I have Celiac Disease so I was unable to try any of their food - but my boyfriend who is NOT celiac was able to try one of their breakfast sandwiches. Even upon returning home to Boston, he still thoroughly misses this breakfast sandwich and recommends it to friends who still live in Rochester, For coffee, I had a coconut latte with housemade syrups, which was incredible. My boyfriend got a mocha which he also enjoyed and rated a 7/10. I would rate my latte a 9/10. If you're in Canandaigua or Rochester, this place is worth a visit. It is very unfortunate that the old ethnic bakeries have gone away and replaced primarily by grocery stores. It appears that the children of the old ethnic bakeries saw how hard their parents worked and decided to become doctors and lawyers and such. The delicious cakes of our long ago memories are gone. I visit a lot of new bakeries trying to relive my past memories. It appears that most of these new bakeries utilize standard cake mixes available from a variety of sources. They may add an ingredient of two to try to make it taste more homemade, but they all fail my taste and texture tests. Most are light and fluffy cake with average icing. They do look good however, but that is not what I look for. I look for taste and texture. I was very pleasantly surprised with our recent visit to Sweet Solutions on Main Street in Canandaigua. I ordered two large cakes for a corporate event. One was Vanilla/Vanilla and the other was Triple Chocolate. WOW ! Both cakes were exceptional in both taste and texture. They looked great too. Both cakes were devoured by the 45 people in attendance. Sweet Solutions mentioned that each cake would serve about 40 people. They must serve small slices. Our guests had two and three helpings apiece. Everyone raved on how great the cakes were. I personally had three pieces (large by the way) and would have had more the next day if any were available. The visit to Sweet Solutions took me back to the 60's and 70's when Shreck's and Vecchi's bakeries in Canandaigua when I was a child. Both were exceptional bakeries that were local institutions. There are a few bakeries in Rochester, NY who make some nice cakes but they are not as good as Sweet Solutions in Canandaigua, NY. My wife is ordering another today ! I am overjoyed to finally find a bakery that can meet my high standards. I can honestly say that Sweet Solutions is the best in the greater Rochester area. Thanks for reading. The assortment of items available is large; breads, cookies, cheesecakes, croissants, cinnamon buns, cupcakes, cake pops, muffins, swiss rolls, and more! The staff are very kind and attentive. There are so many delicious baked goods that catch your attention and this often leads me to questions. They are always helpful and happy to tell me about the current selection. The prices are wonderful! I love their cheesecakes slices. They are huge and less than $5 dollars a slice. On our most recent visit we got something for each member of our family of 5 and it cost less than $10 dollars! I love that we have a local bakery so close to home with fresh, delicious, and affordable baked goods.
