I as well, don't wear glasses so I don't know how the process goes and what goes into buying glasses. The front desk staff and the optician were incredible - they were gentle, patient, helpful and thorough. They are multilingual and had a good rapport with my dad. They explained how the lenses work, how a lens is split up into different areas, and how he should wear glasses suited for his activities. When the glasses were ready a couple of weeks later, they called us over to pick them up. They then fit the glasses to his face and tested if he was able to see certain things. Overall, I had a great experience and glad the process was so smooth. Thank you!

Wow, amazing service. From check in, retina testing, eye exam and glass fitting. Everyone is so nice here and the service is top notch. Highly recommend, and actually told my parents they need to come here on their next eye exam visit. The thing that I also like the most was doctor was very informative about my eyes and when it came to glass fitting, I loved that there was no pressure on getting any specific frames they were pushing. It was very comforting that the person who helped me just wanted to make sure I like my glasses. Pricing was also very easy. She gave me options and was very transparent with what was covered and not. Again there was no pressure at all to upgrade lens to make them thinner so really appreciate she just wanted to make sure I was comfortable with whichever option I chose.

I was distressed when I returned to the Park Slope store in January 2023 only to find it had closed. I tried to locate someone from the store but failed to locate anyone. My eyeglasses had shattered internally, and the visible cracks on both lenses were long and distracting. I'd never had a pair do this. I had always been treated with great customer care, and I now felt abandoned! I almost called the Better Business Bureau, but held off as I like to give the benefit of the doubt. Another local optometrist thought the lenses were plastic and not polycarbonate. That was impossible I thought! Needless to say, as I was about to spend another several hundred dollars at a new store, a new associate recognized me and told me Sam had to close due to higher rents! I never found their goodbye email! Well, Sam and I reconnected! He drove from Queens to my home in the Slope. He took my glasses personally to the Lab, replaced the lenses for free--I was just shy of the warranty--and hand-delivered them before he left on a month-long vacation with his family in Asia!!! My eyeglasses are like new! I am thrilled and a very happy customer! Anyone doing business with Sam wherever he is will be in the best care, the best hands. He is a business man of integrity and respects his customers! I respect and adore his compassion! Thank you Sam and NU eyes! Dr. Rorie B

I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to eye glasses. They helped me pick a frame and got me a pair of reading glasses and a pair of progressives according to my prescription. Price was fair. Service was friendly. The place is cute and convenient. Got my glasses quickly. Here's where they really shine: I hated the progressives. Freaking HATED them. They told me I had... I think it was 60 days to return them if I wasn't happy. In that time, my dad was hospitalized for 3 weeks, wound up dying... we had the funeral, mourning... and by the time I was back on the road and trying to wear these damned glasses again, my 60 days were GONE. I bit the bullet though, went back and just asked them to change out the lenses for standard long distance lenses using the same frames. I knew I was going to pay... didn't even ask for a favor. I returned today to have the new lenses swapped out with my frames... it took about 5 minutes (I didn't realize I'd be able to wait for them and have it done so quickly), they're perfect now, and there was NO CHARGE. Freaking HUMAN BEINGS in this store, I tell you. Bravo!
