Very knowledgeable doctor, always very nice , answers all my questions! Would highly recommend this practice!

Our family has been seeing Dr. Cai and her team for the past two years, and we absolutely adore them. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient--they help facilitate the entire process, place orders, and even patiently answer all questions- yeah... some of questions are just non sense....They do a great job managing the office, even making sure patients don't "accidentally walk straight" into Dr. Cai's office! Dr. Cai is an exceptional doctor. Her approach is direct and honest--when she tells you that you need glasses, she means it. There's no sugarcoating, and I truly appreciate that about her. She's knowledgeable, straightforward, and truly cares about her patients. One time, my child lost her Ortho-K lens over the weekend, and Dr. Cai responded to our message even outside office hours. I have been coming to Dr Cai for couple years, she's been professional and nice however, I got the worst experience with her today. I have changed the insurance and she was telling me how little reimbursement that she got from the insurance with the paper work that she had to do. She starts being rude and sarcastic with our causal conversation which we usually had . The whole visit made me very uncomfortable. Make sure you have good insurance before you go to her otherwise she treats you differently!!!! read more

I saw Dr. Cai for a routine eye exam and was pleased that I was able to get a last-minute appointment. Also, I was in the exam chair within minutes of my appointment time. While I appreciated the thoroughness of the exam, I thought Dr. Cai could have done a better job at listening to my questions/comments. She was sarcastic and somewhat condescending and preoccupied with countering or invalidating my statements (i.e., my experiences with retinal imaging, use of eyedrops, etc.). On the other hand, she appeared to be efficient and competent. And her office is in a decent location. read more

I came here twice. The first time I went a couple years ago, I thought the doctor was rude and didn't have the time in the day for me but I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she had a busy work day which is understandable. For the second visit last month, I decided to go to her again since it was under my insurance and wanted to give it another chance due to the recent promising reviews. I regretted it because I was given the same exact treatment again- she was condescending, curt, and seemed to not have enough time in the day for me. I get the impression that she assumes I don't know much. Usually I can take on this type of demeanor and I'll move on with my day, but what irked me was when she acted much nicer to another customer who was at the front desk picking up glasses for his family. The way she spoke to him was respectful and kind. Just by observing that interaction, I'm not surprised she has great reviews on her Yelp or Google reviews. However, I unfortunately did not share that same experience. I must say the front desk was super nice though. She clearly communicated about contacts prices as well as addressed my concern regarding a prescription prescribed by the doctor which I thought was too intense by the way. If I had to rate the front desk I'd give her 10/10. I can't say the same for the doctor though. read more

I used to take my daughter to see doctor in the past. But gradually her office become overbooked and the quality of advice has been deteriorated. Dr. Cai was super friendly and thorough. Lived up to the hype! What's most important in an optometrist is someone super competent, and she did testing that none of my past optometrists have done for my own exams. She also said when she watches movies she notices the eye defects of the actors. That's hardcore lol. You want someone like that examining your eyes. Their selection of glasses is also huge. Dr Jing Cai is great! It's far from me, but I take the trip because she is knowledgeable, personable and friendly. She takes her time, gets to know her patients, and does not rush her consults. She's through with her examinations, and takes the time to provide options for the client. They have some frames available, they take insurance and they are open for pick up on Saturday's (if arranged in advance). Place is clean, and they accept most insurance! read more

Picked up my glasses today. Quite happy. Always happy with dr Cai's wide selection of frames. She also has high tech equipment for ortho-k exams. She provides lenses and glasses for young children to adults. She's specifically licensed in children's glasses and ortho-k lenses. She also does exams for regular contact lenses. The doctor is very knowledgeable. If you ask her any question, she will answer you with very informative answers. Dr. Cai has been very nice to me and my family. She never changed me for anti-glare service on glasses. I'm very appreciative and grateful for what she has done for me and my children. read more

I did an eye exam with the contact lens. Dr. Cai sent a pair of contact lens to the restroom without any cleaning solution and tools for my wearing contact lens even though I requested some cleaning tools but in vain. I stood in front of sink and face the mirror to wear it. I was surprise her service and submitted total charge $360 to my insurance. Eventually, I paid $60 out-of-pocket and got 4 pairs of contact lens. Don't mention how I experienced such horrible optometrist. read more

