Eye Solutions is located right in the heart of Fluahing. Unless you want to pay for meter parking or private parking, it's best to come by public transportation. I came to Eye Solutions to get an eye exam for my glasses. Be advised that it's best to get an appointment, or else you may need to wait for a few hours (depending on the time of day). As soon as you walk in, there is a huge assortment of both sunglasses and eyeglasses that you can try on. You can approach one of the staff and they'll check you in. As you wait, you can help yourself to the different snacks that they have, like chips, granola, and chocolate. They also have a Keurig machine to make a cup of coffee. There's even soda, juice, tea, and water available as well. There is plenty of space to sit down and relax until you are called. After being called into the office, you sit in front of a few machines that will take images of your eyes. It can see whether there may be underlying issues with your eyes (like swelling). The vision screening was very quick and efficient. I couldn't believe the whole thing took less than 10 minutes! The good thing about this place is that they will not push you to get their glasses. In fact, you can ask for your prescription hassle free! If you have high astigmatism and want to get contacts, make sure to let them know when your appointment is so that they have an ample amount of time to order your trial lenses. My sister also came here to get new glasses after I did, and she loved how quick and painless it was.

Over six years ago was my last time buying eyeglasses. Today, my mom and I walk-in without an appointment. One of the employees greeted and assisted us. Thank god Eye Solutions accepted my vision insurance. I gave her Dr. Ky's recent prescription. I didn't need another eye exam. I informed Vivi about my dry eyes too. She explained to me about my vision insurance coverage. I picked out three frames from a wide variety of different shapes, colors, and brands. I tried them on to show Vivi. She provided her honest opinions. Vivi recommended six additional frames. I narrowed them down to two. I chose the frame which complemented my hair color and skin tone. I added anti-reflective coatings and a high index to enhance my lens. I can't wait to receive a text about picking up my new eyeglasses. Note: There was one restroom between the exam room and the complimentary hot/cold beverages station! I highly recommend Eye Solutions! Thank you so much, Vivi!

I needed to get my prescription updated after two years because my eyesight was getting worse ... I ventured to Eye Solutions based on the great Yelp reviews. They are located at the heart of downtown Flushing. Ambience: They have a very clean and inviting interior, where the waiting area feels like a cafe. There are complimentary drinks, coffee, tea and water. They also wipe down every piece of eyewear that you touch...to protect customers. Selection: They have a large selection of eyeglass frames. One little peeve is that the price is not obvious on some of the frames, so you could be looking at a $100 frame or a $500 frame. The kids glass frames selection is not as large. Service: The staff is very friendly and knowledgable, ready to assist with finding the "right" frame for you. They also offer to do adjustments for your current glasses. The onsite optometrist also does eye exams that take photos of your retina. Price: They are not necessarily the cheapest, but they are also by no means the most expensive. But overall, you walk away happy. TL/DR: Eye Solutions is a great place to go get your glasses. They create a comfortable, no pressure atmosphere and help you take care of your eye needs.

I am very impressed with Eye Solutions, in Downtown Flushing, NY. With a vision exam facility and an impressive selection of eyewear onsite, Eye Solutions makes it easy and painless [*1] to come in to get a vision exam, select a pair of frames, and return in a couple of weeks to pickup your new glasses. Dr. Wei has a very pleasant manner; she makes the vision exam a quick and easy process. Call ahead for her hours. The modern equipment seems to enable a broader examination, and also seems to make possible during the exam for bright lights to be shone into one's eyes fewer times. Gordon, the team member who assisted us with insurance work and eyewear selection in a recent visit, was awesome. We've received great service from other team members, too -- and we've witnessed team members holding the door opening for seniors exiting the store. The other distinction between Eye Solutions and most other eyeglass stores is a dedicated "refreshment zone," equipped with complimentary snacks, drinks, and VPN-friendly Wi-Fi. The snacks include chips, nuts, candy, crackers, etc.; while drinks include hot and cold water, refrigerated sodas and teas, a teabag assortment, and a Keurig machine. The store also has a well-maintained unisex bathroom with ADA grab bars. These amenities all combine to make waiting for and between services pleasant, for parents with kids, or cranky adults. [*1] How easy and painles$ may depend more on your insurance than on Eye Solutions.

