Having an issue with the product/service (needed an adjustment after picking up my new glasses), which can always happen, and receiving such an upfront response surely helps reinforce the client-business relationship. FRAUD This place stole my insurance information and used it to bill my insurance for a service they did not provide. The manager Roman yelled and cursed at me and then hung up on me, after acknowledging that he billed my insurance for a service they did not provide. He is NOT the owner of the establishment, but he and the other associates refuse to give contact information for a direct report. There is no way to speak to anyone else or to receive any further assistance. They also lied to the insurance company about the date of service with the glasses they did have a right to bill for. They obviously forgot that they send out text messages when glasses are done, creating a paper trail for dates of service. Needless to say, the insurance company has requested and received this proof and has begun the process of taking the money back. This is a crime, this is fraud- and they will be stripped of their ability to be a provider for Medicaid/Medicare. They have also been reported to the state department that deals with insurance fraud and are being investigated. Avoid this place at all cost. This was after they broken my glasses and took a month and a half to replace them. Also, the contact lens fitting fee is a SCAM. Don't be fooled. If you have worn contacts for years, this place will try to charge you a fee every time you want to reorder contacts. They will try to tell you that a contact lens exam is different than a regular eye exam, however their own optometrist told me years ago that this is not true. I paid this fee for years and they never once "fitted" me in the contacts that I had been wearing for 25 years. This time I went to a real optometrist office and they of course did not charge me an additional fee to give me a contact lens prescription that I could fill where ever I wanted, as an eye exam is an eye exam. And of course the optometrist allowed me to use my insurance for the exam where Coco's would refuse to let me use my insurance and made me pay out of pocket if I wanted contacts in addition to glasses. THIS IS A SCAM. If you do not want to deal with a fraudulent business that is actively committing crimes, if you do not won't to spend hours for days on the phone with your insurance company trying to rectify the fraudulent charges this place has billed your insurance for causing the insurance to not pay for actual services that you did use at other places- then avoid this criminal institution. read more

I've never really had any issues with my eyes but figured I'm getting older so I should get a quick checkup. I also needed to get an eye exam for work so I purchased a really affordable deal from Groupon for Coco's Eye Vision Center. I made the appointment the day before without any issues. The day of, I was sent a text reminder which was helpful. I got to my appointment and was pleasantly greeted by Vanessa who was working behind the counter. They have a huge selection of frames and the place is very well kept and clean. I explained to Vanessa what I was there for and then filled out some paperwork. First, I sat in an exam room where Vanessa took a quick baseline eye exam and then I was seen by Dr. Millas - all within 20 minutes of arriving. Dr. Millas was very nice, well-mannered and knowledgeable. Before starting, I told him about how my first experience at an eye doctor traumatized me when I was like 10 ... lol. He made my examination as pleasant as could be. He was very thorough in telling what he was doing throughout the examination and then explained to me what he found. I'm not sure if Dr. Millas is the only Optometrist that works for Coco's Vision Center, but he gets my recommendation for future customers and definitely my praise. read more

Treatment here started very well but went on deteriorating more and more every day. It came to the point that this business, including, staff, the owner's father, and mother were completely negligent with me. They sold me glasses at discounted prices in the beginning and then went on to scam me and leave me with glasses that are the wrong prescription and which have become a danger for me to use. To start, I bought an emergency pair of glasses and they fell apart. I brought them to be serviced as they advertise to fix the glasses they sell for free, and the woman (who is the mother of the owner (Ethan), and who is supposed to be the technician did not fix my glasses and refused to do anything to make it usable. They wanted me to get another pair of glasses and pay for them. I went to the store across the street and not only where the glasses fixable, but the guy changed the screws and the nose pieces for free. I was going to be forced to stay without glasses and not see because of this business. The glasses ended up breaking anyway and I again brought them back and without choice bought the same frame, they charged me full price as if I had ordered glasses with the lenses instead of charging me only for the frame which was what was changed. In addition, in another instance Ethan, the owner sold me some Tag Heuer glasses charging $450 dollars to my insurance and them charging me an additional $250, making me think that I was getting luxury glasses. When it was time to get them at the store the whole process took more than 1 year. They always