The appointment was smooth, the staff was efficient and explained the pre tests being conducted. Once I was with the doctor he was attentive and did a through examination. I've been going here for a few years for my daughter , the optometrists are the reason I kept going back . I have never been crazy about the sales person Michael he has no patience and just cares about making a sale . I purchased glasses here April 2024 , two months later screw is loose and hinge comes off we go to repair them no problem they tighten the screw . A month later the hinge breaks , I'm told by Michael oh well they're cheaply made . When I bought them I wasn't told they were cheaply made , they have a One year warranty and basically he just shrugged his shoulders and dismissed me . So my daughter has had them taped for several months now . As we're coming up to her one year mark when she needs an exam and new glasses . I will absolutely not go back to MK , I can not send my daughter to college in the fall with glasses that wouldn't late three months . read more

i would rate it 0 stars months ago i had my prescription here no problem several months later i got new lens and they somehow misdiagnose my exam i come again for them to fix it turns out i have astigmatism & they couldn't test it & i went to purevision optical on queens blvd by 67th ave & they were able to diagnose my astigmatism & turns out i needed prism lens ... this place failed my eyes for MONTHS i was seeing double vision & just taking my money without a new proper exam giving me attitude after spending literally 2,000 dollars here 3 different lens all double vision .... they have no idea what they're doing here they just want your money read more

UPDATE: MK Vision read the review and reached out timely. Someone from the store and their customer support dept. called to try to resolve this. I appreciate and give them credit for this. 3 Stars Like many others that commented here, we have been MK Vision customers since they first opened in Forest Hills. Prior to for decades, we went to their sister stores in Manhattan and Flushing. Service has certainly gone way downhill. A young saleswoman quoted us a price for a pair of glasses. We asked for a loyal customer discount so she goes to the female manager. The manager comes back raises the price a bit and then comes down resulting in the same original price. What kind of BS is that? Normally, we would try to negotiate some more but, her attitude was just so poor, we just couldn't deal with it. We will take our business elsewhere. Hopefully, someone with the authority to make changes reads these reviews. If not, there's lots of competition on Austin Street. read more

highly recommend went in was greeted great customer service and told them my insurance and what my budget range was they broke down it all the total cost of everything im paying for how much my insurance covered . picked out lenses that cost about $250 after the eye exam and all the cost i paid $168 out of pocket i wasn't looking for anything fancy just need prescriptions to see ... they said it will be done in 10 business days okay no problem not more than an hour this whole process took. read more

I've been coming to MK Vision for a couple years now and always have great experiences. The optometrist Dr. Jet Ruttanasee is always very informative, patient, and thorough. Being that Covid is still around, he made sure that I could see him wipe down all equipment with alcohol before having me use them. The consultant, Jenny, is always so helpful, patient, and sweet. She doesn't make me feel rushed or push sales down my throat like many other optical centers do. She answered all questions I had and provided me with best options being that my insurance was giving me issues. I've been going to MK vision on Austin street for about 10 years. While Jet is a wonderful optometrist, the management and customer services have declined significantly over the years. Most recently, I have had to wait three months for my new glasses and make three different trips back to the location due to the issues with my lenses where they were to blame. This is despite fully paying for my new glasses on the first visit in April, paying in advance for services not met and product not recieved even now in June. You also have to pay for them to fix their own mistakes - mistakes that are being made because they're not being transparent about changes and upgrades to the manufacturer which is causing low quality lenses to be produced. Michael specially is extremely RUDE, CONDESCENDING, AND UNPROFESSIONAL. They also lie constantly, they'll say something to you and email something else and when you call back they wouldn't admit to what was already verbally agreed on. They also talk in circles so you're never given a clear answer. He's also married to the manager so good luck trying to escalate any issues, they're useless! If you want your lenses without issues and would like to not waste your own time and money on subpar services I recommend going somewhere else, anywhere would be better guaranteed and you wouldn't have to be treated unfairly and like utter garbage! Update: I went to another optical to check my lenses and was told I didn't even have crizal on them even though that's what I was told was on it and that's what I paid for by MK. Beware of the fact you may not get what you think you're getting here. I spoke to numerous people who also go to MK and every single person had an issue. Ended up returning my glasses and will not be going back. read more

Horrible service. Went in to get an eye exam and am older male asked me if i needed help. I asked him if they took my insurance and he looked at the card and said, we dont take it and turns around and says nothing else. This is not the first time im there before they moved to the new location. Guy didnt even offer me any alternative options such as maybe getting a free exam upon purchase of glasses, nothing! I turned around and i left. Ended up going to a near optical called Station Square eyes right after. As soon as i walked in, they actually looked at my insurance and i made an appointment for an eye exam and purchased a pair of glasses yesterday . Do not waste your time at MK Vision, they don't seem interested in customers/ customer service at all!! read more

