This business is unprofessional & unbarely unhelpful. December 5, Thursday, 2019. 4:00pm. My Ray-ban frames have broken yet, my lens are still in good condition. At the desk, I gave them and asked what I can do about it under my insurance. The lady (dark brown hair with glasses) said okay and told me to take a seat. I've been in this seat for the past 45 minutes and it's about to close. The customers that came after me went BEFORE me, maybe it was because I was Asian and looked younger and looked stupid because of my puffy jacket. Avoid this location. read more

I recently came to Grand Spectacle for an eye exam and glasses. Nothing but positive vibes from my experience here. The staff was warm and welcoming and helped me figure out my vision benefits from UFT. The eye doctor was great!!! My glasses are sitting im the drawer. I cannot wear them, it feels like my eye is trying to look all the way to one side, everything looks distorted. I went back about 10 times. I was told to come back later, come back in an hour, come back tomorrow. Twice I saw Steve, but he did not fix the lens. For wht they charged- $850 with $150 from my insurance, I would expect to have glasses I can use. I will never go there again. If I could give NO stars, I would. read more

I got a wrong prescription two consecutive times even though I complained the first time. I am not sure if I can blame the doctor for the second time because I am confident that the women working there did not resend the lenses to be changed.....My glasses felt the same the second time. And I paid for the second pair out of pocket. After struggling with my new glasses for five months, I decided to see another eye-doctor who gave me a correct prescription and new glasses. I tried to complain, but it is not possible to get in touch with the right person. Anyway, who runs that horrible place? Those women with dirty nails and oily hair working there are so ignorant, unprofessional, and rude. They call patients "mommy", and leave them waiting while they talk on the phone with their amigas. But they are so conceited and important because they work in a doctor's office even though for a minimum wage. Also, the place is extremely dirty (mind for the carpet and bathroom. THE BEST! Seriously, I've been getting contacts and glasses from this location for the past 3 decades. Not only is their customer service phenomenal, they are extremely helpful when it comes to navigating insurance and rebates. Please please pleaseeeee got to these folks for all your optical needs. Their glasses selections are on point, ranging from very affordable to super bougie. AND they're amazing with contacts and walk you through everything you need to know and learn about using them. I make my way up to Queens every year (and as needed for prescription refills) all the way from Philly. 1000% worth and I cannot say enough good things about this lovely group of people making sure I can see the world in 20/20. I'm new to the neighborhood and needed a place to do my DMV vision test. It's a very nice place, the receptionist who took care of me was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor was very quick with the test and I was done in less than 5 minutes, cannot get any better. If I ever need new eyeglasses, I will certainly consider Grand Spectacle Opticians. read more

I found this place by yelp and I'm glad I did. They provided my daughter excellent service, I don't remember the names of the ladies that took care of her but they where so nice and patient. They accepted a lot if insurances and have a big selection to chose from :) read more

Dr. White is very personable. He exhibits true care for the well being of patients. He made me feel so comfortable that I didn't even lie about how bad my Contact habits of use truly are, as I have to every other doctor. I appreciated not being scolded. He made the exam fun. His staff were knowledgable about my healthcare plan and helped me make affordable choices while presenting and explaining all the options clearly. He is conveniently located next to a Duane Reade so getting my prescription drops filled was super easy. (I used the Duane Reade parking lot even though that was a risk) I look forward to my next appointment happily instead of with dread. The only reason I gave only 4stars is for 2 reasons. Dr. White is only at this location on Saturdays and every other Thursdays. And their glasses selection seems sparse but I noticed he only keeps the latest styles, brands and trends in the cases. read more

I had a horrible experience at this store. The optician and exam people were very rude. The optician asked me how old I was and was making insulting remarks about my age. It was as if they didnt want my business. I had to wait 2 weeks for my glasses. I was told I had an astigmatism which is totally not true. I ended up paying double what I should have paid. (which I learned later) I paid $1800 for progressives. I had bare bones frames with no coatings nothing else special. the cheapest frames they could offer. I was totally ripped off I learned later. I guess because of my "special condition" and why it took so long. It should have cost me no more than $600 all together. This place is a total rip off. And they are very rude. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. You will save your self the time, money and aggravation. I will never go to this optician again. Ever. And I strongly advise you do not go there. I felt totally personally humiliated. Yes, I should have walked out. But I was so desperate to get glasses to see. I needed them so badly. read more
