My husband hired Northland Tree Enterprises this past weekend to trim and haul away the rim minds from ex palm trees. I had my shoulder and arm injured in a car accident a year ago and have been unable to do my normal trimming of date clusters and leaves. The guy I met was super nice and I showed him the palm trees. I had previously removed a large set of string lights directly under the palms to be trimmed and die if I ally ashes him if I should remove another set under these other hedge fense line trees and was told 'no' I also a he'd if I should move my outdoor furniture or decor for them befire they came; he said no to this as well stating that they would do it. I also asked if they would be hauling it all away (which is just the normal) and he says yes.
My husband called and let he know he had agreed to assessment and they were coming in a few hours to do the work. Obviously with a bum shoulder I can't just go out there and move everything so I was grateful that he said they did this before cutting (The only other company we had used before for this did the sane thing).
We had only ever had to use a professional tree trimming service once in the six years we have been here and the last company my husband hired did an amazing job! I had been in hospital just prior and they cane out did everything and left my yard immaculate, no tree debris in the yard or in pool... without a single item out of place nor broken.
So... I assumed this is how all companies did this sort of thing. I was mistaken.
I was sick they say they came but when my husband got hone Friday he went with me outside to investigate their work. They trimmed the palm trees beautifully. The tree work itself was practically perfect.... It's everything below six feet that was the issue.
There was (and still is) hunks of palm debri and dates everywhere in the hard (on furniture all over yard), they knocked over one of the wired permanently installed lights in front of one of the trees, they knocked over one of my decorative carts not even near the palms and just left it on the ground in pieces, they broke off pieces of decorative metal Flowers, some round solar lights went missing (I'm assuming they got ought up in the things they were hauling out of the yard), I have a matching set of copper hanging solar lanterns that go on matching sleep hooks and one of those was apparently knocked off and somehow ended up on the other side of yard with it's hanging hinge lost somewhere, they actually used my personal equipment without asking (trimmer and ladder) and just left out in the yard not putting the items back were they got them, one of the two sets of string lights I had asked if I should remove on fence line was cut and limb holding that strand up was broken, furniture and flower pots were all moved and not returned to where they were moved from and covered in debris (plants broken and damaged), huge hunks of debri was all in the pool, and they did not haul away all of the debris from the palms as they said they would but filled our yard debris can with palm debris (which is really one of the main points of hiring them ... the city does not take palm debris in the yard can).
Prior to their coming, my lawn furniture had recently been washed and all cousins cleaned and scrubbed, all the yard raked and debris free. They left it all in a bit of a mess with me not really able to clean up after them and now I have to replace lanterns, lights, and lawn decor. My husband contacted them after to ask if they would replace the lantern and string lights (those things aren't exactly cheap) he sent photos of just those items because I told him not to worry about the mess (unless we are fined or have to pay to haul that can full of palm debri away) or the other things as it's mainly something we can probably just fix or cheaply replaced. But they are not really responding other than they do not want to replace those two broken items which would be just under ninety dollars.
Because I'm about to have shoulder surgery I may have to hire someone come and clean up all the remaining debris and mess they left behind.
So, for the actual trees themselves they seem to do an excellent job ... but if I would have known the damage and mess they would cause to my non tree property .... I'm not sure I'd hire them again or if so, I'd wait till I had help to move everything out of their way and not trust when they said they would. I'd also have someone there to make sure they cleaned up after themselves and did nit use my personal tools. It would not be so bad if both arm and shoulder worked and I could do the work myself. It's frustrating when they say they would do a job a certain way ... but they did not. And the refusal to replace the only two item (out of the several things they broke) I asked to be replaced.
So maybe we'll get the company we hired the first time to come back next time. read more
