My tenant had an issue with the door lock, he wasn't able to lock it so he reached out to a random locksmith that he found online, the locksmith came and told him that he can't do much to fix it and that he will need to buy a different brand lock online and call him to install it when he gets it. Our basement door was broken into overnight and we needed a locksmith to replace the lock. Based on the positive reviews here, I called Alex from Nova who was very polite and responsive and promised to send out "somebody that works for him" to fix it. That somebody wound up being from a completely different company (based upon the company name on the van), which is okay, but I found the pricing to be arbitrary and high. He quoted me $279 for a new lock and $121 for a metal door plate. All in (with tax and the service fee) it came $467. Granted, I agreed to the price beforehand and accept responsibility. And, he did a good job. However, spending close to $500 for a simple lock and door plate seems like extortion to me. He was literally working on it for less than 45 minutes. My advice is if you want to use Nova, ask if Alex will be the one doing the work. read more
