Was locked out of my house and needed someone to come open our door. I wrote "locked out of my house" in my inquiry of the quote and just as another reviewer mentioned, I was quoted a lower price which is why I called him in the first place. When inquired on the phone he said it didn't sound like I was requesting for a door to be opened because I was locked out and requoted me over the phone, $140 to unlock my door. I went to Nova because I was going on less than 10% battery so didn't have the time to call around and look for service elsewhere. Others I had inquired about after seemed to quote around $100. He also said he'd be at my house in 30 min but ended up being around 50 minutes before he arrived. He did get the door unlocked pretty simply so there's that. read more

Can we just take a second and recognize how embarrassing it is to have to call a locksmith because you locked yourself out of your own home? Well, I recently moved into a new apartment that locks the door behind you when it shuts. On my way out to dinner, I did the whole, "mask, wallet, phone" check and realized the keys were INSIDE the apartment. I figured because it was an apartment/condo that maybe the property manager would have a key. I had an emergency situation and needed to have some locks re-keyed asap. Alex came out in under an hour and was able to re-key the locks in about the same time. I've had locks re-keyed before, and I was immediately impressed when he asked, "How many keys are you going to need?" Most locksmiths just give you 1 or 2 keys and tell you to go somewhere else for more keys. I have a newer gate and a really old door. He was familiar enough with both locks to be able to re-key them really quickly. It's been almost a week, and we've had no issues with the locks. Everything works great. Really nice guy and quality locksmith, but he ruined the hardwood floor around the door and didn't even respond when we texted him about it, so we unfortunately do not recommend leveraging his services. More context: Alex updated our front door lock from a mortise to standard lock. The residue he used got all over the floor around the door. He didn't mention any floor covering was needed prior to his arrival, so we didn't have anything beyond some old boxes to try to use. He did his best to clean up along the way, but some of the residue got through and left large white circles all over the entryway flooring. Both our house cleaner and we tried to relentlessly scrub and clean it to no avail, so the flooring will need to be refinished. This could have been easily avoided so it's very frustrating. Most of all, I'm shocked he wouldn't he even respond to our text about it. Disappointing to say the least. read more
