I came to Eye Solutions to get an eye exam for my glasses. Be advised that it's best to get an appointment, or else you may need to wait for a few hours (depending on the time of day). As soon as you walk in, there is a huge assortment of both sunglasses and eyeglasses that you can try on. You can approach one of the staff and they'll check you in. As you wait, you can help yourself to the different snacks that they have, like chips, granola, and chocolate. They also have a Keurig machine to make a cup of coffee. There's even soda, juice, tea, and water available as well. There is plenty of space to sit down and relax until you are called. After being called into the office, you sit in front of a few machines that will take images of your eyes. It can see whether there may be underlying issues with your eyes (like swelling). The vision screening was very quick and efficient. I couldn't believe the whole thing took less than 10 minutes! The good thing about this place is that they will not push you to get their glasses. She explained to me about my vision insurance coverage. I picked out three frames from a wide variety of different shapes, colors, and brands. I tried them on to show Vivi. She provided her honest opinions. Vivi recommended six additional frames. I narrowed them down to two. I chose the frame which complemented my hair color and skin tone. I needed to get my prescription updated after two years because my eyesight was getting worse ... I ventured to Eye Solutions based on the great Yelp reviews. They are located at the heart of downtown Flushing. Ambience: They have a very clean and inviting interior, where the waiting area feels like a cafe. There are complimentary drinks, coffee, tea and water. They also wipe down every piece of eyewear that you touch...to protect customers. Selection: They have a large selection of eyeglass frames. One little peeve is that the price is not obvious on some of the frames, so you could be looking at a $100 frame or a $500 frame. The kids glass frames selection is not as large. Service: The staff is very friendly and knowledgable, ready to assist with finding the "right" frame for you. They also offer to do adjustments for your current glasses. The onsite optometrist also does eye exams that take photos of your retina. Price: They are not necessarily the cheapest, but they are also by no means the most expensive. The employees are extremely helpful and are willing to go above and beyond in their service! I purchased a pair of glasses here recently with Jin, and after I provided my insurance, he was able to provide an in-depth explanation on how to make the most of my insurance -- and I ended up getting a great deal! Two weeks later as promised, I went to Ron to pick up my glasses and get them adjusted. Ron is also very knowledgeable and adjusts glasses in a flash! Pre-covid Eye Solutions had chips and goodies out in the open, but due to covid, they've stopped this now. I loved those days! Although the wait was a little long as i was told there was one person ahead of me which would take 15mins ended up being an hour and 15 mins. Although the wait took a little long, the service was great. The optometrist walked me through every step of my examination. The sales rep assisted me in getting the right contacts and advised that I get less contacts in case my prescription changes. She also provided me additional trial lenses to ensure I get used to the contacts as my prescription did change since the last exam I took. Overall, the location is well put together and infrastructure is really cool. They offer a snack bar with coffee and tea for customers that are waiting to be assisted. Eye Solutions is phenomenal! The store is huge, clean, and well lit. I placed a call for an appointment before I went and scheduled it for 6 pm. I ended up getting to Eye Solutions at 5:20 pm, and let the people at the front know that I was early. They told me that there were two people in front of me, but I could be seen as soon as those two were done. I waited in their waiting section which was stocked with beverages and water. I did not know how to get into the fridge where the Vita drinks were, so I just sipped on the water bottles they provided lol. I got into the office/optometrist room at around 5:45. I didn't get the optometrist's name, but she was very kind and efficient. She helped me determine what my contact prescription was and recommended that I get astigmatism lenses. We tried several new contacts before she determined that the current lenses I use (Acuvue Moist) were the best fitting ones. The eye exam and contact fitting took around 30 minutes, but I am already a contacts user so definitely allocate more time if you're trying on contacts for the first time (it took me over an hour JUST to get my first pair of contact lenses in four years ago). I finished up at the front desk, and they let me know what my copay was (which I already knew having called the first time), how much my insurance covered, and the plan for me after trialing my four days of contacts. I first came here after looking at yelp reviews cause I was in the market for prescription sunglasses before my vacation to Hawaii. I was throughly impressed after my first visit. In terms of what they offer here, it's very hard to find a comparison. First of all, tell me which eyewear shop has tables in the back to sit down to munch & drink while you wait? None to my knowledge. It's pretty unique to this store and I think a good business point of their part. For drinks, they have a keurig machine with kcups to choose from. Or even something as simple as a small bottle of water. Their food selections consists of a variety of chips/crackers/bars/candy/lollipops. And it's all free. How AWESOME is that?! With free food/drinks aside, there are other great things about this store. The selection of eyewear is pretty extensive. Once you walk into the store, you see walls and walls of glasses/sunglasses. Other stores are typically smaller in size therefore less choices. I went around to other shops, but I ended up coming back because I found something that I liked here. Secondly, the customer service doesn't disappoint. It is typically not crowded, so you pretty much have individualized attention, but it doesn't feel like they are on top