Dr. Xia is great. They get pretty busy on Saturdays (which is when I went for my exam) even though I made an appointment but I was seen within 20 mins of my Appt time. They take walk-ins, which is great for the locals in the Flushing community. The pricing on the eye exam and contact lens exam is very competitive. I chose to come to him because the optometrists in midtown near me are all 2x 3x the price, and Dr. Xia is around the same price as my hometown in PA. (I have VSP eye insurance, but I still think the price for out of pocket is similar if not the same.) If you call, the folks on the phone are quite helpful. And I had a question (on New Years Eve!) about the way my exam was run through my insurance, and Dr. Xia himself called me the next day to answer my question. Very top service. I can't speak to the service and product around getting contacts or glasses in this shop, but the exam and physician service is very good value for money. I've already recommended him to a friend who is going there. read more

Everything went smoothly on a weekend without any appointment. Got a replacement glasses and ordered a new pair coming by Wednesday. The Doctor is also easy to talk to. read more

Customer service is horrific. The glasses purchased had a rose color added and look how it didn't stay! We offered to pay for a new lens and did not ask them to replace it but they were YELLING and so unprofessional to my 80 year old parents. Stay far away! As they do not stand behind their products. read more

I bought a pair of Gucci frames for over $400, and in less than a month the color already started fading. I honestly wonder if they sold me a fake. When I went back to ask, the woman at the front desk was so rude and unreasonable--I couldn't even understand half of what she was saying. Terrible service and such a scary experience. I thought it was just me, but then I saw Grace's review and other revies and realized she and others had the same bad experience too. Stay away from this shop! read more

Changed jobs, changed insurance, so decided to try a new optometrist too :) esp.when they were accomdating enough to take walk-ins as long as I showed up 30 minutes before their closing time. No appointment! Their business hours are accomdating to most 9-5 jobs. And having an unexpectedly awesome doctor was just a very big pleasant surprise ! I've been coming to flushing...Like forever....Like most Asians lol and I always thought this was just another store for glasses, didn't even know they had an optometrist that would take insurance and etc... So was surprised when I found them through the online directory search for doctors. Dr. Xia has great bedside manners, unlike most doctors with a superiority complex, that sees and treats you like a number... He was patient, knowledgeable, and frankly very detailed in his process, didn't rush things so he can get to the next person asap.... The staff is very warm, friendly, and just welcoming. The guy who helped me pick out frames was patient, cause I looked and tried on like eight frames...And some back.and forth took place.....He didn't cringe his face once lol And I took someone with me to fill his prescription for a new pair of glasses, but this was assisted by Dr. Xia himself...That was another pleasant surprise... Very personable. Above was my experience during the first visit... And today we returned to pick up our glasses... I'm not used to wearing glasses yet, so feels blurry still. But it came with a very sturdy case and a lens wiper. And for the second pair, we were expecting the thickness of my grandma's hand held magnify glass per lens....However that wasn't the case at all! Dr. Xia went the extra mile, filled out extra paperwork, just so the lens would be cut thin, as preferred. We love this place! Thank you! P.S. - Yang is a very popular Chinese last name... so most of us just assumed that's the doctor's last name - it's actually Xia, Yang.... so it's Dr. Xia (FYI !) read more

Precision Eye Care - Current Business card! - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Flushing, New York

Got my lens and frame from here recently. Very friendly people and professional service. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

There are some places that are anchors of expertise and service. I have been a loyal customer here and I have never experienced this kind of above and beyond care as well as clear instructions for the condition and care for your vision. They are patient and it is clear they are not in the business to lure you into expensive frames or unnecessary vision options. They care for you as a patient first and a customer second. The also do such a thorough fitting for your glasses and I love they are patient and attentive. I think their business is their namesake: Precision and Care. I didn't know there could be a business that is so personable and professional. You won't regret coming here. read more

Dr. Xia is a very informative doctor- he explains everything he is doing. I've never seen him do extra procedures just to make money. I went with my dad and he explained very clearly everything to my dad in a way that was appropriate for his age. I am very impressed with his work and we're definitely coming back again! read more

They should change their name from Precision Eye to Bad Precision Eye Care. I went in for a new pair of reading glasses. They offered me a sunglasses frame to fit my subscription. I later found out from another optical place, you should never use sunglasses frame for reading. I know why they are careless cuz the sunglasses frame costs much more. So very dishonest!!! read more

