I locked myself out of my apartment at 9:15pm on a Saturday night ‍. I browsed yelp and Nova Locksmith had the highest review count, so figured they'd be pretty experienced with my basic door knob lock. When I called, I was told it would be $185 for one simple lock. It was higher than usual because it's late/weekend and someone could be over in 20 min. They came 30 min later and it took 10-15 min to convince him the apartment was mine to access and 1 hr to bump/pick the lock (he says it took a long time because the lock is old/used a lot). He ended up charging an extra $25 because it took him longer than he expected (even though it was the same basic lock he expected when it was quoted), which I did not dispute, but think it should have been mentioned in the upfront quote. Was happy to not have to drill & replace the lock! read more

Quick, easy and reliable. Showed up faster than my landlord could send a handyman to let me into my apartment. Additionally very friendly!

Alex fixed our front gate. His service is excellent. He patiently walks you through what he's doing, and he even fixed a damaged part of the gate I wasn't even aware of. He keeps you up to date on scheduling, super professional. Already booked more work with him on another part of the building. read more

Super quick and professional. I can only recommend Nova Locksmith should you lock yourself out or need any other services.

Alex is great: super good communicator, very fast response, knows his stuff, and clears up after himself. He fixed an issue with our smart lock that's been annoying me for ages, and also *explained* the issue, which I always appreciate, as well as recommending some things we might need doing in future without pushing any particular solutions. read more

Alex responded immediately - on a Friday night - and quickly got us back into our bedroom, which we somehow managed to lock ourselves out of. Super professional, friendly, and fast! read more

Alex was super responsive and professional and got me back into my place in no time. I really appreciated that he gave me a call when he was halfway to my location to give me the update that he was still on time and on his way. That set my mind at ease during the evening rush hour. read more

I like Alex a lot. He responded so fast and headed towards my place so quickly. He solved my issue in 15 minutes. 5 stars!

This is my second time using Nova Locksmiths and both times Alex has been fantastic. I have a specialized door that not every locksmith can work with, and he handled it without any issues. I called yesterday afternoon and he came to my house the same day. Fast, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I won't call anyone else read more

Prior to finding Alex, I had worked with three locksmiths in the last ten years, and every one of them quoted a great price over the phone but charged something very different once they arrived. I do not write many reviews, but I always write one when the service is truly excellent or truly disappointing, and Alex at Nova Locksmith earned a review for excellent service. He opened my door quickly and installed a newer keyed entry door knob designed to reduce accidental lockouts. He explained everything clearly, worked efficiently, and charged exactly what he had quoted. The price was fair, consistent, and honest from start to finish. I genuinely wish I had found him much earlier. If you want a locksmith who is professional, transparent, and reliable, Nova Locksmith at (415) 745-9315 is the one to call. I am keeping his number and recommending him to friends because trust and skill like this are rare. read more

I found Nova through Claude as I needed some tricky hardware installed as in a replica of a 100 year old face plate and lock system. Alex did his magic and figured out how to install this system. He also did standard locksmith stuff like rekeying some locks and recommending an upgrade to a decades old lock. I highly recommend Nova as an honest and competent locksmith. Quality, value, honest, and competent. read more

Alex is our go to for lock issues, he's very professional and responsive, charges fair prices.

Alex did a fabulous job installing a deadbolt and rekeyed 2 door knobs. I use one key for all 3 locks!!! He is professional and has a great personality. He knows his stuff. He shared knowledge about locks, how they work, and what would best suit my needs. I am very happy that I chose Nova Locksmith. I will use them in the future for any of my Locksmith projects. read more

We've had an issue with our iron gate for a month. It was getting harder to shut the gate and something simply seemed off about it. I called and spoke to Eddie. I sent him pictures and he knew exactly what was wrong and said that he had a replacement part. He came later that evening and replaced the strike plate, and re-wired the new one to ensure that the door buzzer (to remotely let people in) still worked. After he initially replaced the strike plate, the gate was not really closing correctly. He examined the new strike plate, comparing it to the old one and saw that the old one had a cut to make everything fit perfectly. He went ahead and cut the new one to match it. Our house is a 1938 house, and things continuously settle, so this did not surprise me! Everything works perfectly now, gate closes and locks great and we can easily buzz people in when needed. Eddie worked hard to make everything perfect and he was an absolute joy to have around. IF ever we need a locksmith again, or someone needs a reference, we absolutely recommend Nova! read more

After calling a scam company that sent me a tech with an attitude and a ridiculous quote, I found Alex on Yelp. I'm so grateful that he was able to help me the following day with replacing my front door handle. He's informative, respectful and got the job done quickly. I appreciate his professionalism and will be keeping his contact (and sharing it) for future needs! read more

When my front door locks needed replacing, I used Yelp's Project feature to reach out to multiple local businesses. Within 12 hours, I received responses from 7 different locksmiths. While I was going through the Yelp listings, Nova Locksmith had (by far) the most positive reviews. So I reached out and quickly made an appointment for 2 days out (not an emergency). Alex came by early in the appointment window (texting ahead of time, as he promised). He assessed the situation, gave me a quote, then quickly and easily replaced my door knob and deadbolt. All the work was done in 30 minutes, the price was reasonable, and he was very respectful of my space, leaving the front door area clean. I'm very thankful for Alex and his bright and professional attitude and will use him again whenever I need a locksmith. read more

Only good things to say about Alex. Such a hard working guy. He managed to fit me into his long day, getting to my house around 8:00pm to do a relatively simple job...switching out two locks on my front door, and making keys for it. He is super polite & thoughtful. I didn't compare his price with others, but his charge seemed reasonable. Also, the keys he cuts are better quality (thicker) than the basic ones I had. Thank you, Alex. read more

Had an incredibly positive experience with Alex of Nova Locksmith. He was absolutely fabulous! He came when he agreed to and even called me as his earlier customer job was running a little over. I really appreciated that courtesy. He is super professional, attentive, proactive and his craftsmanship is superior. I also truly appreciate that he can make professional suggestions that don't seem to be self indulging. I had a different locksmith connection for years, but Alex is my new locksmith from this point forward period. Finally, he gave me an estimate that seemed reasonably based on what he needed to do, as well as scenarios that could possibly change it. I highly recommended Alex of Nova Locksmith. read more

Prompt, kind, and quick. Decent price to unlock my car at $140. Would use this service again but hopefully that won't be necessary!

Called Alex again four years later for a deadbolt and smart lock installation. Great dude and easy to work with, plus he did a great job on the installation. Just call him and he generally picks up right away. Prices are still reasonable (had a couple cheaper offers but they were sketchy AF dudes) so its an easy choice. He was able to stop by within two days which was more than fast enough for a non-urgent issue. read more

Alex is awesome. He came out within 20 minutes to diagnose an issue with our buzzer that opens our gate to our triplex. Nova also changed out some locks when we moved in same day I called them. My key broke in the front door lock and Alex was able to extract the key quickly and at a fair price. Alex is extremely nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend him. read more
