I went in last month & got my eyes checked & bought a new pair of glasses. I had a great experience. However, this morning when I was putting my glasses on, I accidentally broke one of the arms off. I went back to the store in the pm and they were GREAT. They were fixing my glasses within 1 minute of my arriving; it took a total of about 5 minutes to fix; they cleaned the glasses for me and charged me NOTHING! This is what great service is all about. I've had glasses basically my whole life, and I've moved around a lot, so I've been to many eyeglasses shops. Jackson Heights Vision is by far my favorite. The facilities are clean and welcoming. Everyone is always so friendly and inviting. Angela Rodriguez, in particular, is a superstar. Recently, I purchased a pair of sunglasses from Angela. She was so helpful and accommodating. She really took care of me. I was so happy with the sunglasses and with the overall experience, I ended up purchasing a second pair. As before, she was very patient and attentive as we worked through the best fit. Truly, I'm so thrilled that this is my current go-to shop for eyewear. They're simply the best. I had cataract surgery several months ago and my doctor wanted to wait a bit before giving me a prescription for new glasses. I tried two of the big chains with success and decided to try Vision Center. They have a nice, pleasant store. I waited for a few minutes before Isias came over to help me out. He was pleasant and got right down to business. In fifteen minutes or so he helped me select frames for both regular and reading glasses. After taking measurements to ensure that the line of sight would be correct we finished. He told me the glasses would be ready in a week. Sure enough, in a week I received a phone call letting me know that my glasses would be ready. I went to get them and Susie helped me. Both sets of glasses are fine. This is the worst place ever. There is no point making an appointment. We had our appointment for 3:30pm. We got there at 3pm and we still had to wait for 3 hours. When asked the lady said 15 more minutes and 30min later still waiting. Go to coco vision or anyother eyecenters around. You can just walk in and get your job done in minutes. read more

My wife went in for some lenses and frames after going to the eye doctor. The gentlemen who took care of us Alvaro gave us all the options, explained to us our choices. The prices seemed a little high. We shopped around to some of the other Optical in the area, 5 places near by to be exact. They all gave us lower prices. With that said non of the other places took there time to explain to us with detail about the different options for lenses. Some places were as much as 400 lower in price because they have the lenses made and they put the coating on in the store. I read the review here, but decided to try this optical office anyway since it looks more updated than others in the hood. Eye Doctor, Dr. Chen, a young Chinese lady is great. Knowledgable, resourceful, and courteous. Got eye exam right at the time of appointment. I visited the office couple times for inquiry regarding insurance, appointment, exam, brought in my own sunglasses (I didn't pick any glasses from there, after a couple try-ons), and pick up. Service was quick. It takes only one day for the lens to be ordered and done. Lens were cut perfectly. Nice and clean premise. Receptions and customer service persons are great, some are okay, and of course not rude as I read from reviews (each time was with different girls). Oh...thanks to one of the sales guy, who offered my puppies a cup of cold water. That was a nice touch. Base on my experience, I am happy with it. I do not have anything else to ask for. It is not very subservient pleased like you were boarding the plane and being greeted by flight attendants, but it is way better service than many others out there. Surely they deserve better rating to be fair. read more

I'm surprised by some of the less favorable reviews. I don't live in the area, but have been working in Jackson Heights frequently, and so have had the occasion to stop by twice. I popped in on a whim about a week ago as my glasses (which I only use minimally) had become ill-fitting. I asked if an adjustment could be make to help them to fit my face better. The woman at the desk stepped away and came back mere moments later with my frames, having adjusted them to a perfect fit. I asked to pay and she indicated it was complimentary. (It should be noted that I did not get the glasses here, nor had I ever been there for vision care.) The whole thing took under 10 minutes and was a nice walk-in favor. Following that, I realized my license was expiring and I needed a vision test. I'm also about to get a new set of frames (elsewhere) and needed to update my prescription. I was a bit wary about visiting this spot, as the reviews seemed lackluster, but my experience had been the opposite (plus it's very convenient location for me), so I figured I'd at least get their prices (I don't have vision on my insurance). I inadvertently called the Astoria location to get price quotes and to make an appt. After realizing my mistake and calling back to cancel, I decided just to pop in to the Jackson Heights location to see about making an appointment. The gentleman behind the desk greeted me warmly. Quoted me the exact same price as the Astoria location had, which (as of this review) was $55 for the exam and $25 for the DMV vision test and electronic filing. Very reasonable. I filled out info and waited about 15 min before the Optometrist was able to see me. She was also incredibly friendly and thoroughly performed all the basic testing, also noting two more specific issues pertaining to my overall eye health. While these were not urgent matters, she was able to give me additional advice and recommend further action I might take, which would be covered by my insurance. I asked for a specialist recommendation which she was able to provide. It was a very comfortable experience and I felt I was receiving quality care. I didn't purchase frames/lenses here (nor was I ever pressured to do so, which I worried might happen), though they do have a large selection. The facilities were clean and professional, the staff was sincerely inviting, and I would absolutely recommend the expedient and affordable services. There are many vision care providers in the area, and I would return to Jackson Heights Vision Center without hesitation. read more