Glasses on glasses on glasses! Due to COVID, once you try on a pair, the employees ask that you set them aside for cleaning!

Eye Solutions makes getting glasses an extremely smooth process! I used to go to their Chinatown branch, but once they opened in Queens, I've been going here ever since! The employees are extremely helpful and are willing to go above and beyond in their service! I purchased a pair of glasses here recently with Jin, and after I provided my insurance, he was able to provide an in-depth explanation on how to make the most of my insurance -- and I ended up getting a great deal! Two weeks later as promised, I went to Ron to pick up my glasses and get them adjusted. Ron is also very knowledgeable and adjusts glasses in a flash! Pre-covid Eye Solutions had chips and goodies out in the open, but due to covid, they've stopped this now. I loved those days! They do, however, still have refreshments (sodas, THE Chinese herbal teas, hot tea) in the waiting area in the back, which is such a plus!! Cannot recommend this place enough!! Just make sure that when you are trying on glasses, to put them aside in the nearby trays once you're done trying them on -- they disinfect them!

Came here on a Sunday to get an contact examination and refill on my contact supply. Although the wait was a little long as i was told there was one person ahead of me which would take 15mins ended up being an hour and 15 mins. Although the wait took a little long, the service was great. The optometrist walked me through every step of my examination. The sales rep assisted me in getting the right contacts and advised that I get less contacts in case my prescription changes. She also provided me additional trial lenses to ensure I get used to the contacts as my prescription did change since the last exam I took. Overall, the location is well put together and infrastructure is really cool. They offer a snack bar with coffee and tea for customers that are waiting to be assisted. The reps are bilingual mandarin, Cantonese and English so that was helpful. Had a great experience here and would be coming back soon for any of my optometry needs :).

Getting coffee from a Keurig Machine

I first came here after looking at yelp reviews cause I was in the market for prescription sunglasses before my vacation to Hawaii. I was throughly impressed after my first visit. In terms of what they offer here, it's very hard to find a comparison. First of all, tell me which eyewear shop has tables in the back to sit down to munch & drink while you wait? None to my knowledge. It's pretty unique to this store and I think a good business point of their part. For drinks, they have a keurig machine with kcups to choose from. Or even something as simple as a small bottle of water. Their food selections consists of a variety of chips/crackers/bars/candy/lollipops. And it's all free. How AWESOME is that?! With free food/drinks aside, there are other great things about this store. The selection of eyewear is pretty extensive. Once you walk into the store, you see walls and walls of glasses/sunglasses. Other stores are typically smaller in size therefore less choices. I went around to other shops, but I ended up coming back because I found something that I liked here. Secondly, the customer service doesn't disappoint. It is typically not crowded, so you pretty much have individualized attention, but it doesn't feel like they are on top of you to buy something. They give you some space if you are just looking to browse and offer help from time to time. An associate named Arthur mainly help me from the beginning to the end. Thirdly, the buying & picking up process is easy. When buying, they offer additional choices that you can add to your eyewear. [For example on my sunglasses, I had the option to get it polarized or not. They even offer different percentages of shade, an option to make it darker or lighter on the lens.] After deciding everything, the sunglasses took them 2-3 days to tint and finalize. When I came back to pick up my final product, they took the time to make sure that it fit perfectly on my face (without sliding down). They even sterilized the glasses and packed it well in a bag. Very through. I would find myself coming back here for future purchases and recommending to others.