Great place and a nice office. The doctor is nice and I went there on Tuesday to get my glasses fixed and to get a check up. Dr. Xia wasn't there on Tuesday only his dad was there. I got checked by Dr. Chen Who was a friend of Dr. Xia. Now it get a little busy. Nice friendly staff and it is a family owned business. Thank you to Dr Yang Xia's dad to fix my new glasses. Make sure to double check if they take your Medicaid or Medicare card. I would recommend going there if you are in the area of Flushing. Dr Xia is nice and his dad is nice too because my dad knows them before. read more

I know Dr. Xia for years. He is professional and competent at his work. When I do my annual, he always spends time examining my eyes and explains all his finding to me. The store itself is very clean and the staffs are very friendly and patient. Highly recommend. read more

Dr. Xia helped me get my CRT night contacts at Precision Eye Care. I've been using them for at least 4 years. Dr. Xia has helped me all these years, during monthly check ups or whenever I have any issues with my contacts. I've lost them a couple of times, but Dr. Xia has helped me swiftly replace them each time. He's very friendly and always converses with me. I definitely recommend checking out Precision Eye Car for night contacts or any eye care related concerns! read more

Dr. Xia is a good doctor indeed for checking up eyes. BUT if you think abt getting a pair of prescribed glasses over there, please THINK TWICE if you have a very strong prescription. 1)The lenses are made in-store. However, they are not that adept in making strong prescribed lenses(High Index Lens), because it requires higher precision in making them, as any minuscule deviation would cause blurry-ness, esp. when viewing through side of the lens. Unfortunately, this is what I had and only found out abt it later. 2)The store salesperson is pushing for sales. I had a mid-age guy helping me picking the frame. And he only showed me the expensive frames and not an expert in judging which frame would fit you the best basing on how strong ur prescription are. How do I know? Later on, as I cant stand the side-blurryness of my new glasses anymore, I decided to go to BJ's to get an another pair(new frame + new lenses) for less than HALF the price I paid there. Finally, I can see clearly now. Another reason why I went to BJ's, because I find out they have a 30-day no-hassle return policy, which provides safety net for me in case I had a problem again. Luckily, I am all good now. *As a side note, Lenscrafter and any other optical retail shops that are operated under Luxottica(you can wikipedia) are very expensive too, albeit they have good return policy. But as a consumer, especially the ones with very strong prescription and tight budget, I would recommend them to go to stores like BJ's(low price + return policy). I just wish I've done this much research beforehand.. read more

Friendly & helpful staffs in the front, and especially Dr. Chan who waited for me even passed the closing time, much appreciated. Both my adult daughters comes here for the eye examination and prescriptions for their contact lens. Also thanks to Dr. Yang who also went out of his way to arrange for my appointment. I highly recommend Precision Eye Care. read more

Dr. Xia is THE ONLY optometrist I recommend to anyone and everyone! Not only did he get my reading glasses perfect, but he helped correct a huge problem with my mother's glasses that were made by another optometrist in Bayside. My mother has had very bad eyesight since childhood and always had trouble finding the right pair of glasses. Now, she drives at night and plays the piano for church as well. She has gone from one optometrist to the next throughout Flushing, Bayside, and even Long Island. At the time, she had just gotten new glasses at a place in Bayside, but she was still having trouble reading. They adjusted the prescription, but it was even worse. The optometrist said that it was because she had early signs of glaucoma and that's why everything was still blurry. She was so depressed and even teared up several times at home, worrying that she may have to give up the joy of playing the piano sooner than expected. I convinced her to get a 2nd opinion from Dr. Xia, because of my personal experience. He has all the latest gadgets to test various aspects of your eyes, and he is extremely meticulous when reading the scans. I've seen him provide genuine care/attention to each & every patient there, so I knew my mother would feel comfortable. Long story short, Dr. Xia found that the other optometrist in Bayside was WAY OFF in the near-sighted part of the lens, which was why my mother could barely see/read anything (i.e. traffic signs, music sheets, books, etc). Dr. Xia went the EXTRA MILE to double check everything & even had my mother walk around with the newly prescribed lenses. I had not seen her this happy in a loooong time! He even called the other optometrist and kindly explained the situation of the erroneous prescription. Thanks to Dr. Xia, the other optometrist and the store manager personally apologized to my mother and fixed her glasses right away with NO CHARGE. After seeing how professional Dr. Xia was even to his fellow colleagues in the same field, my mother & I had even more respect for him. My mom is now a NEW PATIENT of Dr. Xia. We both are willing to commute to the busy streets of Flushing, whether via car or LIRR, to get our checkups & new glasses. If you are looking for a LEGIT optometrist, GO TO DR. XIA! :) P.S. If you are unsure which style of glasses would suit you best, the staff at Precision are amazing and incredibly patient. Not only did they help me find the exact style I had wanted, they even helped me pick out the one that looked best with my face shape & other facial features. read more

I scheduled an appointment. It was easy and quick. The staff are very nice and they really do try to help if you have any questions.

