I now suspect all the positive reviews are friends or somehow related to the biz owners. Trying to keep the review short and to the point: I paid $120 but they gave me the wrong prescription that were way too strong for me and even looked so much thicker than my old glass lenses. I voiced my concern but they adamantly claimed it was correct. I'm not a person to complain so I just paid and left but I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. I ended up taking my glasses back because it was unbearably too strong and my friends and family that wear glasses even said something is not right for them to be too strong and way thicker than my old glasses. The man and woman at the store claimed it was correct but if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay extra $70. I asked them to fix it because I rather spend $190 for correct prescriptions rather than waste $120 + spend more to get it fixed at another place. I ended up paying just $30 more because the new lenses they were planning on using for my fix that they quoted me $70 more for wasn't in stock. Wtf? So they just use whatever they have in stock even if it's not the right prescription for the customer? This explains why I needed it redone in the first place. The worst part is the "fix" was still way too strong for me to the point I can't wear it for more than 10 seconds without feeling my eyes are going to pop out the socket, probably because they used to wrong prescription again! I can guess it's because they didn't want to special order the correct prescription for me but still wanted my money so used the closest to my prescription they had in stock. I went to another place that fixed it for me and confirmed I was deceived and got ripped off. I decided to take the $150 loss since I wanted to save my mental health rather than argue with these terrible, dishonest biz owners since they're just going to deny it and tell me I don't know anything about glasses (that's what they said when I called them out, but I've been wearing glasses my whole life and never had a problem until I came here). There are frames on display, easily reachable and mirrors everywhere to see how they fit. The staff has separate work stations, it allows for privacy and a chance to go over your insurance coverage and plan options if selecting eyewear. My daughter's appointment was handled by an assigned staffer and she was very helpful in showing us new frames. She immediately grabbed a handful of frames that fit her face and was extra selective on color choices after hearing my daughter's preferences. We tried plenty and took our time. She never rushed us to make a decision and we were never pressured to buy anything. When it came down to two frames, one didn't sit right on her ears, the staffer requested the frame technician to adjust them for us. This way we could make a real decision based on comfort and fit. All in all a pleasant experience. As usual! (This is our fourth year coming to this location). A quick review of the Optometrist on site: Dr. Cho is very patient and speaks to my child at a level she understands. He is very thorough and never rushes through the charts and overall exam process. He is personable and talks through each step so the child is comfortable with each apparatus. He asks questions related to the wearer and always checks if the eye wear is worn properly. I highly recommend Dr. Cho for the entire family. We've been going to him for the last four years for each of our care.

I was distressed when I returned to the Park Slope store in January 2023 only to find it had closed. I tried to locate someone from the store but failed to locate anyone. My eyeglasses had shattered internally, and the visible cracks on both lenses were long and distracting. I'd never had a pair do this. I had always been treated with great customer care, and I now felt abandoned! I almost called the Better Business Bureau, but held off as I like to give the benefit of the doubt. Another local optometrist thought the lenses were plastic and not polycarbonate. That was impossible I thought! Needless to say, as I was about to spend another several hundred dollars at a new store, a new associate recognized me and told me Sam had to close due to higher rents! I never found their goodbye email! Well, Sam and I reconnected! He drove from Queens to my home in the Slope. He took my glasses personally to the Lab, replaced the lenses for free--I was just shy of the warranty--and hand-delivered them before he left on a month-long vacation with his family in Asia!!!