of you to buy something. They give you some space if you are just looking to browse and offer help from time to time. An associate named Arthur mainly help me from the beginning to the end. Thirdly, the buying & picking up process is easy. When buying, they offer additional choices that you can add to your eyewear. [For example on my sunglasses, I had the option to get it polarized or not. They even offer different percentages of shade, an option to make it darker or lighter on the lens.] After deciding everything, the sunglasses took them 2-3 days to tint and finalize. When I came back to pick up my final product, they took the time to make sure that it fit perfectly on my face (without sliding down). They even sterilized the glasses and packed it well in a bag. It was time for my eye exam and my mom needed new reading glasses. At first, we had an appointment set up at Flushing Optical, but as soon as I walked in, I saw one sales associate helping her clients and the rest standing around on their cellphones. Another lady was having a snack in full view of customers. No one approached us or asked if we needed help. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I ushered my mom out the door. Once outside, I did a quick search on Yelp and found an Eyewear and Optician spot on the same block, a few stores down with a 5-star rating! And here's where Eye Solutions comes into play..lol Inside, we were greeted by an associate named Morris, who spoke English, Mandarin and Cantonese. We told him what we needed and what my mom was looking for and he got right down to work, showing us the different frames and designs that they had in stock that was in our price range. My mom picked out what she wanted, and we went to get both our eyes checked out by the licensed optometrist on site, Dr. Wei. Dr. Wei was very patient and knowledgeable. She explained each part of the checkup process and I had lots of questions about what role did each machine in the room play and she explained everything. My eyes turned out to be slightly near-sighted but I didn't require glasses. (Thank goodness) They also have a nice lounge area towards the back, complete with mini-bar full of soda, juice and water. There's chips and snacks to munch on and coffee and tea available as well. All of this is complimentary of course. The design of the break area is unique too. For example, the table tops all have in Chinese letters, a piece in a Chinese Chess set. Its a nice place to relax, while you wait to be called for your checkup or until you are helped by an associate. All in all, this was a very good experience at Eye Solutions. Customer service here is impeccable and prices are fair too. By far the best customer service I had ever received! Its going to be a long review! My friend came here about a month ago and recommended me to come here to get glasses. My previous pair was long overdue and was semi-cracking, so I decided it was time to check my eyes. Prior to making the appointment (does not need to be by appt but on weekends, its best to do so), I messaged through Yelp and had several questions. The owner Grace responded within the same day answering all my questions and possibly more. She gave me a call and the appointment was book within minutes. Arriving, the moment I walked through the doors, every single staffed greeted me. That's amazing, especially in Flushing! I was directed to this woman who might possibly be a manager? I wish I remembered her name but she was super attentive and had small conversation with me to make it more comforting. I browsed around and being indecisive, she came over and recommended different frames and eventually I had her pick for me. Dr. Wei was super friendly and made the eye exam quick and easy. Unlike most places, I wasn't rushed and neither did I feel at all rushed to get out. Everything was clearly explained to me including the cost and all. Very professional! This place is great. This is a totally great concept. Open up a little complimentary cafe with free snack food (chips, noodles, cookies, and stuff like that) and drinks (hot coffee, tea, bottle water, soda, etc), right inside the optical store. I hung out in the cafe while I waited for my turn for an eye exam and or other optical needs. I love this place. Such a comfortable atmosphere. The cafe is decorated in dark wood and brick with cute little round tables. Ok. Now on to the real reason I'm here. Not the free food and drinks. They accept many types of insurance which is great. And I really like their selection of eye glass frames. Modern, new designer and trendy styles. The eye doctor Dr Wei, was great. Very thorough in the exam and very updated equipment in her office. Efficient and friendly; I was looking for a same-day appointment anywhere in Flushing after my initial recommended place fell through (it literally didn't exist anymore). After calling in to five other places, Eye Solutions picked up and said that they could fit me in in 2 hours' time. For an eye exam, I got in and out in 20 minutes. They checked temperature & gave hand sanitizer when walking in, and wiped down the machines. It felt like they had a good sense of timing to make sure people didn't end up waiting long. Good price. This is the second location I've really been in for eye solutions (the first being the one on 8th avenue). Since I had some time to kill before my boyfriend's haircut was done, I decided to go inside to ask about pricing for another pair of glasses (spare because I'm very clumsy). I was helped immediately and the guy who helped me answered all my questions professionally. He also talked me into actually buying a pair with the pricing and all (with insurance too). Unfortunately, they were already fully booked (plus it was around 5:30PM-6PM so they close at 7?? so I totally understand) so I couldn't see the eye doctor for an examination (despite my last eye exam being 10/2017). But that wasn't an issue since he was able to book me for the next morning at 18th avenue very quickly. He also told me I could get various shapes (because I chose a rimless frame) and he helped me choose between a few different shapes (he suggested one that was a bit more feminine and I just took it since I'm very easy going AND BLIND AF without my glasses LOL. I'm sure I looked fine