I came here to try to find new frames. I was previously going to an eyeglasses store in Rockland, where the customer service was not so great. Their frame selection was also very small. I was seen as soon as I walked in. I had my prescription ready so one of the female workers took me around the store to look for frames. I picked out the ones that I fell in love with and I got the call the very next day telling me my glasses were ready. Really happy with the customer service and how fast they were. They were also not pushing me to try to purchase the most expensive frames but rather what I wanted. I would highly recommend! They also have a lot of frames to choose from. read more

I am not a person to give bad reviews but I don't want you guys to experience what I did today. I went in there for contact lens examination with an appointment. I was there 5mins early. But finally I got to see my doctor after 30mins wait. It was all going fine, my doctor was Dr.Ines Fernandez. She gave me one trial lens which was close to my prescription Since they were OUT OF my prescription. I told her I don't see perfect but it's close and if I could get few of the same lens until they can order my real prescription. Then she gave me to try another lens and ask me to throw the one which I ask her to give me. Which was weird. But I did just the way she asked me to! The second one was sooooooo horrible. I couldn't see anything. When I told her its blurry her answer was "you are taking too long." Jeez!!! she was so mean all of sudden and said she has different patient to see! WOW!! She is the worst doctor ever!! She is literally there just for money! She don't care about your wellbeing. Plus the staffs!! Ugh I had such a long argue and they didn't even apologize. Rude!!'!! The staff is extremely rude. Instead of helping me find frames that worked for my face shape the assistant decided she was going to go have a conversation with some other staff member. I had to tell her to come back and help me which she did grudgingly. I've never been treated like that before. This place is the worst!! I bought a pair of glasses there and i didn't realize a screw was missing. I called them back to send the screw with my mother because they messed her glasses up. They cut he lens short and then told her if anything happens call us. Anyways back to me, I was out on hold for 5 minutes every time I was out on hold. The staff here is so rude. They always look down on you. It's always loud and the wait is always long. They have kids running around, I know they shouldn't control the kids but they can tell the guardians to calm their kids down. Never ever going back. Waste of my time and my money. I bought my kid's first pair of glasses here when he was 5 years old. When I returned a year later for his new glasses I had new insurance. The guy who was "helping" me could not find our insurance in the computer. When I asked him to try again as I was sure he must have entered something wrong he told me to "return when I had confirmed my coverage with the company as he had a lot of other customers waiting." I've been going to Jackson Heights Vision Center for years for my glasses. They have a really nice selection of frames in all price ranges, and stylish- including high end brands if that's what you're looking for. I go there because their eye exams are thorough, the prescriptions and measurements are accurate. The service is excellent and they take time to assist you in finding the frames that you'll be happy with, and within your price range. I've only had positive experiences with this business which is why I keep returning. ( I haven't yet had any glasses that the prescriptions and/or lenses were inaccurate like my two other Big Box Stores experiences whose names rhyme with Bohen's, and Men's Rafters.) Today I went to the shop for a new pair of glasses and James, as usual, went above and beyond to help me. He has assisted my husband, and my 18 year old son, also, in the past. I'm not one to go to the eye doctor every year for an eye exam. However, my eyeglasses broke 2 weeks ago and I decided to go to the Jackson Heights vision center. First let me say the store is very clean and has a wide variety of frames to choose from. I came on a Sunday and it was busy but I was able to be seen within 30 minutes of my arrival. While I was waiting for the eye doctor, I went to look at the frames and was helped by Irina. She was very nice and patient and did not rush me through my selection process. I chose a beautiful frame at a very good price. Afterwards, I was called in by Dr. Fernandez. It was the most efficient and through exam I have had. She told me that I was developing sun spots on my eyes and needed to wear sunglasses if I spend long days outside in the sun. No other eye doctor has mentioned that to me in my previous eye exams. At the end of the exam she gave me a trial frame with my new prescription to make sure I was comfortable with my vision... Again never had trial glasses with any other eye doctor before. Thanks to Dr. Fernandez, I came out of the exam much more educated about the health of my eye and what I needed to do to protect them. Never once did I feel rushed even though the store was busy. I am very happy with my visit and would strongly recommend others to come here for their eye vision needs. read more
