Great local joint. I go here every time I'm in the area. The outdoor seating is nice and they have a walk up window too. Get the herring with vodka. Craft beer list is priced very well.

Great spot over in the Atlantic/ Barclays area. You can't beat a $5 beer shot combo! They also have a lot of interesting shots and cocktails. So far my boyfriend and I have tried the herring shot, Oaxaca shot, pickle martini, and rosemary martini. My boyfriend was brave enough to do the herring shot which I'll never try lol - it's a shot with a fish as a chaser (or eat the fish first then chase with the shot idk lol). The rosemary martini is really good and is my favorite drink I've tried there so far! The place is small and dark, lit up by a tv in the corner and candles around the room; the bartenders are super nice, and the drinks are great! Highly recommended!

Visited North Pole Pub on a rainy Friday night. It is a much better than average dive bar with a ton of personality. A place you sit down and want to stay a while. Quality: The only thing this dive bar is missing is an enhanced beer selection. Some bars embrace who they are and that is what makes them worth a visit. North Pole Pub is definitely one of these bars. That stand out by the list of pickle, mushroom, and herring shots, as well as their surprisingly great Pickle Martini. They offer a full bar, though expect cocktails to be simple, and they had a list of sixteen beers. And it the beers where I think they could go from good to fantastic. Absolutely keep the cheap standard beers, but add a few more unique and local options. Quantity: No issue with the size of any pours. Value: Prices were not listed on the menu, but nothing was expensive. Two rounds of drinks plus tip came to $40. Ambiance: North Pole Pub is just off 5th Avenue towards the north end of Park Slope. The exterior will not alert you to its presence and the name initially made me assume they were a Christmas bar leftover. However, once you are inside the cozy space, you can't help but love the charm. They have a small bar where most folks gathered around, then a few tables along the wall. In the center of the space was a standing bar, which I assume during non-COVID times provides a place to rest your beer and have a conversation. In the background they were playing classic tunes and the television had on old cartoons, though it was switched to playoff basketball when requested. Crowd: A small crowd of regulars made up the bar on a rainy Friday evening. It was funny watch as everyone exclaimed a name as the Friday crowd made their entrances. Service: Attentive and quick bartender, who kept a close eye on drinks to make sure no one had empty glasses. Parking: Limited street parking in this busy area.

This is the best little neighborhood bar around. They're open until 4am every night, and they've got great beer & shot specials, starting at just $5! They've got a fuse ball table, and always play good music. The staff here is also great, especially that bar-back they had before the pandemic, he was the man!

Have you ever chased a vodka shot with fish? Well, at North Pole Pub, you can! Actually wasn't the first time I've had a fish chaser (but that's a whole other story). They do some other strange vodka shot combos. There's the standard pickleback, but they also have a mushroom shot, and one with herring. Herring is what we did. Two large chunks of jarred herring speared on a toothpick over a shot of potato vodka. AND IT WAS AMAZING. Really, don't knock it til you try it. Maybe don't do it on a date because y'know, fish breath. We were told a lot of these odd combos were traditionally Polish. Make no mistake, North Pole Pub is very Polish, with Polish drink specials, Polish vodka, and the first beer on their menu is a Polish one (the fourth is Czech). They also have some craft beers and the bottom tier domestic sports bar stuff as well. A Bud and a house whiskey shot is $5! Speaking of sports, yes, this is a sports bar, just like Black Sheep Pub before it was. If there's an event going on at Barclays, expect the exodus to migrate to North Pole afterwards. Stop on by!

Grunge chic with a Brooklyn flavor. Don't miss this stop with great specials all night. Also cannot help to mention pickle back shots for only $6. Bar is small and intimate great for a first date for a hangout spot. Give it a try!

It was duck season, so I went home and decided to cook duck the next day.

North Pole Pub was a really nice relief from the Kwanzaa Crawl back in December. The bartenders were very friendly and the vibe was cozy. It was very easy to believe that this is where Santa goes after work. The drinks were reasonably priced and there were a lot of great options. I'm a cider gal, so I ordered the spiked cider and it didn't disappoint. I also enjoyed that there were two TVs so you could watch a little drama or you could watch cartoons. It's a "come as you are bar" so it's easy to feel comfortable dressed casual or a little more nicely. What more could anyone ask for?

This place was really dark. I went there because they had the pickle back shot for $5 during their happy hour. My friend never had it so we went there to try it. I enjoyed the shot however my friend did not lol. The bartender was friendly. I liked that they had water on the side (self serve). Cool spots just for drinks. It's a small space as well.

Great deal but the vibes is kinda meh and there's TVs everywhere. It's a good thing if you care about sport I guess.

I chose this place because I had visited a few times in the past and expected a positive environment. While there, I ran into an old friend who was accompanying individuals with special needs. They informed us about the R&B karaoke event, and we attempted to participate respectfully and supportively. Unfortunately, after participating, the DJ became rude and dismissive. My friends decided not to continue because each time they attempted to request a song, the DJ was unkind and impatient, seemingly unaware--or unconcerned--that they were individuals with special needs. The situation escalated when I attempted to calmly address the disrespect. Instead of listening, the bartender repeatedly accused me of being drunk simply because I was defending myself after a rude comment. I was not intoxicated; I was advocating for respectful treatment. Even the DJ's own companion appeared visibly shocked by the comment made toward me, as if anticipating a reaction. I remained composed and professional despite being deeply upset. What disappointed me most was the staff's decision to defend the DJ's behavior rather than acknowledge how inappropriate and disrespectful the interaction was. This reflects poorly on how this establishment treats people--especially those who deserve patience, understanding, and dignity. I came expecting an enjoyable brunch experience and left feeling ashamed for having trusted this place. It is clear that the venue prioritizes protecting mediocre DJs with minimal local popularity over treating customers with basic respect. Poor organization, lack of proper event management, and unprofessional staff behavior made this experience unacceptable. I have visited many establishments and have never felt so disrespected. I will not be returning.

The Caesar & buffalo wings are pretty much my metric for all Irish pubs. McMahon's would def be in the upper 50th percentile. There are a bunch of negative reviews for this spot on here for when they are very busy, on Barclays Center game nights and / or weekends. I feel like, if you read between the lines, it's people coming in groups when it's busy acting entitled. The staff at lunch has been nothing but courteous, w/ excellent service.
