They take walk-ins, which is great for the locals in the Flushing community. The pricing on the eye exam and contact lens exam is very competitive. I chose to come to him because the optometrists in midtown near me are all 2x 3x the price, and Dr. Xia is around the same price as my hometown in PA. (I have VSP eye insurance, but I still think the price for out of pocket is similar if not the same.) If you call, the folks on the phone are quite helpful. And I had a question (on New Years Eve!) about the way my exam was run through my insurance, and Dr. Xia himself called me the next day to answer my question. Very top service. I can't speak to the service and product around getting contacts or glasses in this shop, but the exam and physician service is very good value for money. I've already recommended him to a friend who is going there.

Avoid this place at all cost. This business has very dishonest practices and seems almost…read morescam-like. I am hoping my review saves at least one innocent, unknowing person the hassle and wasted $$ since I was deceived by the positive reviews. I now suspect all the positive reviews are friends or somehow related to the biz owners. Trying to keep the review short and to the point: I paid $120 but they gave me the wrong prescription that were way too strong for me and even looked so much thicker than my old glass lenses. I voiced my concern but they adamantly claimed it was correct. I'm not a person to complain so I just paid and left but I had a gut feeling something wasn't right. I ended up taking my glasses back because it was unbearably too strong and my friends and family that wear glasses even said something is not right for them to be too strong and way thicker than my old glasses. The man and woman at the store claimed it was correct but if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay extra $70. I asked them to fix it because I rather spend $190 for correct prescriptions rather than waste $120 + spend more to get it fixed at another place. I ended up paying just $30 more because the new lenses they were planning on using for my fix that they quoted me $70 more for wasn't in stock. Wtf? So they just use whatever they have in stock even if it's not the right prescription for the customer? This explains why I needed it redone in the first place. The worst part is the "fix" was still way too strong for me to the point I can't wear it for more than 10 seconds without feeling my eyes are going to pop out the socket, probably because they used to wrong prescription again! I can guess it's because they didn't want to special order the correct prescription for me but still wanted my money so used the closest to my prescription they had in stock. I went to another place that fixed it for me and confirmed I was deceived and got ripped off. I decided to take the $150 loss since I wanted to save my mental health rather than argue with these terrible, dishonest biz owners since they're just going to deny it and tell me I don't know anything about glasses (that's what they said when I called them out, but I've been wearing glasses my whole life and never had a problem until I came here). The only thing I can do is post my honest review and hope someone reading this doesn't waste their money and get deceived.

I have been wearing glasses for a decade and contacts for nearly 8 years, visited nearly 20 optometrists and plenty of eyewear establishments, and I can say without hesitation that this store is on top of the game. The optometrist is by far the most friendly and thorough one I have met. Where others before have been hasty with eye exams and completed them under 15 minutes, Dr. Jeff continuously worked to make sure that the contacts were the best possible fit and provided me with the clearest vision. He patiently answered and explained astigmatism whereas other doctors had sufficed their answers to, "It means your cornea is football shaped." Other than the doctor, the man and the woman up front were equally as helpful and accommodating, providing me with different contacts to try on and were very clear about their prices and rates (which are very affordable). They take their time and answer all of your questions. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for any vision problems.

I was distressed when I returned to the Park Slope store in January 2023 only to find it had closed. I tried to locate someone from the store but failed to locate anyone. My eyeglasses had shattered internally, and the visible cracks on both lenses were long and distracting. I'd never had a pair do this. I had always been treated with great customer care, and I now felt abandoned! I almost called the Better Business Bureau, but held off as I like to give the benefit of the doubt. Another local optometrist thought the lenses were plastic and not polycarbonate. That was impossible I thought! Needless to say, as I was about to spend another several hundred dollars at a new store, a new associate recognized me and told me Sam had to close due to higher rents! I never found their goodbye email! Well, Sam and I reconnected! He drove from Queens to my home in the Slope. He took my glasses personally to the Lab, replaced the lenses for free--I was just shy of the warranty--and hand-delivered them before he left on a month-long vacation with his family in Asia!!! My eyeglasses are like new! I am thrilled and a very happy customer! Anyone doing business with Sam wherever he is will be in the best care, the best hands.
