I asked for crispy Bacon & Eggs over easy & rye toast. I received 2 soggy almost raw pcs of bacon. Eggs were overcooked and hard. Only the toast came out properly. My friends ordered pancakes and taylor ham. Ham was cooked ok, but pancakes were RAW in the middle so they sent them back. Instead of making new ones, they just threw the originals back on the griddle. WTF? Overall this was not an enjoyable experience. If you can't do breakfast right, what makes you think I'd come for lunch or dinner? Aside from the fact that their lunch and dinner menus are way overpriced. I can find at least 5 or more diners within a 2-5 mile radius which will undercut what they charge. Don't waste your time or money here. Lastly, don't expect to see any management come by to see if things are okay, they're too busy on their I-Phones. read more

Nutley Diner Doen't support the "GAY" comunity Me my girlfriend and my friends went to The Nutley Diner after a nice night out. We all went Thursday the 16th of April. We received a table in the middle of the diner. We were waiting to order our food. My friend kissed his boyfriend and while he was kissing him an employee from the diner said in a mean and rude voice "don't do that here it's a public place no one wants to see that." He was so offended and hurt that He didn't feel comfortable spending his money in a diner that is going to discriminate against him because he's gay. My other gay friends confronted the employee and asked if it was two girls kissing would he had said anything? He replied "I would have loved it." One of the other staff members made a comment under his breath calling us " faggots." After that was said the altercation was brought outside where it started to become physical the staff and friends of the staff were screaming and trying to fight us calling us "faggots" and "no one wants us around here." I am a straight guy and I was hurt by the way we were treated and I hope everyone that reads this boycotts this place for this discrimination. read more

Worked here for about a few weeks. Owners are tired and miserable. should've known when the lady interviewed me and looked bored out of her mind. They are nasty to their employees then as soon as customer comes they can easily turn their face to a huge smile. very fake and unauthentic. unprofessional and not humane. had to quit for my mental health. i loved the job, i love diners and diner food and everyone loved me. i'm very bubbly and smiling. but they sucked the good out of me quick. if you've known them for a good amount of years then good for you they probably treat you good. but for new people very fake. i know other co workers that quit as well and felt unappreciated. food is nice tho. depends on where you want to spend your money at. i heard that things were better before but when you work at a place and hate it you turn into a miserable person. these owners are exactly that! and don't reply back to this message neither. nothing you say can change my experience and others. hope everyone can make their own judgement ! read more

As far as the food goes, this place is excellent. However, the staff (and I'm talking about the ownership mostly) is extremely rude and condescending and gives off bad vibes. One of the managers (could be an owner, not sure) named Mohammed constantly acts shady towards my friends and I when we go there. I've also witnessed this man berating the female staff on numerous occasions in a fashion I find extremely inappropriate. Bottom line: don't spend your money here. There are plenty of excellent diners in the area like Tick Tock and Nevada where the ownership is not miserable and doesn't publicly mistreat their employees. Although this diner is right around the corner from my house and I've had some of my best memories there growing up, I won't spend another dollar here. My boyfriend and I wanted to try something new since we like to eat.I heard Nutley Diner was good so we took the drive from East Orange over thinking it was worth it..We ordered wings they were okay not the best we've had but they were okay nonetheless so we moved on my boyfriend ordered the Super Cheeseburger and I ordered the philly burger both lacked seasoning and both were horrible my boyfriend took one bite and left the rest of the plate I was pissed that I spent $46.12 on that crap...Only thing that was good was the sodas and the waitress was nice but won't be back read more

I've been a loyal customer of this place for a decade, but recently I couldn't help but notice the sudden increase in prices for basic items like bread. I mean, who would pay $21 for a chicken sandwich with an upcharge on the bread type? It's absurd. It's not just the prices that have gone up; the food quality has also taken a nosedive. I'm not sure I can recommend this place anymore. I suggest you stay away from here if you're looking for reasonably priced, quality food. read more

This has been my go-to for a while now for a quick bite. Lots of reviews on here rip on the decor which is truthfully unimpressive, but the food is excellent and the portions are abundant. The wait staff is friendly, efficient, and skilled. Plus it's home to the best burger I've found in Bergen County to date. Take-out orders are always ready by the time I get there to pick it up. Not bad, but I don't see myself returning.