I had pretty good experience before with this store, I got my contact lenses and two pairs of glasses in it in the last 6 years. but not this time, I am sorry that I didn't give you 5 star review before, so I average down to 3 star this time. they might accidentally destroy my premium lens coating. the clerk there was trying very hard to find a new frame to replace my old broken and discontinued RB frame, because I did love the lenses(digital with all kinds of coating), and they did an excellent work to find a pair of Oliver peoples, but when I get back my glasses back, they told me there were some scratches, I thought it was normal that 3 year old glasses had some scratches, and I did notice there were some water stain, I thought I could wipe it out easily, however, I found out it was the peeling off coating. I don't have the evidence that my old glasses didn't have the coating peeling off before they replaced the frame, but my lenses were always shining and clear after washing them with hand soap and the peeling off sign is so obvious that I couldn't miss. read more

The wait is long for a routine eye exam- over an hour! No social distancing enforced! The sign on the window said 6 people max. But there was 12 people in the store and counting. Not a safe place to go during the pandemic. And they make you wait a ridiculous amount of time for an eye exam. read more

The owner/older male was extremely pushy and rude. I would not come back. Sometimes people just want to go in and try on glasses it doesn't mean we want to automatically buy. I felt very pressured to buy and pay right away. Ontop of that the glasses seem overpriced. Not recommended. read more

My sons teacher mentioned that he complained of not seeing the board in class and may need glasses. I took him to MK Vision as it was where I also got my glasses. This was my sons first eye check up and he was excited pretty much during the whole experience. He enjoyed looking through all the equipment and trying on different frames. The tried going there, there was no store by that name. I tried calling and nobody picks up. They already charged my card and now they are not picking up phone. Very bad service! read more

I wanted to support a local (even Asian) business during Covid. Needed to get my eyes checked and have a pair of prescription sunglasses made for the summer. Had a great experience my first visit with the optician and Michael. Service was friendly and attentive, and I was told my sunglasses would be ready in a week. After 3 calls to check in on the progress of my sunglasses over 2 weeks, I was finally told that they were ready to be picked up, but didn't receive an email or a text. Given Covid, I can forgive the fabrication delay. Not so easy to forget was the dismissive/rude service I got when I picked up my sunglasses. I was grilled by the guy on duty (could have been Michael again but wasn't sure with the face mask on) about whether I received an email or text (no), and was given a hard time when I wanted to step out of the store for a minute to test drive the new sunglasses in the sun. Bear in mind, I had already paid $300+ for the sunglasses 2 weeks earlier, so its no skin off this guy's teeth for me to step outside the store for a minute. Let's just say that Austin Street has enough optician options that I won't be forced to return to MK. read more

I absolutely love it here. The staff is amazing and they always make me feel like a superstar when I walk in. Honestly, this is the BEST place to get your glasses from. I've literally been coming here since the year 2012. No matter what burrough I'm in, I will always travel to this location. Inside is very neat and clean even before Covid happened. The store has a good collection of glasses at competitive prices - compared to the nearby competitors. Unfortunately, although it was in-network of my insurance, the manager convinced me that I had to go by reimbursement. Having good faith, I complied, only to realize that some items were not covered. I ended up having to pay for about $100 for those. I can only hope that this was only genuinely uninformed advice from their side. Had I known those items were not covered, I would have probably made a different decision. The shop failed to open on time for about 15 minutes, when I was going to collect the spectacles. I came here with one of my colleagues two weeks ago. She was looking to get prescription lenses for her Ray Ban Club-master glasses. The staff were very patient and thorough throughout the entire process. My colleague also arrived a tad late for her eye appointment but MK Vision was very flexible about letting her see the eye doctor. Other stuff: -There are a whole bunch of designer and non-designer brands but everything is overpriced, imo. -Prescription lenses cost $90 or more depending on if you have an add-on. -Contact lenses* here are cheaper compared to another place I got mine from. In addition it's Bi-weekly, not weekly and is sold in 6 month supply batches. However, it's a different brand from mine: (Acuvue Oasys VS Biosphere 55- the one I use; Acuvue dries my eyes out) *optical stores normally let customers try on contact lenses. If you do try something on and your eyes feel uncomfortable, then don't settle. Ask if there's a different brand. Also, glasses and contact lenses prescriptions are completely different. TL;DR: Excellent service and knowledgeable staff who are willing to assist you for any of your optical needs. However, some products may be overpriced. read more

STAY AWAY FROM MK Vision center!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!! The only positive experience was Dr. Jay. Rest of staff are joke. Especially the person by the name Ray who suppose to "help" you. My wife and I ordered glasses with the Crizal lenses. We received the glasses and the lenses that were not Crizal while Ray "guarantied" that they are authentic. No authentication card. We tried ID "Fog test" and of course no Crizal logo appeared on the lenses. SCAMMERS! read more
