I have a strong prescription and was expecting to spend around $700+ on glasses, so I wanted to explore my options here. When I arrived, I met a friendly Latina staff member with nice glasses and a tall masc presenting person with curly hair. After inquiring about my insurance. They informed me that my insurance was out of network, but I was still willing to shop there. They then introduced me to Julia, who was handling intake. Unfortunately, my experience with Julia was disappointing. She seemed disinterested and unwelcoming, which made me feel like my business wasn't valued. I understand that everyone has bad days, but customer service plays a huge role in shaping a customer's experience. First impressions matter, and in just a minute, I decided not to proceed with my visit. It's unfortunate because I was eager to support a local business. I hope this was just an off day, but I would encourage management to ensure that all staff members, especially those at the front desk, are equipped to provide a welcoming and professional experience. Buyer beware if Vision World makes a mistake with your glasses. Management will not be willing to make things right to keep the relationship with you. In December of 2023 I received an eye exam and ordered progressive lenses for about $200-my prescription on file says as such. After several months of headaches, I went to my doctor, who informed me that my prescription had worsened, and that the glasses I purchased from Vision World were not progressive at all. I went back to Vision World, where they agreed that the glasses I received were not progressive (both the sales associate and doctor on staff checked them on the computer on file), and that there was a mistake. To their credit, I was charged for single vision--about $120 after insurance, and not for progressive lenses. I understand that mistakes happen. I was willing to pay the additional amount for the progressive lenses I should have received. The sales associate (who was very nice and accommodating) spoke to her manager on the phone. The manager however, was unwilling to honor the original price of the lenses I should have received, and informed me that I'd need to pay an additional $200-250 for new progressive lenses (after insurance)--not counting the amount I'd already paid. I essentially paid for a pair of single vision glasses that I did not need or want. My advice is to check the glasses you receive from Vision World carefully, and with a third party eye doctor if possible, because from my experience, if any mistakes are made, you will be on your own. When I first walked in to Vision World I was greeted by Ariella. Ariella was such a nice positive person that it made me so happy I came into this store. She had such a great attitude and vibe. I recommend coming to this store if only to interact with Ariella. Farrah the tech was Awesome, sweet and very helpful. She put me at ease as she went about her business. Excellent vibe as well and made me feel very comfortable. I had to make a compliment of the two fabulous workers here so I spoke to the manager Mike who as well was so awesome and had a great vibe!! The great thing about this place is they don't try to oversell you on expensive items and they let you choose what you like and give you great ideas on what to get. So I requested to talk to the manager to cancel the order and left voice mail to the manager but never got response from the manager. They still charge me $80 on a box of contact (which is overpriced than the market price). I disputed the transaction with my bank, and the transaction seemed to be removed. But the store charges me again in Oct's bill for the product that I never received!!! I have to dispute the transaction again! Stay away from this store! I am very unhappy with all the services they charged me without even making sure that they have them. I was charged $220 for the antifog coating only to find out that that was not possible with Virex lenses. The eyeglasses were dripping from the moisture accumulated in just 1/2 hour after I walked out from the store. I went back immediately and I was told to go back when the supervisor is in the office. I went back again and then is when I found out that the antifog was not applied to my lenses. They gave me a cloth with an antifog agent and asked me to try again. I bought 2 glasses from these people and both broke, such poor quality. They told me to come in. Then they told me I have to wait 1 hour to speak to a supervisor. They all have such bad attitudes. I waited and showed her the 2 broken frames. She told me the insurance will not pay but she will replace the glasses since its a manufacture fault and to pick up in 2 weeks. I went back after 2 weeks only to be told by another person its not replaceable by the insurance and they will give me a frame for $80.00.The supervisor knew the insurance wouldn't pay so they are all crooks in there. Also I noticed when I change my health care plan they were pressuring me to do 2 eye test. I told the girl at the desk I am not going through that eye test again for the second time in one month. Vision world has never been consistent with who they hire as their Doctors. Been going for 5 years and have never seen the same DR 2 times. The overall front desk female staff is unprofessional, rude, incompetent and have no idea how to do their job. The person who does the hiring at this place really needs to reevaluate their staffs competence. The women do their makeup behind the counter, are always gossiping, talking about their hair, or nails and will not stop their conversation when you stop at the desk for a question. The assistant manager is a complete work of art! I went there a few months ago and had to reorder a fill on contacts and she told me her records indicated that I haven't been there in 3 years which is hilarious because I can prove with insurance and cc statements