i went there because of my insurance. the eye exam went well. however I brought my own frames 800 dollar ones. the lenses were covered by my insurance. mysteriously my frames were missing. when I got the email my glasses were ready I went there to br a 2 dollar pair of glasses with my prescription. They have designer frames and affordable frames so you have options. There is a doctor on the premises so you can get your eyes checked if you wish. I needed an appointment and this location had a lot of availability. It's located in a congested part of queens and no parking lot. I called to reschedule because I was late due to my GPS not finding the actual location. When I called I explained that I was late due to GPS and parking, boom I found a parking right away. From the moment I walked in EVERY staff member was nice and helpful and they were a bit busy. I was seen within a few minutes. Did my tests and met with the doctor. He was very thorough. Went for an eye appointment at the end of the year and was able to renew and update my prescriptions for both my glasses and contact lenses. Rosanna was super helpful in assisting with figuring out the most value efficient way to use my insurance premium to purchase my glasses and a supply of contact lenses for the year. In addition she provided excellent customer service when I returned a few weeks later to adjust the nose piece and arms as my glasses kept sliding down my nose. I would come here again. This location is easy to get to and they do a lot of volume. They had more frames in my price range than other places and I really appreciate that. I couldn't afford anything fashionable and they still had options for me in different colors / sizes / shapes. Best of all - my glasses came in a week later and I can actually see better out of them. The only problem I had was with "Amelia" the Computerized Assistant that answers the phone. Its just a waste of time for customers. They are frames for every price point, and the staff (esp. Madeline) offer great advice for finding a frame that fits your face. Don't go there is you are a black man, those hispanics will have you waiting and on top of it do not send a confirmation after wanting to reschedule. My time is very important to me and travelling there is no easy task since i am not from the borough, i even called to say i am running late due to traffic and parking. Came back and they had me waiting while others just came and went. I wouldnt put anything behind me since many hispanics are racist towards black people and especially black men. I went into visionworks for eye exam explained how my previous pair cost 500 with no insurance. They said they could do better. They charged me 1100 in which the insurance company picked up500 i had to pay the rest. The were not worth it. I told them i had sinus problems needed light weight the frames are heavy but lenses are thin..usless. they need adjustment on a weekly basis. I have better things to do with my time. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant to come back to this place because the doctor I saw was less than pleasant during my 1st visit (I'll refrain from saying who because I hope they were just having a bad day). But I needed new glasses and contacts and everyone deserves a 2nd chance. The staff was extremely helpful (they were the 1st time as well) and allowed me enough time to pick out a pair of frames. They never rushed me and explained all the costs, broke down all the charges. This place is extremely clean. I watched them disinfect everything with alcohol before letting a patient use it. I saw Dr. Boruhova. She was very friendly and gentle. Very encouraging when I was reading the letters. I was very happy with the service today. From the moment, I scheduled my appointment, they were very accommodating and I liked that! It's hard to find parking around this area, the mall parking comes handy. I had a bad experience with the doctor, the staff, and their process of doing things. I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt, but every time I cam back to follow up or to speak on the phone, they didn't seem to have great customer service at all. The first time doctor rushed me out of their and you know what i let it slide because i was 4 mins late....but the second time i came back i was early and she still did the same thing. She doesn't explain anything. Now for the staff in the front, I called asking for my prescription telling them I was going to pick it up at the end of the day and she said okay...I appear and my prescription was no where tl be found and another staff said that I need the doctor to sign off on it. Well why didn't the lady over the phone mention that?! And not only that they or the vendor they used messed up my order. You would think they would do a quicker shipping for the error they made. I'm just fed up with this place because i tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because you know we all have our bad days but no this was way too many occurrences.