So I'm a DC37 member and our union Vision Center was closed down in 2017. I was in search for a OD to replace out prior OD doctor. I asked a co-worker and was told she goes to Dr. Cai so I got her information and Called to make an appointment. One of the first things you may notice is that she is youthful, but don't let that deceive you regarding her scope of knowledgeable. As others have said and I will affirm she has quite a good beside manners as an eye doctor. She listens, assesses the situation and she communicates clearly and knowledgeably to your specific situation. Second I say the office is neat, tidy and well organized. When I go to a restaurant you check the bathroom to see how tidy it is and usually it reflects how clean the kitchen is. Her office is immaculate and well organized. How well she takes care of you is expressed in how well she takes care of her office and equipment which she uses to care and examine you. On top of that I noticed while waiting for her to finish off with the patient before me was her discussion. There is a genuineness in how she speak and deals with her patients and also a concern in all aspects of you as a patient and her care for your needs. She is knowledgeable about the various insurance coverage, union plans and suggests options to work with your specific situation. Her office provides every aspect of eye care. From exam to eye wear selection all within one office. Keep in mind she also does contacts too. If you go to her you won't want to go anywhere else. read more

I've found my forever optometrist! I was on my last pair of contacts in addition to needing an annual eye exam and didn't have a regular optometrist/ophthalmologist so I went on yelp to look for one after not successfully finding one on zocdoc. Called the office and easily made an appointment for a few days after when I found out Dr. Cai took my insurance. Easy to find office with lots of street parking. My appointment was made for a Tuesday at 10AM and when I showed up at 9:55AM, I was informed that there was a slight delay in time which I later found out was because the patient before me showed up the same time as me but her appointment was booked for 30 minutes earlier. Needless to say, I didn't wait too long. Maybe 20 minutes at the most? Wasn't even paying attention haha. Very clean waiting room and exam room. Dr. Cai was very knowledgeable, sweet, approachable, respectful and patient with me and all my questions. Not once did I feel rushed to leave or feel stupid for asking questions. I also love the fact that I didn't feel pressured at all to buy contacts or glasses from her! I wasn't sure what my patient ID was and she called up the insurance, found out for me and even gave me the ID number for future visits (I assume if I were to get my eyes checked elsewhere). I felt the exam was very thorough and she would always tell you what to expect. After the exam, she placed the order for my contacts and there was an error in the ordering system so she told me she would call me if the order went through or if it didn't go through so I could try to get the contacts elsewhere (I told her I was thinking of getting them at Costco). Well, guess what, the order went through and the contacts arrived at her office that very Friday! Picked them up Saturday morning. In conclusion, I would highly recommend Dr. Cai as an optometrist. I already recommended a friend and my mother to her (who speaks Mandarin and not much English). I even heard the patient before me exclaim how happy she was with Dr. Cai and that she herself would refer her friends and family to her as well. read more

She's a very sweet and approachable lady and her office made me feel at home. I had originally brought my friend to check out her place because of a reoccurring eye issue and despite the rarity of my friend's symptoms, the doctor was able to treat her and cure my friend of her issue. The doctor is also fluent in English and Mandarin so I had also recommended her to my family members (who speak more fluently in Chinese) as soon as I had left. Dr. Cai is the most personable and caring doctor I have ever found. It is so easy to schedule appointments, the wait is short if any, and she is fun to talk to. She understands my concerns very easily and doesn't only go "straight by the book/scripted answers", she uses experience and knowledge to answer my questions. I went there, loved the experience so much I recommended her to my bf and his family, and now we all go there. She's always so helpful that even if we don't have an appointment but have glasses/eye issues she lets us drop by. I was very pleasantly surprised when she didn't push any specific products on me, she tells me that if I find better prices online with the same quality I should get those instead.She even offered to check the products (contacts) for me if I decide to order elsewhere. It is rare one finds a doctor rated 5 stars by virtually everyone. So when I needed a new prescription I figured I give Dr. Cai a try. She has a great personality, knows what she is doing, and is happy to answer questions. I didn't realize that her office sells glasses. So I came back on another day, and she helped me pick a pair. The prescription was quickly filled. Months later I had an eye issue and needed to be dilated. Dr. Cai couldn't do it because of the COVID restrictions, but she found me a doctor that could. What impressed me was that she cared about my eye health and recommended me a pair of contact lenses that would help with my dry eyes. I've moved a lot and tried different optometrists, most would just update my prescription and use whatever contact lenses the previous eye doctor prescribed me. Simply amazing, I went in earlier today 7/2/19, with severe discomfort in my left eye. The night prior, I somehow got something stuck in my eye & the discomfort consisted all night and all day, until my eye was constantly watery and swollen, as well as red. I came in as an emergency and was immediately looked at. Found out, I had scratches on my eye. Got antibiotics and lubricated eye drops to help the healing process. I would 10/10 recommend this place any day of the week! read more

I've had an eye infection for 2 months , I was using eye wash , eye drops , and I went to my doctor and they gave me a ointment .. all didn't work! Until I searched and found Dr. Cai! Dr. Cai is just a wonderful doctor. I used to go to the larger store chains for glasses and a check up but I would normally feel rushed, and they lacked the personal touch. I went to see Dr. Cai to get new glasses and receive recommendation for contact lenses since mine were giving me dry eyes and allergic symptoms. Dr. Cai listened thoroughly and gave helpful feedback.