that I was in fact there. They don't update their records and they don't know what they're doing there.Staff doesn't want to help you, if you want to go with another company to get glasses or contacts elsewhere they make excuses to WITHHOLD YOUR prescription. My husband and I were looking around for an eye doctor since we are new this area and we were so happy to have found Vision World! Dr. Tao and Talia (aka Ms. Fabulous) were AMAZING!! We loved that they weren't trying to "sell" us on eye glasses or contacts, but were really informing us of our options. Talia has such a great eye for helping to choose which glasses look best on your face and not to mention how friendly and helpful she was. Also loved that Dr. Tao was looking out for our soon-to-be baby girl and was already recommending a pediatric eye doctor for her. We couldn't have asked for a better experience at an eye doctor!! Why this optical store has 4 stars? I don't know! My first and last experience was horrible. Eye doctor spent less than 15 minutes with me and then just told me to wait after she quickly left. I waited there 10-15 minutes and I asked one of the girls how much longer do I have to wait. She said 30 minutes because my "eyes were dilating". I responded what does that mean? The other girls working there ask me if the doctor put eye drops in my eyes.. NO she did NOT! I just want my new prescription on my OWN frames. The girl apologizes and then claims that since my prescription is high the lenses would be thicker than the frame and if I want them to be thin, I'd have to pay out of pocket. I said what? I really wouldn't give this place one star. Their customer service is horrible. I had a 5:30 appointment. I arrived at 5:40. I was told by the "manager" that they see the last patient at 5:30 so she will find out if I can be seen. She told me that he agreed to see. She told me to have a seat because there were 2 people ahead of me. She made a big deal of me being 10 mins late but still had to patients ahead of me. I didn't want to sit in the waiting area so I decided to step out. I made sure to ask how long was the wait I was told 15 mins. Less than 10 mins past I got a call telling me to come back. I went back in less than a minute. I get there and was told by the doctor that I was not going to be seen. I would have never stepped out if I wasn't told by the "manager" that I would have to wait 15 mins. Especially due to Covid I can choose not to sit in a waiting area with other people. The manager lied to me on many occasions. She told me they tried to call me before 5:30 but they didn't. Then she told me that there was a 15 min wait another lie. I could have taken my business someplace else. I only went to this optical because it's in the area where I work. I'm current working from home and this optical is not near my home. But I still made the decision to come here. My time was not taken into consideration. I was not given a grace period. I will never bring my business to this optical and I will make sure corporate is made aware of this situation. Customer service is important to me. I'm all for socializing and having fun at work, but please get your priorities straight. Don't make customers wait until you're done gossiping with each other. Instead, every time I've been here I feel like I'm bothering them and am a nuisance just by showing up for my appointment. Working on a Saturday sucks, I know because I hear you complaining on your phone to your friends about it. Last time I had to wait an extra hour after my appointment to speak with a manager(?) about getting glasses. Why did I have to wait? Because she was out getting coffee...for an hour! Please respect your customers and their time. Chat when no one is in need of service and fix your attitudes. Once again, the doctor is great. I just don't know if she is aware of her front office staff since she's always so busy with appointments in the back. I've decided to stop coming here (despite its convenience to where I live) purely based on the unpleasant vibes and long wait times I get from visiting this place. This is my new go to spot, they are very professional..you wouldn't expect it to be that busy because of the area, but they do great business! Every time I walked in someone was in there. I'd also say it's super clean, everything from signing in to the waiting area.. When I first went I was greeted by the doctor (Violetta) who ran like 6 different tests on my eyes, which I actually liked.. I knew she wanted to get exact results, that would overall help me with the lens that would suit my eyes.. I went to Vision World for the first time this weekend, but unfortunately I will not be returning. While the facility itself is clean and tidy, reception staff friendly, doctor and assistant knowledgable and pleasant, and coffee, water and snacks available while you wait, I cannot overlook the fact that while I indicated on my new patient form that I wear gas permeable lenses, and mentioned I was there for an eye exam and lens fitting, it was not disclosed to me until after my exam that this facility does not handle orders for gas permeable lenses, only soft! Rather than inform me of this before I spent and hour of the doctor's and my time, the staff overlooked this important detail, and now I have to repeat the exam (they didn't even give me my contact lens Rx and sizing) and deal with insurance to get this second exam covered because of their lack of attention to detail. Honestly, did you think I was suddenly going to switch to soft lenses? I would have given Vision World 5 stars if it weren't for this glaring oversight. I have never had this happen before, and I have worn this style of lenses for 25 years and lived in 3 states without having this issue. If you need an eye exam or wear soft lenses by all means visit this facility, but if you wear gas permeable lenses, keep on walkin'...... read more
