Avoid Dr. Melissa L Yip! First the receptionist told me I could use my own frames and their lenses after getting an eye exam. Guess what? They said I couldn't do that after getting my eye exam. Mel was super rude during the eye exam. She kept yelling, "don't squint, relax!" during the whole exam - it was intimidating. You feel like you're being pressure to pay off the balance or the repo guy will take your car away. She was too quick when asking you which lenses are better. If you ask her what she is doing, she will just say that's how she does things and won't explain anything to you. As a consumer, you're entitled to know what she is doing when it's not complicated. When she is talking, and you look at her, she will tell you to look at the chart you're holding instead of looking at her. That is downright rude. The receptionists weren't helpful at all. They care more about what they're gonna have for lunch than helping you. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOXIC SNAKEHOLE. read more

Really great service especially from Sam. I didn't get my contacts in time due to a mix up with the vendor and Nu Eyes immediately mailed me extra pairs of lenses in addition to two day shipping from the vendor. They even offered to drop it off in my mailbox in case I needed it right away. A week later, Sam called to make sure that I got everything. Very disappointed. I switched jobs and my new insurance is not accepted by Nu eyes. I was a customer there for 3 years until today. When they told me they don't accept my insurance, it was like I was no longer important and the salesman stopped paying attention to me. He should've been more caring and said well you know an exam costs this and we do have a great selection of frames etc etc. But no. Even the older woman (owner I think)is still unfriendly after all these years. I only went there for the nice young girl salesgirls and dr yip. Oh well. Buh bye Nu eyes. People work here are very professional, and they gave us a very good service. They charged us a reasonable price for eye exam and glasses +frame. After knowing my mom's insurance is in the process of applying, they offerrd us a discount, which we appreciated. read more

never give a place 5 star, but Nu Eyes. they have a very good customer service, they are very friendly and welcome you. make you feel like you were talking to your friends. they let you try any kind / style of glasses and won't give you any attitude , even try to help you find the one you like. explain everything very well, and answer all the questions, no hiding. After looking thru yelp and other site, I found this NU Eyes place has a good review so I give it a try, but it turned out very disappointed. Without insurance this place is a ripped off, I would not recommend to any one. Even with insurance I have to pay 350$ out of pocket, for an unknown brand of frame and a high index lens. They charge high index lenses for $300. Without insurance I would have to pay $600 for my glasses. Yes the staff sound very friendly but not professional. The doctor did not even tell me her name, she looks young and sound like she knows thing, but I think she just graduated. This place just open not too long ago. The staff here are very unprofessional, the way they do thing you can tell that they are not willing to work here. read more

I was up for a new pair of glasses and of course I went back to my favorite spot. However I was disappointed that I couldn't pick out anything from their selection this time around. I wish their selection was better. The service is kind of hit or miss, depending on who you get. Some of them are really nice, and others not as much. I could tell they were getting annoyed with me, then again I am super picky and indecisive so I can't even blame them lol. It also took a lot of back and forth to get them to forward my prescription over to this other place. That being said, they were very accommodating when I changed my mind about a pair of glasses I had chosen the day before and gave me a full refund no questions asked. Prices are also a little higher than what I remember ($450~ for glasses AFTER insurance?? Le sigh...). I visited Nu Eyes, and was told that I have to wait for another week to be eligible for prescription glasses covered under my insurance plan. Ok. No problem. One week later I decided to go to another optician to get the prescription glasses. You know what? Nu Eyes "locked" my coverage at the insurance providers' website, so that the other optician could not register my order at the website. (I guess, Nu Eyes was trying to force me to use their services). I called Nu Eyes. They denied any wrongdoings and wanted me to go to their store "to get things settled". I have to spend another 15 minutes to call the insurance provide to "unlock" my coverage. These people are bandits. read more

Sam was very nice and patient. He is also pretty good looking, he took the time to explain everything from insurance to lens to coating. he did not try to pressure us with any type of sales. We actually shopped around a bit and found that Sam was the most professional and courteous. Look for him if you are visiting this place!!!!! read more

Super happy with my new pair of tom ford glasses! Dr. Yip was really great and patient with me especially since my prescription is very high. After she refracted me and let me wear a pair of trial frames with my prescription Vicky helped me pick out my new frames. She was very patient and recommended the perfect circular frame for a high prescription. I picked up my glasses in just a few days and the lenses were cut and coated really well. Friendly and helpful staff. Needed new eyeglasses for my dmv vision test the same day I visited their clinic and thankfully they were able to give me one. After reading all the great reviews on here, my husband and I decided to give it a try. They were really awesome. My husband needed new glasses and after he explained what he didn't like about his current pair, the girl instantly had several pairs out on the counter for him to try, all of which were very appropriate styles for him. While he got his eyes examined she told me that while I didn't need glasses or contacts that my insurance would allow for a pair of sunglasses. She, very patiently, helped me narrow my options down to 2 pairs. While going back and forth between the 2 pairs another girl that works there came over and told me to try both on for her and told me which she liked. They even offered to bring someone else over to offer their opinion, but I was sold. The Dr. was really nice, efficient and pretty funny! Everyone was super helpful and they didn't try to sell us anything more than we needed or wanted. Definitely recommend to everyone. read more

I have a big, wide face. When I visited Sunglass Hut a few days ago, the staff had to give up on me because they didn't carry any glasses that can fit me. I tried couple of other stores and got nothing much until I ended up at Nu Eyes. This store carries a wide variety of products, including some frames that were especially made for people with wide face. I was very glad that I visited this store. Vicky was exceptionally helpful and friendly to me when explaining about my insurance coverage and choosing frames. I highly recommend this store. read more

If your child ever needs to get an eye exam or glasses, I highly recommend go to Nu Eyes. I was a little nervous when I needed to take my daughter to get her eyes examine. I asked around and did some research, and made an appointment with the optometrist in Nu eyes. The staff was very friendly. The optometrist was extremely caring and personable. She made my daughter feel very comfortable. We had a very pleasant experience with the eye exam. The optometrist even gives some pretty stickers for my daughter to keep! =) read more