had an excuse, saying things like, it was a special order, the owner is not here and only he can talk to you about this order, they are special lenses, we have to call the insurance, etc etc. In the end I ended up with expired lenses and now I am having a hard time to drive and also to see at work. Not only this, but the frames I chose were not the same one I ordered. I am sure the one they gave me are quite cheeper than the one I chose and completely different - completely different color too, and they lied to me telling me that I did not know what I ordered. The owner's father who is supposed to be the manager called me a liar and told me that these were the frames I ordered. I told him that I had other frames and he cynically told me, show me! They sold the frames to someone else and no longer had the frames there. When I told them to switch to other frames that were similar to mine and of course would be more expensive, he lied and told me those were frames for women. On top of this they told me several times that Ethan, the owner, was on vacation for several months. Then they told me that Ethan would be back in November 2021, this was before October. When I came to the store and asked if Ethan was there in November I was told that they did not know when he would come back, then ended up telling me that Ethan, the owner doesn't work there anymore the next time I came. The owner does not work there anymore? Give me a break! - In addition, the manager who is Ethan's father told me he does not have Ethan's number, being that he is his father, I do not understand this. Then he puts the phone on calling Ethan and says that Ethan never answers him. Told me to leave a message for him with his phone in his hand and told me he would not hand me the phone, like if I was going to steal it. Ethan never returned my call. In essence, this place is garbage, they will mistreat you, humiliate you, lie to you, give you frames that break and then charge you more for new frames, when the frames can be fixed so you will get new frames when you don't need to and charge you for lenses when you are not even getting new lenses. On top of all of this you can be left without being able to see or even get into a car accident because your lenses will fall while you are driving. In the end I ended up paying $750 dollars on a frame that was less than that price (was robbed), and now I have prescriptions that are no good for my eyes and cannot see properly. They left me with compromised vision and with wasted money, tricked me into buying things I did not need and left me with my hands tied after I had already ordered everything and they refuse to give me new lenses. I told them the lenses are old and they said, so get new ones. They made the mistake and wanted me to pay for new lenses. Now I will be forced to buy lenses somewhere else. As the old saying says, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and in this case I got robbed by someone who pretended to be my friend. Come here if you want to be treated like crap! read more

It seems like when I'm being sold something, I get lots of attention. Now that I've been waiting months for something to be repaired no one seems to know or care when I call to check on the glasses I paid $600 for that broke in less than a year. Everyone here is so helpful and accommodating - even for a picky customers like myself! I went back and forth over an extended period of time to try out my first prescription contact lenses and changed my mind several times unsure if I like seeing through them. I was never charged despite not making a commitment (amazing) and was given a fresh free eye exam when just recently I brought in frames to be paired with progressive lenses. Terrible customer service; lacking the ability to read eyeglass prescription. All items are not refundable, so they have my money. and I learned an expensive lesson. I just got a pair of frames today for a very good price it came with the cleanser for my frames. They were very attentive and patient, they helped me pick out frames that fit my facial structure, The optometrist had a great sense of humor and answered my concerns before I even asked which was pretty cool, the service was quick I got both pair of glasses same day in an hour. They fit tested my glasses as soon as they were ready to make sure it didn't fall off my face or were loose. The last vision center I visited didn't even do that unless I asked. I rarely give reviews but they are excellent! Very good price for a service you won't find anywhere. The doctor was very nice, as well as the lady who taught me how to put the contact lenses on. I was scared since this is the first time I'll be using contacts, but they are just so helpful and made everything so easy. I will definitely go back. This place is great!! I have been going here for two years. I don't typically visit eyeglass stores (I usually go online) but, this place is great. The guy who runs the place Ian is chill and cool. The doctor's treated me well and made sure my glasses were done well. Even after a mistake was made, they redid the glasses, and provided excellent prices unlike Cohen's fashion optical that does transitions glasses for $300-$400. Unlike other opticals I was able to get an eye exam the same day and at a reasonable price!! And as if that wasn't good enough they also give you free eyeglass cleaning solution free and adjustments. Long story long, I had been to all the big optical stores from