though.) My boyfriend also really liked this place since it had a place for him to wait for me when he was finally done with his haircut (a place to sit, chill, charge his phone and snack). I was very impressed when I first walked into this store. I noticed that there was a decent supply of glasses to choose from and I was excited because I heard good things from this place from a friend. I recently got vision insurance and was looking to replace my current pair of glasses. Customer service was great at first. I was approached by Ryan(?) who was courteous and offered me a few pairs of glasses to try on. He and another girl switched off on assisting me while I looked to find a pair to buy. In the end, I found a pair that I liked and requested if they could put the glasses on hold for me until Friday so Ryan went through the process of checking if I have insurance and explaining the end cost to me which was going well I thought. What caught me by surprise is that in the middle of our conversation, he turns to the girl who help assist me and said "she's probably not even going to come back" in Cantonese but resumed back to speaking in English with me. The thing is, I'm Chinese and I'm fluent in Cantonese. But throughout the whole process, I spoke in English because this is the language I was approached with and also why not when Ryan and the other girl who were assisting me understood me perfectly fine. I don't look foreign or anything so I'm not sure why he thought that was appropriate to say in front of me. And maybe he had assumed I don't speak the language.... but I do and I thought that was really rude, that after that happened, I was really disappointed and am still discouraged from coming back even though I did like the pair I picked out. Now, let's talk about their in-house optometrist. I've been wearing glasses since the 5th grade so I've had my fair share of optometrist interactions over the years, and Dr. Wei was the first optometrist who was patient, informative, and thorough with my eye examination. I mentioned to her my dry eye problem, she addressed my concerns, and prescribed me the necessary remedial eye drops for pick up the following day at my local drug store. The eye examination was painless, because no air puff necessary! The technology used in this exam is pretty cool to me. They have this one machine that takes a picture of each eye and Dr. Wei is able to see the nerves behind your eyes. She pulls these photos up and explains to you how to read the photograph to determine your eye health. She gave me a pair of contacts that were more comfortable than the old pair I've been wearing. She mentioned that my old contacts had the wrong prescription which is one of the attributes to my headaches/dizziness when wearing them. I have never been to a optometry clinic that spent this much time and effort in making sure that the glasses fit well and were comfortable. This place is on another level.. it's so spacious and bright. They have an extensive selection of frames and the best part is the center piece . they have a drink station and a snack station. One is full of chips, dum dums , gummies, and fruits. The other station has a Keurig machine and a hot water boiler. They also have Capri Sun and bottles of water. The bottom had a mini fridge that was stocked with soft drinks and vita soy drinks. It was actually pretty impressive. I've never seen an eyeglass store like this one. I'll definitely be coming back. This place is amazing. They really go above and beyond with great customer service. I was a regular at the chinatown location. But I must say, this place may be even better. It occupies a massive space on Main Street. There is a large waiting area with snacks if you ever need to wait for anything. But usually there's plenty of qualified staff on hand to help you immediately. Guy at the front desk is a genius when it comes to getting your glasses to sit perfectly on your face. I passed by this optical place right on Main Street, flushing. I was immediately greeted by Wen. I was looking for a pair of glasses for my son. They had a good selection for kids, and prices are competitive. They have their own snack bar in the back while you wait for your lenses. This place is AWESOME! they have their own lab inside the store ;you do not need to wait weeks to get your glasses! You get them right away, you do need to wait about 30-60 minutes , but hey! Our designated rep was great about helping my parents pick out their frames and then explaining the cost breakdown associated with the different lens features. I'm liking this location more than the other one in Chinatown. The place is super clean and smells fresh. The overall design is also nice and organized. They also offer food and drinks while you wait like the other location. You can get cookies, chips, ramen, coffee, water, tea, vitasoy drinks, etc. Basically it's like a mini cafe. Service was also good, both front staff and Doctor was knowledgeable and friendly. The whole process went smoothly. The doctor talked a bit fast but she explained everything thoroughly, overall good "bedside manners". She diagnosed my relative with slight cataracts and made sure dilation was covered by insurance. The technology at this location is much more high tech. Only possible con I can think of is maybe the price of frames, but there's a huge variety available. Overall this a great place to get glasses. Also on our way out the workers offered us umbrellas since it was raining, but we were already prepared for the weather at the time. read more

What an amazing eye glasses store in Flushing. Once I walked in, the woman at the front gave me hand sanitizer and I noticed the decor was very nice and welcoming with their warm lighting and lounge area. I looked through the glasses while waiting for my eye exam and the guy helping me was helpful and also left me alone to give me space to decide and try on frames. The female eye doctor was beyond nice and very sweet. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and warm. Everyone was just very kind and friendly and took their time to explain what to expect and wanted to help. Overall I had a great experience at eye solutions and the service and atmosphere was really top notch. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more