Dr Xia went above and beyond for me. I've hated glasses since I was a kid, been wearing them since I was around 5... They've always been VERY thick, so 7 years ago I went and got LASIK just to be rid of the damned things. Lo and behold, my eyesight degraded and I needed a new pair... Went here at the suggestion of a special someone, didn't regret it in the slightest. Dr Xia got my glasses the thinnest they could be, which is astounding considering my very high astigmatism makes it so that my lenses were always thick. They sort of still are, but not as bad as they used to be. He didn't have to, but he did. A very well mannered, like perhaps the nicest doctor I've met that didn't make me feel like he just wanted to get the job over with, quite polite, and funny. Highly recommend him, and I rarely recommend anything. read more

I also come here to get my complete eye exams beside the basic prescription glasses. Highly recommend! read more

Like many others have said, Dr. Yang gets top marks in professionalism, attentiveness, precision/thoroughness, and patience. He demonstrates integrity in his work, takes pride in his craft, and clearly strives for patient-centered care. (Also, this may be obvious given that his office is in Flushing, but he is fully bilingual in English and Chinese.) Can't recommend him enough. Unfortunately for me, I'm moving out of town, but for all you locals -- this is the kind of doctor you keep for life! read more

I love this place. Everyone is friendly and efficient. The optometrist especially is very good. He is very attentive to your needs. I went to get my a pair of glasses and went back to get some contact lenses. He knew just what kind of contact lenses I needed. He also wanted to make sure I felt comfortable in them so he gave me several pairs to try over the weekend. They waited until I called to give them the go ahead to order them. Who does that? I liked them so much that I had my mom go get her glasses from there as well. read more

I was doing some comparison price shopping for eyeglasses in Flushing. There are over 10 eyeglass places by Main St and the prices vary. I found a pair of Prada lenses at another store, but they did not take my insurance so I stopped by Precision eye wear with the model number. They didn't have the lenses so I asked them if they could order the lenses. The woman at the counter said that if they were to place the order they would cost $260 which is $20 above the manufacturers suggested retail. I told them the other store had the same pair for $200 at the other stores in Flushing (they don't take my insurance. The woman pointed me out the door and said you can go over there! Very rude and over priced. I will not be spending my money here! read more

As others have already mentioned, Dr. Yang is by far the best in the business. Not only is he attentive and thorough, he is just a kind man overall and provides a cordial atmosphere for his patients. I needed a pair of prescription sunglasses and was greeted warmly by their staff and didn't feel rushed, and felt the staff genuinely wanted to find the right pair of frames for me. Full marks for their up to date styles, pricing range, and customer service (they make the lenses in store.) However, what stood out most for me was how detailed my eye examination was by Dr. Yang. I've had a few examinations by different optometrists in the past few years, but I've never had one so thorough. I say this because, while I just had mine done a few months ago, through a few extra adjustments, Dr. Yang actually modified my prescription to give me even more clarity (and my eyes aren't that bad to begin with.) Would highly recommend and will be coming back here again! read more

A little skeptical about this place. Got new glass lenses and they were pretty good. However the doc told me to come back next time to check on a eye problem he thinks I might have. I asked why cant it be done today since I'm already here? He told me due to insurance fraud issues he can only provide one service per patient . I've been going to eye doctors for over 20 years now and I've never heard of this. He didn't provide me the dilating eye drops when I first went in to get my eye prescriptions. He only told me to do it the second time when I went back to pick up the glasses. Which is odd cause my old doctors always gives me the dilated eye drops the same day as my prescription check up. read more

Precision Eye Care on Roosevelt Ave. is the best optometry place I have been to so far: very competent, with large eye ware selection. Doctor Yang Xia helped my husband and me for finding the perfect glasses whatever our insurance covered. In Flushing, on nearly every street there is an Optometrist or another Eye glass vendor. And among these, I would definitely say that this shop stands out. From the moment I walked in - someone greeted me immediately and asked me how they could be of service (I was a walk-in). After filling out minimal paperwork and being told that my insurance had changed from one vision provider to another; they helped and contacted the new provider to confirm what the coverage is for me. Despite having a packed waiting area, patients were efficiently processed and it took no more than 15 minutes from walking in to meeting the doc. The eye Doc, Dr. Yang was incredibly professional yet friendly, and able to explain things in a way that was easy to understand. Also he took my preference in my lens prescription in stride and adjusted his prescription for me. Moreover, after learning that an eye doctor in the past advised me of some issues in my eye, he went the extra mile and walked me through what these were and what treatment options existed. read more