Cohen's to Pildes and even Pearle vision, and had been very dissatisfied by not only the prices they were charging but also for the lack of customer service. Thank goodness I found Cocos vision, not only did I find the pricing to be fair but also the selection is quite thorough and complete. If for some reason they don't have what you are looking for they will get it for you!! Now 2 pairs of glasses and a set of contacts later I am not going elsewhere even if I move!! The staff at this small shop were a million times more professional, accommodating with better deals. I got contacts great exam never felt like they were up selling me or pushing me to buy anything I didn't want. The Dr. Took his time and really gave me options and the right prescription. Staff were patient and did their best to get me a good value. I don't have insurance now and this was cheaper and better quality and service than when I had insurance. Really give them a try! I am happy that most reviewers gave this place good ratings, but I unfortunately can't. I have bought four pairs of glasses and have had two eye exams over the past 5 years and the service has been outstanding. I don't know if ownership has changed, but clearly the personnel has. I went in the other day to have a nose pad fixed and to set up an appointment for an exam and new glasses. The woman behind the counter said it would take about 5 mins or so and I could wait. After approximately 15 minutes, I asked about my glasses and the woman went to check. Apparently the "technician" on duty at the time, a clearly befuddled woman, left my glasses in the back because they couldn't be fixed. I was advised to come back later in the afternoon. I was upset because I should have been told right up front that there was going to be a problem. And I began to wonder, if they can't get a nose pad replaced properly, then that doesn't bode well for the rest of the experience (exam, selection of frames and lenses, etc.) The entire staff at this location displayed not only a lack of adequate customer service, but little optical competency as well. I will be heading to the Astoria location for my future eyewear needs. read more

This is the best place to go and get your eyes checked. I found them on Yelp and reading these fantastic reviews; I decided to call in and get some information. Previously, I have called other places and founded that Coco had better customer service and prices. My health insurance doesn't cover my examination fee for contact, and it cost $50 to get the exam. Other places that I have called ranging from $100-130. I was hesitate at first, but I still decided to try it. The optometrist leaves slightly earlier, and when I called in, they said that he would leave at 7 pm, while the store closes at 8 pm. I was only my way hoping that I could make it on time. But, when I got here nobody was rushing trying to rush you out. The opposite happened, they took care of me and were very kind and gentle. The optometrist stayed later, and I was able to have my eyes checked. He was super friendly, and I told him that I also want to become an optometrist, and he explained the different function machines while also checking my eyes. He was very patient, and once he got my prescription, he helped me put my contacts on. It took a while, but he never lost patients on me. The challenge was that I needed to take the contacts off and put it back on to leave with them. I took it off fast, but it took forever trying to put them on again. It just was not going in, and one of the ladies was super helpful and even took off her glasses and let me see how to put her contacts on. However, it still took forever to put them back in. They were near closing, but they didn't rush me out and close down. Instead, they encourage me to keep trying, and it finally was in. Also, they also gave in a case to put my glasses in so I don't crush them. SUPER NICE. The next day, I had to return because I broke one of my contacts already. But they just gave me another pair with no charge at all. This will be the only place I will go, knowing that the people are super friendly and the prices are low but the service and products are excellent. I'm saddened to have to write this review, because the place is really cute and the sales associates were some of the most personable people I've seen at an optical business. I was referred here by a friend of mine to have an eye exam and get glasses. I went in and was greeted, and after I looked at the selection of glasses, I decided that this was the place I wanted to get my eyes checked at. Pricing was reasonable, and the sales girls were great. I'm a tad squeamish about eyes (I've never had my eyes checked before), and the girl that was working had a nice calming disposition. I was told by her to wait a few minutes so she can finish up something quickly and spend more time on me considering I'm a bit particular about things, when a man came up and started being SO rude to this girl! He was speaking so ill to her, treating her as if she were chopped liver. He's a young man, who probably is on some sort of power trip, and not for nothing, smelled like he just had 10 shots of alcohol. I understand reprimanding your staff if something is wrong, but the way he spoke to her was out of line. And because of that, I'm not going back there. The man (who I'm assuming is part of management) should be ashamed of himself. Nobody deserves to be spoken to in that manner. So unprofessional! read more