It was time for my eye exam and my mom needed new reading glasses. At first, we had an appointment set up at Flushing Optical, but as soon as I walked in, I saw one sales associate helping her clients and the rest standing around on their cellphones. Another lady was having a snack in full view of customers. No one approached us or asked if we needed help. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I ushered my mom out the door. Once outside, I did a quick search on Yelp and found an Eyewear and Optician spot on the same block, a few stores down with a 5-star rating! And here's where Eye Solutions comes into play..lol Inside, we were greeted by an associate named Morris, who spoke English, Mandarin and Cantonese. We told him what we needed and what my mom was looking for and he got right down to work, showing us the different frames and designs that they had in stock that was in our price range. My mom picked out what she wanted, and we went to get both our eyes checked out by the licensed optometrist on site, Dr. Wei. Dr. Wei was very patient and knowledgeable. She explained each part of the checkup process and I had lots of questions about what role did each machine in the room play and she explained everything. My eyes turned out to be slightly near-sighted but I didn't require glasses. (Thank goodness) They also have a nice lounge area towards the back, complete with mini-bar full of soda, juice and water. There's chips and snacks to munch on and coffee and tea available as well. All of this is complimentary of course. The design of the break area is unique too. For example, the table tops all have in Chinese letters, a piece in a Chinese Chess set. Its a nice place to relax, while you wait to be called for your checkup or until you are helped by an associate. All in all, this was a very good experience at Eye Solutions. Customer service here is impeccable and prices are fair too. Eyeglasses are not cheap to begin with, but this location has a good selection of available frames and lenses and designs and the associates can work with you to find out which suits you best.

Just picked these up. Adjusted to fit me perfectly!

My experience with Cohen's Fashion Optical in Jackson Heights, Queens, has significantly changed…read moreover the years, particularly with the shift in staff and focus. Previously, the customer service prioritized patient care and eye health, but now the emphasis seems to be on financial gain rather than customer satisfaction. I initially visited the location under the care of Dr. Kim, and later transitioned to Dr. Martinez. Recently, I scheduled an appointment to get contact lenses. I used my insurance coverage and still had to pay out-of-pocket for a six-month supply of contacts, which led me to sign up for Cohen's in-store credit card. I was given a trial supply for a week; however, by the second day, I experienced discomfort and headaches from the lenses. When I returned to inform the staff, I was told to wait until my full order arrived. During this waiting period, I requested a copy of my prescription to purchase glasses elsewhere. The staff hesitated to provide it, which is concerning as withholding a prescription from a patient is against the law. After insisting, I was finally given my prescription and ordered glasses from an external retailer. Ironically, my glasses arrived before the contact lenses I had initially ordered from Cohen's. When my contacts finally arrived, Dr. Martinez advised the staff to order three different brands for me to try. However, a month passed without any updates, despite the fact that I had already begun making payments for items I did not even have. Upon following up, I was told to continue making the payments. After an additional week and a half, I returned only to find out that my trial lenses had been sitting there without any notification to me. After trying the three different brands, I found that the most comfortable pair was actually cheaper than my original order. However, Cohen's attempted to charge me $50 more than the market price. Prior to this, I had researched the brand and its market value, confirming the overcharge. This experience highlights the lack of communication within this particular branch and reinforces the perception that their primary focus is profit rather than patient care. The shift in priorities at Cohen's Fashion Optical - Jackson Heights is evident in their reluctance to provide basic information, failure to communicate with patients in a timely manner, and questionable pricing practices. While I have been a long-time customer, this experience has left me reconsidering whether I will continue to seek services at this location. For those in search of reliable and patient-centered optical care, I would recommend exploring other options before committing to Cohen's Fashion Optical. "This company lacks a genuine mission or core values. Their responses to reviews are generic and insincere, showing little interest in real customer feedback. It feels like they care more about appearances than actually addressing concerns."

I texted them in my annoyance and told them they needed to fix their hours and also include their business hrs when they text people their orders are ready. I work in a similar setting and every text lists our business hours so people know when they are able to pick up. The only way I was able to pick up my sons glasses was due to him being sick and I had to leave work early to get him. All in all it wasn't a great experience. Their customer service needs major help. We will be looking to go elsewhere for his follow up.
