This review is only for breakfast. There's ample parking for this spot which is shared with a medical building next door. Once walking in it splits between a bar and dinner. You will be greeted once walking in and the service was on point. I came here on a Friday morning and was greeted and seated really quickly. I ordered the country skillet and it was amazing! Had nice country gravy over bacon and sausages. It was a huge amount and had to get a box to bring the rest home. I also ordered some cinnamon roll pancakes. I really enjoyed them as they weren't overly sweet and had a great taste. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. So if you're interested in looking for a new breakfast spot, be sure to give them a try.

Ok so I'm split - on one hand, they have some pretty good beers on tap and decent happy hour specials so dining in is def preferred. However, my boyfriend & I live a few minutes away and just wanted to pick up takeout on the way home...Now, my baked haddock with rice and salad was good, I'd definitely get it again! Buuuut, for $20 - this is the steak tip and fries you get? (Plus side salad not show) come on Northside, if this was served in-house, this would notttt fly.

TL;DR; Food: Amazing. Service: Amazing. Atmosphere: Amazing…read more The entire place is a retired coach stop for travelers from the south and west, as the name implies. The building has changed hands and purposes over the centuries, but the homeliness has held up. The kids mac and cheese on its own was better than most mac and cheeses, which should speak for itself. I'd say my favorite mac and cheese at a restaurant. I was kind of mad at myself for being so blown away by a kids mac and cheese. I will be back to have the lobster mac as a main based on this alone. I ordered it for my kid, but couldn't stop stealing bites. It's simple - definitely nothing more than quality cheese plus cream and pasta. But cheese choice in a mac and cheese is the most important! The clam chowder was INCREDIBLE. It became my new favorite, and I'm highly picky about clam chowders. The bacon wrapped scallops were drizzled in syrup which was a perfect flavor. Scallops were well cooked. Potato salad had that little acidic kick and was just great overall. Probably top 3 for me. Finally, the bread served as a pallette whetter is crispy and warm, chewy on the inside, with a few slices of pumpkin bread (probably seasonal). Service wise, Danielle was super friendly, did not rush, conversed with us, and without any prompting whatsoever offered to get a completely full and fresh cup of chowder to go rather than just an empty cup to pack away my leftover chowder. Felt SUPER welcomed. We also had a 1.5 yr old and didn't feel alienated. We were seated away from most guests, which I actually feel is a good strategic decision for both them and us. This is superb restaurant management. Overall - 10/10. WILL be back, and soon!

We typically eat out on Easter and every other Thanksgiving. So, we don't expect the food to be the chefs best....too busy for that. Turkey was good, gravy cold. Prime rib was cold, tough and not really edible. I had 2 bites. Mashed potatoes, soup and bread was good. No stuffing. My son got the seafood pasta and he enjoyed it. Waitress was great, not her fault. But, she saw that we didn't eat the prime rib. I commented on the toughness and she was polite but did not even get a manager.....maybe too busy. Pie was ehhh. Bottom line - spent almost $400 and left not even slightly full. Dogs are happy though

Cookies Diner - Hash & Eggs (over easy)

Cookies Diner

As some of you probably already know, I'm a sucker for a good cozy local breakfast place. Apropos,…read moreI happened upon this place via Yelp through a fluke, really. Meaning to click on someone's check-in or something, I ended up clicking on this diner instead. I read the menu, saw they had one of my all time favorites (the hash & eggs), then I was instantly sold! Naturally, the hash & eggs lived up to their rep. Cookies offers both canned and house made hash (though I almost always choose the former for personal reasons) and the homefries were well seasoned and crispy on the outside. Unfortunately, as with most breakfast places, they can't seem to butter toast very well. A minor inconvenience, at worst. My recommendation would be to maybe sub this for a bagel with cream cheese (note to self), unless you're one of those jam on toast types. In which case, have at you. The coffee was decent. Obviously a breakfast blend that's not too bold. But at least it didn't taste like tea. Now, I gotta talk about the layout real quick, because it's rather unique. You may have noticed in the outside photo that there's two entrances. That's because the one on the right is meant for handicapped accessibility (hence the ramp). I have to say...that's rather thoughtful of them. Of course, given the inordinately high volume of senior citizens residing in NH, why am I even surprised? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, the interior is interesting because it has these two sections; the main dining area where the restrooms are also located, and a smaller back area with a mini bar and a few other tables. If you manage to be seated at one of the tables along the middle of both areas, there's this open window where you can view the mini bar and kitchen. This is also where the servers operate from if you're sitting at said tables. I hope I described that accurately, since taking photos of the interior without accidentally capturing a few faces was next to impossible. So, would I return? Certainly, if I ever manage to convince the wifey to join me (she's not what you'd call an early riser). The food here is very diner-esque (IYKYK) and I dare say rivals that of The Good Place on Lowell road. I'm giving Cookies Diner 4 plates of savory hash & eggs out of 5.

All was good but only eat there once a year so not enough experience to make a rating on.read more

The service is always amazing and the food is always on point and it never disappoints. The ambiance is like a typical diner with booths, no loud music so you can talk to your party. Let's get down to the food. Cinnamon Bun Pancakes- this is my go to because I love it! It's not overly sweet which I love and it reminds me on a cinnamon bun. I always get one lol Country Benedict- this is what I order every time I come here as my main dish. You get buttermilk biscuits instead of English muffins with sausage patties on top and the lovely gravy. The gravy is soo good. CHOCOLATECHIP pancakes- my daughter go to since she loves chocolate lol. Which 5 year old doesn't right? She always gets this and it's really good. So if you're in Hudson be sure to come here, you won't be disappointed.

** Patty Melt review **…read more Roadside eatery in a tiny strip plaza. Outside, it looks nothing like the classic New England train car style or New Jersey stainless steel style diners, but inside are countertop with stools, booths around the outskirts, and the hustle and bustle giving it a strong diner vibe. Like my visits to many diners, I was here on my patty melt quest. -- Patty Melt: First, the composition is faithful to the prototype, with a quarter pound patty (no smashburger nonsense), rye bread (no sourdough decoy), buttered (not merely toasted), and with the classic Swiss cheese, sautéed onions and thousand Island dressing. No fusion, no reinvention, no omissions, no hipster jive. Good crispness and butteriness on the bread, great melt on the cheese, and noticeable softness to the onions. Most importantly, the beef could be ordered medium rare, and they executed. More softness, with gushing juices and a really pleasing bite. I suspect nothing special to start with, but they cooked it to near perfection. Only quibble would be not much crust to the patty, but not as critical on a patty melt. -- Fries: I could have had tots or a few other options, but fries were fine. Almost certainly frozen, but the skin-on variety and not the dreaded coated kind. Nothing special, but good enough. Service was adequate. It seemed like everyone was prepping to get everything gathered and cleaned for closing about 90 minutes earlier than necessary, but that didn't detract. If anything, it shows initiative and hustle. Not much data to go on, but an easy 4 for me.
